POPULARITY
Every now and again I'll get questions like "WHY did you start this podcast, especially with everything you've got going on?!" and less commonly but still sometimes I'll get "HOW DO YOU START A PODCAST!", so on this week's episode I'm answering both. Here's what I really hope you take away from this episode, ESPECIALLY if you have zero interest in ever having a podcast...it's not as hard as you think it is to pursue your dreams. You're probably overthinking it when you should take action instead! You'll hear on this episode how long it took me to finally do the damn thing and launch this podcast (and boy oh boy did I not even FATHOM how amazing this community would turn out to be), and then how honestly SIMPLE it was to do once I did a little (free) research on the internet. I TOTALLY overthought the process and didn't give myself enough credit, and something tells me, that might resonate with you. So whatever you're sitting on that you want to do but either feel underqualified or think it's going to be expensive and complicated - it's probably not and you definitely ARE qualified. I HOPE that's your takeaway here! PS - you'll hear me talking about my time as a Beachbody coach as part of the journey of getting me here. I'm not actively coaching anymore, I'm not trying to sell you on that, but I am FOREVER grateful for my time as a coach because of the people I met, the lessons I've learned and tbh their workouts and pre-workout formula are kickass and I love them. Again, not recruiting, but my story isn't complete without including the influence my coaching community had on me and I love them forever for it ;) I wouldn't be here doing this without them and to be frank, I probably wouldn't have completed my residency without them either.
Breaking it down.. Morals, values and deal breakers. This morning we talked about the importance of the people you're surrounded by and how this can influence you and impact you. I shared some examples of times in my life where I was FULLY immersed in the hustle hustle culture - and the 'you can sleep when you're dead' type of thinking. We all have a set of morals and values that are important to us, regardless if we articulate it clearly or passively. It's up to YOU how you articulate this.. but it's important that you think about it strategically. Your audience is looking for something in you that makes them think "HOLY TOLEDO! This is my person. These are my people. I want to work with them, buy from them and be in their energy"..... A big deal breaker for me, if I'm looking at working with someone these days, is someone who is only working. Someone who I feel doesn't value the same things that I value. I TOTALLY judge them based on their content, their stories, their photos and HOW they are being. The people you surround yourself with are who you're likely to become like... and the same with your audience. Enjoy today's replay! xxx
IntroductionWell we are now four chapters into the gospel of John and we have arrived at the story of the woman at the well. And one of the things we’ve tried to mention now a few times is that this book is written for a very specific reason. And because he’s got a purpose, he’s being very selective. We have to keep in mind that there are many things that could have been included in the book of John that are not there. Let me illustrate this way.Have you ever noticed that Mt, Mk, Lk, John and Acts are all about the same length? Why is that? Because it’s what fits on standard length scroll. You have to cut it off somewhere. It’s got to fit in a book. You get little hints of this cutting all over the gospels. In fact, it seems that there are entire volumes of Jesus life that are purposely not mentioned. You remember in Matthew chapter 12 we read of Jesus healing a man with a whithered hand. That act begins to attract huge crowds and attention from the religious elite. So he withdraws into a more desolate place. And there’s this passing comment. That about makes you gasp in amazement as you read along! John, why not write about that! That sounds like really INTERESTING stuff and really important HISTORICAL data. True. But, John’s point isn’t primarily to record history or keep you interested.None of these HISTORICAL, REALLY INTERESTING miracles are recorded. Why? Because his primary purpose pushes out these secondary purposes. When the editor comes to John and says, “We have too much material. John, you are going to have to choose between the healing crusade of Jesus where he heals hundreds and that conversation Jesus had with that woman at the water-cooler.” John says, “Let’s go with the water cooler-convo.”By all accounts, this is a curious inclusion. There’s no great miracle displayed in the story. Jesus does demonstrates his ability to know the secret details of this woman’s personal life but there’s not healing, no altering of physics in any impressive way.John had thousands of stories to choose from and he chose this. Why? Because, this story illustrates his POINT - HERE IT IS: Jesus is the Christ. Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus is God. Jesus is that long awaited Savior of the world. And this story about a thirsty woman next to a well of water profoundly demonstrates not only THAT he is the SAVIOR but it demonstrates HOW he SAVES.Last week Ryan so helpfully began this narrative and today we get to finish it.ReviewThis entire narrative is about thirst. It starts with physical thirst. Jesus needs water and so does this woman he meets at the well. They both are thirsty. How much more human can you get than that? But very quickly it moves from physical thirst to soul thirst when Jesus asks this woman for a cup of water. You see,He was a man. She was a woman. He was educated. She was not.He was a Jew. She was a Samaritan. He was socially respected. She was socially disrespected. He was morally impeccable. She was morally reprehensible. What this simple request revealed is that as far as the culture was concerned there was a barrier between them. There was racial barrier. There was gender barrier. There was political barrier. There was educational barrier. There was moral barrier.Every culture has these barriers - walls that prevent unity. These walls don’t exist without reason. These barriers are erected to protect values. You see, there’s always this nagging concern - If too many of these type of people flood our social circles, the things we care about are going to be diluted. And it’s a real concern. The things we’ve worked so hard to build are going to be torn down by people who don’t care about them. The minority will become the majority and the tides will turn a new direction. And over time what happens is that the people you fear are seen as a disease. They are unclean. And what do we do with diseased people? We should know. We quarantine them. Here was a woman that for all practical purposes, needed to be socially quarantined because her immorality was contagious. She was a MORAL-19 leper. She was a threat to the health of the community. And she knew that she was perceived that way. That’s why she came to the well alone at high noon in the heat of the day. She had a social disease. So by asking for a drink this reality was exposed. Jesus says, "I see by the way you respond to me, there is a need here larger than thirst. Listen, I can fix the disease in you. I’ve got something that your soul needs as intensely as your body needs water. I have something that is as satisfying to your soul as water is to your parched mouth. You have a longing for love. I can see it in you.You have a longing for value and being accepted. You’re wearing it on your sleeve. You have a longing for real life,You have a longing for eternal life. I see that in your eyes. All the deepest longings of your soul and your heart can be satisfied with the water I give you.She says, really? Yes. Well, then give it to me. Okay, I will. But first, go call your husband. Why does he say that?Jesus wants to get personal. She has a sickness. In order to solve the disease the physician has to get close. He has to touch you.He has to invade your space. You have to expose to him the wounded