Monday, 8 July 2024 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: Matthew 1:1 For this commentary, the main verse at the top of each commentary will be from the NKJV. However, at the beginning of the body of each commentary, a personal (literal) translation will be provided as well. This personal translation will be used for the analysis of the commentary. “Scroll: Genealogy Jesus Christ, Son of David, Son of Abraham” (CG). The book of Matthew begins with a genealogical record of the lineage of Jesus Christ. This is something that is found throughout the Old Testament as well. Genealogies were meticulously kept by the Hebrew scribes, ensuring that the people were recorded according to their family lines, whether in the nation of Israel or – at times – had a bearing on the nation (e.g., see Genesis 5:1, Genesis 25:12, Genesis 36:1, Genesis 46:8, etc.). Genealogies were kept, thus ensuring those of the nation were eligible for inclusion in the society (Numbers 1:17-19, etc.), entitled to certain inheritances (Numbers 26:33, etc.), authorized for certain duties (Numbers 3:17, etc.), restricted from various rights or entitlements (Deuteronomy 23:2), etc. In the case of Israel's Messiah, certain requirements were necessary. He was to be of the seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18), of Isaac (Genesis 17:19), of Jacob (Genesis 25:23), of Judah (Genesis 49:10), and of David (2 Samuel 7:12-16). Above all other reasons, the maintaining of the genealogical records from Adam until the coming of Christ were meticulously kept ensuring to us that the Messiah could be absolutely identified when He appeared. So sure is this, that after His coming, the genealogical records of Israel were destroyed when the temple was burned in AD70. As this is so, the only source for the genealogies of the nation and the world are maintained in the pages of the Bible. And the full genealogical record of only one Jew remains to this day, Jesus Christ. Understanding this, and because His genealogy is recorded in the pages of Scripture, He alone can be identified as Israel's Messiah. No other person before or after can make the absolute claim, directly from Scripture, that Jesus can. Indeed, apart from this genealogy, prophecies were uttered as recorded in Scripture identifying the timing of His coming, the things that He would do, and the events that would happen to Him. The fulfillment of those prophecies is carefully recorded in the pages of the New Testament to definitively identify this One individual as bearing the right to the claim of being Israel's Messiah. In Matthew's genealogy, he begins with, “Scroll.” The Greek word is biblos, “Properly, the inner bark of the papyrus plant, i.e. (by implication) a sheet or scroll of writing – book” (Strong's). Matthew was making a concerted effort of compiling the genealogy of Jesus in order to ensure that the record was permanently maintained. Surely, this was inspired by the Holy Spirit to confirm that when all other Jewish records perished, there would be this and Luke's written account to safeguard – for all subsequent generations – the truth that Jesus did, in fact, descend from those who were given the promises in past times. Matthew, understanding intimately who Jesus is, then began his recorded scroll with the words, “Genealogy Jesus Christ.” Matthew was faithfully making a record as so many before him had faithfully done. In this case, the focus is solely on one Person, Jesus (Hebrew: Yeshua, Greek: Iésous). The name means Salvation. As noted in Thayer's Greek Lexicon – “Jesus יְהושֻׁעַ [Yehoshua] and according to a later form, יֵשׁוּעַ [Yeshua].” This later form was a common name at the time. However, Matthew continues with “Christ.” The Greek word is christos. The word has the same meaning as the Hebrew word mashiakh, Messiah. Both mean Anointed One. The anointing referred to does not necessarily speak of the coming Messiah. For example, Cyrus, King of Persia, was called mashiakh in Isaiah 45:1. However, in Matthew's account, he is specifically noting that Jesus is the true promised Messiah of Israel, the Christ of the world. To further establish this, he next records “Son of David.” It is a reference, as will continue to be seen in this record, to David, King of Israel. His name means Beloved. Matthew is purposefully tying Jesus into the genealogy of King David to begin his narrative in order to establish that Jesus is fully entitled to the rights of the Davidic throne as promised in 2 Samuel 7, referenced above. From there, he next records “Son of Abraham.” The meaning of Abraham is debated. In Genesis 17:5, it says – “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.” Though not all agree, his name is said to mean Father of a Multitude or something similar. Again, Matthew returns to a specific figure from Israel's past to ensure that the David who was first referred to is the same David who descended from Abraham. It is Abraham who received the promise given by God in Genesis 22:18, also referenced above. With this overall genealogy set, Matthew will “fill in the blanks” between these three in a unique way, demonstrating a wisdom that was prompted by the superintending guidance of the Holy Spirit. Life application: When the disciples were disheartened and thought that all was lost because of the crucifixion of Jesus their Lord, they were gathered together. At that time, just after hearing from two men who had seen the risen Lord, Luke records these words – “Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, ‘Peace to you.' 