This week on Dave's Video Graveyard, Casey and Dave are joined by DVG royalty—Ben Sachse! That's right, the king has returned to help us dissect the 1995 sexy alien classic Species… because nothing says “cinema” like seductive extraterrestrials and questionable science. Our fearless trio dives headfirst into a swirling galaxy of babes, boobs, and badass alien mayhem. Expect some spicy Alfred Molina slander, some truly unhinged dream-casting, and all the usual chaotic nonsense you've come to tolerate—uh, love—from the show.Buckle up, humans. This week on DVG, Casey grabs the mic (and possibly the moral low ground) as the duo of poo-o dive headfirst into the delicious trainwreck that is TLC!Roddy Piper's wife-swapping, Dave's crying over lost “Snog Marry Avoid,” and more chatter about eating questionable things than anyone asked for. By the end, even the rails the show flew off have filed a missing persons report. So sit back with some delicious drywall and mattress snacks as things get yuck.Listen to us on itunes, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.or direct download the mp3 from the link below:https://www.buzzsprout.com/186739/episodes/17137274-casey-s-guide-to-reality-tv.mp3?download=trueStalk us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or send us your sweet nothings at davesvideograveyard@gmail.comSupport DVG and become a patreon supporter:https://www.patreon.com/Davesvideograveyard#moviepodcast #davesvideograveyard #thelearningchannel
This week on DVG, chaos reigns as Casey and Dave drag the wonderfully unhinged Peyton Rae back into the madness to make sure this episode goes completely off the rails. Together, they dive headfirst into the gloriously obnoxious 90s fever dream that is Drop Dead Fred—a film that's as loud, rude, and delightfully inappropriate as the podcast itself.Listen to us on itunes, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.or direct download the mp3 from the link below:https://www.buzzsprout.com/186739/episodes/17094078-drop-dead-fred-with-peyton-rae.mp3?download=trueFOLLOW AND SUPPORT PEYTON HERE:https://www.instagram.com/ppeyraeton/#Stalk us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or send us your sweet nothings at davesvideograveyard@gmail.comSupport DVG and become a patreon supporter:https://www.patreon.com/Davesvideograveyard#moviepodcast #davesvideograveyard #peytonrae
This week on Dave's Video Graveyard, Casey and Dave are back — and they've brought one of their most chaotic (and hilarious) guests, PEYTON Rae!The plan was to give you some solid movie recommendations... but, true to form, things spiral out of control fast. Casey forgot to do her homework (again), Dave can't figure out whose turn it is, and PEYTON? She's way too busy obsessing over DVG stickers to care. While there are some cool cool news items to talk too, there's also a certain Celebration taking place in Japan right now... As such we bring on a Star Wars expert Nick G who takes us through all latest Black Series and TVC goodness. Closer to home, we recap our local (and the best) Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair with it's April 2025 edition. Huge thanks as always to Brett and Sarah for their amazing work!
Yes, there is news to talk too - some of it huge. Like a certain huge dragon. Huge fundraisers. Huge SDCC ecto-glow announcement. Two huge properties join forces (gotta build 'em all). One huge Shredder (bro lifts). But bigger than ALL of those, is the unexpected parcel of absolute joy sent by our favourite Canadian, the one and only Colin Betts. This has to be seen (heard?) to be believed. In spite of some truely awful postage costs, comes so many gifts filled with attention to detail, insight, humor and most importantly, love. Colin - a huge thank you!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We are a couple of members down today so yes, it's a Lisa episode. Scot and Frank take the wheel to look at a new Origins reveal, some Latest Scores (where Scot goes BIG) but mainly wax on/off about the finale of Cobra Kai. Did they stick the landing or sweep the leg? How was Anthony Mackie's first solo run as Captain America? Hoe tough is it to integrate two cats into the same space? All these un-expected questions and more await! Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We're back f**kfarters! After an extended break Casey and Dave are back in the studio for the first time and if you think they've spent their time off trying to improve DVG then you are in for a huge disappointment! If anything they have gotten worst at what they do! Along for the ride is one of their favourite guests Vex to tolerate all the stupidness Casey and Dave can throw at her. Dave is convinced My Chemical Romance stole a hit from Coolio, Casey's sober and Vex is surely regretting coming back. This week Casey decided to get technical and attempt to record an episode via the internet with Wrestlerock's grumpiest man Criss Fresh, and the quality is almost as bad as the content. There's a slew of Marvel Legends and more Makina - but which colour is our fave? Is this the best version of Cringer Mattel has ever done? Is Beast Man lacking the furry factor? In a Marvel heavy episode, there's some controversial Mattel moves that are very not-rock-n-roll. The Todd makes a face that not even a mother could love while the Legends team somehow make two different He-Mans. And is that Battle Cat I see? Why is Wolverine in blue? Today on the Toy Power Podcast, we are joined by a special guest and fellow SA collector Damien. He's a rare breed of collector who manages to keep his passion for one line and one line only: the 80's classic Jem and the Holograms! It was a time of flashing earrings, shoulder pads and face-paint so Damien takes us through the brand from conception at Hasbro to production. What famous show (beyond on her own) was Jem attached too? Was she even called Jem to begin with? We love figures with multiple accessories, but Jem takes it to another level with a staggering amount of outfits in a dizzying amount of colours. But is it all about the fashion, or the music? Or the Keytar?? Learn about the 80s corporate espionage and subterfuge that was Jem vs Barbie – it was big big money, so much so, one former employee banked some serious coin: and it might not be who you think! Can you have a love-triangle with two people? Hey, it was the 80s… We also get to peek at some seriously rare product – stuff you will literally never see again! Like many other 80s brands, is there a big reboot in the works? Then it's a quick round of Reading Watching Playing featuring Netflix, ABC Kids and a a book that reads to its author? Today is a day unlike any other - Dave and Casey invade Toy Power the same way Guile and his commandos storm M.Bison's fortress. That's right, we are talking about the 1994 Street Fighter movie. So it seems like the perfect time to allow swearing and smut! No holds barred here as we play in the DVG sandbox with all the hilarity and chaos it's known for. Not much toy talk here, but plenty of laughs to awkwardly explain to your loved ones. Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Because variety is the spice of life, we invited Dave and Casey along for todays ride! Yes there are some news topics to talk through (including PulseCon reveals) but it's the review you've all been waiting for: TMNT Mutant Mayhem. Made slightly trickier by the fact Casey hasn't seen it, but that doesn't stop us from having a good time! What did the Turtles fan-boys in the room all think? But most curiously, what did the renowned Turtles hater Producer Scot have to say about it? Next weeks ep will also be a true cross-over with the loveable duo, but done in DVG stylings so consider yourself naughty word pre-warned!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's news day have we our usual selection McFarlane, HasLabs and more to get through. Did the Ghost make the finish line? And will a new Marvel project meet the fate of the infamous Ghost Rider? Mattel let the fans decide and there are some decisions to be made – some more obvious than other. Brian Flynn makes Frank's year (and indeed his wallet cry) while another toy seems to bear his very name. Speaking of named things, tonight we drinking something special… Then it's over to latest scores and the merry-go round of toy swapping and buying even from within the four of us proving once and for all, that all good things come to those who wait!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Davey sticks around and is here to carry the show as we delve into the world of 80s cartoons. Ready your sugar-high cereal, blanket and remote-less TV as we prepare to park it on the shag-pile brown carpet and relive our favourites. Which cartoon had too much singing in it? Best intro? Best voice and music? Is Scot's childhood dependence a little too much? All the controversial opinions are here. Does Ren and Stimpy hold up? Ben reports in. Then Colin Betts delivers the good - literally - from far off Canadia in classic style.Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we have a MASSIVE show organised for you! As we attempt to cover almost all the wonderful news & reveals from the juggernaut that is San Diego Comic-Con! We have a small batch of Pre-Con news, and then we get stuck into the Con headlines - breaking them down into Company Brands. Kicking off with Mattel, (with a bonus breakdown from Criss Fresh on all things Wrestling); then Super7, Mondo, Nacelle, Neca, Hasbro, McFarlane & Mezco. We have not one, but two "Shut-Up-And-Take-My-Money!" sizzle reels! Then we rate the overall Companys display presence against each other - who was the overall best in our opinion? Plus an interesting convo about if we even missed the Hollywood cinematic side of things this year? This is probably our longest episode to date; so strap in as we break it all down for you! Death Valley Girls - What Are the Odds from the 2023 album Islands in the Sky on Suicide Squeeze. Los Angeles-based garage rockers Death Valley Girls are releasing their fifth record Islands in the Sky on February 24th via Suicide Squeeze. The follow-up to 2020's Under the Spell Of Joy was recorded in a cabin in the California woods in early 2022 following a “mysterious illness” that left frontwoman Bonnie Bloomgarden bedridden from November 2020 to March 2021 which inspired much of the record. “When I was sick I had to sleep most of the day,” Bloomgarden details in a press release. “I kept waking up every few hours with an intense message to take care of the island, feed the island…I have no idea why, but making music for the island kept coming up.” Our Song of the Day is the lead single off the record “What Are the Odds,” a rollicking riff-ripping scorcher that takes its inspiration from an unlikely source: Madonna. “In ‘I'm A Man Too' we were trying to revisit No Doubt's ‘I'm Just A Girl' but through a new lens,” explains Bloomgarden. “‘What Are The Odds' is in the same way an investigation/revisitation of Madonna's ‘Material Girl' but with a DVG spin.” She continues on to say, “We love to think about consciousness and existence, and we very much believe in some type of reincarnation, but also that this experience isn't linear, there isn't a past and future, there's something else going on! What is it? Is it a simulation, are we simulated girls??” The video for the song sees two versions of the band, one where they're black hoodie-clad amongst a dreary LA landscape and the other a technicolor dreamscape of them lounging at a pool with red beehives. Which one is the simulation is anyone's guess, but I'd personally rather live in the latter.
