Allen and RD are knockin back Stone Delicious Double IPA by Stone Brewing. From the website:It's hard to improve on something with a well-deserved name like Stone Delicious IPA… unless of course you could double the Deliciousness. We're talking serious depth of flavor and an explosive aroma of lemon & tropical fruit from Centennial and Amarillo hops, all with less bitterness than a typical double IPA. The result is extra fruity, extra satisfying and extra Delicious.Tasting NotesFeatured Hops: Amarillo, Centennial & El DoradoFlavor Profile: Candied orange, Meyer lemon, caramel, ripe red apple, red and black licorice. Palate: Medium body, medium sweetness and then some bitterness on the finish. Appearance: Deep gold, clear, white fluffy head.Aroma: Strawberry shortcake, sweet lemon, honey, cherry skin.Overall: We have played around in the past with doing a double version of our Stone Delicious IPA. This one shares some attributes with Delicious but also is its own unique beer. At 9.4%, it drinks deceivingly smooth and really captures the complex layers of a Delicious IPA!Thanks for watching!---------------------------------------#beer #craftbeer #beerreview #beerpodcast #craftbeerreview #craftbeerpodcast #stonebrewing #ipa #doubleipa #strikeoutbeerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/strikeout-beer--2992189/support.

Yeast is arguably the most important ingredient in beer, and it's usually the least recognized, so we brought in the experts to chat about it. Richard and Nate, Co-Founders of Ontario's premier yeast establishment, Escarpment Labs, joined Cee and Nate to get hyper nerdy about yeast and what it exactly is, how yeast is created and how it interacts with the other ingredients in beer, how they came up with their Pink Boots yeast strain, how yeast helps retain haze, how they create a bank of yeast, how non-alcoholic yeast works, their merger with Le Labo in Quebec and the differentiation between the two companies, how they work with Lallemand yeast, why Canadian breweries should use Canadian yeast, how to make Vegemite with yeast, and why breweries should buy professional yeast for their beers. They got into some great beers using their products - Fairweather x BAOS Podcast Purish Kiwi Common,  Royal City x Escarpment Labs Luminance Double IPA, Royal City Mark It Zero Non-Alcoholic IPA, and Great Lakes Electric Spritz Hard Seltzer. For this Winter 2025 edition, we have a brand new brewery with a resurgent style; a fresh year-round from local legends; a collab “reverse” continuation from a previous episode; a bigger take than we've seen on a highly-debated style; and a hopeful return for one of our favorite hops. Send us a textFor this edition of Brewstilled, it's a recap of the Sunday slate of games for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL Season and The House of The Lombardi. The House of The Lombardi teams who played on Sunday had mixed results with some concerns also emerging. The Atlanta Falcons had a tough loss against the Pittsburg Steelers and Kirk Cousins had a tough game. Will Michael Penix Jr. replace Kirk Cousins before the season is over? The Jaguars lost to the Dolphins although potential does remain with Jacksonville. The Cowboys contract drama with Dak Prescott came to end as Prescott is now the highest paid player in NFL history. This was followed by a statement win for the Cowboys. Baker Mayfield also had a big game. Could Baker Mayfield be a sleeper MVP candidate? Jim Harbaugh also won in his debut game as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach against the Raiders, which had a player brawl. Could the Chargers and Raiders engage in a heated rivalry? How do the Raiders bounce back from their loss? The Lions and the Rams also faced off in a high stakes Sunday Night Football game. I'll be discussing all this here on Brewstilled with a Double IPA from Alchemist Brewing as the beer pairing. It's all here on Brewstilled!

