The Push-Pull of Life Life moves whether you're ready or not. The question is: are your actions pushing you forward — or pulling you backward? Tim and Steve dive into the concept of complementary (reciprocal) motion and how it impacts far more than martial arts. From athletics to relationships, career growth to personal development, every action creates a reaction — and every movement forward requires balance. The decisions you make today determine for tomorrow whether you will reap rewards or suffer consequences. Key Takeaways: Every action contributes to the life you're creating The push-pull principle drives efficiency in athletics, martial arts, and everyday life Strong relationships thrive when all parties move together toward a common goal. What you put into the world often comes back to you A victim mindset keeps you stuck; ownership creates momentum Success is rarely accidental — it's the result of intentional actions repeated over time Life is always in motion. Learning to work with that motion instead of against it is the key to growth. Stop waiting for life to happen to you. Create momentum, embrace complementary motion, and start shaping the future you want.

Origen

Do you find yourself caught in an agonizing relationship loop? You crave intimacy and attention, but the moment someone gets close, anxiety kicks in and you push them away. Or maybe you are on the opposite end of the spectrum, constantly seeking external validation, slipping into codependency, and losing yourself to meet other people's needs. Both of these painful patterns stem from the exact same root: childhood. When we don't grow up with "good enough parents" who provide unconditional love, we learn to survive on conditional terms. We internalize the chaos, creating a subconscious baseline that treats dysfunction as familiar and safe. As adults, our reticular activating system (RAS) begins filtering our world based on this old programming. It labels emotionally stable, functional partners as "boring" and magnetically draws us toward people who mirror our childhood family systems. All relationship abuse and dysfunction is ultimately a transfer of toxic shame. When you internalize the belief that you are fundamentally faulty, it breeds a constant fear of abandonment and severe emotional disregulation. The way out is learning how to become the good enough parent to yourself. If you are ready to break these unconscious contracts and finally feel safe in your adult relationships, join me for a deep-dive, 3-hour pop-up workshop this Saturday. We will be using powerful techniques popularized by pioneer John Bradshaw, including:Writing letters to your inner child.Writing letters from your inner child to your adult self.A deep hypnosis session to connect with and reintegrate your inner child.Spaces are limited. You are going to walk away knowing exactly which style of training fits YOUR goals, YOUR lifestyle, and YOUR experience level. If you have ever wondered why you are not getting the pump you want from full body training... or why your split routine keeps falling apart because you keep skipping leg day... this episode is going to hit different. Adam breaks down how he personally evolved from full body training all the way to a double PPL split during his peak physique competition years, and WHY that progression made total sense. Sal lays out the intensity, recovery, and exercise selection differences that most people completely overlook when comparing these two approaches. Key Topics • Full body training protects you when you miss a workout because you never skip an entire muscle group the way you do on a split routine • With a PPL split, missing one day means missing an entire category of movement, and the day people skip most is almost always leg day • Total weekly volume can be identical between full body and split routines, but the exercise selection looks completely different: full body leans compound, splits open the door to isolation and sculpting work • Split routines allow higher training intensity per session because you are not hitting that muscle group again for a full week, meaning you can push harder without it hurting your next workout • Full body routines are shorter per session when volume is matched because you warm up for each compound lift separately, while a PPL session only requires one warm up before you fly through the rest • You CAN spot build specific muscle groups through resistance training even though you cannot spot reduce fat, and split routines lend themselves naturally to prioritizing lagging areas • Adam ran a double PPL (six days per week, PPL twice) during his peak competition years, strategically reducing volume on less important muscle groups and adding volume to whatever he was trying to bring up for the next show • The pump you get from training one body part in a single session is dramatically greater than the pump from a full body session, and that experience matters for long term consistency and muscle connection • Full body training is better for beginners because it teaches appropriate intensity and movement practice, while the inability to fully recover before hitting the same muscle again punishes those who tend to overtrain • Split routines are an easier mental sell on low energy days because a chest, shoulders, and triceps session feels far less daunting than squatting, pressing, rowing, and overhead pressing all in one session Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:20 MAPS PPL 0:49 Sponsor: Rho Nutrition 2:07 Full body vs. split overview 2:28 What full body and split routines actually are 3:13 Adam's progression from full body to split 4:42 Why missing one day destroys a split 5:34 Why beginners should train full body 6:51 How exercise selection changes between full body and split routines 8:17 Spot building 9:38 The pump 10:24 Why split routines tend to be faster even at equal volume 11:43 Intensity differences 13:41 Using splits to bring up lagging muscle groups 17:44 Adam's double PPL strategy 19:46 How to adjust volume 20:00 Splits are an easier pill to swallow on low energy days 20:40 Sal's personal experience switching to a PPL style split 21:35 What the data actually says 23:42 MAPS PPL details, discount code, and at home version