part of you that you are embarrassed to show any other person. If you want him to heal you, your going to have to trust him.Do you see what Jesus is trying to do. He’s trying to get close to the sickness. But it confuses her because she’s learned how people respond to her when they find out she’s sick. Her whole life she’s been conditioned to believe that when people discover who she really is they will recoil in fear of being contaminated. She’s learned to hide, to disguise who she is, to project an image of herself because she doesn’t want her repulsiveness to be discovered. But this is what makes Jesus a Savior. He wants to touch our sickness. That’s so counterintuitive to us. We can only go from health to sickness. If we touch a leper, we get leprosy. If we touch a dead body, we become unclean. If we touch a sinner, we pick up their sin.If you think about the things that are unclean in the Bible, many of them are unclean because proximity to this thing leads to death. We can’t beat death. So if you can’t fight it, then RUN!That’s what we do. But that’s not what the Savior of the world does. Jesus reverses that.If Jesus touches a leper, he is made clean. If Jesus touches a dead body it rises. If Jesus touches a sinner he is forgiven. He fixes the problem. He spreads health. But - AND THIS IS THE KICKER - in order to heal, he has to touch. He has to get close. He has to look at what you’ve been hiding. That’s what’s behind this whole business of asking about the husband and then revealing the five husbands. There’s a soul injury there that is sensitive. Let me see that area. He’s asking her to let him do his healing work but she’s nervous. I don’t usually let people get that close to me. I’ve had bad experiences with that. And she backs away. Ah, I see you are a prophet. She deflects. Maybe you can solve this debate that we’ve had here about worship. The Samaritans say we should worship here. The Jews say we should worship here. She’s deflecting. She doesn’t want to get personal. Jesus isn’t interested in this kind of chit-chat. He wants to get personal, "You want to talk about temples? Fine, I’ll tell you about temples. I’ve come to make all temples obsolete." Let’s get back to the point. What you really need is me.Jesus constantly able to drive to an individuals biggest need, greatest sin, lack of hope, despair, guilt, need. He’s offering himself. He’s offering living water. He says, "I am Messiah and I can meet the deepest needs of your soul."You want to be forgiven. I will forgive you.You want acceptance. I will accept you.You want love. I will love you.You want to live. I can make you live forever. That’s what he means by living water. These deep soul needs of the heart and the real life needs of the body totally and completely fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the author of love and giver of life. What you need is the gift of God. You need water that springs up to eternal life.Jesus reaches across all those barriers to this woman. And she receives it. It’s an amazing story. The ContinuationSo our text today is a continuation of this. So this woman receives Jesus as Messiah. She receives the living water. And she goes ballistic. In a moment she is changed. She runs into town a changed woman gushing emotion and praise. Why? Because she’s tasted of the living waters! Imagine you are in the brink of death because you are so thirsty. Your tongue is a chunk of dry leather in your mouth. Someone hands you a gallon of water. Can you imagine just having one sip and handing it back? This woman has waited her entire life for these needs of our soul to be met. She’s worked hard to find satisfaction and she ends up parched. Every other promise of satisfaction, she’s had to earn. She’s had to work for it. And she worked hard and it failed her. But here’s a gift. She did nothing. She’s just gushing. The Spirit of God is in her. This well inside her is overflowing. And she’s drinking and drinking and the water is sweet and plentiful. Now the narrative is very careful to give us very specific time markers. We have already been told that the disciples were sent into the town by Jesus to get some food. The text is very clear that Jesus has this entire interchange in the absence of the disciples. And they return from getting food right as Jesus is finishing up. In fact, we are told the exact moment. So from the perspective of the disciples, they left and Jesus was alone. They return and they saw Jesus finishing up this conversation, this women so excited, run back into town. They were thinking to themselves, well that is strange? They didn’t really know what happened. They marveled at the fact he was talking to a woman. But they were accustomed to marveling at Jesus so they just kept their mouths shut. They have become accustomed to the flexibility of Jesus to deal with different types of people. Now look what happens next. They are standing around with their subway sandwich bags. Okay Thomas had the flatbread combo. Here’s some for Jesus. And Jesus just seemed pre-occupied. He wasn’t eating. Maybe he was praying. Maybe he was reading. Now they had just traveled some distance and they know how they are feeling. You know that feeling when the blood sugar drops. Man, the body needs fuel. He’s going to get tired. He’s going to collapse in exhaustion. They get concerned for Jesus. The disciples of course are doing what anyone would have done here. They are just interacting and thinking on the plane of physical hunger. They are thinking in terms of body. But Jesus is thinking in terms of body and soul. This is not the first time he’s heard someone say to him, “You look hungry. Eat.” Those words must have sounded awfully familiar. Remember the 40 day fast just weeks earlier. This is not his first rodeo. When he was deep into that 40 day fast, starving to the brink of human physical limits, the tempter came to him and said, Matthew 4:3-4, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."Satan said to Jesus, “Jesus eat. Jesus feed yourself. What’s the harm in doing that?”But he answered, “It is written,”‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’"Why did Jesus respond this way to Satan? His point here is not that we can live without bread. Of course we need to eat. His point is that there is something more important than bread. Think about this temptation at its core. It’s a daily temptation for all of us: making the concerns of earth more important than the concerns of heaven.Jesus responds to Satan by saying, there is a higher priority than food. That’s saying something since food is a pretty high priority.I mean it’s one of the 3 basic ingredients of survival: Food, water, shelter. Jesus says, “Nope. That’s wrong.” Word of God, Food, Water, Shelter. That’s the order. In the same way that water meets a need completely different than food. So the Word of God meets a totally different need than both food and water.Food can never feed the soul. Ingesting God’s words feeds the soul which is the highest priority. Of course I’m hungry. But there’s something more important at stake here. I’ve got other food to eat. What is that food in specific? There’s a very specific type of food that Jesus is referencing here. Let’s find out. We have three points here. What is the food? How do I get the food? What happens when I eat the food? Here’s the answer Jesus gives. So the food he’s referencing is doing God’s will.Doing God’s will satisfies a hunger we have in our soul. Most of us ascent to that reality but we have no clue how true it really is. That’s why God gave the disciples this analogy. *Jesus says, “Do you feel how hungry you are disciples.