Nato Green started hanging out at San Francisco comedy clubs when he was in eighth grade. Nato's parents met when they both still lived in the suburbs of Chicago. They got married in 1968 and moved to San Francisco soon after that. Nato says that they “were in the counter-culture, but bad at it.” What he means by that is they didn't take their subversive lifestyles all the way like many of their peers did. But they were definitely left-leaning folks. They settled in Noe Valley, which was quite a different neighborhood back then. It was much more working-class than it is today. Think: blue-collar Irish- and Italian-American families. They had their first kid, Nato, and five years later, their second, his younger brother. When Nato was in middle school, his parents split up. He went with his dad to live at 22nd Street and Dolores, and then up to Bernal Hill. He split time between there and his mom's house in Noe Valley. Nato is quick to point out that Bernal Heights was also very different back then. There were even unpaved roads on the hill when he was a kid in the Seventies. Today, Nato uses history and some pop-culture references to date his own memories here in San Francisco. He remembers things like the Mosone/Milk murders and ensuing “White Night” riots, to name just one. The Forty-Niners' string of Super Bowl wins in the Eighties are another. Nato admits that he wasn't the best big brother. He lists off some of the SF schools he attended—Rooftop Elementary, MLK Middle School, and Lick-Wilmerding High School, where he went on a scholarship. His dad worked to the SFUSD for 35 years and worked on desegregation, among other things. He also taught in SF public schools. Nato says he was a “sensitive, depressed kid.” He read a lot, especially comic books. He graduated from high school in 1993, when the local music scene was overtaken by thrash/funk. Bands of that genre were plenty. Nato went to those shows, where he was able to, anyway. He wasn't yet 21. The first indie comic book store in The City was on 23rd Street in the Mission—The SF Comic Company, and two doors down was Scott's Comics and Cards. Nato became a Scott's regular. Others who hung out there a lot became his buddies. The SF band Limbomaniacs lived next to Scott's. Nato goes on a sidebar here about how bands in the thrash/funk scene never really blew up, mostly owing to what a uniquely live experience the music was. In 1990, when the Niners won the Super Bowl in a blowout, the Limbomanics played with guitar amps at the windows of their Victorian on 23rd Street, facing out. As Nato tells it, skater kids poured out of that house, and other neighborhood kids flocked to the scene. A mosh pit soon emerged, of course, on the asphalt. Nato goes on another quick sidebar here about all the different neighborhoods and scenes interacting on a regular basis. At least when he grew up, they did. Nato's main modes of transportation in San Francisco were his feet and Muni. The main bus lines were the 24, the 49, and the 67. His high school was on Ocean Avenue, but he mostly hung out in the Mission. One of his good friends lived in Lower Haight and had a car, so Nato would sometimes take Muni over there. That buddy with a car would also swing by and pick up Nato and his friends. They'd often go to the west side of town and hang out in coffeeshops. Nato rattles off several of those shops, also letting us what occupies those spaces today—Farley's (still there), Higher Grounds in Glen Park (still there), Higher Grounds in The Mission (closed), Café Macondo (Gestalt today), Blue Danube (still there), and the Horse Shoe (empty today). There's another sidebar about Jello Biafra. Nato says, “Don't meet your heroes.” As mentioned up top, he started hanging out at comedy clubs in The City when he was in eighth grade. There was a show on KQED called Comedy Tonight that featured local comics. Originally, the show was shot at Wolfgang's (now Cobb's), but it later moved to Great American Music Hall. Alex Bennet was on Live 105 in the morning and Comedy in the Park was drawing 50,000 people to the Polo Fields. There were five seven-nights-a-week clubs in SF, and at least five more around the Bay. People made a living as regional headliners. Around this time, Nato's eighth grade science teacher's roommate was the doorman at Cobb's. Word got around to that guy that a kid was into comedy, and so he started taking him to that club. He saw comedians such as Greg Proops, Dana Gould, Paula Poundstone, Mark Pitta, Johnny Steele, Will Durst, Greg Behrendt, and Margaret Cho. He watched these folks, some of them anyway, become headliners. Check back next week for Part 2 and the conclusion of our episode on Nato Green. We recorded this episode at Nato's home on Bernal Hill in January 2025. Photography by Nate Oliveira

