Trois générations, trois rappeurs d’Atlanta, trois albums parus le même jour. Big Boi d’abord, toujours autant de style dans son rap, fidèle à lui-même 20 ans après, qui quitte l’influence pop de son dernier album pour revenir à un esprit funk, même si le grain de folie d’Outkast manque un peu. 2Chainz ensuite, avec un album bien construit et cohérent qui synthétise son style musical de la dernière décennie sans nostalgie mal placée. Lui le sidekick de tous les poids lourds du rap, arrive à sortir un album de vieux qui parle aux jeunes, qui rappelle qu’il joue un rôle bien plus important que celui du featuring parfait. Young Thug enfin, réalise quelques fantasmes country dans une succession de singles plus qu’un album qui mettent en avant sa voix unique. Toujours à la recherche d’une performance vocale, dans sa tentative de fluidifier sa musique et d’épurer sa musique, il propose une démonstration de possibilités de musique pop à travers le rap, Subtil, mais un peu en dessous de ses précédentes productions.
