We're digging into iron panels and what you need to know when you are TTC. What we commonly see with low AMH/high FSH is iron deficiency. And it's more than just taking an iron supplement. Because many people don't absorb iron properly or have heavy periods and gut issues that negatively impact iron levels. Bottom line if you have amenorrhea, anovulation (the lack of ovulation), poor egg health, ovulatory disorder, and have experienced miscarriage its time to dig deeper into the full iron panel. So how do we address iron deficiency to improve our chances of pregnancy success? In this episode you'll learn: - Symptoms of low iron and why this matters for fertility - Functional reference ranges for the iron panel (hint: a conventional physician may have told you that your iron ranges are “normal” – but has a healing opportunity been missed?) - Reasons WHY your iron markers are out of balance (i.e. gut infections, autoimmunity, low stomach acid and more) - Medications and foods that interfere with iron absorption - Diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations to improve iron markers --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We are living in a toxic soup filled with chemicals. When we're TTC, switching to non-toxic products is essential. We don't recommend throwing everything out because that can cause more stress. As each product expires, you can replace it with a non-toxic option. Except for your feminine hygiene and fragrances - swap those out immediately - hint: those pumpkin spice candles release harmful PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) associated with reproductive issues. Studies have linked PAH exposure to reduced sperm count, lower concentration, abnormal shape, and decreased mobility. Additionally, various chemicals such as phthalates, SVOCs, BHT, and parabens have the potential to disrupt hormones, which is particularly concerning for individuals trying to conceive or those who are pregnant. So, where do we start? We're excited to share a beginner's guide to going toxin-free as you prepare for pregnancy success. I'm excited to welcome Anna Rapp to the podcast. Anna is the chief blogger at the popular fertility site To Make A Mommy. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) The difference between non-toxic, low-tox, green living, clean living 2) Advise on how to swap out your personal care products 3) How to know which cookware is best 4) Our favourite air purifier, water filter, mattress and cleaning products --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We're digging into stool testing and what it means for fertility and low AMH/high FSH. When you are dealing with low AMH and or high FSH, the last place your REI will look is the health of your gut. The health of your gut is directly tied to the health of your ovaries. And if you have an infection, no amount of clean eating will matter. The infection needs to be addressed. It may be tempting to use an anti-parasitic or anti-fungal to address an infection, but that will wipe out all the good and bad bacteria, making a longer road to repairing the gut. We are not against medication (sometimes it is needed); however, a targeted supplement protocol will address the infections while maintaining the health of the gut. So, how do we identify and address the infection to improve pregnancy success? In this episode, you'll learn: 1) The conventional medicine approach to gut infections and what is regularly missed (plus, we discuss our favourite stool test in detail) 2) Top infections we see with low AMH and/or high FSH 3) How to know if you have a leaky gut and why this matters for fertility 4) Why DIY wastes time with addressing infections and how to fast-track pregnancy success --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. In this episode, we dig into navigating the holiday season with low AMH/high FSH. The fertility journey can be all-encompassing, and the holiday season can be challenging. Visiting friends and family and seeing coworkers who ask that intrusive and annoying question, “Do you have kids yet?” The pressure of the season may have you feeling overwhelmed or burnt out. So many of us have been on the TTC journey for years. The stress can start to sneak up on you, impacting your biochemistry. As I've shared before, maybe the low AMH/high FSH is not a sign of menopause; it's that your adrenals are struggling. So what can we do about it? This episode is for you: 1) You're constantly getting asked by family and friends - when will you have your baby 2) Not sure what to do for 2024 to optimize your fertility 3) You need an action plan so that you can tell people to mind their own business 4) You wonder if low AMH/high FSH is menopause or maybe your doctor is missing an underlying healing opportunity --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We're digging into how to know if IVF is the next step if you have low AMH/high FSH. I know you've been told that IVF is the only way forward when you have low AMH and/or high FSH. You may have been told that time is of the essence and you need to rush to IVF. We are not anti-IVF. We are pro-health. You can't skip working on health. I know you've already done a lot of work on your health. Most people have already tried naturally and made some generalized diet and lifestyle recommendations before IVF. What we see with low AMH/high FSH when a couple selects IVF (without making targeted diet/lifestyle changes) is cancelled cycles, poor response to medications, poor embryo quality, and miscarriages. Couples share these stories with me daily. I don't want you to get through the emotional and financial heartache of failed IVF. What if there was a way to know when IVF is right for you? A way to improve your chances of it working. --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We're digging into recovering from chronic illness while TTC. The conventional medicine approach for dealing with chronic illness and autoimmune disease is to prescribe medication. This approach has us chasing symptoms and does not address the underlying cause. One of the themes we see with low AMH and high FSH is autoimmunity. One autoimmune disease will predispose you to another autoimmune disease. We see so many people who have a chronic illness or autoimmunity and have been referred to IVF or donor eggs, and the retrieval or transfer has failed. It is not about pushing your body and doing another IVF. We've been led to believe that IVF is the fast track. The real fast track addresses your health, so a functional approach is uniquely positioned to optimize pregnancy success. Today, I'm excited to welcome Allison Samon to the podcast. Allison is a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner who works virtually with people to get out of chronic illness, escape from mystery symptoms, and help re-design their lifestyle so they can be fit, energized, and pain-free in easy, fun, and sustainable ways. We're digging into common mistakes we make with diet for low AMH/high FSH. It can be confusing to know where to start to improve your diet when you have low AMH and/or high FSH. I know you've probably asked your OB/GYN or REI about the importance of diet, and they may have told you that diet might help, but it's not an essential part of the equation. This may have you second-guessing what approach to take. I don't want you to waste time making the wrong changes or give up on diet changes because you're unsure if it's