Every choice we make in life has consequences. We must use wisdom that is given to us by God to choose wisely. That all begins with a fear of God. This fear is a reverence and respect for Holy God, but that fear can mature into a deep and abiding trust. Ultimately it is our trust in God that helps us make better choices.
How can we indeed be better in all we do? Over the next few weeks, we will look at the main ingredient of being better in every area of our lives, as well as focusing on what that looks like in specific areas of our lives. priorities
The start of a new year is the perfect time to look back and ask what we have learned or can learn from the past year. It is also the perfect time to look ahead and ask ourselves if we are living the kind of life that God wants for us, or if we could do "Better". Pastor Kent is leading us as we continue to explore this together. This week, we'll be looking at Proverbs 1:7, James 2:10, and 1 Corinthians 6:12 and considering how we can seek to make...Better Choices. To learn more about us, visit www.braemarbaptist.com.

Episode 168: Hosts Richard Kyte and Scott Rada discuss the complex topic of regret and how it can shape our lives. The discussion explores the distinction between regret and remorse, with Kyte explaining that regret involves wishing for different outcomes, while remorse is tied to actions that have hurt others. They emphasize the importance of learning from regrets to inform future decisions, rather than dwelling on the past. They agree that consulting one's "future self" to avoid making choices that may lead to future regrets is helpful. One of the biggest regrets people can have, the hosts say, is not acting sooner and moving forward, instead spending too much time ruminating about the past. BETTER CHOICES. BETTER LIFE. My decisions won't be based on WHAT I FEEL in the moment, but on WHO I WANT TO BE for the rest of my life. The devil is coming for you and you are not as strong as you think. Move the line. Magnify the cost. Plan your escape. Jesus has given you the victory! www.localcity.church

BETTER CHOICES. BETTER LIFE. I will seek first the One who matters most. When you want assurance, look to the wounds of Jesus. They are evidence of His love, of His sacrifice, of His victory, of His resurrection. The best choice: get close to God and always cling to Jesus! www.localcity.church
Today, we're diving deep into the fascinating world of decision-making because, let's face it, we make choices left and right every single day. Some are as big as deciding to tie the knot or have kiddos, while others are as small as picking out the right T-shirt color! So, what's the secret sauce to making the best choices for your life? Well, I've got some fantastic tips to share with you:1️⃣ First things first, let's talk about finding your "North Star." It's like setting your life's GPS to what truly matters to you. What do you want your life to look like, and what's your ultimate purpose? Let's align your decisions with that guiding star!2️⃣ You've got skills and talents, right? So do I! But it's essential to choose paths that align with your North Star, not just the ones that bring in the big bucks. Trust me; fulfillment is the name of the game.3️⃣ Speaking of fulfillment, ever noticed how some choices just feel right deep down in your gut? Well, there's actual science behind it! Your gut feeling, or intuition, is a powerful decision-making tool linked to your enteric nervous system. It's your second brain, and it's worth paying attention to!4️⃣ To make even better choices, try the "10-10-10 rule." Ask yourself how you'll feel about a decision in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. It's like peering into the future to see if your choice stands the test of time! 5️⃣ Lastly, remember to pause and reflect. Give your brain some time to shift from emotional reactions to logical reasoning. This simple step can save you from impulsive decisions you might regret later.I get it; we're often drawn to logical thinking, but sometimes our feelings and intuition are our secret superpowers. When you blend gut instincts with critical thinking, magic happens!
BETTER CHOICES. BETTER LIFE. Why do we struggle to make good choices? The quality of your choices determines the quality of your life. When your values are clear, your decisions are easier. Obedience is MY responsibility, the OUTCOME is God's. Decide now what you will do later! www.localcity.church

It is distressing—disorienting, really—to watch the former party of law and order flip the script and attack the FBI, DOJ, and the law enforcement establishment, all on extremely weak and totally political grounds. The Former Guy cries witch hunt, and previously respectable Republicans pick up the pitch forks and torches. Moreover, they have tried in the most undemocratic ways to tilt the playing field to the advantage of their fever dream culture wars, leaving rational thought in their wake. We take a look choices good and bad in today's essay. I hope you'll listen.