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, ‘Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.'” Luke 24:36-39 “Why do doubts arise in your hearts?” The words speak to us today. Why should we wonder if God is there? Why should we worry that things are out of control? Why should we be dispirited, disheartened, or dismayed as the world spins into chaos around us? And why should we doubt whether God is in control? One of the main reasons for the word of God is to ensure that we know that He has a plan, that it has been meticulously carried out since the very beginning, and that He will bring us safely to Himself because of what He has done. The carefully recorded words of Matthew are a part of that book, and they should fill us with the most joyous hope that when we trust in Jesus, we have trusted in the fullness of God's provision for making that restoration possible. We don't need to wonder, worry, or wobble in our faith. We also do not need signs or wonders to ensure to us that God is there with us. Rather, God has given us His word and He asks us to, by faith, accept that it is exactly what it is presented as. We are told by Paul that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Open your ears and listen. Open your hearts and receive. Open your minds and think! Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! He is God's provision. He is the Messiah of Israel and the Christ of the nations. Please pursue Him from His word each day and every day of your life. And please continue to join us as we analyze the book of Matthew for the next 2.94 years. We know you will be blessed as you do. Lord God, help us to spend our time wisely. May we carefully and meticulously research Your word so that our step in faith is not one into a dark tunnel, but one that is directly into Your revealed light. Your word, O God, is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. May we be willing to use it as such. And may doubts no longer arise in our hearts as we contemplate Your goodness in the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Luke 23:36-49: Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish [b]and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence. Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city [d]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

The post Road to Resurrection Part 9. Handle Me and See, Luke 24v1-48 appeared first on Calvary Chapel Crossover.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 29th of September, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Luke 24:38-39:And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." Holes in His hands - that's our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you suffering this morning? Are you crying out, "Lord, where are You? I need help." I want to say to you, no pain, no gain. We learn from the experiences we go through. One man of God said once, I will never forget it. He said, "If there is no crucifixion, there can be no resurrection."I remember it like yesterday, the 2009 Mighty Men Conference. It was the highlight of my life up until then, on the platform, preaching my heart out and what happened? I collapsed. I had two heart attacks, one under the platform and one in my little house. I lay on the lawn while the 911 helicopter came to collect me to take me to the hospital, and I was saying, "Lord, what is happening? This is the finest moment in my life. There are thousands upon thousands of men, waiting to hear the word." They had to cut the fence in my garden to get me out. It was a very traumatic time in my life but you see, those men prayed for me. I will never forget the helicopter circling the men, thousands of hands in the air, but Jesus healed me within 15 minutes. I want to say to you today, do not despair. The Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. He never promised you a rose garden, did He? But He did promise that He would walk with you and me through the fire like He did with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Have a look at it in Daniel 3:25. Oh, but I want to tell you the good news! The good news was and is that there was a fourth man in the fire and He had a likeness unto the Son of God. My dear friend, Jesus is walking with you today through your fiery trial. Rest in Him and He will bring you through. He will not disappoint you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says very clearly: "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Jesus bless you and goodbye.