* Do you feel that drop in blood sugar?” Do you have the craving for food? You know that the second you eat that food, you will feel better right? Food is the cure for physical hunger. Doing God’s will is the cure for soul hunger. The difference between the cure for physical hunger and the cure for soul hunger is that with physical hunger we are experts at identifying the cure.A pizza hut pizza, a rack of ribs, a turkey dinner. Any one of those will do the trick. We know how to cure physical hunger. But with soul hunger we get confused. We think that money, or changed situations or changed relationships will satisfy the hunger - but it doesn’t. It’s like biting into a bagel and tasting air. That was a strange experience. So God gave us hunger as a gift to understand the relationship between our soul’s hunger and the cure for our soul’s hunger. The cure for hungry souls, the food for hungry souls, is obedience to the father. Are you starving for purpose? Then open up your Bible and start obeying what it says. His Word is bread. His commands obeyed are like meals for your soul. You can’t find purpose any other way. Do you realize that? Your food is to do the will of God.Are you starving to have your life mean something? Then open up your Bible and eat. Eat God’s Words. Let it fill you. It’s the key!Are you starving? Then open up your Bible and eat. Not just read it, but obey it.Why am I lonely? Why am I struggling with depression? Why do I lack purpose? Do you see the metaphor. The Words of God are food for your soul. You silence the hunger by doing the will of God.If every word that comes out of the mouth of God is the total food option, then that gets broken down into meals. There’s a meal that’s before Jesus and his disciples right now. There’s a specific word of God that needs to be obeyed right now. What is it?So the meal here is to do the work of bringing people to Christ. God has a job for them to do. There is a harvest of souls right in front of them. It’s ripe for harvest. God’s will, and hence our spiritual food, is to do that work of harvesting souls for the kingdom. That’s PRIORITY #1.When a farmer looks at a field yet to be harvested, he’s got to ignore his physical hunger. He has to work all day; he skips two full meals, pulling in those tractor trailers spilling over the side rails with grain - that satisfies the soul even though the stomach is barking at him.If you know anything about farming communities when harvest comes, everybody stops everything. Schools shut down. The harvest is on and it’s work around the clock to take advantage of this narrow window of opportunity. They work before the sun rises till after the sun sets. They skip meals. Why? Because if they don’t work really hard RIGHT NOW, they will loose the harvest. The grain will fall over and rot into the ground. The sugar beats will spoil and mold. The rains will come and the tractors won’t be able to get into the fields to harvest the potatoes.I’ll eat soon enough. I need to work now. This is what Jesus is saying. Do you see all that grain out there? All we have to do is harvest it. It’s ripe. Let’s get to work. “Yes, I’m hungry, but this is no time for a feast. That time is coming soon enough. We’ve got work to do.”Now, just pause for a moment here. He says, "Lift up your eyes." You can imagine Jesus sweeping his hand across the landscape. What are there eyes resting on? Samaria filled with Samaritans. The crop is Samaritans. Jesus is turning their eyes to see that those whom they despise are in fact the target of God’s redeeming love.My food Jesus says, my work as Savior is satisfy the thirst of the people here in Samaria. Our food is to do the will of the father. Okay, that’s what it is. How do I get it?How do we get the food? There’s one work to focus in on here. LABOR. We get the food by working, toiling, laboring. We don’t get the food by just sitting around. This kind of obedience to the will of the father takes work. And it’s important to make a distinction between the WORK required to drink the living waters and the WORK required reap the harvest.Jesus has just finished teaching this woman about living waters springing up to eternal life. To be clear. That takes no work. Now, most people CERTAINLY TRY to work and earn and labor for this kind of life. Most people work to try to earn a reputation, earn money, earn a standing, earn success. They WORK really really HARD. They WORK their fingers down to the bone trying to quench the thirst of the soul.Jesus tells this woman. Stop working. Just receive the gift of life. You don’t have to earn these waters. You don’t have to work for these waters. These waters are a GIFT of God. They satisfy deeply. They will never disappoint. Don’t work. Come thirsty. Drink deeply. It’s free. Receive the gift. Jesus is the fountain of living waters and its free and never ending. That’s the spiritual drink. NO WORK REQUIRED to drink. But that doesn’t mean there is no work. What is the work? We work to get people to the well. The real food, the real work, the real toil, the real sweat is saving people from spiritual dehydration by leading them to the fountain of living water. Our work is not to get these living waters. Our work is to give the living water. Most people toil their entire lives to find living water thinking that when they find it they will finally be able to rest.Christians receive the living waters and rest and out of that rest they toil so that others can find rest. That’s what Jesus is saying. My food is to do the will of him who sent me. My food (my work) is to quench thirsty souls.Food and water are two totally different needs. You need both of them to be satisfied don’t you. You can be right next to an artisian well and die of starvation and vice versa. We need both.We can be satisfied with the living waters of Jesus Christ. But that does not satisfy the hunger to accomplish the mission of God.If your entire infantry is dying of thirst and you have the key to a well, sure you personally want a drink, and you could open that well up and drink but you can’t rest until they’ve all had a drink. You can’t just lock the well back up and say, “I’m satisfied” and watch everyone else die of thirst. This is what Jesus is talking about. He has a compassion for those who are thirsty. He has a hunger to see that thirst quenched. So feed your hunger by eating, by doing the will of God. By reaping. By doing the work of harvesting. By laboring. You have a hunger in you to see people saved don’t you?I know you do because you are a Christian. You’ve tasted the living waters. I know you want others to taste what you have found. You want others to taste and see that the Lord is good. You are satisfied because you have tasted and others you love have tasted. IT is when we all eat and drink that we are finally satisfied in community. It’s the difference between enjoying a vacation by yourself and enjoying a vacation with family or friends. 3/4 of the enjoyment of a vacation is reveling in a wonderful experience together, in community. That’s what worship is!What does soul satisfaction look like? It looks like the woman we see in verse 39. Someone who has both DRANK the living waters and has EATEN of the bread of doing the will of God. This woman is fully satisfied. Now we get to finish the story. So this woman runs back into town. And we are given no details here, but we can easily imagine it. This is a small town. Small towns are all the same. Everybody is into everybody’s business because, after all, that’s the only thing to do in small towns. So she goes back into the town and look at what happens.Do you see what happened? This woman had drank of the living waters. And she was so thrilled. You see what this woman realized and what the whole town realized was that Jesus was Messiah because he came to SAVE by SATISFYING.There are two levels of belief described in this section here. The first is they believed because of the woman’s testimony. Now let me point out something rather amazing about this. This paragraph references this woman’s testimony. This is a legal term. In the court system, describe for me the end goal of having a witness provide a testimony? The goal is for that testimony to be believed. Okay, so if that’s the goal, what are the characteristics of a good witness and a good testimony? You need a witness who is reliable, respected, educated, truthful. This woman had a reputation for none of these things. in a court of law, this is like the worst possible witness you could chose. And yet it’s this woman’s testimony that resulted in the belief of many? People chose to believe her. Why should anyone believe this woman’s