But just to make things magical, we've thrown in some fantasy quotes as well! But don't expect any of that "my precious" malarky.  The rules are the same as usual: Each of us recite a quote (or quotes) from a film, and the rest of the gang try to figure out which film it's from. Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner. Welcome to Episode 256 of Succotash. For those of you who are new here, thank you for choosing us to listen to. Last week in episode 264 show creator and every-other-episode host of Succotash Marc Hershon sat down with his longtime friend and former roommate Mark Pitta for a chats episode called "Visitin' Virtually with Mark Pitta". You can find that episode in the show archive at www.succotashshow.com and thru various soundcast listening services such as Apple or Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Audible, and Soundcloud just to name a few. What is your preferred listening platform? I'll take my answer off-air. This week I have a trio of clips for you from the soundcasts Salty Language, A Hot Dog is a Sandwich, and Don't Ask Tig…and of course this episode contains a classic advertisement from our longtime fake sponsor Henderson's Pants for their celebrated Down Under Pants. CLIPS Salty Language Just like Succotash, our friends Bryan Stewart and Tony High over at the Salty Language soundcast are into their 10th year of soundcasting! They rant on a variety of topics, ranging from comic books to movies. Recently, in their episdoe from August 4th, the boys Bryan and Tony discussed life, hanging out, bad audio, 10 years of podcasting, Minecraft, non-alcoholic beers, Y: The Last Man series, The Bad Batch, history of wrestling site, Fleets, a SUATMM Galactus figure, their QoftheW, and more! A Hot Dog Is a SandwichMythical Chefs Josh Scherer and Nicole Hendizadeh discuss, debate, and dissect the web's most hilariously controversial culinary quandaries. And in their episode from May 19th, 2021, "Can You Tell The Difference Between Coke and Pepsi?", Josh and Nicole did a blind taste test to find out if they could really tell the difference between the two sodas…or pops, depending where in the US you live. Don't Ask Tig Need advice? Comedian Tig Notaro doesn't have all the answers, but that won't stop her from fielding your questions on life's many challenges. Past Succotash guest Mike Birbiglia joined her recently in the episode from June 21st of this year to dive into the topics of doing a DIY exorcism or what to do if someone from your past wrote an unflattering song about you. That's all I have for you this week. I hope you find some of it entertaining, perhaps informative, various degrees of interesting. There's a LOT of content out there and choosing what to listen to can be challenging at times. Finding time to listen to anything can also be challenging so I am especially grateful that you have chosen to spend this bit of time with me. BTW, I have a channel on YouTube under my name, "Tyson Saner" and a "show" of sorts that features video gaming content from various genres throughout the years. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Minecraft. I've got some videos that are designed to lull you to sleep in a series called "Minecraft A.S.M.R." and, so far, they seem to be doing okay. Also on my channel I've been recording my screen during a soundcast called "Nooner Podcast" that I have been interacting with for 10 years…and doing a live tumblr every Tuesday night at 7:30 for a few years now. Why do we do any of this? I guess it's to have some additional sort of record of these moments in time for future generations...provided that the world is still here for them to look back on with any sort of fondness. Be sure to check out Epi266 next week when Marc will return with who knows what for you to listen to? In the meantime, thank you for listening, be decent to each other, and if anyone asks if you have heard anything good lately won't you please pass the Succotash? - Tyson Saner

I am Marc Hershon, your every-other-weekly-host for Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. You've latched into Episode 264. If you were looking for Epi263, that was last week's installment with our alternating host Tyson Saner. Entitled “Flippin; Hot Summer Clips”, it featured snippets from comedy soundcasts Pretending With Dice, I Said No Gifts!, and Doughboys. You can grab it from Apple or Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Audible, Soundcloud or our own homesite, at SuccotashShow.com. I'm dispensing with clips for this week's show to, instead, chat up an old friend and former roommate of mine, a longtime San Francisco standup comedian, a former TV reporter, and now a painter, too: Mark Pitta! Mark moved from the Bay Area to Las Vegas last year, a month before the pandemic lockdown and we catch up on all sorts of things, including what he's watching, what's pissing him off, how comedy has changed in recent years, and some show biz anecdotes. Mark and I chatted a long time so you're getting a double-stuffed episode of Succotash this time around. Plus we have a new feature at the end of the show – since no one seems too excited about calling the Succotash Hotline these days, we're expanding the use of that number – (818) 921-7212 – and it is now the Succotash & Runaway Trunk Ramp Hotline. We'll see if anyone has any status updates on the runaway truck ramps on the highways around America. This episode is brought to you by Henderson's Pants new Sleepover Slacks, a great pair of pants to be pairing if your significant other, roommates, or parents toss you out on your ass. Thanks again