Written to combat Gnosticism. A Preoccupation with deliverance from the flesh dualistic view of man [matter was evil and spirit was good]. · Matter is inherently evil. It was Peter's task to talk about the kingdom of God, Paul about the church of God, but John is concerned with the family of God, to bring them back to the basics of truth. He was a net mender One is in the passage just read, Verse 4. “And we are writing this that your joy may be complete.”….Answers the fear of loneliness Then in Chapter 2, Verse 1, he says, “My little children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin.”… the problem of guilt. And in Chapter 2, Verse 26, he gives us the third reason: “I write this to you about those who would deceive you.”… that we might be free from deception. In Chapter 5, Verse 13, he gives us the fourth reason: “I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.”… I am writing this to assure you” – that you might find security, At the close of this letter John tells us, “He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life,” {1 Jn 5:12 RSV}. 1John 1:1-4 is a defense of the authenticity of the humanity of Christ, or the Test of Believing that Jesus has come in the flesh 1Jo 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 1Jo 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. He talks about A relationship, a fellowship, and a joy that follows. A relationship V1 John does not refer here to the absolute beginning of creation (Ge 1:1) but to the beginning of the message of Jesus Christ to the apostles Luke 24:39 “Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” 40 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.” The “Word” is Christ manifested as God's message. He reveals God. Hebrews 1: God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; “Of life” means life-giving. Jesus is both the messenger and the message. The message and the messenger are identical. V2 2 Peter 1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” A fellowship V3 Entering the eternal life of the Son will produce two results: 1) fellowship with fellow believers, and 2) fellowship with the Father and the Son. A Definition of fellowship There is, first of all, a partnership, i.e., the sharing of mutual interests, mutual resources, mutual labor together. God and I, working together, a partnership. All that I have is put at his disposal. But it is not only partnership, there is also friendship. Friendship and partnership together spell fellowship. Have you ever thought of this, that God desires you to be his friend? John 15:15 Jesus said to his disciples, “I have not called you servants, but I have called you friends,” John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” Jesus shows us the life that man is intended to live – a continual dependence upon the life of the Father. Look at the earthly life of Jesus and this is exactly what you see. He keeps saying, “I don't do these things, it's not I who accomplishes these works, it is the Father who dwells in me,” {cf, John 14:10}. He is continually reminding people that he says only what the Father is saying through him that they are not his words, he simply looked to God and trusted God to be working through him, leading him to think the thoughts and to say the things that God wanted him to say. In doing this he expressed exactly the mind of God. It is that life that John is talking about, a new way of living, a new way of reacting to situations in dependence upon God. And that is what makes a Christian, to share the life of God by relationship to a Person, the only Person who has that life, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. A Joy That Follows V4 Then, when you have fellowship, you have the third thing that John mentions. These things we are writing, he says, “that your joy may be full.” Joy is a kind of quiet inner excitement and this is what results when we really experience the fellowship that John is talking about. When we discover that God is actually When we discover that God is actually using us, it is the most exciting and joy producing experience possible to men. Jer. 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. There is a difference between happiness and joy. Happiness depends on what happens; that is, it depends on circumstances. If our circumstances are good, then we are happy. However, if our circumstances are poor, then we are unhappy. However, joy is independent from circumstances. Circumstances cannot affect our relationship with God. Song…It's real, it's real, thank God it's real John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLEJOHN 20:19-24 (NKJV) Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence. - Devotion - Hymn 364 - O For a Faith That Will Not Shrink: vv. 5 & 6 - Blessing - Postlude Service Participants: Rev. Dr. Tom Kuster (Preacher), Nathan Wildauer (Organist)
Rev. Dr. Tom Kuster was preacher for this service. Luke 24: 36-43: Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.
Luke 24:33–53 (NKJV)33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”40 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence.44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things.49 “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.40 days after many post resurrection appearances of Jesus is a risen body —-He left His followers and physically went to the spirit world — and remains there until He comes again.

Summer break! Time to replay one of my most downloaded episodes. In 2018, I invited David Rudolf onto the show because of the communication excellence he demonstrated as Michael Peterson's attorney in 'The Staircase' on Netflix. But when listening to our conversation again nearly two years later, I'm equally impressed by David's personal leadership. He has a strong sense of purpose (fighting the Abuse of Power), he's very open about his strengths and weaknesses and how they impact others (sometimes it almost seems like he's citing a 'How to Handle Me' memo) and he's well tuned into his feelings, for example when selecting jurors or when deciding whether he has prepared enough to do well in court. In our conversation, David shares many great anecdotes from his more than 40 years as an attorney. He also talks about the strategies he uses during cross examination, why transparency is key in bad news conversations and how he's able to perform at his peak when the stakes