On this episode we talk about making art for artsake. Suzy convinces Jay to start a second career as an actor and demands I put myself in my own show. We also talk about Chicago, Crate and Barrel, reliving one year, old people holding tissues all the time, and the greatest show about masturbation ever created.Bio: Born and raised in Chicago, Suzy moved to Los Angeles where she began guest starring on television. She now has over 100 credits, including series regular roles on Go On, Help Me Help You, Dr. Ken and HBO's Avenue 5. In addition to her guest star roles, she has recurred on numerous episodics including The West Wing, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Goldbergs, Black-ish, Veep, Modern Family, Snowfall, and Dead to Me. Today's episode is the third part from my conversation with my agent from Buchwald Talent in LA. Marion came by and spoke to our virtual 10,000 NOs Insiders Community on one of our monthly VIP Zooms and the reaction to her our first two episodes from this convo (What Talent Agents Are Looking for In An Actor and Help Me Help You) were so well received that we cut this together to glean some more gems from her perspective. Marion points out that you don't need to be a social media influencer to be an actor (two very different things), gives some tips on giving a good meeting with an agent or manager, and covers many other topics in answering our members' questions in the Q & A portion of our talk. If you're an actor, I highly recommend. As with most of our guests who have, by now, found a foothold in this industry, hearing Pej's warmth, humility and grit is refreshing and yet another reminder that we are not alone in our struggles to get to the point where we are being paid to work on great material with great collaborators in this game of professional make-believe.10,000 NOs podcast is now in it's 2.0 phase: after a long pause from late 2021 to late 2023, it has returned in a more raw format: shorter episodes, like the Monday Morsels of yesteryear (they may be short, solo riffs by Matt on central themes of the pod, excerpts from Matt's 10,000 NOs Insiders Community Zooms, or excerpts from Insiders VIP sessions with VIPs from the entertainment interview and beyond). Be on the look out as, every now and then, we will likely drop some old school, long-form, classic 10,000 NOs interviews as bonus episodes. Prefer to WATCH (versus listen)? SUBSCRIBE to 10,000 NOs YouTube Channel HEREThe intent of this podcast is to remind people that they are not alone in their struggles. We aim to educate & inspire you with stories and conversations with others who have traveled a path that may look enviable now, but it was not always that way. It is not the critic who counts. If you've been knocked down... get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the arena. Welcome back! This week, I'm coming to you with a solo-episode to chit-chat about the BIG feelings we feel. Whether it's anxiety, fear, anger, feeling negative feelings can be a daunting and exhausting thing. To make this a little less daunting, I wanted to chat with you this week about where our big feelings come from, what they mean and how we can begin to navigate them. Negative feelings aren't a negative thing, they're just an indication of what needs more attention in your life. I hope this episode draws your attention to all the right things in your life, and that we can begin to heal together! Love you, thank you for listening! Tell me what you think, and leave the show a rating
Welcome Back to what seems like the most natural episode I've recorded on the podcast. I'm so excited for you to join in and listen. This week, I wanted to chat about the importance of Awe, and things that change our perspective on life, our "problems" and things of the sort. I title this episode "The Importance Of Our Insignificance" not to imply that we don't matter, but rather that it's comforting to think that in the grand scheme of things, our existence isn't as large as we perceive it. And if so, then what a great life to make mistakes in and learn from. I am so excited for you to listen and hope you learn something new. Leave me a comment, leave the show a rating, and tell me what you think! I love you. Thank you for spending your time with me :) PS: Check out my newest mentorship platform Help Me Help You, and book a call with me: https://eshapathak5.wixsite.com/hmhy Read this article on awe to learn more: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/03/well/live/awe-wonder-dacher-keltner.html Learn more about me and my work: https://linktr.ee/eshapathak Follow me on instagram: @_eshapathak and @turnofftheringerpodcast