to Mark Pitta for jumping into the Succotash with us. You can see his paintings on Instagram at @MarkPitta and you can find his videos on YouTube by searching for his name: M-a-r-k P-i-t-t-a. Here's the link to the Burt Reynolds tribute video we ere talking about during the show. Tyson Saner will be here next week for Episode 265 so join us again then, won't you? We may actually be a day late dropping that show as I will be out of town for a few days and that's my job, damn it! In the meantime, time to mask up again to do battle with the Delta Variant so don't be a creep – if you haven't vaxxed up yet, what the hell? I don't want to plague-shame anyone but it IS directly YOUR fault this whole thing is dragging out. Does that make you feel important? (Note to self: "Whoa. Calm down, Marc!" Self: "Okay. You're right.") Let me just say that if anyone asks if you're heard anything good lately, won't you please just pass them the Succotash? – Marc Hershon

Hey, reader. It’s me, Marc Hershon, the host and executive producer for Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. In this installment, I'm bringing you the show we recorded live this past weekend at the 17th Annual San Francisco Sketchfest in just a moment.  It's a fun episode, featuring a couple of my favorite past guests: Matt Weinhold, of the Monster Party soundcast, and Mark Pitta, of the late After Hours soundcast. (Weirdly, both of these guys were former roommates of mine at one time, which had nothing to do with them both being booked here. Or did it?)This is epi 162 and it’s going to be the last installment of Succotash for a while or maybe forever.  We also had a surprise third guest who was in the audience: Josh Gilliland, host of the Legal Geeks soundcast, who was tagging along with Matt. Turns out that Josh is the brother of another past guest of our show, Gabriel Diani, and I was delighted to invite him up to join us.  And, although he was unable to join us live due to being out in Hawaii dodging a mythological missile, we were about able to feature our final Burst O' Durst featuring Will Durst, our resident political comedian's predictions for the coming year. Our announcer, Bill Heywatt, was in his glory and shares a tale of radioactive frogs in addition to handing the emcee chores and reading a commercial for the new #MeToo Ladies Trousers for Men from our sponsor, Henderson's Pants. As you'll hear in this installment, this is to be the LAST episode of Succotash, for at least a while or forever, I'm not exactly sure.  We’re taking this break or hiatus or vacation or holiday or whatever you want to call it just a few months shy of our 7th anniversary in Soundcastland. Whether you’re a longtime listener or you just found us, I want to thank you for listening and supporting Succotash.  When I started doing this show with my producer, Joe Paulino, in his Studio P – the Home of the Hit – here in Sausalito, California, I really didn’t think about it lasting for any particular length of time. My original concept was to create a comedy soundcast that would serve to promote other people’s comedy shows, and to spread the word about the amazing entertainment value of soundcasts in general.  I think we succeeded.  When we started, barely 15% of American had even heard of soundcasts, or podcasts as they used to be known, let alone regularly downloaded and listened to them. And there were about 50,000 shows out there. Now the number of regular listeners is over 40% and there are more than 300,000 soundcasts available, featuring every genre of which you could think. Comedy soundcasts, and networks carrying them, have proliferated so fast that we kind of can’t keep up by sampling the eight or ten we could do in our show. And I’ve had more and more people asking me if featuring those shows without explicit permission is even legal. Frankly, I don’t know. Since we’re not profiting by that content – we’re never had any sponsor besides Henderson’s Pants and they don’t ever pay us – we’re more like a entertainment news program which would, at least in my scanty understanding of the law, constitute fair use.  So we’re going to wind things down for a bit. I may bring Succotash back as it has been, or with some minor changes, in a bit. I may release some special episodes from time to time which would likely be interviews with comics or soundcasters or actors or what have you. And I’m definitely cooking up some new soundcast ideas. I’ll still be reviewing shows for Splitsider.com and I will likely get back to doing my reviews for HuffPost as well. And if you want to reach out to me for any reason, I’m still around. The marc@succotashshow.com email will still go through. And our site will stay up as well. Just don’t expect to be bombarded with the number of tweets we normally put out. Thanks again for listening. I’ve enjoyed doing this show for the past seven years and I’ve loved getting to interact with you on whatever basis that’s been, even if you’ve only ever listened and we have not exchanged a single word. (Stay tuned after the end of the live show, as I have one final Cavalcade of Gratitude where I thank some recent retweeters as well as some folks who have been around supporting this show for a lot of our run. I'm sure I missed a ton of people in that rundown and for that, my sincere apologies.) All right. Let’s get on with the (final) show, recorded live at S.F. Sketchfest 2018! — Marc Hershon

