Nancy and Sarah are on record for believing boobs are magic, so why did so many gorgeous actresses hide their tractor beams under a bushel? Could it be a sign of fashion's increasing androgyny… or Hollywood's increasing irrelevance? Then, Nancy goes on a multi-part rant about the Tate brothers coming back to the U.S., while Sarah ponders how those two became avatars of American manhood. Finally: Body language in the Trump-Vance-Zelenskyy showdown. Also discussed:* McDonald's serves the world's best Diet Coke* Please don't tell Sarah you appreciate her* 75% of Eagle Scouts are girls?* “Your Dune 2 fan is not watching the Oscars.”* “Boys just want the pretty girl in math class.”* Is J.D. Welcome to our bonus episode featuring the end-of-year event of the Rwanda Preprint Club currently known as the Review and Curate Club. Dine Roseline Dzekem (ORCID: 0000-0002-8210-9258) created the Review and Curate Club, an open-science and open-access club in Africa, which is operated by an enthusiastic committee. It aims to promote open science by boosting awareness of preprints, scientific processes, prereview, and curation. The Review and Curate Club wrapped up the year 2024 with a webinar titled "Advocating for Preprint Sharing in Rwanda and Africa." The event served as a platform to emphasize the growing importance of preprints in fostering collaboration, accelerating research, and building a stronger Open Science community in Africa. Four guest speakers have been featured with presentations on the key scholarly services for preprint sharing and community-based peer review: Jonny Coates from ASAPbio gave an overview of the African and global preprint landscape; Jo Havemann from Access 2 Perspectives provided an overview of Open Science, Open Access principles, and the opportunity to share preprints via the continental research repository AfricArXiv; Ogunniyi Tolulope Joseph, from the Review and Curate Club, presented the Needs assessment results “Promoting Preprint Awareness and Adoption in Africa: A Need-Driven Perspective From the African Region / https://africarxiv.ubuntunet.net/handle/1/1798” conducted by the club; and Vanessa Fairhurst from PREreview discussed the services and activities of PREreview, and the value of collaborative peer review. Dine Roseline Dzekem, rounded up the event by sharing the club's journey, achievements, challenges, and exciting plans for the future. In this episode of “Podcast in Death,” we review “Calculated in Death.” This is a book that is, according to Tara, a nice “palette cleanser” after the intensity of “Delusion in Death.” While Tara really enjoyed this book, AJ felt this one was kind of “meh,” where the case is concerned. But we all agree that there are so many really good moments in this book, including: The really dumb Candida and her white panther cub and her fancy water harvested from the snowmelt in the Andes Galahad getting pissed at Eve because he smelled the white panther cub on her The suspect throwing a baby at Eve, and Eve making that really excellent catch Baxter telling Eve that Trueheart is ready for his Detective exam, and she agrees The mother they question who’s son is refusing to take a nap, and Eve tells him it’s either a nap or jail saying, “There’s no ice cream in jail, no toys in jail, no cartoons on screen in jail. There’s just jail.” Peabody’s undercover operation as “Dolly” who works as an exotic dancer at the “Kitty Kat.” All these scenes and more make this book a really great read!

What an amazing experience Love Burn 2023 was. A highlight was definitely getting to play at The Freakeasy's Kitty Kat Island on Saturday night to an amazing crowd and in front of…an articulated giant cat that shoots lasers! LAZER CAT. I also had the opportunity to play a lot of the original tracks I'd been working on for the past year including one I did the weekend before the Burn and another I wrote specifically for the Burn. I hope you enjoy this journey! It's got a little something for everyone. This Monday episode is a ramble with Brendan traveling to LUPLAND and Andy battling spotty wifi, but the two react to a delightful and amusing Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. They discuss Kurt Kitayama's rise to win one of the game's elite events, his unattractive game holding up against the likes of Spieth and Rory and Scheffler, and if Bay Hill truly delineates the best golfer from the week. There's plenty of ammo for the “just a guy” narrative from the sketchy drop to the putting at the finish. They debate more about the new Designated formats for next year and where that would have left someone like Harris English. James Hahn's comments are given a quick examination, with plenty of laughs but also a few points that may be somewhat valid however inarticulately told.

It's an unfocused Wednesday episode that regrettably, or fortunately, comes during the best week of the PGA Tour season. Andy has driven down to Los Angeles and reports from his first day on the ground about a wild encounter on the Riviera steps. They also preview the Genesis, but not without pondering if it's getting lost in the schedule or if February is the best time for such a high-profile peak on the schedule. There's a wild divergence on J.B. Holmes drawing a tee time with Will Zalatoris, and Holmes's penis pool featured on a reality show (not Full Swing). They discuss some holes at Riviera as well. Tiger's return, his press conference, and his odds to win being the same as the Kitty Kat are covered. News hits on Adam Scott's election to the PAC chairman and TGL adding a couple gold medalists.
This Friday episode begins with the “Geronimo Test” and the $100,000 price for something called the Smash GC Family Package. Then Brendan and Andy reflect on Brooks Koepka playing in Oman the week of the Phoenix Open. There is some Dynapower scoop from Andy's day out at the Pebble Pro Am, as well as some Kitty Kat facts. They review the wonders of Martin Trainer's website, which proudly claims anti-American and socialist views. There's exasperation over three days of preferred lies at Pebble because of the chance of moderate rain in one afternoon. News hits on WGC Austin folding up after this year, PXG developing a golf ball, and rumors of Cam Smith struggling to find a country club in the Jacksonville area. They close with an SGS Golf advice on guilt by cheating association, calling a penalty on yourself or trying to hash it out with a partner, and more.

Willamette Valley town's mascot was the state's wealthiest housecat; he owned City Hall along with the farm it was built on, as well as an iconic red barn. Today, you can visit Kitty Kat's grave, but his barn has been moved to a new place.