even worth the effort. I'm breaking down the top 3 mistakes we see when someone makes diet changes and what you can do right now to improve pregnancy success. This episode is for you: - You've tried diet changes, and nothing has worked - You're not sure what to do to optimize your fertility - You feel like IVF may be your next step, but you really want to get pregnant naturally In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What health symptoms to look out for when you have low AMH/high FSH - hint: it's not about focusing on your AMH/FSH numbers 2) What to do if you're already gluten-free but it's still not working 3) How to know what is being missed and what is a diet plan that can help improve pregnancy success --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We're digging into what everyone gets wrong about fertility smoothies. Eating the right foods when you are trying to conceive can be confusing. There is so much contradictory advice. At Fab Fertile, we believe in a personalized approach to nutrition. We have our clients start the elimination diet (it's the gold standard to figure out if you have a food sensitivity), and then we tweak the diet further with comprehensive food sensitivity testing. We've had people intolerant to fertility super foods like avocado, eggs, almonds and yes, even leafy greens. So, while we're figuring out our personalized diet choices, I wanted to give some inspiration for your breakfast. It's one of the biggest questions we get from people. But what will I eat for breakfast when I change my diet? Enter the morning smoothie. But the problem with many smoothies is they are doing more harm than good (with blood sugar-spiking ingredients that only impair your fertility). So what ingredients should your fertility smoothie contain, and how can you maximize your nutrition in each glass? I'm excited to welcome Anna Rapp to the podcast. Anna is the chief blogger at the popular fertility site To Make A Mommy (https://www.tomakeamommy.com/). In this episode, you'll learn: 1) The problems with most fertility smoothies 2) The right way to include greens in smoothies (this tip is crucial for your fertility, especially if you have thyroid dysfunction – which we see regularly with low AMH/high FSH) 3) How much protein to add, which protein powders to avoid, and which ones are our favourite 4) The importance of healthy fats and how to add them to your smoothie (hint: we need healthy fats for hormone production). 5) How to include seed cycling into your smoothie --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. We're digging into why addressing adrenal insufficiency matters when TTC. I can't tell you how many people I speak with that have low AMH/high FSH that are: - Working more than 50 hours per week and dealing with a toxic workplace and/or demanding boss - Holding down a full-time job and in graduate school - Have experienced a traumatic event such as pregnancy loss or death in the family - Dealing with relationship struggles or estrangement with family members - Have tried unsuccessfully to get pregnant for years with multiple rounds of IVF - Have been told donor eggs are their only hope Chronic stress is real. We see it all the time with low AMH/high FSH. The good thing is there are targeted strategies to address the stress, heal your adrenals, optimize your egg health and restore your fertility. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What the adrenals have to do with fertility (differences between adrenal fatigue and HPA dysfunction) 2) Signs of adrenal dysfunction and some potential causes 3) The impact of the adrenals on the thyroid 4) MTHFR and the adrenals (how to support methylation) 5) Diet/lifestyle and supplement recommendations to support the adrenals and improve egg health and fertility --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - Access your free guide here at www.suppguideffl.com or email hello@fabfertile.ca to get your copy. In this episode, we're digging into how to minimize toxin exposure while TTC. We are exposed to over 85,000 chemicals in our environment. Environmental working group scientists have identified dozens of studies published in the past five years that report the presence of PFAS, or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, in cord blood. “The presence of these chemicals is also a threat to pregnant people, serving as first contacts with PFAS before they can pass from the uterus to the developing fetus by way of the umbilical cord.” We're exposed to chemicals in our food, personal care products, water, consumer goods and cleaning products. Turns out these chemicals are linked to endocrine disruptors that impact both male and female fertility. Women with a history of miscarriage may have up to 300% more of a chemical used in perfumes and cosmetics in their bloodstream than women who have never miscarried. (Human Reproduction Journal). So, how do you protect yourself and your future children? I'm excited to welcome Rachel Varga (https://www.theschoolofradiance.com/) to the podcast. We're digging into how to select your omegas as you prepare for your baby. Most of the population does not meet the recommended daily requirements for this essential nutrient. And it is needed for healthy egg and sperm quality. The nutrient helps with the following: Improve hormone production Assist with cervical mucous production Promote normal ovulation Aid in increasing circulation to the reproductive system Decrease FSH levels Increased pregnancy rates following IVF Delay ovarian aging Also, for the male partner Increase sperm count Improve motility and morphology Reduce damage to sperm DNA I know you're taking a lot of supplements. We're digging into why fertility cleanses/detoxes can harm fertility and what to do instead if you have low AMH/high FSH. Preparing your body for conception can be overwhelming and confusing. We're digging into how to connect with your spirit baby. Many times before couples work with us, they have experienced cancelled IVF cycles due to low follicle count, failed IVFs due to egg or embryo quality, or have been labelled a poor responder. I know firsthand how difficult it is to hear that you have a very small chance of conceiving naturally or that donor eggs are your only option. This information from a well-meaning reproductive endocrinologist can be embedded in your subconscious, making it challenging to see a positive outcome. We may even begin to hypnotize ourselves negatively. So, how can we shift our mindset to see a positive outcome? Connecting to our spirit baby can give us comfort when we're in the middle of a struggle. Let's learn how to access this powerful spiritual medicine. Today, I'm welcoming Nancy Mae to the podcast. Nancy is an Intuitive Fertility Educator and Spirit Baby Expert. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) How to connect with your spirit baby 2) The benefit of tapping into your spirit baby when you are TTC 3) The best way to start connecting with a spirit baby. We're digging into how to release generational trauma and prepare for parenting. Let's face it: no one has experienced a perfect childhood. Whether you vow never to repeat how you were parented or you want to model how you were raised to your children. Getting clear about your intentions as you plan for your family is essential to start immediately. After all, prepping for a baby isn't just about parental leave, nurseries, and registries. These deep conversations often unlock hidden fears and blocks you may not have even noticed your subconscious was holding on to. So, how do we have an honest conversation with our partner about how we want to parent? In this episode, you'll learn: 1) How to start a conversation about how you want to parent. 