Yes, it's me - Marc Hershon - your host and flotation device for Epi154 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. This is a somewhat special (and impromptu) episode of Succotash Chats, featuring a trio of special guest comedians: Dana Carvey, Mark Pitta, and Larry "Bubbles" Brown. l-r: Larry Brown, Dana Carvey, Mark Pitta & Marc Hershon Dana was back up in Northern California the past week or so to do some corporate gigs  (he and his family have been living mostly down in Los Angeles the past couple of years), and we thought it would be fun to get together, along with old friends Mark and Larry to just shoot the comedy bull for an hour. We cover a variety of topics during this chat, ranging from each guys' oldest "solid" joke and Dana playing answering machine messages that he left for someone in the voices of Jeff Bridges and Michael Caine, to favorite movies and remembering some of the old club days back in the comedy book of the 1980s. This has got to be one of the least produced episodes that I've done with guests. I basically just hit "Play", toss in our opening and closing with announcer Bill Heywatt, a commercial for Summer Stock Slacks from our sponsor Hendersons' Pants, and that's it. No Burst o' Durst segment this time around (Will Durst had technical difficulties while vacationing in Greece this week), no Tweetsack. Just some jibber jabber which is occasionally funny, often curious and occasionally not very funny at all. It's basically a conversation. If you like what you're hearing with our soundcast, please remember to get up to iTunes to rate and review us - 5 stars would be great (if you like us less than that, don't bother, right?) And you can help us out financially now thorugh our new Patreon account, at https://www.patreon.com/succotash You can catch us on iTunes, the Laughable app, Stitcher, SoundCloud, iHeartRadio and every YouTube. So tell your friends and thanks for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Helping us discern which of these cliches are terrible, and which ones we may actually kind of like, is comedian/television host... MARK PITTA! (THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JOHNNY CARSON AND LENO, TOTALLY HIDDEN VIDEO, THE COMEDY CLUB) Join us for this rib-tickling and ribald round robin, where we answer such questions as: "Why does the girl always trip and fall?, "Why doesn't the car start?", "What's the difference between a 'trope' and a 'toupee'?" and, "Is STRANGER THINGS unoriginal and overrated, or just unoriginal?" The End?

This is the two-year-iversary month for Succotash! Two whole years. I didn't know it would last this long but then, I didn't know that it wouldn't last this long. If you've been listening the whole time I can't thank you enough. And if you've picked us up somewhere along the way, I thank you as well. Epi55 is not a big clip show - we've only got four snippets from comedy podcasts - but that's because the majority of the show is my interview with the poster boy for alt comedy Andy Kindler. I would have really enjoyed settling in for a quiet, contemplative, in-depth one-on-one with Andy, but podcasters can't be choosers. Instead, I got a rollicking chatfest over a late night meal at D'Angelo's Italian restaurant, the usual hang for comedians following the Mark Pitta & Friends show at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, California. And it wasn't just Andy and me. We were joined by Mark Pitta, Larry "Bubbles" Brown, and Bob Rubin, all of whom would randomly come and go at our table, cracking wise and telling stories as the occasion warranted. In between, Andy answered a few of my questions, none of which really got into his background so if you're unfamiliar with Andy or why he's regarded so highly among comedians, you may not understand why the flock of comics around our table were drawn there like moths to a flame. We do get into some of Andy's thinking about comedy itself and a bit of his history. So it's safe to say there's something for everyone in here. THE SORT-OF-COUNTDOWN Having abandoned my countdown of Stitcher's Top 10 Comedy Podcasts because the top shows rarely change position, here's this week's The 10 Most Active in the Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcast List*: 10. By The Way: In Conversation with Jeff Garlin +5429. Sklarbro Country +1748. The Paul F. Tompkast +6353. The Phil Hendrie Podcast +1958. The Tenderloins Podcast +8680. The Ricky Gervais Show +3081. Dennis Has A Podcast -2695. Frangela’s Idiot Of The Week +3996. NewsPop Comedy +32100. Work Sucks +30  *The number on the left is the show's ranking in the Top 100. The number on the right are the number of places, up or down, the show moved this last week in ALL of Stitcher's rankings for comedy podcasts. KICKSTARTING A new campaign over on Kickstarter.com that caught my eye is That's Not Funny, a documentary by filmmaker Mike Celestino. He's talked to some comedians (and wants to talk to a lot more) about subject matter