In this episode, Laura sits down with Shaquanna Chappelle, executive presence consultant and speaker, to break down what executive presence really is and what it isn't. While executive presence is often framed around image, polish, or performance, Shaquanna invites us into a deeper understanding: true presence is built from the inside out. Drawing from her journey from wardrobe stylist to confidence and presence expert, she shares how she realized that what many leaders were struggling with wasn't how they looked, but how they felt about themselves. Together, Laura and Shaquanna explore the often-unspoken confidence gap, how insecurity, fear, and limiting beliefs can quietly undermine even the most capable leaders. They discuss the critical role of self-trust in leadership and how rebuilding that trust can transform how we show up, communicate, and influence others. Shaquanna also introduces her approach to helping leaders define their unique executive presence positioning, emphasizing that presence is not about imitation, but about alignment: understanding who you are, how you lead, and how you communicate your value authentically. Aligned with Season 8's theme Leaning Into Joy, this episode invites listeners to release performative expectations and step into a more grounded, confident, and empowered version of leadership.   About Shaquanna Shaquanna is a sought-after speaker and executive presence consultant trusted by Forbes School of Business & Technology, Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, Sentara Health, and more. Known for her high-energy keynotes on fear, insecurity, and self-imposed limits, she empowers professionals to tap into their confidence and show up in their full power. As an in-demand image and style expert, she believes confidence starts within. Her book, Get Up and Get Dressed, guides women to eliminate self-doubt and embrace their full potential. Thank you for joining us for another episode of Building the Premier Accounting Firm. In today's episode, Roger Knecht and guest Nathan Whittacre discuss the ever-evolving landscape of technology, cybersecurity, and AI in the accounting industry. They offer practical advice for accounting professionals on how to navigate digital threats and leverage new technologies for business growth. In This Episode: 00:00 Introduction & Guest Background 01:28 Evolution of Business Technology 05:57 Embracing Technological Change 09:49 Data Security & Compliance 14:45 Evaluating New Technologies 19:03 AI: Misconceptions and Tools 24:29 Leveraging AI in Platforms 27:19 Cybersecurity Threats & Mitigation 36:37 Family Business Dynamics 39:02 Conclusion & Final Thoughts 43:50 Outro & Resources Key Takeaways: Embrace technological change to stay competitive and efficient in your accounting firm. Prioritize data security and compliance with regulations to protect client information from evolving cyber threats. Evaluate new technologies based on their ability to improve internal processes or enhance the client experience, rather than chasing "shiny new objects." Leverage AI integration within existing software platforms to boost efficiency and profitability, understanding that AI is a tool, not a job replacement. Conduct annual reviews of your software vendors to ensure they are investing in current technologies and incorporating AI for future development. Featured Quotes: "If you look at any of the charts of, you know, how change happens with technology, it just is exponentially accelerating." - Nathan Whittacre "The goal is to do more work with less errors with less people." - Nathan Whittacre "People want a personal touch still. They want, you know, that relationship with their professionals that they have." - Nathan Whittacre Behind the Story: Nathan Whittacre recounts starting Stimulus Technologies with his family at just 17, driven by a passion for technology. This early start provided a unique perspective on the evolution of computing from DOS to cloud-based AI. He shares a sobering story of a client firm that lost hundreds of thousands of dollars due to a sophisticated cyber attack, underscoring the constant threat small businesses face. On this episode of the Customers First Podcast, I have an insightful conversation with Ken Cox, President of River City Internet Group and the mind behind InLink.com—a platform dedicated to providing small businesses and solopreneurs with the essential tools needed for success. Ken passionately shares his journey from a challenging childhood to becoming a key player in the tech industry, illuminating how his early experiences shaped his approach to empowering entrepreneurs.    