Episode Description: On this special St. Patrick's Day episode of Nonsense, FNBob goes all out in green while kicking things off with a double “One's Got to Go” featuring Green Villains (Shego, Green Goblin, Riddler, Leprechaun) and Green Heroes (Beast Boy, Yoda, Link, Piccolo). Then, we dive into FNBob's Chicago St. Paddy's adventures before somehow ending up in a tech debate—Henvincible is in the market for a new gaming PC while FNBob stays loyal to his Asus ROG Ally X. Next, it's a nostalgic trip through Disney Channel Original Movies, with classics like Luck of the Irish, Double Teamed, and Full-Court Miracle. Finally, we break down the greatest movie trilogies and why Hollywood still can't make a good video game movie (seriously, why is this so hard?). From chaotic debates to childhood nostalgia, tech talk, and St. Paddy's shenanigans, this episode is all over the place in the best way possible! Episode Highlights:

Fortunately for his team, Alex finds a new coach who his friends believe to be a modern day Judah Macabee- talk about a miracle! Lucas and Jacob are ill-equipped to discuss the very normal DCOM topics of Jewish teens, basketball, and the reincarnated ghost of Judah Maccabee?! Full-Court Miracle is truly a Hanukkah miracle! Wikipedia plot synopsis of Full-Court Miracle
Rabbi Kolakowski describes his Chaplain duties in prison during Christmas, stressing the importance of injecting positivity to the inmates at a time when suicide incidents spike dramatically. Rabbi Kivelevitz conjectures that Kolakowski's youthful celebration of the Holiday, growing up as a child in an interfaith home, has helped him relate to the prisoners with an understanding of how important this time is.The pair discuss Santa Claus's easy accessibility for children to latch on to as a figure of hope as opposed to comprehending the theological riddle that is Jesus. The Chaplain alludes to the fascinating, winding. Capitalistic historical road that has morphed a Third century Turkish Monk into the Kris Kringle figure of today.Y.K.'s Chanukah/X-Mas Movie recommendations this week are, Disney Channel's 2003 basketball-losers feel good flick, Full Court Miracle , along with Yehuda Wurtzel's 1983 animated near-classic Lights: A Story of Chanukah ,featuring the voice talents of Judd Hirsch and Leonard Nimoy, and the thought provoking short historical drama The Eighth Day which highlights the conflict between assimilationist and traditional Judaism, whose roots can be traced to the period of the Misyavnim.A.K.'s list of Chanukah (Jewish identity preserved or watered down in the face of modern pressure)films/TV programs are Rod Serling's1971 Night Gallery episode,The Messiah of Mott Street, featuring a powerful turn by Edward G. Robinson as a dying Jewish man who experiences a Christmas miracle, which suggests that distinct ethnic Judaism can and should be subsumed in the Unitarian Christian message of brotherly love.Kivelevitz contrasts this early 70's entry to a program aired 25 years later, a fourth season X-Files episode ,Kaddish, which emphasizes Jewish particularism and the mysterious unknowable essence of what forged our identities and keeps us distinct ,feared and in some corners, hated. As an example of the Jewish conceit of the middle part of the twentieth century that "we yidden" would act as moral agents of change in an increasingly decadent western society, Kivelevitz points to the standout performance of Jack Kruschen in Billy Wilder's masterpiece, The Apartment, and its coda of "being a mensch", which is promoted by Wilder and his co-writer I.A.L. Diamond, as the main credo of Judaism as embodied by Kruschen's humorous, heroic, wise Doctor Dreyfus. In the open discussion that always ensues, the pair make reference to the two versions of The Jazz Singer, the original from1927 ,and the Neil Diamond remake from 1980,as well as regretting not adding Disney's The Absent-Minded Professor to the foiled wedding list films from the last episode, and Kivelevitz's tributes to the unique(Jewish) personas that were Ed Wynn and Andy Kaufman. Kolakowski is the Facility Chaplaincy Program Director at the The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart, Pennsylvania. The institution is a medium security prison facility housing 1,100 inmates and a 120 bed Forensic Treatment Center, which provides inpatient psychiatric treatment in a secure setting for adult male offenders.Kolakowski is the first Rabbi in the history of the Commonwealth to serve as head chaplain in a state prison.Prior to his present position, he served pulpits and chaplaincy positions in Virginia and Upstate New York. The Rabbi has emerged as a talented speaker in areas of religion, politics, spirituality, popular culture, history, and interfaith affairs. He has created an