in comedy that rubs some people the wrong way, and why. Succotash kicked him 50 bucks but he's trying to raise $50 THOUSAND to complete the project. (He's already got interviews in the can with funny folks such as Emery Emery, Jackie Kashian, Kyle Kinane, Greg Proops, and Paul Provenza. As of this posting, he's got 30+ days to go but that's going to run out quick. I'll have him on for a quick chat about the film in Epi56 but, in the meantime, click the link or hop over to http://hersh.co/16ntubA and see if you can't help him out. BURST O' DURST Our regular check-in by Will Durst has our favorite raging moderate peering over at the US Supreme Court's reason tussle over the marriage equality issue. CLIPS The Rob & Joe ShowWe've featured snippet from Rob Maher & Joe Robinson's podcast before. This time it's an indelicate peek into Joe's sexual past. It's not exactly tasteful but, if you're looking for that, there's still terrestrial radio out there for you… The Random Variety Show PodcastAnother return visitor this episode is Charley Miller and his Random Variety Show. The chunk Charley sent us is a story he created with the help of sentences sent in by listeners.(BTW, I'm slated to be a guest on the RVS podcast sometime this month - I'll give you a heads up and a link when it happens!) Todd N’ Tyler Radio EmpireThe Todd N’ Tyler Radio Empire has been cranking on air since 1993 out of KEZO in Omaha, Nebraska. They’re syndicated on a number of stations, on the internet and their show has – as so many other radio shows have – become podcastted. Even with all that coverage, I am embarrassed to say I have never heard of Todd Brandt and Mike Tyler until I read last episode’s The 10 Most Active in the Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcast List. That’s when T-N-T rocketed into the Top 100, landing at #73 and climbing an incredible 306 places in one week. So I just HAD to clip 'em… The Q ShowMark Bland sent us a sample of The Q Show which originates from St. Louis, Missouri. The description off the homesite tells us that the show is about "everything and is liberal/moderate radio for people with a brain!" Check out our sample tidbit and see if you qualify. That's what we've got for you this time around. I'm off on a road trip this week with Dana Carvey and Larry "Bubbles" Brown, during which time we are going to attempt to record enough material for one and maybe even two upcoming episodes. THAT should make it worth passing the Succotash, right? — Marc Hershon

Although there was an episode in between this one and Epi3, featuring guest co-host Dana Carvey, I felt we couldn't have another edition of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, without getting funny comedian, show producer and longtime friend Mark Pitta into the studio. Part of the reason is that he's a fledgling podcaster just like me and he's also damned funny. The other reason part was because Dana and I had a bit of fun at his expense during the show and it only seemed right to have him to show there were no hard feelings and so everyone would know that the hazing was just a goof. Mea culpa accomplished. Mark brought in several clips from podcasts he's heard and likes, so not only did we get a little insight into the man who created and runs the 6+ years-old Mark Pitta & Friends at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, California, but it's fun to see who makes a good solid laughmaker laugh...and why. This epi also marks the debut of a Burst o' Durst — specially-tailored clips featuring the insightful witful musings of top-flight political comedian and friend-of-Succotash Will Durst. Our friend will be supplying the show with his comedic splashdowns for a long time to come. One thing I neglected to do (it seems I'm always forgetting something) was to tag all of the clips with where to go to get some more of the same. Sorry about that, podcasters! You should know by know that most of the p'casts can be had through iTunes, but it's fun to check out the websites of these funny folks, too, in order to find out more about them, when they have live appearances scheduled, and more. Not to worry - I've included those sites in this blog piece. Just click on the show titles below to be whisked there in an instant! Here's what's cooking on Succotash this time around... • After Hours with Mark Pitta Mark chats with comedy legend Mort Sahl. • The David Feldman Comedy Podcast David Mamet discovers he's a Conservative...and is rewriting accordingly. • Will Durst on Medicare & Weinergate • Jay & Silent Bob Get Old Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes on hearing that Osama Bin Laden was killed. • The Joe Rogan Experience (3:37) Joe and guest Al Madrigal talk about dealing with an audience that more tuned into technology than the show. • This Week with Larry Miller Larry talks about how little he knew about sex and women. • FitzDog Radio with Greg Fitzsimmons Greg plays a game called Talk Your Way Out of It with his staff. • Comedy Bang Bang Scott Aukerman's guest, John Mulaney, is a writer for SNL. He talks about the Stephan character and Law & Order. For those listeners who may be fans of our regular sponsor, Henderson's Pants, we have a