Consumers are being warned that the cost of food is set to rise even further. The warning comes after new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) revealed a surge in the prices that processors are paying farmers. CSO statisticians said that overall prices paid to farmers for their produce in the year to March had jumped by 20pc, leading to fears that food inflation will get worse. For more on this Alan Morrissey has been speaking with Patrick O'Donohue, Co-Owner of the Monks Restaurant in Ballyvaughan and Eddie Punch, Former General Secretary of the ICSA and Cratloe Farmer. Broken, crushed, smashed. Dominated by a superior will. Submission to a despot. These are not extracts from the North Korean Constitution, or the playbook of some kinky sex cult, but the “divinely inspired” ministry of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. Today we bring daylight to some of the darkest perversions of Christianity devised by these self-procIaimed mainstream Christians. Religious Trauma expert Sam, our own much loved Lindy, and Dennis Wragge join us as we discuss spiritual abuse, and how our personal spiritual experiences change and develop when we escape from the thought police and blindness of an all-powerful cult and experience the freedom of enjoying spirituality each in our own way.Link for insiders- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ELyaswRd8rLPbfMepxYmBsYeaoq0wa8f/view?usp=sharingLink to GoFundMe for ICSA conference-https://gofund.me/36f27545Link to websites and discussions in podcast-https://www.icsahome.com/https://www.thereligioustraumacollective.com/https://www.hopevalleycounselling.com/abouthttps://janjalalich.com/https://www.recoveringfromreligion.org/#rfr-welcomehttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/44224521-escaping-the-maze-of-spiritual-abuseSam and Gillie Jenkinson podcast- https://youtu.be/GKKFKzBYP8Y?si=-nqkY2Qr8PgvENl2Lindy and Gillie Jenkinson podcast- https://youtu.be/ctWqHY48Dfk?si=0q4qZZy5hDwNWqenTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06PayPal link for USA- https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8Tz4n35OJ8Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Faith in Practice document- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/j3jsediontgltrjn9o7vr/Core-Doctrine-Faith-in-Practice-highlighted.pdf?rlkey=izmqxvfqwg1hg2q5r9lkofvre&st=ozuls0gp&dl=0https://web.archive.org/web/20241011154325/https://theplymouthbrethren.org.uk/beliefs/faith-in-practice/Aberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=sharingIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Welcome to the H.J. Talks About Abuse podcast, presented by the Hugh James abuse team. In this episode, led by Alan Collins, the head of the abuse team, we delve into the pressing issue of grooming gangs. Despite criticisms of the term, the episode confronts the harsh realities of young girls being targeted by predators and the criminal activities often accompanying these abuses. Alan highlights the often-overlooked correlation between grooming and broader criminal networks, such as county lines. The discussion pushes for a national inquiry into grooming gangs, questioning the sufficiency of local inquiries and drawing from past investigations like the Rotherham and ICSA reports. The episode calls for a deeper understanding of the systemic issues that allow such crimes to persist, despite existing safeguarding recommendations and government intentions. Through legal expertise and personal insights, this podcast aims to empower survivors and provoke thought on how society can better address and prevent these tragic crimes. Tune in to explore the necessity of comprehensive national action against grooming gangs and the importance of keeping accurate data to confront these challenges effectively. A Clare farming representative is calling on the government to reassure international markets of the standard of Irish Beef. It comes as China has suspended exports from Ireland following the the detection of atypical BSE in a dead cow that arrived in the country this week. BSE which is a progressive neurological disorder was last detected in Irish Cattle in 2020 and resulted in the country being locked out of the Chinese market for the next three years. Cratloe based General Secretary of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association Eddie Punch has been telling me that while any disruption to trade is dissapointing, this case is not expected to have a long term burden for local producers.

John Hunter PhD continues his fascinating explanation of the processes used in Large Group Awareness Trainings (LGATs). We begin with the ominously named Elaboration Likelihood Model, which explores how likely it is that someone will think before acting. John touches on Daniel Kahneman's System One - quick thinking - and System Two - considered thinking. He talks about the 'philosophically pompous' statements found in LGAT literature and their demand that people put their experience above their reasoning. John is at the leading edge of research into authoritarian cults. John's PhD here and his ICSA presentation buy Jon's Tao Te Ching here

The Clare-based General Secretary of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmer's Association says the increase in fuel costs is leading to rising food prices. Under Budget 2024, a number of relief measures have been extended to improve the sustainability of farming as a profession for individuals and families. Although, Finance Minister, Michael McGrath has also annouced an increase in the carbon tax but has delayed the further fuel rises until April and August 2024, during peak silage season. Cratloe farmer, Eddie Punch, says the government must reconsider their fuel policies or else food will continue to be more expensive.

The Clare based chair of the Irish Cattle & Sheep Farmers Association claims farmers are being unnecessarily penalised by environmental measures. It comes as the European Commission looks set to reduce the maximum stocking rate for nitrate derogation to 220kg per hectare in an a bid to protect natural water sources from potential agricultural pollution. Large patches of farmland throughout the country will be subject to the new rules, despite reports from Teagasc experts that the directive won't improve water quality and will cut dairy profits by as much as 30%. Cratloe farmer Eddie Punch believes the move is short-sighted and will result in significant financial burdens.

Ashley Hilliard is a cult intervention specialist helping families with loved ones in cultic or high-control groups or relationships and is the face behind People Leave Cults. She completed her MSc in the Psychology of Coercive Control in early 2022 and conducted research on the relationship between reproductive coercion, psychologically abusive environments, and the extent of group identity in a sample of those who have left cultic groups. Ashlen has previous experience working for multiple non-profit settings in the field of cult recovery. Most recently, this has included working as Director of Events for the International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA). During that time, she facilitated workshops, webinars, and conferences for those in touch with multiple aspects of the cult phenomenon including therapists, former members, legal professionals, media representatives, academics, and others. Previous to her work with ICSA, she also worked as a case manager in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the non-profit Holding Out Help, where she was involved in the front lines of helping individuals leaving diverse polygamist communities out West. She currently enjoys living in Portland, Oregon where she is a volunteer co-organizer of the Spiritual Abuse Forum for Education (SAFE) Meetup for those who have left or are considering leaving high-demand religious groups in the local community. In this insightful conversation, Rachel catches up with her colleague and learns more about how her upbringing in a high-control religious environment impacts the work she does today. Together Rachel and Ashley compare notes on the emotional complexities of cult intervention and the plight of cult survivors and their families, offering up nuanced thoughts on methods for healthy recovery. Before You Go: Rachel expands upon Ashlen's chameleon metaphor, explaining why blending in in different environments can be so beneficial for those who've lived under coercive control.