Ken discusses the disparities he observed in the business landscape, particularly regarding the resources available to larger corporations compared to small businesses. He emphasizes the importance of creating a level playing field through technology, allowing smaller entities to compete effectively. His mission with InLink.com is to simplify operations for small businesses by offering an all-in-one suite that includes a fully integrated CRM, office tools similar to Google Drive, and unparalleled support. We explore how these resources not only improve productivity but also enhance customer experiences by streamlining communication and marketing efforts.   Throughout our discussion, Ken highlights the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in the business realm. By implementing AI-driven solutions, Ken aims to alleviate common pain points faced by small business owners, ultimately allowing them to focus on what they do best—serving their customers.   We dive deeper into the functionalities that differentiate InLink.com from other software on the market, such as its commitment to user data privacy, integrated marketing capabilities, and ease of use for entrepreneurs who may be apprehensive about navigating digital tools.   As our conversation unfolds, Ken predicts a future where small businesses leverage both Web 2.0 and 3.0 technologies to expand their presence beyond local markets. He envisions a time when Main Street businesses can create a national brand identity through innovative products and online courses, ultimately doubling or even tripling their revenue streams. For those eager to implement cutting-edge solutions and build winning strategies for their businesses, this episode is a must-listen.   Kens' Contact Information: Website: https://kencox.com LinkedIn: @kencox YouTube: @ClicksBricksPodcast   Tacey's Contact Information: Website: taceyatkinson.com All Socials: @TaceyAtkinson   Thank you for tuning in, and I look forward to having more valuable conversations together in the future.   Remember: Customer-Centric Cultures Create Magical Customer Experiences. No warning, just a moment that forced me to change direction. And that's exactly what business can feel like today. Things shift quickly, and we need to be ready to pivot. That moment reminded me just how valuable a tool like ChatGPT can be — not for flashy gimmicks, but for real, day-to-day support. In this episode, I share exactly how I used ChatGPT over the past week to stay sharp, save time, and better support clients. You'll hear how I used ChatGPT to:• Research prospects and uncover insights that led to more personalized outreach• Compare LMS platforms to guide a client's decision• Refine an article for an industry publication to sound more helpful, not salesy• Align branding visuals and promotions for a consistent message• Explore topics like stem cell therapy to stay informed and sharp3 Actionable Steps to Try This Week: Use it for research: Ask ChatGPT to break down a company, audience, or trend in plain English. Test it on something small: Try rewriting one email or LinkedIn post — you'll be surprised how much time it saves. Is technology stopping you from growing or running your business? In this episode of The Business Ownership Podcast I interviewed Jack Murphy. Jack is the guy behind Motion 3 Technology. He started his company for himself and had an entrepreneurial spirit that said he could do this and do it better than others. The second reason was for his wife, Rachel, and their two kids, Malachai and Aurora. They support many of the technology experiments he brings home, and they are always messing with the latest tech tools, apps, and games. They help him figure out how to solve problems creatively, and he has learned tons from them about communicating with clarity and patience to his clients. His company Motion 3 Technology was created with a very simple mission: to bring the humanity back to IT. So often, his friends and family would call on him to explain something that had already been “explained” by another IT or tech professional…who actually left them confused or feeling belittled. It's also quite intimidating to get a quote for work at your business without knowing whether it is fair and needed. He wanted to do what he  always loved—using technology to expand our understanding of the world around us—while helping other people find the same fun and excitement in the potential of technology that he did. So, he found professionals who value communication, patience, and consistency and formed Motion 3 Technology. And now, he is privileged to say that he breaks a record every day he wakes up. Be the first to know about the future of technology and how it will impact your company in the present and future.Check ths out!Show Links:Motion 3 Technology: https://www.motion3.tech/Jack Murphy on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jack-murphy-4674a731/Book a call with Michelle: https://go.appointmentcore.com/book/IcFD4cGJoin our Facebook group for business owners to get help or help other business owners! The Business Ownership Group - Secrets to Scaling: https://www.facebook.com/groups/businessownershipsecretstoscalingLooking to scale your business?