testimony? There is an answer here. There’s one very narrow example where being unreliable, disrespcted, uneducated, being a liar, being a moral failure helps your case not hurts it. You know when that is?It’s when you change. If you are trying to sell a weight loss product. Who do you commission - the formerly fat or the formerly skinny? When a person completely changes, you know something happened. It grabs your attention. You know how hard it is to change, how rare it is, and when someone dramatically changes, you believe some power was at work. The more messed up, the more powerful the testimony becomes. These people looked at this woman and said, "I believe that some power is at work here." I don’t know what living waters are but whatever they are she tasted em. She’s got what I want. I believe living waters exist based on what I see in her.Now you want to know why this is good news for us. The way you provide testimony to the power of Jesus is not by showing how good you are, how moral you can be, how exemplary your family is, it’s by showing how bad you were. It’s by showing the ways in which Jesus changed you.I used to be insecure and that manifested itself in jealousy, lashing out in anger, bullying people, hiding, whatever…. but now Christ has saved me from all that! I’m free, free, forever amen. Come join the song of all the redeemed.I used to love money and now I couldn’t care less about money. I just love God and his people. Do you see how Christ rescued me!I used to love power and influence and all I cared about was people respecting me. Now all I care about is God getting glory and respect. I’ve been saved from that pathetic condition!Do you see how powerful it is to testify. Now it says that they believed. We can call this level one belief. What is it? It’s the type of belief where you can’t argue with the evidence. You say, “I’m not sure what happened, but I TOTALLY believe that some power changed her. I believe that. I can’t deny it.” They believe enough to pursue it themselves. And then level two belief happens. Level two belief happens at the end of the paragraph. It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world. We believe because we have EXPERIENCED it ourselves. Do you know this is the goal of evangelism? We don’t change people. We just want to get them close enough to Jesus that they experience him themselves. It’s our mission statement. We glorify God by pointing the AFFECTIONS of all peoples to the ALL-SATISFYING person of Jesus Christ. This passage concludes by identifying Jesus as the Savior of the World. Interestingly, this was a common title in the first century.Greek deities were ascribed the same title: not only Zeus, but Asclepius the god of healing, various gods of the mystery cults, and others.Even the Roman emperors were called savior; Hadrian (AD 117–138) was called the ‘savior of the world.’It didn’t have a universal meaning. So here’s what these Samaritans are confessing. Zeus claims to be savior of the world. Serapis claims to be savior of the world. Even the emperor claims the title. But, INDEED, Jesus is the Savior of the world. They PERSONALLY experienced his saving power. Listen we are all in a quest for satisfaction. God has made you with spiritual hunger and thirst that cannot be satisfied. And we look all over the place for this kind of thing. This is the problem. And this is the solution.Ultimately for everyone who experiences Jesus as Savior experiences him as saving them not from Rome, not political salvation, financial salvation, social salvation.Jesus Christ saves your soul. He satisfies. Our theme for the year is Life in His Love.Jesus saves us because as we are loved, we experience life!

Is documenting your processes your nemesis? If you are anything like me, then TOTALLY they are likely always on your to-do list. Ever moving from week to week. But as of now, NO MORE! I am personally challenging you in Episode 63 of this week's Feed U Podcast to tackle one process in your business. Why you may ask? Because, simply, it is THE only way you will be able to scale and grow. That's a pretty bold statement, Alisa. Whatchya got to back that up? I could give you lots of facts and figures, but the reality is this. If you don't write down the things that you do in your business, there is NO WAY you can give them to someone else that you hire to be on your team. If you don't know what you are going to give them, then how can you hire them? It's a hamster wheel and I TOTALLY get it. Which is why I'm taking the same challenge myself. In Episode 63 I dive into the hamster wheel a little deeper. Give it a listen. Here's what I learned when documenting my podcast process (which is a RIDICULOUS amount of 28 steps by the way). You can get all the details by tuning in here to listen to the entire episode. How to start Process-ize-ing your business: 1. Choose one process to focus on. Choose the process that takes the most time and that will free up your day. Look at it and ask yourself, do I even like doing this task? If the answer is no, then you need to outsource that bad boy IMMEDIATELY. In fact, there may be components of your business that you REALLY liked in the beginning, but they don't bring you joy anymore. I totally have a little bit of that going on in my business right now. So, my answer is I need to find someone for my team that would LOVE to do those tasks. I give some other examples here. One last requirement for the process you pick, it needs to be something that you repeat regularly. So no "one-off" tasks, because seriously, how is that going to help you out long-term? 2. Start writing down the steps. Yep, this is where the good times start. (Kidding) This is the NOT fun part of process-ize-ing. But it is necessary. The best way to document that process while you are completing it. Trust me, it can be difficult. Especially if the process is stretched out over a long period of time like website design and build. But, when you write it down you will realize why it is taking up so much time. You will also become aware of the possibility that it can be simplified and most importantly how quickly you can give it to someone else. I talk more about that here. Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be perfect and that you have to start somewhere. 3. Ask yourself which of the steps in the process are a must. Is there a way to simplify the process? If so, open up a new document and start simplifying the process. Next, you need to test your new process and make sure that you didn't eliminate something critical and that the process still works. A great way to test this is to ask someone on your team or in your circle to read through the process and question them on the ease of implementation. Keeping the process down to simple steps will work best, even if there are many steps. Complicated steps lend themselves to confusion and confusion leads to errors. 4. Are there steps that can be automated. A great way to simplify a process is to take pieces and automate them. I give the example of recording an intro and an outro for the podcast that I can then edit in for each episode. I create this once for each quarter and then it's done. It eliminates a lot of extra recording and editing. Better yet, record the outro and outsource the editing to someone else. Learn more about that in the episode here. The idea is to create systems that save you time. Lastly, I walk you through the idea of creating a thought bubble to get started in the episode, here are the steps I cover: 1. Write out an overview of the different processes in your business. I use the example of clouds 2. Choose one bubble (area) that you will create a process for. 3. Write out the process. 4. Implement the process making note of any of the changes you make along the way. 5. Test the process and changes. 6. Revise the process as needed. 7. Simplify the process to as few steps as possible. Which process are you going to document and outsource in your business? Come and tell me on the Facebook Page where I talk all things online business growth, specifically sales funnels, branding and WordPress. Download the entire episode transcript here.

