Corey Lucas and producer Clayton Beaird sit down in the Cedar Run Decoy Company studio with Jacob Mayo, the owner of General Vintage and cast member of Duck Dynasty The Revival. The fellas spent the past few days turkey hunting with Jacob in northern Michigan and they discuss the crazy travel logistics that led up to the hunt and the excitement that ensued shortly after Jacob's plane landed.Jacob talks about his family history and childhood interest and the origin story of General Vintage is revealed through his connection with his grandma and her generous spirit. The guys even stopped at a local thrift shop to see Jacob do his thing. The conversation leads to the Robertson family of the Duck Dynasty fame, and how the new series, Duck Dynasty The Revival, differs from the original series. Hi friends! Welcome to The Thrifters podcast. It's Amanda Walker-Storey. If you're enjoying what I'm doing over here on the podcast, please feel free to leave me a review anywhere you listen to the podcast and you can buy me a coffee at buymeacoffee.com/thethrifters. Today's episode is...a little bit tricky. So here is basically a disclaimer:I'm going to be using some words in this episode that may not be, I don't want to say "politically correct" because that feels so like, 90s.I'm going to be using some words that are frowned upon. And the only reason I'm using these words is to be sure that I'm clearly conveying this message to you today. These are not words that I use typically in my language and my day to day. And actually, I'm sharing this message with all of you so that you can also make some decisions about the language that you're using. There are some words that get thown out there to describe aspects of a garment that you may not even realize are rooted in racially problematic terms or are othewise making people uncomfortable, even angry. So let's talk about them.*********Thank you for your support!Follow Amanda @Irreverentfinery on Instagram IrreverentFinery on Etsy Edited by Ben Walker-StoreyMusic by Kevin McLeod

Today's guest is Scott Rogowsky. If the name sounds familiar, that's because you're probably one of the 35 million people to have downloaded HQ Trivia just a few years ago, trying to answer the rather difficult questions Scott threw at us. And while we all may be used to seeing Scott in a suit through the screen of our phones, he's actually been amassing one of the largest vintage clothing collections since 2003. So much so that he had to open up a store just to start offloading some of it. While he's in the process of moving the business online, the hunt continues, adding new niches to the ever growing collection including some items from the late Alex Trebek's estate. Scott's pretty much seen it all and if you're hunting for a vintage tee or hat, don't hesitate to reach out to him, as he probably has it somewhere in the collection. With that said, please enjoy, this is Scott Rogowsky, for Collectors Gene Radio.- Quiz Daddy's - https://quizdaddys.com/- Scott Rogowsky's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/scottrogowsky/?hl=en

Have you ever thought about the impact of your clothing on the environment? When Stella Scott told me she was starting a course centered around vintage/second-hand clothing, I was excited! Before this class, I considered myself "fashion-impaired." But really, I was just lost in how to dress and look good without feeling like my mom.(No offense, Mom...you were beautiful...just not me.)The timing was perfect, as I was pondering my new life as a FORMER corporate queen and figuring out what was next in my career. And this program was truly amazing in helping me explore my sense of style. But it was oh so much more!I had never thought about the impact of my "instant gratification/disposable stuff" mentality when it came to clothing.(Oh, we US Americans are the GODS of "stuff.")I am always looking for ways to improve my negative impact on the earth and the environment, and paying attention to what I wear and how I take care of my attire is a great way to do that! Please follow Stella (she also has some amazing content on sleep) and look out for Classy Vintage Mastery if she runs it again. Worth every penny, every minute. Here is Stella's Contact Info:https://www.linkedin.com/in/stellascott-thequeencoach/https://www.instagram.com/cosmic_strategies/Hello, I am Beth Anne Campbell - author of "Where The H*** Is My Bacon?" and "From BLAH to BADA$$" - two books about leadership from a woman who survived corporate madness for 23 years. I guess there is a bit of gate keeping at play here. The vintage business has been through many eras. The snapback era, Polo era, the Round Two era and now the t-shirt era. Full episode here - https://www.patreon.com/drewheifetzI met Enrique back deep in the pandemic when he was a regular on the live show I had running with Kirby of @deadunion. Since then we have become friends and it was great to dive deeper in this episode into what makes him tick and the history that got him here. @fineanddandyarchive is a shop based in the Hells Kitchen neighbourhood of New York City. We chat about opening the shop, dealing with movies and wardrobe, his history working with Zara, but we go especially deep into trend forecasting and merchandising. Enrique is a master of vintage merchandising. Enjoy! Hour 2: Gio watched a lot of the press conferences yesterday in regards to the merger between the PGA Tour and LIV golf. Jay Monahan, Commissioner of the PGA Tour, is out there taking the slings and arrows as he should be. Of course this whole thing came down to money for the PGA. Gio said Bryson DeChambeau sounds like a moron and should stop talking about politics and 9/11. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio does his best Jim Nantz impression of what it might be like now that the PGA Tour and LIV golf have merged. A caller wants to know if Jerry is concerned about the Saudis starting a cornhole league. Jerry starts with audio from Rory McIlroy talking about the merger. The Mets lost again in Atlanta as Adam Ottavino gave up a game winning HR. Max Scherzer pitched great until he didn't. Pete Alonso left the game early after getting hit with a pitch on his left wrist. The smoke in the area should be improved by Friday. The Nuggets beat the Heat thanks to huge games by Jokic and Murray. Jimmy Butler said the Heat lacked energy and that can't happen. Chris Paul said kids heckle her kid at school because he never won a championship. Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany, sells her used clothes online and people think it's weird. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer thinks LIV golf won in all of this, but the PGA Tour was also saved in the process.