couldn't be higher. For more detailed information about this episode, visit the original show notes on www.meetingstrategist.org/david-rudolf And if you enjoy listening to David Rudolf, he has his own podcast now. In 'Abuse of Power', David and co-host Sonya Pfeiffer spotlight cases of significant injustice, which often result in a wrongful prosecution or conviction. The fear of death can be haunting and crippling...the Bible calls it a "lifetime bondage". But it is a bondage Jesus came to deliver us from...and He Has!!! This message will focus on how to overcome the fear of death through Christ. Sermons Archive RSS Hebrews 2:14-15 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. First, then, WHERE SHALL WE LOOK TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE FEAR OF DEATH? The answer is, beloved, that you must look for that where you are bound to look for everything, namely, TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, for there is no true deliverance from the fear of death except by looking unto Him whose death is the death of death! — Spurgeon Acts 2:32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.Acts 3:15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.Acts 4:10, 20 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole…. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”Acts 5:29-32 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. 31 Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”Luke 24:36-43 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” 40 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence.John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.Hebrews 2:15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.John 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Remember, also, that death will not separate us from the love of Christ, nor from Christ Himself. He is with us now and He will be with us then. And after death we shall be with Him forever! He loves us today and He will love us tomorrow. He will love us all our lives. He will love us in death and He will love us throughout eternity! …If the pangs of death could separate the members of Christ’s mystical body from their head, it would be death, indeed. If that grievous sorrow could divide the heart of Jesus from the heart of His elect, then might we dread to die, but it is not so! If death makes any difference to us, the bonds that unite us to Christ shall become still firmer and the revelation of Christ shall become yet brighter and Jesus shall be nearer and dearer to us in our departure from earth than He ever was before! — Spurgeon Remember, too, that death is attended by very special comforts…. “You do not need dying grace till dying moments come!”… There was truth in that observation! I may say to myself, “Do I feel, now, that I could die calmly or even triumphantly?” I may put the question if I like, but it is hardly a fair one, for I am not yet called to die! Yet my experience and observation of others lead me to believe that very remarkable grace is often given to believers in their last hours. I have seen the timid become stronger than the brave! I have seen the retiring become more bold than the courageous! And I have known some who seemed to be almost dumb, before, speak with matchless utterance! And some, whose faces have been lit up with supernatural joy, who before appeared to be amongst the doubting and the trembling ones of Christ’s family. There are choice revelations, special manifestations, nearer approaches to Christ, wider outlets of love from Him and greater inlets into the soul of the brightness of His presence in those times, than ever before! When the body is strong, it often seems like a thick wall that shuts out the light. But when disease comes and shakes the tenement, it makes great rifts in wall and roof, and through those rifts the light of God comes streaming in as it had never come in before! I never can doubt the truth of our holy faith, or the reality of religion after what I have witnessed at the deathbeds of the Lord’s people. — Spurgeon
On today's episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches delves deeper into the one thing that is needful as she continues this series. Dr. Funches wants everyone listening to this series to reap all the benefits. She invites you to listen to each episode in this series if you have not heard them. First, Dr. Funches reviews the messages from the first three parts of this podcast series, about the Old Covenant of Moses and the New Covenant of Grace in Jesus Christ that replaces the Law. She reviews in the Word of God how the Old Covenant is replaced by the New Covenant and she shares two ways God gives Christians the faith to believe. Dr. Funches reads from the Word that faith to believe comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ. Next Dr. Funches explores through the Word what it means to get at the feet of Jesus and hear His Word. Dr. Funches compares the experiences of the women at the tomb, the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and the boldness of Peter and John, through the Word of God. Finally, Dr. Funches invites you, the Christian believer to see Jesus, not in flesh and bone at this time, but in hearing the Word of God. Please listen in for instruction from the Word of God. KEY BIBLE VERSES [6:29] Romans 10:17, NASB 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. [8:36] John 1:1-4, 14, NKJV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. [10:36] Luke 24:13-27, NKJV 13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained so that they did not know Him. 17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” 18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?” 19 And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” 25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He]expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. [26:36] Luke 24:36-45, NKJV 36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence. 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. [31:36] Romans 10:17, NASB 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. [33:25] Acts 4:13, 17, 19-20 NKJV 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Please visit DrFunches.com for more information and ways to get involved in this ministry. “I love you! I can't wait to speak to you again! Until next time, God bless you and keep you.”

