This week on the first podcast of 2024, it's our annual predictions episode, where we look ahead to the new year and make our best guesses about what's to come. It's part wishful thinking, and partly just hunches we've been harboring, but it's always fun to play prognosticator and imagine what might transpire over the next twelve months. On this episode, Zach and Kat welcome an often requested guest: Norqain's Katlen Schmidt! That's right – that makes this episode a Tenn & Two reunion episode, which is just a fantastic way to start the year. Katlen shares some of her own predictions for 2024, including her thoughts on more color, movement innovations, and the limited edition trend. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. This episode is a two parter. In the first half of the episode, Spence and Buzz exchange the usual pleasantries, discuss some FFF, and talk a bit about Norqain. The second part of the episode features Spence's conversation with Katlen Schmidt of Tenn and Two. We talk watches, podcasting, her new gig at Norqain, and what podcasts she has been listening to lately (this takes a turn, but stick with it!)Katlen was gracious enough to sit down with Spence after hosting a get together with Norqain and Redbar Cincy. A lot of fun was had by all!
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, we welcome a new member to the team: Kat Shoulders! If you listen to watch podcasts (and clearly you do) you probably already know Kat as a co-host of the wildly popular Tenn & Two podcast. In addition to being a podcaster, Kat is a dedicated watch collector and enthusiast, and a talented photographer, and we're incredibly excited to have her on board as Worn & Wound's new Media Production Manager. In this episode, Kat tells us about her evolution as a watch collector, the Nashville watch scene, and why G-Shocks don't count toward the total number of watches in your collection. Since we had the whole team together in one location for this episode, we thought this would also be a great time to talk about some of the recent editorials we've run on the site: Blake's ode to velcro straps, Zach W's commentary on why we should strike “poor man's watch” from the lexicon, and Zach K's problem with birth year watches. It's a fun conversation with some pretty wild takes, so if you have one of your own on any of these topics, be sure to leave it in the comments, because we'd love to see it.To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. Finally, we are interviewing another female podcast host! Katlen and Katarina together started the now famous Tenn & Two watch podcast which is now one of the most established watch podcasts out there. In this episode she shares the secrets that have led to their success, including the importance of being authentic and how the chemistry they share with each other has ensured their audience has kept tuning in. What is even more remarkable is that it's all been done with Katlen working full time, and being a mother with a family to take care of! It's an example of what we can all achieve if we work hard at our passion.

’Twas the week before Christmas, and we thought we’d take the opportunity to put a festive twist on our classic watch matchmaking, Kris Kringle styles. Ho to the Ho Ho people. But, we’re not doing it alone. We’ve enlisted some of our favourite internet watch friends, Adrian Barker from Bark & Jack, Jenni Elle and Kat and Katlen from Tenn & Two. And while you might expect this to quickly devolve into chaos (much like any Christmas gathering), Andy, in his festive-est hat, has tried to impose some simple rules. They are as follows. Names are drawn randomly out of a hat, and two hypothetically gifted watches released in 2020 selected. One with a $5K USD budget, and an end game option with a $50K USD budget. What could go possibly go wrong? Well, listen in and find out. But you know what, we all had fun along the way. It’s a Christmas miracle guys! This episode is made possible by our sponsor, eBay. Full disclosure, there's quite a lot going on in this episode. We cover off treasure, Scorpions and why Andy was suddenly inundated with Breitlings. But the stars of the show are, without doubt, Kat and Katlen from Tenn & Two. We roped the Tennessee watch fans in to help us wrangle a particularly tricky watch matchmaker; finding a watch for a guy who needs to ditch his ugly digital habit and get something a bit more grown-up. Between the four of us, we come up with a range of solid options and waxed lyrical over drilled lugs. And then Felix and Andy delved into the weirdness of the CIA getting into soft-rock and the legal implications of finding a pile of gold in the woods. This episode is made possible by Swiss Typefaces. Tenn & Two Crossover!! In this 83rd episode of 40 and 20, we (finally!) sit down with our good friends Kat and Katlen from the amazing Tenn & Two Podcast to talk our respective beginnings, and to give you some insight in what we want in watches.