Hailing from the infamous and talent-saturated area of Harbor Point is one of the newer names being discussed over the past few years and known by simply "Wave"! While some call him Wave Capone, the music is always quality and comes from a real place. We've been paying attention to the artist since the release of his "Capone" album which also was re-released as a Deluxe version and the sounds will force you to dig deep into her story and eager to hear more! Since his first project "Help Me Help You", Wave has asserted himself as someone to keep an eye out for. Prior to the release of his first project, the rapper was wrongfully accused of shooting and murdering a gas station clerk in Dorchester–which he thankfully moved past since there was no evidence to the claim and he is just another Black man the system tried to take advantage of. Shaking off the weight of yesterday, Wave remained consistent with work and visuals which leads to his most resent effort "Misunderstood". On his latest project he allowed himself to get more personal, and exposing his life past the streets. We really enjoyed this sit down that ended in a very memorable #RedCupsAndRap freestyle! Join Charlie MaSheen & KASH as they host Wave (Capone) on this podcast interview talking about his music, recently becoming a father, where he's from, and SO MUCH MORE!!! TAP IN!!! It's Keith's birthday! So Steve is letting Keith edit his first podcast.Like Ep. 32 Going to Polygondwanaland, which featured King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's 12th studio album in its entirety, this episode will feature Keith's eight song EP - PS I Saved the Planet. What does Steve think about Keith's sophmore effort? "Your album is why bands are so great. There are awesome seeds of songs here that would be awesomer with added angles. Or even better, they could form the basis of a number of songs. I am thinking of Designer Viruses. That could be the basis of a raucous punk song too. Help Me Help You is a duet."PS I Saved the Planet EP 2020RBGPaul BowlesSlow Motion DisasterNineteen Years Ago TomorrowQuaranteen (It's Not My Fault)Designer VirusesHelp Me Help You (Make It Better)47 And Counting (THE POLAR BEAR SONG)Support the show (https://teespring.com/stores/the-new-dad-rock)

Eclectic Brisbane punk/hardcore outfit Stepson are on the precipice of dropping their debut album Help Me Help You, which will be released on March 26.Like many bands, 2020 was a write off for Stepson, delaying the release of the album and putting an end to a planned European tour but that seems all a distant memory now with the band pumped to get their slab of music out to the judging ears of the public domain.Bass player Jayden Ridley sat down with HEAVY to discuss the album and much more."Our vision when we went to create this album was we didn't want one of those debuts that has three singles and the rest is all fill where it all blends into one and every song sounds the same,” he offered of the album musically. “I think we really achieved that. Every song is different and we're very big on... we want our listening experience to be a bit of a rollercoaster so there's highs, there's lows and plenty of dynamics. There's something for everyone on there whether you like heavy riffs or breakdowns or catchy choruses or a random slap pop-based chorus, it's all there.”All of which must make it difficult to neatly label Stepson’s music under one cohesive package."Yeah, I guess it comes under the guise of hardcore, punk, metal but we've never been one to pigeon hole ourselves to the one genre and I think that's cool. It keeps it fresh and makes it exciting.”In the full interview, Jayden talks about Help Me Help You in greater detail including the title and album artwork, goals with the album, things to take into consideration for a debut album, missed opportunities and more.
This week The TV Boys discuss Jim Rash. Not only is he one of the most hilarious actors there is, he is also a part of some of the funniest TV shows to date.

Week 9 of "The Apostles' Creed"
Brisbane's Stepson unleashed their latest single "Run" on the changing world a couple of weeks ago, with bass player/vocals Jayden Ridley opening up to HEAVY about the song and Stepson's plans to navigate the current climate."Run is very much a Stepson song", he smiled, "but there's a few different things like... I think it's my first time ever with a full, clean chorus where Brock (Alan Conry, vocals) and I haven't been singing at the same time which is pretty cool. It's probably the proudest I have ever been with my voice in a recording. It's good to have it out. It's got a kind of different feel to some of our other stuff so it's cool seeing the different opinions and stuff. Some people are saying this is weird and other people are like holy shit this rules. I take both of them as wins (laughs)".In the full interview, Jayden talks about Run from a musical perspective and Stepson's goals with it, the film clip and leaving it open for personal interpretation, the reaction from fans to emotional lyrics, debut album Help Me Help You and its content, having to put off the release date and dealing with uncertain times, the step-up in releasing a full album from an EP and more.

Mindfulness has really enabled me to conquer that and to be able to take a step back and allow myself to get out of that mode. Thoughts on Breathing I couldn't tell you more about how important breathing is. If you don't understand that, that's just a 101. Breathing is huge. I do yogic breathing to increase the health and capacity of my lungs and I also do it for my mindful state. Suggested Resources Book: Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. In fact, when I was in my first year of high school, I literally had to get in fistfights to protect myself from bullies in my school. You think about girls doing that kind of thing, but it's a real thing. I used to get in literal fistfights because I had to. I didn't have a choice; either I got beat or I engaged. For me, that was something that made me stronger. They can be a very big source of despair. I don't recommend letting that be the place that makes you stronger. In business, I will tell you that in my niche, I definitely have other competitors that would much prefer me to be down in business. One of the things that I've done to avoid that; I just don't pay attention to my competition. So many people in business will say, pay attention to what your competition is doing. I actually find that for multiple reasons, that is not good business advice. I don't pay attention to my competition, I don't pay attention to what they're doing, to what they're saying and I just run my business in a way that works for myself and my team. By doing that we've actually done very well. We've been extremely successful and then I don't worry about those things.