If you feel like you're having the same leadership conversations on repeat, the problem isn't your team — it's how you're handling tension. In this episode of The Leadership Sandbox, Tammy J. Bond calls out the push-pull trap that keeps leaders stuck swinging between control and compassion, speed and safety, authority and inclusion. What looks like decisiveness is often a reaction. And over time, that reactive pattern quietly erodes trust, consistency, and credibility. You'll learn why some leadership challenges aren't meant to be solved, but held — and how strong leaders lead through tension instead of trying to escape it. This episode is for leaders who are tired of whiplash, ready to stop reacting, and willing to stand in the discomfort long enough to lead with clarity. Bottom line: Push-pull isn't the problem. Not naming it is.

Data as a Product: Was steckt dahinter?

The Push-Pull of ADHD and Autism: Stretching Without Breaking In this candid conversation, Patricia Young (she/her) and B Lourenco (she/her) dive deep into the realities of living with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence. They explore the push-pull between self-accommodation and stretching ourselves, how shame and internalized ableism impact daily life, and what it means to create realistic support systems at home, in relationships, and in the workplace. Expect raw honesty, relatable stories, and practical insights for navigating neurodivergent life. WHAT YOU'LL HEAR IN THIS EPISODE · The ongoing "driver's seat battle" between ADHD and autism. · The push-pull between making accommodations and stretching ourselves beyond comfort. · Parenting a neurodivergent young adult while balancing when to push and when to allow rest. · Task initiation struggles — from making banana bread to cooking meals. · Body doubling as a powerful tool to reduce shame and spark motivation. · The "crisper/rotter" effect — guilt over wasted food and executive dysfunction. · Financial and practical impacts of task initiation challenges. · How privilege plays into having options like prepared or frozen meals when cooking feels impossible. · The cost of pushing through fatigue and flares with conditions like POTS and MCAS. · "Future me" thinking — and the difficulties neurodivergent folks have with impermanence. · Shame as the "ice cream scoop" on top of disability struggles. · Why diagnosis matters: language helps reduce shame and prevent repeating harmful patterns. · How powerlessness, and an attempt to gain autonomy can show up in small, reactive choices (like leaving a Facebook group). · Sensory sensitivities in family systems — how lack of accommodations can lead to dysfunction. · Practical accommodations for noise-sensitive parents and their kids. · Workplace challenges: 40-hour weeks, return-to-office pressures, and capitalism's rigidity. · Creative problem-solving in disabled and neurodivergent communities. · The deep fear of being uncared for and alone if we can't keep up. · Hyper-independence and isolation in the ADHD/autistic community. · Internalized ableism and the "shoulds" that drive shame and burnout. · Neurodivergence as a dynamic disability — what's possible one day isn't always possible the next. · Radical acceptance as a path toward reducing judgment and finding relief. SOUND BITES · "It begs the question of, okay, is that okay? Can we just say that's how it is?" – B Lourenco · "Instead of putting our energy into addressing the gap, folks will take the great divide and then put a scoop of shame on top of it." – B Lourenco · "All the terrible things that we tell ourselves… if I didn't have that awareness, I'd just keep repeating these patterns." – Patricia Young · "In order to truly accommodate ourselves, we have to acknowledge that it's as hard as it is and that we're as disabled as we are." – B Lourenco · "Sometimes I have to ask myself, what if what you're going through is exactly where you need to be?" – Patricia Young SENSITIVITY IS NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR; IT'S HOW YOUR BRAIN IS WIRED You are not broken. She created the podcasts Unapologetically Sensitive and Unapologetically AuDHD to help other neurodivergent folks know that they aren't alone, and that having a brain that is wired differently comes with amazing gifts, and some challenges. Patricia works online globally working individually with people, and she teaches Online Courses for neurodivergent folks that focus on understanding what it means to be a sensitive neurodivergent. B has been working in community support for nearly 20 years and is committed to social change on all system levels. Seeing mental health advocacy as a way to serve the community, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, with a Systems Emphasis, in 2015 and began her private practice, B Lourenco Therapy in 2017. B has also worked in the public school system, providing support to students with behavioral issues that made attending school challenging for them. Highly trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), B became a district-wide expert in supporting neurodivergent students. It was during this work that she began to be critical of the medical models of support for neurodivergence, including ABA. Making the shift from the medical to the Neurodiversity-affirming model has allowed her to finally identify her own neurodivergence, including Autism and ADHD. Combining her lived experience of neurodivergence, along with years of anti-oppression work, B is passionate about helping others untangle themselves from harmful practices and align themselves with those that instead support marginalized communities. In addition to CE events for healthcare providers, she has also been a speaker on panels and podcasts, and also facilitates community based workshops. https://www.blourencotherapy.com LINKS Cascadia Training: https://cascadia-training.com Imani Barbarin—crutches_and_spice IG https://www.instagram.com/crutches_and_spice/ To write a review in itunes: click on this link https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/unapologetically-sensitive/id1440433481?mt=2 select "listen on Apple Podcasts" chose "open in itunes" choose "ratings and reviews" click to rate the number of starts click "write a review" Website--www.unapologeticallysensitive.com Facebook-- https://www.facebook.com/Unapologetically-Sensitive-2296688923985657/ Closed/Private Facebook group Unapologetically Sensitive-- https://www.facebook.com/groups/2099705880047619/ Instagram-- https://www.instagram.com/unapologeticallysensitive/ Youtube-- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOE6fodj7RBdO3Iw0NrAllg/videos?view_as=subscriber Tik Tok--https://www.tiktok.com/@unapologeticallysensitiv Unapologetically AuDHD Podcast-- https://unapologeticallysensitive.com/unapologeticallyaudhd/ e-mail-- unapologeticallysensitive@gmail.com Show hashtag--#unapologeticallysensitive Music-- Gravel Dance by Andy Robinson www.andyrobinson.com