Geoff Woods talks to us about focusing on The ONE Thing that will get us to our ultimate goal, discusses how to surround ourselves with the 5 people that will help us achieve our goal, and how to get our loved ones on board with our ideas. He takes us through the defining moments in his life that lead him to make the change that landed him where he is today. He was scared, but he did it. He got out of his comfort zone and THAT is when the real change happens. He went from working a 9 to 5, to starting a The Mentee podcast to get to surround himself with his 5 people, to now working side by side with The One Thing co-authors Jay Papasan and Gary Keller, founder of Keller Williams Realty. “We are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with”- Jim Rohn. Stop and think for a minute…who are your five people? That’s who you are. Are those people already living the life you want to be living? Do they have the types of marriages and careers you want? Are they making the type of income you want to be making? Now that you know, what are you going to do about it? We may not know how to change our lives right now, but we can sure change our 5. And to get to those 5, you have to identify them and give them added value consistently before they help you. What do you mean by added value consistently? It’s like going to the bank, opening an account and asking for a withdrawal. You haven’t made a deposit, you can’t take the money. Same in life. Most people live life taking and taking, without adding value to it. The people Geoff started surrounding himself with and going to networking events with, did not show up to take. They showed up to give of themselves. Ask yourself when you meet someone “what are they struggling with and how can I help them?” How do you get your loved ones to join you on your journey? We all want to inspire and empower our loved ones on our journey but it doesn’t work. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t force them to drink. The best thing we can do is to be the best, most authentic version of ourselves with them. Don’t try to force your ideas into them. Once you are the best version of yourself, others become interested and start asking questions. Yes, we get it. This sounds great in theory, but how can this really be applied to our lives? Listen in to Geoff as he shares with us his story and next step recommendations. His story is an inspiring one you don’t want to miss. How do you identify your 5? Geoff and Jennifer do a roll play for Geoff to teach us how to figure this out. First you have to get clear on where you are going. Where you want to be. Because you’ll want to find the people that have an expertise in the area that will get you to your ultimate goal. Then, you talk about it. We are all connected to everyone in the world by 6 degrees. When you share your goal with every single person, someone will get you in touch if they’re not that person already. Then, you play where the players play. Go to a media conferences, mastermind, events in your area of interest…. And you add value. Our ultimate goals and top 5 changes all the time. No habit gets stacked at the same time as another one. Only pick one habit at a time. Two won’t habit at a time. Until it’s really a habit. Geoff’s 3 Habits to Ensure His Success Journey: Doing the ONE most important thing first thing every single day. Before emails, texts, before saying hello, before coffee, etc. Spending 15 minutes of uninterrupted quality time with family. Meditate every day at least for at least 1 minute. Geoff’s Morning Routine: He has a newborn, so there is no real morning routine. But prior to baby, this is what it was: Do his ONE thing. Meditate. Moment of gratitude. 15 Day Fat Loss Kick Start Ebook Download your FREE copy here!! DOWNLOAD! Check your email. You will receive access for instant downloading. These songs, characterized by their irresistible beats and unique collaborations, became anthems for dance floors worldwide. Shakira, known for her distinctive blend of Latin and pop music, teamed up with British rapper Dizzee Rascal to deliver "Loca" (Freemasons Mixshow). The Freemasons, a production duo renowned for their dance remixes, added their signature touch to the track, contributing to its position among the top dance songs of 2010. Far East Movement's "Like A G6" (Cahill Mixshow) was another standout. The Los Angeles-based group, combined with the features from Cataracs & Dev and the remix skills of Cahill, resulted in a catchy electro-pop tune that dominated both the airwaves and the club scene. The top dance songs of 2010 also included hits from established pop icons such as Usher and Katy Perry. Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin ' In Love" (Jump Smokers Extended Mix) and "OMG" (Riva Starr Remix) were undeniable club anthems. Katy Perry's collaboration with Snoop Dogg on "California Gurls" (Liam Keegan Remix) offered a summery vibe that was a perfect fit for dance floors. P!nk's "Raise Your Glass" (Funk3d Remix) brought a rock-infused edge to the dance scene, while Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" (Stonebridge Club Remix) offered a blend of synth-pop and dance that resonated with listeners. Rihanna's "Hard" (Jody den Broeder Club Mix) demonstrated her versatility as an artist, and the remix by Jody den Broeder transformed it into an electrifying dance track. Other notable entries among the top dance songs of 2010 included Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull's Latin-infused "I Like It" (Cahill Club Mix), and Flo Rida's collaboration with David Guetta on "Club Can't Handle Me" (Fuck Me I'm Famous Remix). These tracks blended elements of pop, hip-hop, and dance to create engaging, high-energy tunes. The top dance songs of 2010 also showcased several unexpected dance hits. Bruno Mars, better known for his soulful pop melodies, had his track "Just The Way You Are" (Funk3d Remix) transformed into a dance anthem by Funk3d. Similarly, Cee Lo Green's "Fuck You" (Stonemasons Remix) saw the soulful original reworked into a dance-friendly version that resonated with club-goers. Finally, the top dance songs of 2010 were also marked by an impressive range of international influences. Edward Maya's "Stereo Love" (Molella Remix), with its iconic accordion riff and Vika Jigulina's haunting vocals, introduced a unique blend of Romanian folk music and modern dance...
