“I grew up my entire life going to church and never knew there was a pro-life movement. And if I would have thought there was one, I would have just assumed that the movement was picketers outside abortion clinics because that's all the media shows us. But the first time I was invited to a pro-life conference, I was blown away. I had no idea that there are thousands of organizations and people that are boots on the ground, helping women be brave and choose life in the most creative ways!" -Amy Ford, Author + President of Embrace GraceGoing through an unplanned pregnancy herself, Amy Ford knows what it feels like to experience shame and loneliness with nowhere to turn to for guidance, support and direction. You'll here her story in our conversation - how God intervened and saved her baby. She married her high school sweetheart, Ryan Ford, and they faced their unexpected pregnancy together. Looking back on that season of brokenness fueled their passion and desire to change things for young women with unplanned pregnancies. In 2008, Amy and her friend Salina, started a small group at her local church that met weekly with girls in that same situation providing support, friendship, guidance and love. A few years later in 2012, Embrace Grace was formed, a national non profit to equip churches all around the nation to have a pro-love focus and help women be brave and choose life. Since then, thousands of women have gone through the Embrace Grace program and were put back on a path towards Jesus. In today's episode, Amy and Sammie talk about what it means to be proactive and pro-life. Here are some things we mentioned in the episode: Help Her Be Brave - Take a quiz to learn how you can use your gifts to get involved in the pro-life movement! // And, find the book here. Big Idea: Christ, the only door to pure peace Problem: We lose peace by looking for it in things God gives us while pushing Him out. Solution: Embrace Grace, be reconciled to God, let Him heal you and all you love, enjoy peace Vision: Weary traveler; step through the door, into the flourishing garden of peace Steps to Change: 1. Pursue the good life of peace 2. Embrace Grace 3. Be Reconciled to God 4. Give Him All you have 5. He will return it all healed 6. Invite Him into it all 7. He will give you the good life of peace here until you are there Moment of All In: Surrender yourself and all you have to Him, the cost is high, but the reward is higher. "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Hey Marvelous Mom, Welcome to "Mom2Mom Mentoring," the podcast designed especially for busy Christian moms seeking encouragement and practical wisdom. In this episode, I will delve deeper into the life-changing concept of grace and how it can revolutionize your parenting and daily life. You will be encouraged with biblical truths about the One called GRACE and His invitation to us to rest. As a seasoned MOM MENTOR, I aim to keep things simple, because we are all busy women and don't need another long list of things to do. So, I break down the challenge of embracing grace into five easy steps. The Five A's to Embrace Grace: 1. Awareness: Recognize when you need grace. 2. Acknowledge: Admit your need for God's grace. 3. Ask: Seek God's help and guidance. 4. Apologize: Repent for the times you've rejected grace. 5. Accept: Fully receive God's abundant grace. This episode is packed with relatable stories, biblical wisdom, and practical steps to help you live in the freedom of God's grace. We can either live for the applause of people or nail-scarred hands — you just can't do both. We're going to be faced with opportunities to compromise our faith in order to please people. The Mule-Headed Prophet and the Missionary God - Part 2 - Here's Your Sign - When religious leaders asked Jesus for a sign that He truly spoke for God, He offered them only “the sign of Jonah.” When Jonah went into that fish for three days, it changed him. He had resisted God's grace when it meant salvation for people he hated, but now it meant his own salvation. If we don't embrace grace, we'll never live missional lives. (Titus 1:1-4) Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, to Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. THE MEASURE OF GRACE (2 Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! THE MEASURE OF GRACE God's grace transforms! THE MEANS OF GRACE The transformation comes through Christ! THE DURATION OF GRACE This transforming grace can never be exhausted! “Rest is not in knowing but in trusting. So many women who face unplanned pregnancies feel like the church is the last place they can go to for help, whether they are afraid of being judged or they feel there will be no support for them. While the church may be pro-life and has the power to have a huge impact, there has too often been a lack of practical, spiritual, and emotional support for abortion-vulnerable women. As today's guest says, “Pro-life is a stance. Pro-love is an action.”So how can we as the church empower women with unplanned pregnancies? How can we give real help that allows them to choose life? That's what Jordan and podcast guest Amy Ford talk about in this episode.Amy is the CEO of Embrace Grace, a ministry dedicated to equipping the church to provide support to women experiencing unexpected pregnancies.Tune in to learn: Amy's personal story of facing an unplanned pregnancy and experiencing church hurtThe difference between pro-life and pro-love and why our response needs to be more than a political voteWhat abortion statistics can teach us about how to support women walking through unplanned pregnanciesThe importance of reshaping our view of birth moms and abortion-vulnerable womenHow we can do a better job of supporting women on a practical, spiritual, and emotional levelWant to dig deeper into this topic? Hey everyone, guess what? We've hit a major milestone – it's our 200th episode, can you believe it? I am beyond thrilled, let me tell you! And guess who's joining me today? None other than my wonderful friend, Amy Ford, the powerhouse behind Embrace Grace, Inc. Embrace Grace exists to help inspire and equip the church to love and encourage single and pregnant young women and their families. Women experiencing unexpected pregnancies receive practical, spiritual, and emotional support through their global support groups. Through their message of love, they are helping women see that they can have their baby and their dreams too! Being pro-life is a stance, a belief system, a vote. And it's important. But being pro-love is an action, the boots on the ground, the hands and feet of Jesus, the church. Together, we can make abortion unthinkable. Don't miss this one!