This week’s blog is sparked by a recent conversation I had with my client about asking for a pay rise. Lindsay (for her privacy, this is not her real name) has been running a multi-million dollar start-up as a managing director for several years. The company has been doing extremely well in the last 12 months and for all her hard work, long hours and personal scarifies, she feels it is time to ask for more and she wanted some coaching to prepare her for the conversation with her boss. What makes this really interesting is that the conversation we had was actually not about HOW to get a pay rise. You’ll see what I mean next. After listing a number of very reasonable, rational and critical factors, she told me how much she was planning to ask for. But then I asked her, how much you actually think you are worth for this company in the current market? Without a pause, she named a figure that is 20K more than what she just told me. I asked her why she didn’t say that higher figure first? Then, she took a pause. She told she is very confident to get that lower figure, but it may be a bit out of her character to ask for the higher one. I said, “You mean asking for what you really think you are worth?" I guess that question or in fact, a statement that really hit home. I think many of us can relate to this. Even though if you are confident with your work, talent, relationships, track record and everything else, the ASKING part is not as easy or directly proportional to how good you think you are in your job. I then asked her to imagine the following scenario - please forgive me if you don’t like this kind of example because it feels political incorrect or cliche - but both my client and I TOTALLY got what we are really talking about. I find asking for a pay rise is an act that requires more of masculine energy and so the scenario will be set as such. So here it goes: Prom Night is coming up. You want to ask someone out as a date. There are 2 girls you have in mind. Mary: a nice and friendly girl that you get along well, and she seems to like you A LOT. You feel there is a 99% chance that she will say YES if you just ask her. Kate: She is just simply an amazing girl at school, you get along well too, but you feel she may be slightly out of your league, so to speak, but you really like her and you two just “click” somehow. You are not sure about your chances partly because you REALLY want to ask her. At that point, Lindsay laughed at my silly example. Knowing her, I know she would say, of course, I will ask “Kate”. I know it is a silly example but it got us over that hurdle when we are overly self-conscious about money and self-worth. You can’t put a number on how much you like a person, you can only judge that with your heart. It is not necessarily the rejection we fear, but we simply are not used to be brave and to jump off that mental edge. Click To Tweet If you settle for a “safe” option, you will never know how far you can go. So here are my top 3 tips for Asking For More in life: Trust Your Heart Start with a really honest conversation with your heart, not a very clever calculation with your head. Use your intuition and listen to what your heart asks you to do. Then, take action to move forward, step back or just pause. Your heart will know the when, how and even how much! Stay some quiet time to meditate, pray or go for a long nature walk alone. Figure out what is that your heart calls you to do, and then formulate the steps with your mind after. Asking from a place of love, not fear. Let’s say you want to get married because you feel drawn to make that scared commitment and want to honour and celebrate the person you love versus you find everyone else around you are getting married and you say to yourself “I am not getting any younger…”. or consider the pay rise scenario again,

Ever look at something happening in the world and think "I TOTALLY called that!"? In part 1 of my discussion with Kyle we're talking about all the things our younger selves totally nailed about our lives.
Jody wants to talk about Saunas [0:01:02-0:01:57] "Give me a fever, and I can cure the world." quote by a famous really old doctor (Hippocrates). We've known Sauna is good for you for a long time. Ancient people have been using forever, and it's extremely popular in places like Finland. [0:02:01-0:02:44] Matt and Mike discuss how your pulse can go up by about 30% in the sauna and it's really good for your heart. They describe THIS JAMA study of 2300 men that shows those that visited the sauna 4-7 times a week were over 60% less likely to experience sudden cardiac death and were 50% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who only visited a sauna once a week. There's a dose dependent response as well. [0:02:58-0:03:57] Matt talks about a fruit fly study that increased their lifespan on average by about 5%. That equates to 4 years for a person......but you can't apply to a person. Interesting data, though. Sitting in a Sauna can burn about 300 calories per session. You're exercising while sitting there. [0:03:58-0:04:54] Jody says he read on the internet that a doctor says you can't detox through sauna use since the kidneys and liver are what detoxes. Matt goes off on this topic refuting that claim and telling why he's definitely not impressed by a claim just because "a doctor" says it. Curiosity and the desire to continue learning are more important than credentials. [0:06:58-0:07:53] Matt and Mike discuss the studies showing that multiple heavy metals like BPA and phthalates have been found in sweat, suggesting that you can sweat them out. There is some controversy, but we think that you can detox from sweating in a sauna, and the downsides are so low that it's worth trying. Worst case scenario, you're getting some good relaxation. [0:07:58-0:08:54] Matt and Mike discuss the Finnish study a little more and how it decreased the risk for Alzheimer's by 65%, which could be partly from relaxation, but probably more from the microvascular effects of the increased heart rate and hyperthermic conditioning. [0:08:58-0:09:57] Mike discusses the temperatures you get to in sauna after Jody asks how high the temperature needs to be. Typically, infrared saunas should be 120-140F (49-60C) while traditional saunas must be above 150F (65.5C) to be effective. I would say make it as hot as you can stand it. You want it to be uncomfortable enough so that your body makes the proper responses. [0:09:58-0:10:46] Mike and Matt talk about how hot exactly to get ( "if your skin is melting......that's too hot"). They describe how each of the different sauna types work to heat you up. Infrared saunas work by directing infrared rays at your body and penetrating the tissues, just like the sun. xcept there aren't any UV rays, which are the potentially harmful part of sunlight. And dry saunas work by heating up the air, which heats up your body. So, the air temperature in an infrared sauna doesn't need to be as hot to work. It works more directly on your body. This means it also uses about 1/3rd of the energy of a dry sauna. 0:10:58-0:12:15 Matt talks about how sauna affects insulin sensitivity, which affects muscle growth, but also is really nice to know if you're diabetic. Could be very beneficial for diabetic patients. It also increases HGH. Studies ( H R and H R ) have shown that growth hormone levels more than doubled after 2 20-minute sauna visits at 176F and levels hopped up 5 times with 2 15 minutes sessions at 212F! 212, is definitely too hot, though. Don't do that! 12:58 - 14:30 These studies on HGH were dose dependent. Two 1 hours sessions increased HGH levels by 16 times. We're not going to go into the pathway of growth hormone mediating IGF-1, activation of m-tor leading to protein synthesis and Fox o activation inhibiting protein degradation. Everyone knows that basically HGH makes you swole. You look better, are stronger, and feel better with more growth hormone. I know guys who are paying good money for HGH supplements, when it looks like they could just make themselves super hot and relax in a sauna without the risks associated with pills and injections. Way safer, cheaper, and easier. Basically get super hot by getting super hot. 