Vince McMahon would probably gravitate towards bold, intense beers that match his larger-than-life personality. Here are a few types he might enjoy:1. **Imperial Stout**: With a strong, robust flavor and high alcohol content, an Imperial Stout is as intense as it gets. Perfect for someone who lives life in the fast lane.2. **Double IPA**: Vince would likely appreciate a Double IPA for its aggressive hops and higher bitterness, reflecting his no-nonsense approach to business.3. **Barrel-Aged Beer**: Anything aged in a bourbon or whiskey barrel would probably catch his eye—strong, complex, and not for the faint of heart.4. **American Strong Ale**: With its bold flavors and high ABV, this beer style is all about being big, brash, and unapologetic, much like Vince himself.5. **Champagne Beer**: Because you know Vince loves to flaunt his success, a beer with a bit of sparkle, like a champagne beer, might be his go-to when he's celebrating another WWE milestone. If he drinks beer at all, it would have to be as intense and in-your-face as he is! ★ Support this podcast ★

Send us a Text Message. For this episode of Brewstilled, it's a recap of HBO's House of The Dragon episode 3 from season 2. In episode 3, we see our characters each embark on their separate paths with their own goals and agenda. The war has yet to begin, but the tension in the realm is brewing and distilling as more houses who were on the fence are now choosing sides. Yet, there is also a desire to prevent the war all together. This episode was more surreal in some cases and we had a surprise meeting towards the end. I'll be recapping it here on Brewstilled with a Double IPA from Barrel Brothers Brewing Company as the beer pairing.

James Watt, the ingenious inventor, is often celebrated for his transformative contributions to the world of beer with his creation of the "Double IPA." Born in 1736 in Greenock, Scotland, Watt demonstrated a keen aptitude for innovation from a young age. His fascination with brewing and a desire to enhance the potency and flavor of beer led him to develop the Double IPA, a revolutionary advancement in brewing technology.Watt's Double IPA was a remarkable departure from traditional brewing methods. Drawing inspiration from the principles of steam power, Watt ingeniously harnessed the essence of hops and barley to create a brew that packed twice the hoppy punch and alcoholic strength of conventional ales. His pioneering techniques in fermentation and hop infusion resulted in a beer that was not only more robust in flavor but also boasted a higher alcohol content, delighting beer enthusiasts and brewers alike. The Double IPA, much like Watt's steam engine, sparked a revolution in the brewing industry. Its introduction marked a new era of brewing excellence, characterized by bolder flavors and heightened intoxicating effects. Watt's innovation catapulted the Double IPA to prominence, earning it a distinguished place in the pantheon of craft beers.Watt's legacy as the mastermind behind the Double IPA endures to this day, with breweries worldwide paying homage to his pioneering spirit by crafting their own interpretations of this beloved beer style. Through his ingenuity and vision, James Watt forever altered the landscape of brewing, leaving an indelible mark on the history of beer. ★ Support this podcast ★

Parish's Ghost in the Machine has become a juggernaut in the world of hazy IPA, earning accolades such as a 2019 Beer of the Year (https://beerandbrewing.com/the-best-19-beers-of-2019/) from Craft Beer & Brewing and a mention on critic Alex Kidd's top ten list in 2020 (https://beerandbrewing.com/critics-list-alex-kidds-best-in-2020/). Past isn't necessarily prologue for today's lager brewers, but it certainly is at Goldfinger Brewing (https://goldfingerbrewing.com) in Downers Grove, Illinois. A family history of brewing lager and manufacturing equipment for brewers in Poland and Czechia was just the kick that Tom Beckmann needed to pursue his dream of building a small, contemporary, lager-focused brewery. Now, as the brewery undertakes its next expansion, Beckmann is committed to widening the lager discourse, to showcasing the potential of both European and domestic ingredients in lager brewing, and to embracing flavor and character across a range of different lager styles. In this episode, Beckmann discusses: building on his family brewing history in Poland and Czechia designing and constructing a brewhouse for lager brewing step-mashing and decoction strategies for various pale lagers using sterile air rather than pure oxygen to reduce yeast stress cereal cooking vs. gelatinized adjuncts for certain lagers blending domestic and imported pils malt for the best flavor, performance, and price the tactile experience of different malts selecting Tettnanger hops for pils and Hallertauer Mittlefrüh for helles the fundamentals of Polish pils the American Zoigl project in conjunction with Live Oak, Urban Chestnut, and others And more.
