James M Deshotels, SJ, MSN, MPH, as they discuss palliative care and the spiritual perspective that Catholicism brings to the topic of dying (and living) well. https://multiplechronicconditions.org #endoflife #endoflifecare #catholicteachingondying

Dr. Kuebler discusses the benefits of a well-rounded education, citing his background as an English major; reveals what inspired him to become a scientist; shares his cure for "boring" science classes; gives insight into the impact of faith on cell research; and drops hints about his forthcoming book, podcast and current scientific research. She also brings wisdom to training the 3rd ingredient of confidence, the coach's role! As an athlete, Kelly attended USC as an outside hitter, where she was a four-year starter. She competed in various USA volleyball programs, including Olympic Festivals and the 1995 World University Games. She trained in Japan under Dr. Arie Selinger, who led USA volleyball to a Silver Medal. After graduation, she played professionally overseas in Brazil and Puerto Rico and ended her career on the AVP Beach Tour, being nominated for Rookie of the Year. This is an interview with Dr. Dan. Kuebler, the dean of applied science at Franciscan University of Steubenville that looks at the intricate interplay of order and chance in our universe. Dr. Kuebler discusses the role that physics and chemistry play in biological evolution and the impact of chance events like the Cambrian Explosion, and the meteor that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. He concludes with his personal view on whether the order in the universe implies purpose.
One of the goals of the 9th Grade Experience is to tell the stories of the widest-range of students possible who are involved throughout Emmaus High School. In order to dive a little deeper and really get some behind-the-scenes information, at least one time per month, the podcast will attempt to follow a group of students who are attempting to excel outside the classroom. For the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, that focus will be on the Emmaus Theater Department and its production of the musical Hello, Dolly! We will be talking with freshman cast members, crew members, and anyone who has a hand in making the show a success in time for the anticipated opening in March 2020. In Volume 2, you will hear from Abby Roth, Brielle Eisenberg, and Liza Duerholz right after their first round of singing auditions. They will tell you what it was like to be alone in the audition room belting out some of the musical's most know tunes and trying to impress the directors of the show. They also talk about the jump from middle school productions to the demands and expectations here at the high school. In the Volume 1, released in December 2019, you can hear from theater director Mrs. Kuebler about her background in the theater, what roles freshmen have in the production, and how she keeps the whole operation running smoothly. In the second half of the episode you will hear from Mason Steltz, Dom Zientara, and Jacob Klinedinst before they audition and how they hope to be a part of such a strong and proud EHS Theater tradition.
