Opening Song: Fresh Wind (https://open.spotify.com/track/5bCBMKuaHNpRCuPPVKtzlk?si=5be53ed5d0184b84) by Ben Fielding, Brooke Ligertwood, David Ware, and Matt Crocker Lyrics: Spirit sound rushing wind Fire of God fall within Holy Ghost breathe on us we pray As we repent turn from sin Revival embers smouldering Breath of God fan us into flame We need a fresh wind The fragrance of heaven Pour your spirit out Pour your spirit out For hearts that burn with holy fear Purified in faith and deed Refiner's fire strengthen what remains So we the church who bear your light Lamp aflame city bright King and kingdom come is what we pray We need a fresh wind The fragrance of heaven Pour your spirit out Pour your spirit out A holy anointing The power of your presence Pour your spirit out Pour your spirit out Pour your spirit out (pour your spirit out) Pour your spirit out (pour your spirit out) Pour your spirit out (pour your spirit out) Pour your spirit out Let all the redeemed Prophesy and sing We can hear the wind Blowing blowing blowing Move upon our praise Sons and daughters sing We can hear the wind Blowing blowing (blowing) Passage: When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[a] on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” Musical Reflection: I Need Thee Every Hour (NEED) by Robert Lowry Reflection Notes: Each stanza of this familiar hymn was written by Annie Hawks as part of a poem. When she showed the composition to her pastor, Robert Lowry, he added the refrain and set the text to music for their congregation to enjoy. The musical lines always tend upward before falling back down, an apt parallel to the textual pleas reaching up to God. Prayer: Almighty God, on this day, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, you revealed the way of eternal life to every race and nation: Pour out this gift anew, that by the preaching of the Gospel your salvation may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Special Guest: Jeff Suhr.

In today’s devotional, we’ll be learning about what it means to be a friend who loves well. Think about your dearest friends. What role have they played in your life in the best and in the worst times? Does your heart fill with thankfulness as you acknowledge what a good gift God has given you in them? May we pinpoint exactly what it means to intentionally love our friends well today. May we be filled with the love of Jesus and grace of God to go out of way to love and minister to those special people in our lives today. Our Scripture for today comes from Proverbs 17:17, and today's worship is God So Loved by Hillsong Worship feat. David Ware. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. If you would like to learn more about the First15 app, books, blogs, videos and our other resources, please visit first15.org. You can always reach out to us on our contact page on the website. Click here to help even more people encounter God through the ministry of First15. __________ Live a life marked by faith. The Bible has so much to say about our faith. And if I’m being honest, a lot of it is really confusing. In Matthew 21 Jesus tells us that we’ll receive anything we ask for, if we have faith. Hebrews 11 tells us that it’s impossible to please God if we don’t have faith. 2 Corinthians 5 tells us that it is by faith that we “see” the path forward, and not with our physical sight. But when I look into my own heart, I come face to face with ways I doubt on a daily basis. I often trust in my own strength, lean on my own understanding, and seek to provide for myself with my own power rather than relying on the strength, empowering, and provision of God. But, I also know that simply trying to have more faith doesn’t work either. This is why I wrote a four-week devotional, Faith, to unpack what the Bible says about living a life marked by an authentic faith. Faith isn’t something we muster up on our own. It’s not something we produce or create. Faith is the natural response to seeing, experiencing, and believing in God’s faithfulness. And the pathway to greater faith is greater experience, greater understanding, and a true heart-knowledge of God’s faithfulness to us that guides our thoughts, emotions, and actions. We've launched Volume 6 of our First15 Devotional Series, Faith, created to guide you into transformative experiences with God’s faithfulness and empower you to start living a life marked by authentic faith. In the late 1950s a Texas town on the Gulf of Mexico was suffering from a devastating, decade-long drought. But while the wells ran dry, the ocean lapped at the town’s shore, taunting the thirsty residents with its endless supply of undrinkable water. Undrinkable, that is, until President John F. Kennedy stepped in to save the day with the promise of science. The evolving technology of desalination wouldn’t just end droughts: it would give us as much water as we wanted. It would allow us to inhabit otherwise uninhabitable places. It would let us make the deserts bloom. But at what cost? John David Ware is the founder and director of 168 Film. Originally from Columbus Ohio, John went to film school at Miami University, Oxford, OH) and graduated with honors. In 1998, he co-founded SLATE Entertainment Fellowship at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, where 168 was born. John is a conference speaker and media and film festival consultant. 168 has helped propel the lives and careers of thousands of artists all over the world by teaching them to focus on excellence of craft and on God's Word. John has written feature-length spec screenplays and produced short films. He lives in Burbank, CA. What is 168 Film? Founded in 2003, the 168 Film Project is an incubator for writers and filmmakers to explore scripture and to practice their craft. The 168 Film Project challenge to filmmakers worldwide is to draw a random scripture and in just 168 hours (7 days) shoot and edit a short film. In the Write of Passage competition, writers craft a 12-page script in 168 hours. We reduce barriers to production and create opportunities for pros and newcomers to just do it. Participants from diverse backgrounds and faiths forge dynamic, creative communities. All Filmmakers are responsible for their own budget, cast and crew. What started as a ministry to local Southern California filmmakers has expanded to a worldwide movement. Many different countries compete in this international contest, some winning top honors. We encourage fair treatment of subjects with emphasis on story and subtlety. But most importantly, filmmakers are encouraged to honestly portray the tale that God inspires through the foundational scripture. “168” films uplift and inform the human condition, showing real consequences for actions and reflecting traditional, conservative Biblical values. Content rules do not require overtly Christian characters, just real ones. We do not permit swearing or use of the word “God” or “Jesus” as an expletive. There is no gratuitous sex, language, violence or drug use. Midwatch interviews Christian authors, artists, movie producers, indie film makers, ministers and just about anyone with a story of faith. The show is built around discussing faith and building encouragement to our listeners. Broadcasting primarily online through our servers to the world and across the USA on RevMedia Network. Midwatch has reached over 3.5 million listeners over the past 3 years. Join us for a show full of faith, humor, special guests, truth, entertainment and encouragement.
