L'alcaldessa i regidora d'urbanisme, Aurora Carbonell, i el portaveu del PSC de Sitges, Luis Miguel Garcia han anunciat la inscripció de dos solars de Sitges en el registre de la Generalitat per fer habitatge públic. Es tracta d'un solar a Vallbona (Les Botigues) on s'hi podran construir uns cinquanta habitatges i un altre solar a la zona de la Plana, al carrer del Mestre Manuel Torrens, on es preveu la construcció de dos cents habitatges més. En el cas de Vallbona ja hi ha promotor per a la construcció que podrà gaudir dels avantatges que ofereix la Generalitat per aquells que formin part d'aquest Pla 50mil habitatges i l'Ajuntament haurà de buscar ara promotor per a encarregar-li la construcció dels habitatges HPO del solar de La Plana. L'anunci forma part de l'acord al que van arribar PSC i govern en l'aprovació dels pressupostos per al 2025. L'entrada L’Ajuntament inscriu dos solars al Pla 50.000 habitatges de la Generalitat per construir habitatge públic ha aparegut primer a Radio Maricel.

Setting the Record Straight on Contracting with Chris Larkin

We did a contracting episode a few weeks ago where we aired out a few grievances mostly focused on how strength and conditioning coaches in contracted roles with the military are treated. In that conversation we acknowledged that we have limited experience with contracting, and we were open to having an expert come on and set the record straight.  As it happens, this week's guest is exactly the kind of expert we were looking for. Chris Larkin is LMR Technical Group CEO and Cofounder and his background covers enlisted and officer service in Air Force Special Warfare and extensive involvement in military human performance in multiple different roles. Chris spent 28 years total in the Air Force as an enlisted Combat Controller and Special Tactics Officer, starting to advocate for military human performance initiatives even before commissioning. He served as the first Squadron Commander at the Special Tactics Training Squadron and helped establish the Combat Athlete Program (which pre-dated SOCOM POTFF) working with AF Research Lab and USAFA Human Performance Lab. He had HPO specific facilities built at the STTS and 23 Special Tactics Squadron – some of the first built in the DoD and even ran one of the first ever Human Performance Symposiums (bringing in industry, academia, and other military units to help solve HPO problems). He wrote his thesis at the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) on “Combat Fitness a Concept Vital to National Defense” and was an Operational Squadron commander when POTFF came to AFSOC and even deployed HPO staff into Afghanistan to expedite the recovery process. His credentials include a bachelors in Exercise Science, Master Fitness Trainer, ACSM Exercise Leader, and USA Triathlon Coach. He's also an accomplished athlete in his own right. He ran Division 1 Cross Country and Southwest Texas State University. He has represented the Air Force in downhill skiing, triathlon, pentathlon, and Ironman - including 3 Ironman finishes. And he has 3,000 parachute jumps – including numerous demonstrations at events including NFL, MLB, NASCAR.

What role do estrogen and the menstrual cycle play in the moods of women? Is ‘baby brain' a real phenomena or does the brain actually sharpen during motherhood? A big part of the experience we have of our bodies is thanks to hormones, also called  neurotransmitters because they help our nervous system communicate with the rest of the body about what's going on inside and outside the body. Having accompanied my partner through the process of having two children, and us both having had many unanswered questions about that; and now heading into my late forties having many female friends and listeners heading towards menopause, and speaking publicly about how they wished there'd been given more information about it as it seems not to be discussed much, even amongst women. So I felt the need to make a show about the science and experience of female hormones, particularly with regard to motherhood and menopause; in the hope that women facing these experiences and men hoping to be informed and supportive to those experiences might get more insight. If you're looking for a show about the comparison or difference between men and women, or Mars or Venus, or the battle of the sexes this is not the show for you: this is simply an informative show about the female brain and particularly about the changes that take place during motherhood and menopause. He has recently moved from Colorado Springs (working with the US Air Force Special warfare), having lived in Auckland, New Zealand through 2019 pursuing a Masters of Philosophy (Rehabilitation Sciencefocus), working with professional rugby teams, and holding  an adjunct lectureship position with the Auckland of Technology Physiotherapy Program. He now serves the US Army Special Operations Command directive as a Physical Therapist and performance coach along with other educational roles, including the membership chair for the AASPT's Sports Performance Enhancement SIG. He remains involved as a coach in Olympic weightlifting, provider and player for local rugby, and continues to consult for a myriad of teams and athletes, including CrossFit.He has published educational content for multiple journals, books, and online learning material, and remains extremely active with professional development and coursework.

Zach Bitter is an American ultramarathon runner, and performance coach for endurance athletes. He held world records for the 100-mile run and the 12-hour run. Bitter claimed both records with his performance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 24, 2019. After claiming the 100-mile record, Bitter continued running for another 40 minutes and upped his own 12-hour distance world record to 104.8 miles, an improvement of more than three miles over the previous mark. Over the last several years, Zach has been following a largely ketogenic approach and using nutrient-dense carbohydrates strategically to support periods of heavy training and racing. In particular, he uses a ketogenic eating strategy to support improved recovery after hard workouts and races, as well as to maintain his tremendous fat-burning ability.
