It's a bird! It's a plane! It's… a brand new episode of Go Fact Yourself!David Pogue is an Emmy-winning “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent and an author who's written over 100 books (mostly covering science and technology). That's given him some special insight; like why published tech instructions are so terrible. David's newest book is “How to Prepare for Climate Change: A Practical Guide to Surviving the Chaos” and believe it or not, it's actually a really hopeful read!David will compete against his colleague and fellow Emmy-winner from “CBS Sunday Morning,”: actor and writer Nancy Giles! She's been seen on Broadway and in plenty of movies, but a lot of people may actually have heard her work elsewhere -- as the voice for medicine commercials. Nancy also has a podcast called “The Giles Files.”Our guests will discuss the magic of movies, superheroes and witches! What's the Difference: Eggs-cuse Me!What's the difference between an omelet and a frittata? What's the difference between “excuse me” and “pardon me?”Areas of Expertise:David: Movie special effects, The Electric Light Orchestra album “Out of the Blue,” and Steve Jobs.Nancy: “The Bob Newhart Show,” sitcom second bananas of the 1960's, and black hair products from the 1970s (not including the horrific Jheri Curl).Appearing in this episode:J. When our show was under a different name, we would have a black history month show which always seemed to be one of our highlights of the year. This new episode is no exception! Our comics come out the gate swinging and seem very determined to argue about why you need to clean your ass instead of the topics we were trying to argue. In this episode, we try and settle the following arguments:Who is the black community taking in the divorce, Kim or Kanye?Which is hairstyle is going to make a comeback, the Hightop or the Jheri Curl? And our comics play Kill, F*ck, Marry with famous black directors. My guest this episode is drummer, producer, author, and former rapper, J-Zone. We talk about his new 7” single from his project The Du-Rites with Tom Tom Club guitarist Pablo Martin along with his transition from being a rapper to solely being a drummer/producer. A lot of the frustrations and lack of passion that J-Zone talks about with being a rapper is very interesting and something that I think a lot of people feel in their own creative spaces. Being someone that has been a jack-of-all-trades type person also in the past, his perspective on that and focusing more on specific trades really hit home with me, so this interview is a great listen for anyone in any artistic space. Go cop his new 7” single from The Du-Rites, “Jheri Curl” b/w “Du Vibrations”, on Bandcamp at thedurites.bandcamp.com. And remember, on June 19th, or known as Juneteenth, Bandcamp is donating 100% of their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education. Another week of quarantine means another classically unhinged episode of Sports Lordz. This week, we give our usual quarantine updates and dig dep into the cruise ship industry since we all love it so much. We then get into talking about some actual sports being played by actual humans as the Korean Baseball Organization is under way and sports are once again being played by humans. We also go over some of the latest rumors regarding our Major League Baseball potentially starting up again, but all hope is limited as it's all rumors and proposals. Diego then shares his frustrations as excitement on the recruiting trail is rising for his beloved and beleaguered Tennessee Vols while there are no signs that college football will actually return. Then we get our most recent reactions to the latest episodes of The Last Dance. We break it all down including the Dream Team, Scottie and MJ's massive pettiness, how Michael Jordan changed the world, the New York Knicks actually being good at one point, and how the jheri curl heard round the world. Later we give updates on the Sports Lordz MLB The Show video game league as the playoffs are under way and live streamed on Twitch, and we recommend some content to consume while we all stay home. Stay safe and stay home folks! We're not out of it just because the weather is nice. This episode is brought to you by the good folks at KIA. KIA is here with you during this crisis that is over in South Korea. Ha! Ha!Follow us on twitter, Instagram and Twitch @SportsLordz
The latest episode of the podcast which asks: would you treat YOUR kids to a day out at Flick Colby's Zoo?We're returning to one of our favourite years for music television discussion, Pop-Crazed Youngsters, but if you think it's another Eighventies splurge, think on; that era is not only officially dead, but its corpse is being gleefully stepped upon by assorted Pineapple dance studio chaff. Peter Powell - when he's not doing the Running Man - takes us through a chart which is coming out of hibernation after the Xmas truce, and what a battered selection box it turns out to be.Musicwise, hmm: Zoo have their coming-out party, which involves a BDSM Cossack Human Centipede. Alton Edwards overdoes it with the Jheri Curl activator and fucks up his expensive jacket. There's an appalling video of Foreigner in 'action'. The pace picks up with Meat Loaf and Cher copping off with each other and the introduction of Romo Ralph Wiggum, but then The Mobiles forget to top themselves up. Shakatak. A bodybuilder with an eyepatch for pants makes an accidental Nazi salute at Peter Powell. Vangelis self-isolates with nine synths. The Number One Single reminds us how good things used to be. The Zoo Wankers desecrating Madness shows us how bad things are going to get.Sarah Bee and Neil Kulkarni join Al Needham for an extensive tear-down of the first week of the Eighties Proper, veering off on such tangents as regional ITV, the humbling of Communism in Sneinton Market, mysterious greasy stains on bus windows, how 50% of Chart Music bonded over the Bummer's Conga in Bristol in 1995, and why hiding cock photos under your housemate's pillow isn't the done thing. Probably even more swearing than usual.Video Playlist | Subscribe | Facebook | Twitter | Look at our Wiki, it's MINTSubscribe to us on iTunes here. Support us on Patreon here. Don't worry, the breakup between me and the Girl Scouts of America was mutual. This week I am joined by local comedians Clark Brooks and JJ Curry. We had a fun conversation about comedy, life and why don't take the girl by Tim McGraw is never appropriate for elementary school productions. P.S. I apologize for the background noise. I am investing in a new set up very soon.