'r get super hot to get super hot. 14:30 - 16:00 Along with helping gain muscle, the heat can also help retain muscle. A study in rodents showed that the heat-acclimated group retained 30% more muscle that the control group. You're body is always either building muscle or breaking it down. Protein synthesis or protein degradation. Saunas and heat stress induce production of heat shock proteins, which reduces protein degradation. So, not only does does it increase protein synthesis by increasing growth hormone like we talked about, but it stops the degradation. There was a really cool study where they took rats, immobilized their leg, like if you got a cast, then when they remobilized and let them work the leg again and they found 30% more muscle growth when using sauna. Applicable to someone who has an injury and wants to recover more quickly. 16:00 - 17:00 Matt discusses the applicability and how it applies to humans and makes sense. It makes sense from a simplistic standpoint as well. ven while still immobilized you can sauna and even if you can't move the extremity you get the exercise simulation benefits like we talked about earlier with increased heart rate and you get the heat shock proteins, growth hormone, increased blood flow to the leg, etc. It's not just muscles, though. When Matt was training for ironmans, he didn't really want to be carrying around extra muscles for that long of a race, which was like 12 hours for someone super slow like him. And he was obviously much more concerned with endurance. He remembers Ironman Louisville one year where the temperatures and humidity were in the 90's and there was just carnage along the race course. If only these racers had known that a few sessions of hanging out in a sauna could dramatically affect their endurance and hyperthermic conditioning and heat tolerance in general. 17:00 - 20:00 They discuss the study that shows increased endurance H R . It showed that a 30 minute sauna session 2 times per week for 3 weeks after workout increased time to exhaustion by 32%. Now, that's a crazy number, and I don't want you thinking that means you can decrease your 5k time by 32%. The way they did the study they got this number, but in real terms what it equates to is about a 2% improvement in a 5k, which honestly is still massive. If your PR is 20min for a 5k, then this suggests this very simple 2 wk intervention could decrease that time to 19:36. If you're a runner you realize how much intense training would have to be done to decrease your PR by 24s. This is incredible. Honestly, it's so incredible, I had a hard time believing it initially, especially since this was only done in 6 athletes. However, it's more believable because they actually showed the physiologic mechanism of why. Blood plasma volume increased by 7.1%. RBCs and total volume were also increased. So, you kind of get the blood doping effects of P', which you've probably heard about from tour de france riders, without injecting and actually cheating. It's just 'like' cheating, but completely legal. I love anything that basically makes you a better human to the same level as cheating without the risks. That's not the only mechanism, though. It's been proven that muscle glycogen use is decreased, meaning longer time until you hit the wall, less lactate accumulation, and better thermoregulatory control, basically you sweat more and sooner. In the end, if you're trying to get faster or more endurance, then this is totally worth doing. 20:00 - 24:40 Matt discusses the studies on depression. Studies have shown that sauna use releases dynorphins (the opposite of endorphins) which are what create feelings of discomfort. An increase in dynorphins actually increases endorphin receptors. Your body is kind of trying to compensate is one way to look at this. Specifically, dynorphins bind to kappa opioid receptors and upregulate mu opioid receptors. The point is, you don't just feel good right afterwards, but the increase receptors for endorphins mean you're more sensitive to the great feeling of endorphins later as well. You're primed to be pumped and happy. There was a pretty amazing study in JAMA Psychiatry. A randomized, placebo controlled trial looking at this showed that 1 session significantly decreased depressive symptoms, and the really cool thing is that it persisted 6 wks. Maybe longer, but that's when they quit tracking. Now, I TOTALLY didn't believe this when I first read the headline. Absolutely no way that one session of sauna decreased depressive symptoms for at least 6 weeks, maybe longer. Didn't pass the sniff test, and as a doctor and science geek I was mad at JAMA for publishing this crap and I dug into the article with an angry disposition. So, I was pretty shocked after I read it. It's not a huge study. But it's really well done, and I owed the authors and JAMA a mental apology. My first thought was that 'well, you can't blind this stuff. People know they're getting the intervention. It's all placebo. But they did a pretty good job. First, they whittled it down from over 300 to about 30 participants and specifically eliminated folks who seemed to be good placebo responders. Then they did apply some heat, just not intervention heat to the control subjects and about 3/4ths of the controls thought they had gotten the intervention afterwards, so those controls should have a placebo response if that was the case, making the results less significant. But there was still a really significant result. I'm totally impressed. 24:40 - 27:30 Mike discusses how Sauna can make you more pretty, boost your immune system, makes you smarter, and makes you prettier. Now remember, you're not getting the UV rays which age skin with the infrared saunas. So, don't confuse this as being the same as sunlight. It seems from research on this, and just makes sense, that you can increase the rate that you turn over skin cells and get rid of dead cells by sweating. You also clear pores of dirt and bacteria and flush out wastes. AND you increase capillary circulation. So, you should get a more healthful, young looking glow, which I can tell by your unkempt beard is super important to you. One study showed that you can potentially decrease your colds by 30% by using a sauna. Not a huge study, though, with 50 people over 6 months, but we think we have a mechanism, which makes it more plausible. That mechanism is by increasing WBC's, lymphocytes, neutrophils, and basophils, which suggests a stimulated immune system. This was in a 2013 study in the Journal of Human Kinetics. As for sleeping better, it makes sense, but not very much science on this one. It makes you smarter: It's been shown to increase BDNF, which increases neurogenesis and enhances learning, long term memory, and neuronal plasticity. This BDNF increase is also one of the reasons that ketones from a ketogenic diet make you more mentally sharp and potentially helps with neurodegenerative disorders, and also part of the reason exercise makes you smarter. It's good stuff. A really big reason to do sauna. Probably enough in and of itself if none of the other benefits applied. 27:30 - 31:30 Matt and Mike discuss what type of sauna they recommend: Well, we have absolutely no affiliation with any type of sauna company but we have opinions. We already talked about the differences. Your core body temperature, which is what is going to give you the benefits we've talked about should get just as high with either. The air temperature will be lower in the infrared, but you should get a similar internal temperature rise. Infrared are traditionally smaller, take less energy, and pose less of a fire hazard, so I think that's why they tend to be more popular now. That, and the fact that they take less time to heat. About 15 minutes compared to 30-40 minutes with traditional. And even before they're fully heated up, you're still getting benefit from the infrared rays penetrating your body and heating you up. If 140 degrees combined with the infrared penetration isn't enough for you, there's a great hack for increasing the temperature even higher that Ben Greenfield describes really well. We'll link to his site in the show notes. In fact, if you really want to learn more about this after listening to this and digging into the articles we'll link to both Ben and Rhonda Patrick, who have discussed sauna use and hyperthermic conditioning a lot on their sites and podcasts. A lot of my initial knowledge I gleaned about hyperthermic conditioning came from hearing them talk about it and then digging into the literature once they peaked my interest. In general, either are fine. It kind of depends