2) Questions to consider include: How will you handle discipline? How do you want to raise this child? Do you have any triggers from your one childhood you DON'T want to bring forward? 3) Tools to help with the hard conversations and strategies to assist (i.e. journaling, therapy, EMDR, etc.). --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Ultimate Guide to Getting Pregnant This Year If You Have Low AMH/High FSH - https://fabfertile.clickfunnels.com/optinvbzjfsii Top Fertility Supplements You Need To Get Pregnant This Year - send an email to hello@fabfertile.ca to get your free guide Get professional-grade supplements designed to support reproductive health for men and women. We're digging into why thryoid health matters for low AMH/high FSH. Our Fab Fertile Method includes a deep dive into your health utilizing cutting-edge functional tests and addressing biochemical and mental-emotional stressors. A theme we see with primary ovarian insufficiency, diminished ovarian reserve, low AMH, and high FSH is thyroid dysfunction. And looking at the TSH is NOT the answer. I know you may have been told that our thyroid is normal, but something is being missed. Thyroid dysfunction can result in: · Anovulatory cycles · Menstrual irregularities or heavy bleeding · Low libido · Luteal phase defects · High prolactin · Sex hormone imbalances · Reduced DHEA, which may cause hormone imbalances and low sex hormone levels · Failure to sustain a fertilized egg · Low antral follicle count (AFC) · Low anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), a measure of ovarian reserve · High follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) · Early pregnancy loss (
We're digging into tips for eating for fertility in the summer. Making dietary changes can be hard (especially during the summer). You may feel like putting off the changes until September. However, eating foods that nourish your body does not need to suck. And delaying making the changes only delays your chances of pregnancy success. What if we could take advantage of the bounty that summer produce offers us? This is not about eating a bunch of kale or sipping green juice. From quick dips/pestos to protein-rich smoothies and barbeque-ready meats/fish, we discuss how you can nourish your body now without feeling deprived or hungry. Caitlin Townsend is part of my team at Fab Fertile. She is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner as well as a Chef trained at The Culinary Institute of America. In this episode, you'll learn about: 1) A smoothie recipe that's packed with fertility-friendly protein/fats 2) Eating based on the season and how to incorporate more variety 3) How to select foods that are good for your digestion 4) Quick 3-4 ingredient recipe ideas for dips/pestos 5) How to use herbs to make your summer BBQ meat/fish more flavourful 6) An easy mocktail recipe that improves digestive health (i.e. gut health is key for ovarian function) --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into what to ask an OB/GYN when you are TTC. When we visit a conventional OG/GYN, we typically have a very short time to get our questions answered. It can be intimidating, confusing and emotional when trying to figure out why we struggle to conceive. Plus, medical gaslighting is real. You know your body best, not the person in the white coat. The conventional medical system is broken, and IVF is a big business. As part of our Fab Fertile Team, our medical cases reviewer is an OB/GYN with training in functional medicine. Conventional OB/GYNs are trained to perform surgeries, not look for the root cause. Functional medicine allows us to look at the different systems in the body and see where there is an imbalance. When this imbalance is addressed, the reproductive system comes back online. Let's see some steps you can take right now to be your own advocate. Today, I'm welcoming Byungyol Chun to the podcasts. Dr. Chun is an experienced OB/GYN talking about what's wrong with women's healthcare in the US. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What is regularly missed in the OB/GYN's office (i.e. the question that is not asked that makes the biggest difference about your reproductive health) 2) The business of IVF and how to be your own advocate (i.e. how to avoid medical gaslighting) 3) The business of birth and how to reduce C-sections, epidurals, and improve Apgar scores for baby 4) What every couple should have access to as they prepare for their baby --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Connect with Dr. Bill Chun Dr. Bill Chun's Website | BillChunMD.com https://www.billchunmd.com/ Dr. Bill Chun on Instagram @BillChunMD https://www.instagram.com/billchunmd/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into gut health and why this matters when you are TTC. Addressing gut health is key for anyone on the fertility journey (especially if you have low AMH and/or high FSH). So often we myopically focus on the AMH and FSH levels and forget about our health. If you are dealing with any digestive issues such as loose stools, constipation, burping, bloating and gas consider this a HUGE clue that there is an imbalance in your body. Even if you don't have any digestive symptoms, you could still have gut issues (we see this all the time). You may have perfect digestion, but perhaps you are dealing with joint pain, mood imbalances, skin issues, or autoimmunity. As part of our Fab Fertile Method, we always recommend a stool test. For women with low AMH and/or high FSH, we see a theme of parasites, bacterial infections, and fungal infections. These nasty critters are wreaking havoc on the body. When the body is under attack, it wants to survive, not procreate. So, how do we optimize gut health so that you can improve pregnancy success? Today, I'm welcoming Jackie Bowker to the podcast. Jackie is an award-winning functional nutritionist, gut expert, speaker, and podcaster. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why gut health matters for fertility (especially for low AMH/high FSH) 2) The correction between gut health and thyroid dysfunction 3) Signs of leaky gut and potential gut infections 4) Diet and lifestyle strategies to improve gut health to improve pregnancy outcomes --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into why gluten matters if you have low AMH/high FSH. Most people with low AMH/high FSH have made some dietary changes. You've probably changed your diet. You may even have reduced gluten, and maybe you didn't notice any difference in your health. If you have digestive symptoms after consuming gluten, consider yourself fortunate because you know for sure there is a correlation. But most of us don't have digestive problems. Not everyone experiences bloating, burping, gas, constipation and/or diarrhea with gluten. There are other health complaints that we may experience that are common but definitely not normal. As you may know, I was diagnosed with primary ovarian insufficiency at 28 and had both my kids with donors' eggs. Much later, I discovered food sensitivities, gut infections, and chronic stress were the cause of my infertility. I had no idea that gluten was a problem for my health until years later. Looking back, the symptoms were there – bloating, dark circles under my eyes (an indicator of food sensitivity), acne, dizziness, mood swings, keratosis pilaris (also known as chicken skin on the back of my arms – exfoliation didn't help), and of course infertility. We specialize in low AMH, high FSH, diminished ovarian reserve, and primary ovarian insufficiency. A customized diet is essential, and determining if gluten needs to go is one of the first places we start. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why it is important to go gluten-free when we are TTC 2) The problem with consuming gluten during pregnancy and the potential risks for the child 3) The difference between celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity 4) The connection between autoimmune diseases and gluten i.e. Hashimoto's and irritable bowel disease 5) Best test for gluten sensitivity 6) Supplements to help with gluten exposure --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into how to balance blood sugar when you are TTC. When I ask the question to women with low AMH/high FSH “Have you ever experienced mood swings, sugar cravings, poor sleep and feeling hangry?” It's usually at least one but more likely all of the above. These symptoms (yes, they are symptoms of a greater imbalance in the body) can be why you may be experiencing irregular or absent periods and ovulation disorders. The good news is there's a proven strategy to address these symptoms so that you can improve pregnancy success. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What insulin resistance is and why it matters if we are trying to conceive 2) How to test blood sugar and when to test 3) What it means for our fertility when we experience sugar cravings, mood swings, poor sleep and that "hangry" feeling 4) How stress and sleep impact blood sugar 5) What high and low blood sugar means for fertility and health 6) How to balance blood sugar and the best diet to regulate our blood sugar --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Summer Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into depression and the link to a fertility diagnosis. Many people have dealt with depression for years before they were even trying to conceive. Conventional medicine will give you a diagnosis and perhaps even medication, which many people take for years without digging deeper to figure out why it happened in the first place. The conversation around mental health is changing. But what if it's not depression? The gut-brain connection is well-studied and documented. This is a red flag and a missed healing opportunity if you have low AMH/high FSH, DOR/POI or are on the fertility journey. If you are dealing with depression and/or anxiety, let's get to the root cause to improve pregnancy success. Today I'm welcoming Dr. Achina Stein. Dr. Stein is an Amazon international bestselling author of "What If It's NOT Depression? Your Guide to Finding Answers and Solutions", a certified practitioner of the Institute for Functional Medicine and a board-certified psychiatrist. We're digging into how the elimination diet can improve pregnancy success. There are so many diets that claim to optimize egg and sperm health. And while one diet might work for someone, is it the right approach for you? Our bodies are all different. That's why our Fab Fertile Method always starts with an elimination diet. It is the gold standard to figure out if you have a food sensitivity, and we have BOTH partners do the elimination diet (it is not just about you changing your diet). It takes two to have a baby! While the majority of couples that I speak with tell me they are eating a “clean” diet, most have not done the elimination diet. Food sensitivity is a stressor on the body and must be addressed (we see so many people get this wrong). If your body is mounting an immune response to your favourite foods, this causes inflammation. When your body is under attack from seemingly healthy foods (or even not-so-healthy foods), it wants to survive, not to procreate. Figuring out the diet that is RIGHT for you is essential when you are trying to conceive. And yes, we see AMH improve, FSH decrease, and sperm parameters get better after making targeted diet changes. But we have to rip off the bandaid, pick a date and start. --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Summer Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into secondary fertility and getting sleep with young children as you prepare to expand your family. Many couples have no problem conceiving their first child and then struggle to conceive their second. They may deal with low AMH, high FSH, DOR, or POI. We see this all the time (even when the first pregnancy was very easy). I've spoken with many women who tell me that they know that they need to sleep to get pregnant, but they are struggling to get their little one to bed. We could be doing all the right things for our sleep, but our little one is not sleeping through the night or we are caught in a co-sleep situation that no longer serves us. This episode has a trigger alert as we are digging into the exact steps to help your baby/toddler get a restful night's sleep so that you can sleep too. Optimal sleep is key for our reproductive health. Today I'm welcoming Kim West to the podcast. Kim is a Clinical Social Worker (which is a child and family therapist) for over 25 years. Known as The Sleep Lady® by her clients, she has personally helped over 20,000 tired parents all over the world get a good night's sleep without letting their children cry it out alone. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Unique sleep issues for 5-12 months and 12- 2.5 years 2) The best sleep schedule for baby and toddler (ie, how many naps do they really need – the answer may surprise you) 3) Final word on co-sleeping and how to know if its right for your family 4) Sleep regression (ie, sleeping through the night and now having a hard time falling asleep or up very early) --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into how to improve the oral microbiome and why this matters when TTC. We all know that brushing and flossing our teeth is a good daily habit, but what if our dental health was linked to our reproductive health? We talk a lot about how a healthy gut microbiome and vaginal microbiome are essential for anyone on the fertility journey, but what is the oral microbiome? Periodontal disease can be linked to egg and sperm health and complications during pregnancy. Let's discover how oral health may be linked to fertility and what you can do to improve pregnancy success. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What is the oral microbiome, and why it matters for fertility 2) How periodontal disease may be linked to ovulation and lengthen the time for conception 3) The link between pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, preeclampsia, preterm labour and more 4) The connection between the oral microbiome and male fertility (i.e. sperm health) and even erectile dysfunction 5) Specific strategies to improve your oral health --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. The good news is there are targeted strategies that help to improve your sleep. Sleep hygiene is imperative, but it's more than a consistent bedtime routine and sleeping in a clutter-free dark room. When we address the biochemical reasons why sleep is disordered in the first place, our sleep comes back online. We're digging into bioidenticals and why this matters when you are TTC. When I was diagnosed with POF/POI at 28, I was told that I needed to get hormone replacement therapy right away to protect my bones, prevent osteoporosis, and protect my heart. So I took a synthetic form of hormone replacement therapy for years. Then, I discovered that the root cause of my infertility was food sensitivity, gut infection, and chronic stress. Many of my chronic health issues went away because I committed to diet and lifestyle changes. I stopped taking hormone replacement therapy because of the negative side effects of synthetic hormones. But I know I still needed support with my hormones. Enter bioidentical hormones. You may be wondering, “Can I use bioidenticals if I am TTC?" They can be a good addition to your fertility toolkit...but they need to be used at the right time (lifestyle changes need to be prioritized first before we take the hormones). Because bioidenticals alone are not the answer, but they can be part of the solution. I'm excited to welcome Dr. Daved Rosensweet. Dr. Rosensweet is the founder of The Menopause Method, creator of BRITE, creator of I Wonder, Doctor, and the author of Happy Healthy Hormones. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why adding bioidentical hormones can be part of the TTC journey 2) The difference between bioidentical and synthetic hormones 3) The final word on the controversy surrounding hormone replacement therapy and the increased risk of cancer (We discuss the 2009 study - he breaks it all down) 4) Mistakes we see with hormone replacement therapy and how you can avoid them --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into how to select the right prenatal as you prepare for your baby. As we prepare for pregnancy success, a prenatal is an essential part of our fertility toolkit. However, not all prenatal supplements are created equal in terms of quality, nutrients, and delivery systems. There can be a lot of confusion, and buying a prenatal on Amazon is never a good idea. Should your prenatal have folic acid or methylfolate? Is iron really a good idea in a prenatal or can it lead to complications? What about Vitamin A (we discuss the studies) and should your prenatal contain iodine? So how do we know how to select the right prenatal? In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why it is so important to ensure your prenatal has methylated folate rather than folic acid. (Plus, what you need to know if you have the MTHFR gene variant. Hint 60-80% of the population has it.) 2) How much choline we need when we are TTC 3) The importance of vitamin A during pregnancy (i.e. we discuss testing and why a vegan/vegetarian diet may require supplementation) 4) Does your prenatal contain iodine? Many of us that consume a Western diet and are deficient in iodine (i.e. required for thyroid production, which is essential for pregnancy success) 5) Why we don't want iron in our prenatal (i.e. supplementing iron in an iron-sufficient or iron-overloaded person can lead to pre-term delivery, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, inflammation, and oxidative stress) --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into male factor fertility diagnosis and how to optimize pregnancy success. Although we specialize in complex cases such as low AMH, high FSH, diminished ovarian reserve and premature ovarian insufficiency, many couples are coming to us with both female and male factor infertility. The Fab Fertile Method effectively addresses both male and female fertility conditions. That is why we coach couples. It is not only about getting the female healthy for pregnancy – we must include the male partner to increase the chances of getting pregnant naturally. So whether there is poor semen count, low motility, DNA fragmentation or low morphology, there are always specific tips to improve male fertility. Remember, it is a myth that sperm does not decline with age. In this episode, you'll learn about: 1) Functional reference ranges for the semen analysis to identify healing opportunities to achieve optimal fertility. We discuss count, motility, morphology, DNA fragmentation and more. (i.e. rushing to IVF is not the answer - in 70-80 days with targeted diet/lifestyle changes, we can see an enormous improvement in semen quality) 2) Diet/lifestyle and the impact on male fertility (i.e. the final word on alcohol) 3) Themes we see with male factor fertility 4) Environmental toxins and how to reduce exposure to improve male fertility 5) Supplement recommendations to optimize male fertility - Fab For Life Natural Fertility Collection https://fabfertile.com/collections/supplements --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into how the womb holds emotions. Going through the fertility journey can bring up all kinds of emotions – sometimes all at once. Friends and family may not understand how you're feeling. It's not their fault. We need to educate those around us and surround ourselves with a support team. That's why our Fab Fertile Method takes a mind, body and spirit approach to your fertility. Because although balancing the thyroid, optimizing blood sugar, personalizing diet and eradicating gut infections are essential for reproductive health, it's equally important to acknowledge the chronic stress and emotional impact this journey has on our life. How can we start to process the grief, frustration, impatience and stuck emotions to see a positive path forward? And what if our womb was holding these stuck emotions? I'm excited to welcome Carolina Sotomayor. Carolina is a Fertility Reiki Womb Healer serving women trying to conceive. We're digging into bodywork and why this matters when you are TTC. I know you may feel panicked about getting pregnant and having your baby. After all, the fertility industry pushes us towards aggressive IVFs, treatment after treatment, without considering the couple's health. At Fab Fertile, we are not anti-IVF. But moving towards another IVF or even selecting IVF in the first place without working on your health can backfire. We see many couples that have experienced multiple failed IVFs and are still told to keep going with another retrieval or transfer. But that thinking would be wrong. Because when we're in fight or flight mode, the body wants to survive, not procreate. When I speak with couples that are TTC, I can see the panic, worry and overwhelm in their eyes. They tell me they feel powerless and hopeless. And the uncertainty can cause so much stress. I know firsthand how this feels. Taking control of your health puts you in the driver's seat. You reduce the uncertainty and help to visualize a path forward. So how do we show our body that it's safe to procreate? Today I'm excited to welcome Dr. Elliot Berlin. Dr. Elliot is an award-winning prenatal chiropractor, childbirth educator, labour support bodyworker, and co-founder of Berlin Wellness Group in Los Angeles, California. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Which types of bodywork can help to increase blood flow to the reproductive organs 2) How to balance the autonomic nervous system so the body knows it is safe to procreate 3) Why panic and impatience with getting pregnant can hold you back and how to switch your mindset right now to visualize pregnancy success --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Connect with Dr. Elliot Berlin Website | DoctorBerlin.com https://www.doctorberlin.com/ Instagram @DoctorBerlin https://www.instagram.com/doctorberlin/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into how to know which diet is right for your fertility. POP QUIZ: What exactly makes a great diet to optimize fertility? - Keto? - Carnivore? - Paleo? - AIP? Truth is, it's none of the above. The most important factor is consuming the diet that is right for YOU ✅Because those diets may have worked for someone else, but ✅We're all DIFFERENT and that diet might not be right for YOU That's why it's so important to figure out > How food impacts your reproductive health > Which foods to AVOID to reduce inflammation > Which foods to ADD to prepare for pregnancy success Remember: If your body is under attack, it wants to survive, not procreate. Once you've figured out the foods that are right for your body, you can personalize your diet so that you can improve your fertility. One of my favorite ways to do this is by starting an elimination diet: - Take out the TOP allergens for 10 days (gluten, dairy, corn, eggs, soy, peanuts, processed sugar and alcohol) - Systematically reintroduce the foods over the course of 30 days. This is a customized approach and you'll know for sure how FOOD impacts your body. There's never a perfect time however, you need to rip off the bandaid and START. ✅Get our free Fertilty Diet Guide (includes 5 day meal plan/grocery shopping list - all free from the TOP allergens). In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Is your infertility a symptom of something else going on in your body? (Hint – digestive issues, skin problems, mood problems, joint issues and autoimmunity are ALL clues) 2) What is leaky gut, and why this matters if you're TTC 3) Which foods to avoid and how to reintroduce them 4) Which foods you will eat (it's NOT about starving or drinking green juice) 5) How to commit and actually start 6) Supplement recommendations and lifestyle strategies to support you --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Get your free copy of our Spring Fertility Recipe Guide (includes 5-day meal plan/grocery shopping list, all free from the TOP allergens) at https://www.fertilitydietfreebie.com/. We're digging into the MTHFR gene variant and why this matters when you are TTC. You may have heard about the importance of getting tested for the MTHFR gene variant if you are trying to conceive. MTHFR variants are associated with difficult conception and early pregnancy loss due to problems with the endometrium and implantation. IVF studies have shown that women with MTHFR mutations are more likely to experience recurrent implantation failure. Some men with fertility problems have low MTHFR function in their sperm. You can't change your genes, but there is a lot you can do to support your nutrient levels, bypassing the MTHFR enzyme. These include lifestyle changes, dietary habits, and supplementation. Today I'm excited to welcome Ricardo Miranda. Ricardo is the CEO of MTHFRdoctors.com. He is a clinician and one of the top researchers in the field of MTHFR genetic mutation. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why addressing MTHFR is essential when you are on the fertility journey (i.e. which supplement is essential and what so many people are still getting this wrong) 2) What studies tell us about MTHFR and optimal fertility 3) The link between miscarriage and MTHFR gene variant 4) Why testing blood homocysteine is crucial, and it's still not a standard of care in conventional medicine 5) Specific diet and lifestyle strategies and exactly which markers to test --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into how to select the right probiotic to improve fertility. Probiotics seem to be everywhere. Products such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and shots of apple cider vinegar all tout a beneficial impact on your gut. The oral, gut and vaginal microbiome all play an important role in optimal fertility. As part of our Fab Fertile Method, we utilize cutting-edge functional testing that helps to identify infections and replenish beneficial bacteria in the gut and vaginal microbiome. Optimizing the health of the vagina and womb is essential to guard against infection to ensure a conducive environment for fertilization and implantation. We're digging into how to choose the right Vitamin D as you prepare for your baby. Over 1 billion people are deficient in this essential hormone. It is so important for immune function, bone health, inflammation reduction and much more. Vitamin D also plays a crucial role in fertility for both men and women. When you are low in this hormone, the research supports that it is a marker for reduced fertility. We see levels in the single digits and teens for couples on the fertility journey. Supplementing is essential (with regular testing), and addressing why it's low in the first place will help to optimize the levels. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why Vitamin D is essential for egg and sperm health 2) What the research is telling us about pregnancy rates with vitamin D levels 3) Functional levels for Vitamin D and how to know if your current level is optimal 4) Reasons for low Vitamin D (i.e. thyroid, autoimmunity, high cortisol, gut infections etc.) 5) How much Vitamin D we need for optimal fertility, and what type of vitamin D (i.e. common mistakes with type and dosing) --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into CoQ10 and how it can help with fertility. Before discovering the power of nutrition and targeted supplements, the only vitamins I had taken were Flintstone vitamins (yep, the ones filled with dyes and sugar). I thought I only needed daily vitamins if I was deficient in something. Turns out, there are vitamins and minerals that we simply can't get from food. Nutritional imbalances can cause many symptoms that we don't recognize as being from a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Optimizing your health prior to conception is essential. What if there was something you could do to support egg quality, sperm health and pregnancy rates? CoQ10 is a potent antioxidant that helps decrease inflammation, which is essential for pregnancy. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What studies say about this antioxidant and how it can improve embryo quality with diminished ovarian reserve 2) Egg and sperm health improvements and fertilization rates 3) The difference between ubiquinone and ubiquinol and what the studies tell us for someone who is TTC 4) Diet sources for this CoQ10 --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into how to select the correct fertility supplements. Figuring out which supplements to take to optimize fertility may have you feeling overwhelmed. Many supplements can actually harm our fertility. They can have fillers, binders, synthetic ingredients, dyes, preservatives and chemical additives. Also, many supplements contain top allergens like gluten, soy and dairy that can impede the chances of pregnancy success. So what are the foundational supplements for fertility, and how do we select a product that is right for us? In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Foundational supplements to enhance both male and female fertility 2) Which supplement helps with egg quality, reduces the risk of early miscarriage and helps with the production of healthy sperm 3) Supplements that help with sperm quality and motility 4) How this supplement can balance estrogen for women and testosterone