Pascal Papathemelis: From Waterfall to Agile—A Multi-Level Change Strategy Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes. Pascal describes a successful agile transformation where he collaborated with a fellow coach in the IT department of a large organization with a waterfall history and heavy documentation-driven processes. The two coaches worked together effectively, sharing information and scouting for opportunities to take action. They began with an assessment and discussions across IT, business, and management levels to understand the current state. Using the Cynefin framework to understand complexity, they conducted a two-day workshop to introduce Agile vocabulary, covering concepts like Push/Pull and process waste. The coaches operated at multiple levels simultaneously - working strategically with leadership who typically pushed excessive work to the organization, while also helping teams visualize their processes and clarify priorities. At the team level, they acted as Scrum Masters to demonstrate the role while mentoring the actual Scrum Master through one-on-one sessions. They also supported the Product Owner in understanding their role and used story maps to help visualize and organize work effectively. Self-reflection Question: How might collaborating with another coach or change agent amplify your effectiveness in leading organizational transformation? [The Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]
What happens to property value when cap rates and NOI start moving in opposite directions—and how should investors prepare for that? In this episode, Angel Williams speaks with Rich Neuharth and Moses Lucero about the realities of underwriting in multifamily investing. They break down cap rates, NOI (Net Operating Income), and the complex relationship between market forces and property performance. Rich walks through examples that clarify how small shifts in cap rates can drastically affect valuations and explains why mindset and transparency matter in underwriting. Angel challenges the assumptions with sharp questions, leading to a clear discussion of how to stress-test deals, factor in risk, and use underwriting tools responsibly. [00:01 - 04:30] Cap Rates in Action How a $1M NOI changes value depending on cap rate shifts Why cap rate compression inflates property value—and vice versa The importance of separating property-level performance from market dynamics [04:31 - 08:15] Mindset and Learning Through Repetition How mindset impacts willingness to ask questions and learn Why repeating and reframing concepts leads to deeper understanding The need for more open conversations about not understanding financial concepts [08:16 - 12:30] Market Cap vs. Purchase Cap What the significance of market cap rate is during appraisals How to handle disconnects between deal-level and market expectations Why accurate comps and broker input guide realistic underwriting assumptions [12:31 - 16:00] The Push-Pull of NOI and Cap Rate in Valuation How to analyze proportional changes in cap rate and NOI Why understanding opposing forces is key to modeling The importance of building performance scenarios and exit plans [16:01 - 19:48] Stress Testing and Long-Term Thinking How to structure deals to withstand market fluctuations Why historical cap rate trends matter when forecasting The need to balance investor expectations with conservative assumptions Connect with Rich: https://www.linkedin.com/in/realmindsetrich Connect with Moses: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moses-lucero-9026b220b/ Key Quotes: “The market cap only affects your sale or refinance.