on your preferences. I would caution you very strongly against using wet steam rooms, though. It's fine at your house if you're controlling the water source, but do not use them in gyms or hotels where you don't know where the water is coming from. Normal tap water has chlorine in it that is released into the air when you evaporate the water and you're inhaling that or any other impurities in the water. Well, that goes for traditional saunas as well. The overheating phone incident I mentioned earlier was in a sauna in an airbnb we rented. And I knew they had a sauna, so on the way there I stopped and bought a gallon of distilled water that I could use on the rocks when I needed to. With all the benefits of hyperthermic conditioning, it would be a shame to negate all those by inhaling chlorine gas. 31:30 - 32:30 Matt and Mike discuss MFs briefly: So, MFs probably deserve their own podcast, which we'll do. But if you google around before you listen to us talk about it on the podcast and decide that they are harmful enough to worry about, then yes, there are low and zero MF products out there. Personally, I am very concerned about them and think we're harmed way more than we realize by MF's, which by the way Jody, stand for electromagnetic fields. I hate to be alarmist, but I'm definitely doing everything I can to mitigate their risks to myself and my family. The infrared sauna I bought is a zero MF version that definitely costs more, but I thought it was worth it. You can find plenty of good options for that. 32:30 - 36:50 Matt and Mike discuss how long you should stay in: Well, it depends on your goals and how much time you have. First off, don't be stupid and fall asleep in one for hours at a time. That's called cooking, not suana'ing. Most of the protocols in the studies we talked about are for 20-30 minutes, but you can definitely go longer. The depression study got their participants up to a pretty high core body temperature for about an hour. So, if you're using this to clinically treat something like depression then maybe longer than if you're doing it just to relax or increase endurance or muscle growth. 'f course, in most studies there was a dose dependent effect. Remember the HGH study and the massive increase with higher temperatures and longer duration. Similar to high intensity exercise, fasting, and just about anything else you do for performance optimization, there is a higher risk for badness as you push the envelope. Longer durations mean you definitely need to be more cognizant about how much fluid you drink, replacing your electrolytes, etc. If you really want to get crazy, which sometimes I do, you can workout in the sauna. Be careful, though. Recently I did a high intensity workout consisting of 50 lb 1 arm kettlebell swings, burpees, and goblet squats in a full on infrared sauna and I nearly killed myself. Went way deep into a pain hole that I could not climb out of for a few days. Similar to a feeling I had one time when I got lost on a long run without water in 100 degree heat. Days of recovery. You have to be careful as you're working your way up to more intense sauna. Be careful as you start. 36:50 - 38:30 Let's test this: Jody, you don't have a sauna, but they do have an infrared sauna at the castle that you can use at least a few times per week. So, let's do this. Try to use it at least 3-4 times per week for 2 months for a full hour. Let's go hard with this. If you workout beforehand, then limit it to 40 minutes, and if you workout in the sauna, then limit it to 20-30 minutes. Don't fry yourself. Let's get your blood drawn and measure as much as we can and also have you do some exercise tolerance tests. We'll do a modified bruce protocol on the treadmill and a test of max deadlifts at 10 reps and overhead press at 10 reps before and after. We'll also measure your body composition and weight. Lean muscle mass and body fat percentage. I want to get a good overall view of your health before and after. Try not to workout more or change your diet in any way, though. This is obviously completely unscientific, but we'll control as much as we can. We're tempted to have you do some stuff around measuring overall well-being, happiness, and sleep as well, but that seems too complicated and too prone to placebo anyway. The other stuff can definitely be influenced by placebo, but probably not quite as much as subjective scores. Actually, sleep tracking would be cool as well since you can passively measure that with an aura ring. Add that to the list. 38:30 - end Matt describes some experiments he's been doing in the shower, sauna, and working out in the sauna. He can increase his core temperature to 101.1 in the shower, but all the way up to 102.2 with an intense workout in the sauna. His core temperature does not increase just sitting in the sauna. This is probably due to his thermoregulatory system being pretty efficient in general.
Y'all I am SO excited to introduce you to Stephanie if you haven't already met her online. She is seriously the sweetest and if felt like sitting down with an old friend. Stephanie has an amazing story that is all written down in her book, Lipstick Gospel. I love the work that Stephanie does from guiding women into new and deep friendship, to helping women make the most of their single lives. I think my favorite part of this time with Stephanie is that she wants to help others have a deep and real relationship with God but her goal is to help you meet God right where you are, not like He a scary principal but to have conversations with Him, like He is your best friend. I got to ask her for some advice for my dear babysitter who is headed off on an adventure around the world called WORLD RACE and I love what Stephanie said. "Be like play dough." Don't be afraid of change! Embrace the differences! I just loved that and I know that we could all grow from that! I just hope you love Stephanie as much as I do. I just adore her and her heart for friendship, and not just mediocre friendship but true and lasting friendship. She says, "Friendship is not something to be looked over but something to approach with intentionality!" OKAY....So in this episode I TOTALLY missed spoke...Can anyone tell me what I said incorrectly?! The First person who tells me what I said wrong will win a free KOOZIE!!! A few weeks ago I spent a couple weeks in Morocco. One night at the beginning of my trip, I woke up frantic and unsettles, knowing I was jet-lagged but stressed that everything was possibly not going perfectly. I almost walked outside my room at midnight to try and get some wifi and external comfort but knew if I was going to grow and make this a good trip I needed to train myself to beat the stress from within. I had been reading some books about getting stronger mentally and knew this was an opportunity just waiting for me. If you've got any serious things stressing you out right now, I want to give you an extremely easy process that you can do this instant to take away and relieve the stress. Most importantly you have to realize that this is possible, and you stressing isn't helping yourself or anyone else (everyone will probably thank you!) Here's the process: Think of 5 people who have it worse off than you, though 2 is usually sufficient. Naturally, #1 helps you remember what you do have going for you in that moment (since you aren't in those peoples' positions), so now expand on that to think of all the current things you're grateful for. With a more grounded, logical mind, think back to the original problem. Why is it happening? Is it a fear you have, a bad thought you're creating, a reoccurring feeling, etc.? The next step. What's something you can do tomorrow (or right now) to conquer or get rid of this fear/problem? Usually, we've made our problem really huge, when actually 1 small thing can turn it in a positive direction. When this works for you, please let me know! I TOTALLY know and feel you about getting stressed and thinking whatever is happening is the worst. thing. ever. But believe me, if I can turn a problem around instantly alone in Morocco, you can do it yourself too! Have the best day ever!!! Thanks so much for listening!! Today we sing the sorrow tales of poor Razor, who has to travel the world, a slave to his privilege. We discuss where we have been in our lives, how I TOTALLY fixed that Pacman machine, and why tourism isn't the best way to experience the world.