for men - plus increase libido for both sexes. --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Excited to announce the launch of our Fab For Life Naturals Fertility Collection! We're digging into why addressing adrenal dysfunction matters when TTC. As I write this late in the evening, making sure I don't miss my podcast deadline, I'm reminded that I used to push myself to the limits ALL the time. I consider myself dependable, loyal, honest and someone who gets stuff done. But getting stuff done (although it's my superpower) has also compromised my health. I pushed myself too much and didn't listen to my body. I was diagnosed with POI over 25 years ago, and the conventional medicine approach still tells us donor eggs are our only option and to get hormone replacement therapy ASAP. I had no idea until years later that the chronic stress (mental, emotional and biochemical) was destroying my fertility. What I know for sure is there are specific changes you can take right now to address your health and kick-start your fertility. Let's learn how to optimize two little glands that influence your egg health, mood, energy, immunity and POI. Katy Bradbury is our clinical advisor here at Fab Fertile. She is an integral part of our Couples Coaching program - which uses functional lab testing, diet, and lifestyle changes to dramatically improve conception. If you are struggling with infertility...your body is desperately trying to tell you something...focusing on your health will either help you get pregnant naturally, or if you do need to go to the fertility clinic, it will improve your chances of success. Katy Bradbury is a registered nurse and nutritional therapist from the UK. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) What the adrenals have to do with fertility (there are differences between adrenal fatigue and HPA dysfunction) 2) Signs of adrenal dysfunction and some potential causes 3) The impact of the adrenals on the thyroid 4) MTHFR and the adrenals (how to support methylation) 5) Diet/lifestyle and supplement recommendations to support the adrenals and improve egg health and fertility --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Stuck in a food rut? We're digging into how to know if IVF is your next best step to improve your chances of pregnancy success. I know firsthand what it's like to be told that IVF is your only option to have children. In my case, I was diagnosed with POI/POF at 28 and told that I could only have children with donor eggs. I know that IVF can feel like your next logical step. You probably feel like you've already tried everything. I know that when I dreamed of having my family – it certainly wasn't with IVF. And although IVF can be successful – with an average 30% success rate – what about the couple that has 1,2,3,4 or more failed cycles? I see this quite regularly and it is heartbreaking and financially devastating. So before you commit emotionally and financially to another IVF cycle I want you to know the exact steps you can take to improve your chances of pregnancy success. This episode is for you if: You want to prepare your body naturally for pregnancy but you have no idea how to fast-track your chances of pregnancy success. You are ready to get pregnant and have your baby and think IVF is your next best option but you want to know how to increase your chances of a successful transfer. You have low AMH/high FSH and you've already experienced failed IVF, cancelled cycles or been told you are a poor responder, but you've been told IVF is your only option to conceive. In this episode you'll learn: How to improve pregnancy success when IVF seems to be your only option. You've already tried everything! I discuss what we see conventional medicine regularly misses so that you can address missed healing opportunities. How to stop wasting time! I know you may already feel like you are panicking about getting pregnant. Top time wasters that I see when you are on the fertility journey. How to know if it is time to start IVF. How to get your partner on board with the changes and optimize your chances of a successful IVF. --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Stuck in a food rut? We're digging into eczema and why this matters when you are TTC. I had eczema when I was a baby, and then it flared up in my teens. I remember having itchy eyelids, my lips were allergic to every type of lip balm (they were always cracked and dry), and the skin folds of my arms were red and raw from all my scratching. I tried every type of cream, but nothing helped. I used hydrocortisone cream for years and saw many dermatologists, but no one could figure out why I had eczema. As you may know, I was diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency at 28. Fast forward to working on my health. My eczema disappeared when I addressed food sensitivities, gut infections, and chronic stress. No creams required. The health of the skin is a direct reflection of the health of the gut. If you have acne, skin rashes, dermatitis, eczema, or psoriasis and are TTC, this is a clue to dig deeper. Rushing to IVF without addressing your health doesn't make sense. You'll waste time and money. However, if you work on your health, you'll either get pregnant naturally, or if you choose IVF, you'll increase your chances of implantation and successful pregnancy. Today I'm welcoming Dr. Ana-Maria Temple. Dr. Temple is a pediatrician specializing in children's wellness. Her mission is to change kids' and families' lives through clinical work and education. Check out her book: Ending the Eczema Epidemic: Surprising Solutions to Transforming Your Skin from Within. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why eczema in babies can be linked to the health of the mother, and what can be done to prevent it 2) Why chronic disease begins in the womb and how to optimize preconception health before conception eczema, asthma, seasonal allergies, ear infections, ADHD and anxiety in children 3) The hidden root cause of chronic eczema (i.e. leaky skin) 4) How do food sensitivities trigger skin rashes (i.e. foods to avoid and foods to add) --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to invite you to a special LIVE masterclass on February 7, 2023 at 8 pm EST. We're digging into how and why addressing stress with the HeartMath methodology can help when TTC. Like many of you, I stopped setting new year's resolutions and instead focus on intentions. Daily practices are so foundational for my sanity. Such as having a good sleep, getting outside once a day, eating food that makes me feel great and talking to friends or family members. But what happens when we still feel stressed? Because life is busy and stress IS part of the equation. I know I'm stressed when I get too serious, am easily angered or feel super impatient. I know you want to have your baby in 2023. That's why you're reading this right now. What if all that stress you were dealing with was impacting your chances? And no, I'm not going to tell you just to relax. But what if there was a quick and easy method you could use each day that helps to move you from producing cortisol to producing DHEA? We're digging into why gluten matters if you are TTC. I get this question all the time, “Should I go gluten free if I'm trying to conceive?” As you may know, I was diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency at 28 and had both my kids with donor eggs. Years later I discovered food