Born in Bohemia (current Czech Republic), after coming to the United States, he worked in establishing parishes and parish schools. Today's Passage: Colossians 2: 18-23Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” (referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.Today's Prayer: We choose to reject worldly systems and embrace the cross we choose to reject pride and instead Embrace the mercy of God We choose the one mediator who bore our sins on the cross.We confess Christ as the head of the body come in the one who nourishes us. We ask you to knit us together. Holy Spirit, we ask you to make manifests the gifts you've given to our church for the work of equipping and edifying your body. We confess that we are members of Christ and members of one another. Teach us Holy Spirit, the role you have for each of us. He calls for believers to declare this abundance over their homes, families, careers, and ministries, positioning themselves to experience the fullness of God's provision. Reflecting on the simplicity of Jesus's commands, I'm struck by how he distills it all down to love—love for God and love for others. In a world filled with rules and regulations, Jesus offers a refreshing perspective: love one another as I have loved you. It's not about complicated rituals or stringent guidelines; it's about genuine love in action. As I reflect on this, I'm reminded that loving others is the ultimate expression of my love for God. So, I ask myself: what unnecessary complexities do I add to following Jesus? As we move into a time of prayer, ask the Lord to reveal areas of your own life that you have been reluctant to share with the Body. Ask Him to speak life and truth into these areas. Ask Him to deepen your faith and allow you to trust Him in the vulnerability of sharing your gifts with others.   Lord, we know that your ways are better than our own.  We know that your ways alone bring fullness of joy.  We confess our attempts to live in isolation,  despite your command to live as one body.   We confess our attempts to withhold our gifts.  Unwilling to be vulnerable.  Unwilling to risk rejection.  You have given us a better way. You have given us the gift of a New Family. Through your Spirit, you have made us one.  Thank you for allowing us to reflect your glory as we live as one body.  As we walk through our day, remind us that your Word tells us that “two are better than one.”  Remind us that your strength and perfection are made known as we live in unity.  Deepen our understanding of what it means to belong fully to one another today.
