In this episode Dan, Adrian and Jules are talking code cracking, dice stacking and wine racking? In Sizzling Games, Dan has been running a racket in the Renaissance, Adrian has been an alien race selling spice in space, and Jules has been giving crazy clues and cunning cues. We also recap last week's Question of the Pod: What is the last game you added to your collection? Thanks to everyone who contributed and shared their experiences with us on Discord and the Facebook Community. Finally, in Swear An Oath, Adrian played Dune, Jules explored another planet in Unsettled, but Dan didn't manage to get Call To Adventure: Epic Origins to the table. New oaths include Dune: The Audiobook (Adrian), teaching Brass: Birmingham (Jules, and teaching Marvel Champions (Dan). Question of the Pod: What game makes an excellent stocking stuffer? Welcome to episode 2 of The Longest Turn Board Gaming Podcast! In this episode Kevin, Tyson and Tyler discuss a ton of great games and other board game related topics. We start off the episode talking about what we've been playing including What the Heck?, Spicy, Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game, Nyctophobia: Vampire Encounter, Tyrants of the Underdark and Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile. In this episode, we each recall a time when we were very nearly initiated into Peter Pan's troupe. Abandon All Artichokes, The Crew: Search for Planet Nine, Sleeping Gods, and Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game feature as games recently brought to our table. We delve into a discussion about hosting game night over a video chat platform before leaving you with a difficult question... who is your favourite Hogwart's Professor?

Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game is a new take on the idea of an escape room game. Puzzles + campaign? We're not always great about actually finishing campaigns, but what about Detective? Is Detective strong enough as a narrative to carry us through the campaign? We (and be we, I mean Player One only) aren't always keen on campaigns. So how does Detective fare? And what about its brother from another mother, Chronicles of Crime?Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game on Board Game Geek: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/223321/detective-modern-crime-board-game Chronicles of Crime on Board Game Geek: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/239188/chronicles-crime Theme & End Credit Music by Javier Suárez (Jahzzar) http://www.betterwithmusic.com/
In this episode we play through the standalone 6th case that is available for the base game of Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game by Portal Games. This is the case they often run at conventions, so be warned this will be a spoiler-filled episode where we try and solve the case.

After 5 weeks of hemming and hawing, Judy and Teresa have finally picked "My Fellow Citizens!" (국민여러분!) to cover this spring. This week, we watched episodes 5-8 of this KBS2 drama starring Choi SiWon, Lee YooYoung and Kim MinJung. If you would like to hear about episodes 1-4, please check out KDMEO episodes 130 and 131. We really liked these 4 episodes. The production team is doing an excellent job at zipping things along and intercutting smoothly between jokes and serious moments. There may also be some rambling about Chairwoman's (Kim MinJung) coats, "Mister Sunshine" (미스터션샤인) and real estate scams. Digressions: 0:56 - "Avengers: Endgame" (spoiler free) 2:18 - "Captain Marvel" (spoiler free) 3:44 - Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game 8:28 - "The Handmaid's Tale" (minor spoilers) Some Korean terms: 깍두기 [kkak-doo-gi]: kimchi made from radishes cut into small cubes. Ever want to wine and dine a potential client or get to know your new colleagues over board games? This week, we look at some games that offer the social interaction without potential gaffes or uncomfortable situations that work perfectly for low-key non-drinking ice-breakers. Before we dive in, we look at our question of the week - asking the listeners "What's the most ostentatious thing you've seen printed for or with a board game (besides CMON's jumbo Cthulhu)?" For our acquisition disorders, Anthony puts the spotlight on Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game hitting the states at Gen Con this week, and Chris looks at a blast from the past in Trogdor!! The Board Game. At the Table this week, we have a few games to talk about, starting with Most Wanted from North Star Games and Senshi from Arcane Wonders, both reviewed by Anthony. Then Chris delves into Red Dragon Inn 7 from Slugfest Games and Mystery of the Templates from Emperor S4 and Deepwater Games. Finally, we look at six games you should consider when trying to win friends and influence people.