sensitivities, gut infections and chronic stress were the cause of my infertility. I had no idea that gluten was a problem for my health until years later. Looking back the symptoms were there – bloating, dark circles under my eyes (indicator of food sensitivity), acne, dizziness, mood swings, keratosis pilaris (also known as chicken skin on the back of my arms – exfoliation didn't help) and of course infertility. As you may know, we work with complex cases such as low AMH, high FSH, diminished ovarian reserve and premature ovarian insufficiency/failure. We see a theme of non-celiac gluten sensitivity with food sensitivity tests coming back with gluten off the charts. I'm excited to welcome Brandy Buskow back to the podcast. Brandy is part of my team here at Fab Fertile. She is an integral part of our Couples Coaching program - which uses functional lab testing, diet, and lifestyle changes to dramatically improve conception. We're digging into common mistakes we see on the fertility journey. I started the Get Pregnant Naturally podcast five (5) years ago on January 1, 2018. In the beginning, I recorded with audio only because the thought of doing video was too intimidating. I like to prepare my episodes beforehand, so I thought it would look weird if I were always referring to my notes. After recording 383 episodes of the podcast, I'm well past the point of caring what I look like on camera or sound like on audio. The main point is to provide value to you, the listener. After all, I'm on a mission to spread the word about the power of functional medicine, nutrition, and natural fertility solutions. I curate each episode with you, the listener, in mind. The topics are endless as the fertility journey impacts all aspects of our lives. I get inspiration from our clients, my followers on social media, and members of the Fab Fertile community. To date, we have over 760,000 downloads from listeners all over the world. I am humbled and grateful that you are here and that you spend your precious time listening to each episode. It really does mean the world to me. So as we begin the New Year, I want you to know that you are not alone. The journey to conceive can take over your life, but can you choose to reframe your experience and trust deep in your heart that your baby's soul is here now. I want you to have a plan for 2023 to improve your chances of pregnancy success. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) How to stop wasting time and fast-track pregnancy success (hint: it's not about consuming the latest fertility superfoods or starting fad diets) 2) Why focusing on the basics shifts the needle faster 3) This one theme we see with couples and how it can strain your relationship --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to introduce you to the Inito fertility monitor, an easy, at-home fertility tracker that gives accurate results while cutting down on your time and expenses. We're digging into why these symptoms matter when you are TTC. Many times we get myopically focused on egg health and miss all the other symptoms that may be contributing to our fertility diagnosis. Our body wants to procreate, but right now, it may be under attack by seemingly healthy foods, gut infections, environmental toxins and more. We can research and figure out what worked for someone else or take a targeted approach and determine what is right for our bodies. With a targeted approach, you can get pregnant naturally or increase your chances of pregnancy success with your eggs. This episode is for you: 1. You know there is a reason why it's not working, but no one has run the tests to figure out why (hint, it's not about focusing on egg quality) 2. We're digging into the research on how to manage stress with heart rate variability. We all know that stress matters when we are TTC. But how do we quickly identify and address the stressors in our lives? Right now, you may be meditating, visualizing, practicing breathwork, doing yoga, progressive muscle relaxation, acupuncture and more to reduce stress. And while we like all of those modalities, and we can use them to move us from the sympathetic (fight or flight) to the parasympathetic (rest and digest), many of these techniques may not be truly effective. You can meditate and still experience an incoherent heart rate because you may be dealing with frustration, impatience, anger, and sadness that keeps you stuck in a pattern that drives cortisol production. That's why we love this simple technique that uses heart-focused breathing that moves us from stressed to calm in only a few minutes. And when done consistently, we can see improvements in energy, sleep, focus, calmness, anxiety and depression. Today I'm excited to welcome Sheva Carr to the podcast. Sheva is the Founding CEO of Fyera! / Heart Ambassadors, the Fyera Foundation, and a Co-Director of HeartMath Healthcare and HeartMath's Heart Mastery program. In this episode, you'll learn: 1) Why heart rate variability is crucial for hormonal balance 2) How to move from a stress response to a relaxation response using a simple yet powerful technique 3) What research tells us about this technique and why it is so effective for overall health (i.e. 25 years of research and over 400 peer-reviewed studies) 4) How we can move from impatience to trusting our intuition that everything is working for us --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ Free HeartMastery Consultation: https://heartmastery.com/free-30-minute-heartmastery-personal-consultation I'm excited to introduce you to the Inito fertility monitor, an easy, at-home fertility tracker that gives accurate results while cutting down on your time and expenses. We're digging into identifying and recovering from burnout when you are on the fertility journey. Chronic stress and burnout can sneak up on us, especially when we are in the middle of a struggle. The fertility journey can impact our lives, including social interactions, relationships, careers, joy and intimacy. You may be feeling overwhelmed with all the expectations and obligations. When women were asked, “What is burnout?” as research for the book, Burnout by Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski, not one person said, “I don't know what that is!” Everyone said, “Burnout, yes, I've experienced that before.” You may struggle with constant sickness (i.e. colds and flu), irregular menstrual cycles, insomnia, headaches and more. Because when you are chronically stressed, your digestion slows, your immune function shifts, and ultimately your reproductive health suffers. So how do we identify and recover from burnout to prepare for pregnancy success? Today I'm welcoming Dr. Rajka Milanovic Galbraith back to the podcast. Dr. Rajka has successfully led families to optimal health for over two decades as a board-certified Family Medicine doctor. She is now exclusively a leading Functional Medicine Consultant certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). In this episode, you'll learn: 1) The themes we see with women who have burnout and are TTC 2) How burnout impacts our reproductive health 3) How to regulate your thoughts, behaviours and daily actions 4) Diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations to reverse burnout --- RESOURCES: Fab Fertile Method https://www.fabfertile.com/what-we-do/ I'm excited to invite you to a special masterclass - where you'll learn How To Improve Your Chances Of Pregnancy Success If You Have Low AMH/High FSH.