The latest episode of the podcast which asks: if Bummerdog was a band, what would they sound like? This episode, Pop-Crazed Youngsters, is one of the absolute landmark moments of the long and storied history of The Pops - the week where all the rubbish of the Laties is finally driven into the sea by streetwise lairy youths with a malevolent shuffle and a drug-induced attitude. And as well as Big Fun, the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays are on too. Those of you who remember this episode as a full-on Madchester takeover - with 808 State on as well, and Vera Duckworth gurning away in the audience in a Joe Bloggs top - are going to be sorely disappointed, however, as the supporting cast is the usual Neighnties rubbish. Jakki Brambles and Jenny Powell come off like the Philadelphia Cheese Advert women. Bobby Brown thrusts his groin at a shockingly young girl who's probably wondering when Tiffany is going to come on. Aaron Neville comes dressed up as a character in a Sega beat-'em-up. The Fine Young Cannibals get bum-rushed by the cast of Dance Energy. The Martians pitch up to blare some Housey rubbish at us. The #1 is cat shit. And Holy Horrible Soundtrack LPs, Batman, it's Prince. Al Needham is joined by Sorted Simon Price and Top Lad Taylor Parkes for a trawl through the car boot sale of 1989, breaking off to discuss such important matters as Top Hatting, raiding your Dad's wardrobe to look suitably 'Double Good', Ian Brown shutting down a bar, sniffing silage, and the introduction of the Chart Music Top Ten. Get on some swearing, matey! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Fellow RFB host Mike Joseph joins Colb in the studio to talk Prince, Madonna, and why 1984 was the best year for music in the 80s! Loyal Caller Tim Keck eulogizes the greatest hits album! Plus, a call from literary legend John Updike! A firecracker of a show! Young Person's Radio airs every Sunday morning at 10 on Radio Free Brooklyn. Listen live at radiofreebrooklyn.com.

With a potential sequel on the way, we asked a question we never thought we’d ask: is Coming to America, good or bad for the Blacks? Guests Luvvie Ajayi and Saidu Tejan-Thomas help us decide.

Alpha Quadrant Characters/Actors. For a ship that was stuck in the Delta Quadrant, Voyager had a decent amount of crossover with characters we knew in the Alpha Quadrant. On top of that, Star Trek often used a roster of regular guest actors for both one-off roles and recurring appearances. Some of these faces familiar to us were well-known at the time while others' careers took off after appearing on Star Trek. Some are known because they were on Star Trek! In this episode of To The Journey, Char and Tristan discuss Alpha Quadrant actors and characters they wish would have made an appearance on Star Trek: Voyager. Which actor from Babylon 5 did Char want to see on Voyager? How would Tristan have put an X-Files actor on the show? Listen on and find out.
IDLM are back again discussing the hair of Andy Townsend, an actually quite good performance from England and David Beckham being the blueprint for all men.
Yup, Sip had a jheri curl yall... did you? It's another random commerical from the Sipster. She's a bit stressed and tired from a long day, but also a little confused about how to rekindle friendship with a former member of the Dork Squad from Jr. High. Holla at ya girl!