extremely popular YouTube channel with thousands of followers.Kolakowski unashamedly recounts his personal history. While his mother was raised in a Modern Orthodox home in Queens, his father is a devout Roman Catholic. He had a bris in an Orthodox synagogue but was also baptized in a Catholic church. His maternal grandparents encouraged him to have a bar mitzvah in their Orthodox Shul which spurred the young Kolakowski to adopt a frum lifestyle. At eighteen, he spent a year in a Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, whose environs drew him into Hasidic practice and philosophy .Kolakowski went on to study for and receive semichah at Yeshiva Or Kedoshim Biala in Brooklyn. He recognized the need to obtain a B.A. in psychology from Lander College for Men .Hearing the call to become a communal leader, he matriculated to Touro College for a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Rabbinics and Synagogue Management in conjunction with the National Council of Young Israel and the Young Israel Council of Rabbis.Rabbi Kolakowski's English translation of sefer Seder HaYom by the late Biala Rebbe was published in 2006 in Israel to wide acclaim. He can be reached at josephkolakowski@gmail.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It's Wednesday, my dudes, and we're back with another episode of Completely Unqualified! Today, we're reviewing the movie-musical La La Land (2016), recommended by Lindsey's good friend, Paige. This heartbreaking romance is one that had both Randi and Lindsey crying in their respective clubs. Listen to Episode Seven now to hear Lindsey say "love isn't real" and "quote-on-quote" at least 100 times each and Randi claim that she has never failed in her life. We're sorry if you happen to hear some background construction noises or loud car engines in today's episode - unfortunately, Lindsey and Randi tried recording at normal-human hours (like noon) instead of in the middle of the night, resulting in typical city sounds for your enjoyment. Write in your own movie recommendation to Completely Unqualified's email if you'd like Randi and Lindsey to review a film of your choice one day: completelyunqualifiedpc@gmail.com. For next week, we picked Mike's film recommendation - Full-Court Miracle (2003) - in the spirit of the holiday season. An episode on Chanukah for the first chapter of a tractate all about Passover? Well, Chanukah doesn’t have its own tractate, and you deserve something fun before you spend 4 months learning everything about the official holiday of Jewish anxiety. So, how was Chanukah celebrated in America before Adam Sandler and Full Court Miracle? Why was the word “presents” the first English word to be printed in Yiddish-language newspapers in America?Dr. Dianne Ashton is Professor of Religion Studies and former director of the American Studies program at Rowan University. It's time to start off the holiday season with a review of Disney Channel's only Hanukkah movie, Full-Court Miracle. Why the only Hanukkah movie is also a sports movie is a good question that we don't know the answer to besides the fact that it provides the opportunity for miracles to occur on a full court. Anyways, Michael is happy to have some representation while simultaneously wondering why a ghost would have bad knees. Meanwhile, Kelly hopes not to turn into a DCOM mom. Breonna Taylor was murdered by police officers who were not held responsible for such. As I looked for more information to provide on what to do to help this situation I came across this article that proves police did have their body cams on for SOME of the night they murdered Breonna Taylor, and it makes you wonder what else has intentionally been hidden: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/v7gwyy/new-body-cam-footage-raises-questions-about-breonna-taylor-death-investigation I saw this tweet about donating to bail funds explaining The Bail Project is transparent in the spending of their funds when sometimes other Bail Funds are not: https://twitter.com/sheherp/status/1308952448288071685 Donate: https://bailproject.org/ I don't really know what else to say here. When a Jewish school team is in trouble, their only hope may come from where they least expect it: tired racial tropes.Maia and Adair break down Full-Court Miracle. This is a movie that taught us it’s ok for your child to want different things in than you, age-blind casting is apparently a thing, and that at least one of your hosts doesn’t understand basketball.
The thing about pilot episodes and holiday specials is that they're rarely actually any good. So join the Dunces in a special kind of stupid as they dribble their way though the hit Disney Channel original film "Full-Court Miracle" in this double whammy of a world premier episode. Oy vey!