Admit it. There's something you're procrastinating doing right now isn't there? My guest in (yes, really the) 74th episode features my new “professional compass,” Jeremy Pound, the CEO of Juicy Results where I recently started as their Internet Marketing Coordinator. Juicy Results. Known as the “Internet marketing agency for the Fortune Five Million, Jeremy and his Juicy Results crew specialize in solid web design and maintenance, SEO, and social media marketing. In running his company, Jeremy maintains a keen focus on company culture, and has created one like I’ve never seen, including first-day champagne bottles, a four-legged receptionist named Jackson, and an emphasis on continuous learning. On my first day he introduced me to the Growth Mindset pioneer, Carol Dweck, by listening to her appearance on Bryan Allen’s podcast. It was astonishing to me how much I was able to connect with it, and I highly recommend that all of you listen to that on your next podcast binge. It’s a solid window into my “curvist” philosophy. Speaking of podcasts, Jeremy hosts his own called the New Customer Machine, which he has started in conjunction with writing his next book of the same name. If you are a small business owner or are trying to expand your public profile for any other reason (ahem: artists, musicians, writers, inventors, etc…), you NEED to listen to TCM!! And, his last book, The Bootstrapper’s Guide to Search Engine Optimization, is a must-read for much of the same reason. So, pick up your copy today!! Jeremy and I talk a lot about marketing and being an active business leader in our community, but also about his childhood creative endeavors, parental influences, and what he cringes at being called. Season 1, Episode 24 - This week, Matt’s clearing out the cellar. We’ve been at that point in our craft beer journey when we discover the diverse selection of beers available to us, and realize, “Hey! I TOTALLY need to start building my beer cellar up!” So, the first thing we do is seek out anything that might possibly “cellar well”. Well, that’s precisely what Matt did, and now we get to enjoy the fruits of his naive excitement. The main reason Matt decided to do this was to clear out all of the 12 ounce bottles and cans that were taking up space in his cellar. These beers are mainly from the 2006-2009 era. Hair Of The Dog beers. We kick it off with a vertical of Fred from Hair Of The Dog Brewing Company. Jason provided two of the beers, specifically, batches 77 and 87, and Matt brought batch 70. This beer was named after acclaimed beer writer Fred Eckhardt. These beers held up very, very well, to say the least. Hair Of The Dog and Stone Brewing Co. beers. Next up is another brew from Hair Of The Dog, 2006 Doggie Claws. This beer is a west coast-style barley wine that’s usually released in November, and it’s a pretty heavy hitter at 11.5% ABV and 70 IBUs. Stone Brewing Co.‘s Imperial Russian Stout is up next. Stone usually releases their IRS in 22 ounce bombers, but in 2008, they made a run of 12 ounce bottles that were exclusively for export. But, they held some bottles back and put them up for sale shortly after the release, and Matt picked up a bottle. He also brought a 22 ounce bottle of the same vintage to compare. Feature: “Guess That Brew!” We’re still not done with the drinking, but we decided to speed things up and open more bottles (and a can) from Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Dogfish Head Brewery, and The Lost Abbey while playing a few rounds of “Guess That Brew”. Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Dogfish Head Brewery, and The Lost Abbey beers. The live IRC (chat) really knocked it out of the park for this session of GTB. Props to Bob Vreeland, Dr. Zack, and OC Beer Nut. Oskar Blues’ Ten Fidy really stood out from the bunch. This beer is excellent fresh, and this particular batch from 2008 really held up well. Cans are really good at limiting, if not eliminating oxygen from getting into the beer, and this beer is a testament. To finish this post up, we’ll just list the final beers on the show… Dogfish Head – World Wide Stout (2008?)Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. – Bigfoot Barleywine 2008 and 2009The Lost Abbey – Angel’s Share 2009, Bourbon Barrel Aged It’s amazing we made it though this recording session without getting too sloppy… Thanks for the beers, Matt! Fellow Comm major Nikki Elledge Brown is what she calls a “communication stylist.” Girlfriend and I TOTALLY geek out on communication and theory - why people behave and buy - and after that, she had some really neat stuff to say about 5 figure launches and growing pains. Enjoy!
Dear Diary,Well, it happened again. For financial reasons, I’m forced to once again choose between my two greatest needs; either I can buy Final Fantasy XIII or I can pay rent. Why does this always happen to me? Maybe it’s because I only make $200 a week fetching snacks for George Broussard, but hey, at least I’m working in the industry. Maybe I shouldn’t spend all $200 a week on games and gaming accoutrement, but come on, how am I supposed to not buy games? That $100 super collector’s version of God of War III isn’t going to buy itself, you know! I have to buy it. WITH REAL MONEY. I guess I’ll go sell plasma again. That’s got to be worth at least the cost of a strategy guide! I’d try prostitution, but that didn’t work out so well last time. Oh, that reminds me, I TOTALLY got Trisha’s number! Now I just have to buy a phone and then I can call her!Eric is mysteriously absent this week. Perhaps he was abducted by dingos? I hear that’s happening a lot these days. At any rate, the other three “hosts” yak it up about the cost of gaming. Did you know that Spencer spent approximately 6.2 million dollars on games last year?