new spot in this epi featuring, for the first time, the Henderson's Pants Sketch Players. And thanks to our musical director Scott Carvey for supplying some spiffy new "incidental music" which you can hear behind our chatter during this edition of Succotash. (And I promise that, next time, we're going to feature an actual song from Mr. Carvey's repertoire!) Joe Paulino and his Studio P ("The Home of The Hit!") deserves recognition for, once again, making the show sound so very pro and bringing it in at exactly one hour. To the second. Kudos! We're going to start dipping into the ol' emailbag next epi, so if you've got comments or suggestions for podcasts we should give a listen to, send 'em along to marc@SuccotashShow.com. And if you're a potential sponsor looking for a smart new way to catch the attention of today's idea demographic, we'd be happy to talk to you about throwing a few nickels our way. Drop us a line and let's make something happen! We'll probably get a "Donate" button up on the site soon, for any nice listeners who want to help us keep this train rolling. But, even if you don't spend a dime for all of our hard-spent time, please jump up to iTunes and give us a rating. Maybe even shave off a friendly comment like kindly listener Ed Wallick did (Thanks, Ed!) That's about it. Don't forget to pass the Succotash! Cheers, Marc

After teasing you for weeks and posting a couple of test shows to get an idea what Succotash might sound like, the premiere of the Comedy Podcast Podcast is here! We're giving you a myriad of ways to listen: the title of this blog piece will take you to the Internet Archive site where the show is currently housed. At the bottom of this blog piece is an embedded player. AND we should be available for download from iTunes very soon! (We're trying to set that up AS this is being typed into the blog...watch this space for confirmation that iTunes has given us the thumbs up!) As it turns out, screening a bunch of comedy podcasts every week to find 3 to 5 minutes of funny stuff from each one is pretty time-consuming. And then having to engineer the variety of sound qualities possessed by the lot of them takes even more time. So, although we were hoping to be able to bring Succotash to you once a week, at the beginning it may run a little bit slower than that — even as much as a month. At least for the "Big Show", with 8 to 10 different show snippets. working more on the fly, with a laptop and a microphone, we may be able to bring you some shorter tastes. And maybe even some guest interviews! (We already have interest from friends like Rick Overton, Mark Pitta and Dana Carvey to jump in here and have some fun.) On this show, the Succotash premiere, you'll be hearing from: • The Adam Carolla Show with guest Greg Fitzsimmons • Comedy Death Ray Radio with Scott Aukerman and guest Patton Oswalt • After Hours with Mark Pitta and guest Carol Doda • Mike And Tom Eat Snacks with Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanagh • Pop My Culture with Cole Stratton and Vanessa Ragland • The Smartest Man in the World with Greg Proops • Walking The Room with Greg Berendt and Dave Anthony • WTF with Marc Maron Hosted by Marc Hershon, Succotash is produced and engineered by Joe Paulino, with original Succotash theme by Scott Carvey. If you want to contact us, you can email us at marc@SuccotashShow.com. Please "Like" us on our Succotash Show page on Facebook and follow our tweets @SuccotashShow. Feel free to leave comments in the area provided for it immediately following this blog post. Pass the Succotash! Marc Hershon Ooops! Forgot to include one last mention - a snippet that went astray but is definitely in the show! Thanks to Secret Service Agent Hijaz for pointing out that I forgot to include in the above rundown... • Never Not Funny with Jimmy Pard

Took a little while longer than I thought to get Succotash Test Show #2 online. (UPDATE: This episode is now available for download via iTunes!) Mostly because I'm also trying to get my taxes done. I wanted to see if I could get my workflow down a little better with this second test — selecting the clips, recording my wraparounds and commercials, and mixing it together. Mission accomplished! I came up short on time — this test only runs about 46 minutes — as I'll be shooting for an hour when Succotash goes live, but I had selected a couple of clips which then failed to play properly when I was assembling the show. Decided to go without this time, and you'll never know who got left out this time around.Who IS on the show this time? Glad you asked. I repeated a couple of clips from the first test — they're funny and/or interesting and this is still just a test — so you can enjoy After Hours with Mark Pitta hosting guest Dana Carvey as well as Nerdist's Chris Hardwick with John Oliver again. In addition, this version of Succotash also has David Feldman's Comedy Podcast, the Kevin Pollak Chat Show with guest Fred Savage, Adam Carolla with Ilieana Douglas, The Jimmy Dore Show, and FitzDog Radio with Greg Fitzsimmons and guest Dave Koechner. This edition of Succotash is sponsored by Sugarhill Foods, so there are a couple of phony boloney commercials. (Hey! Phony Boloney! That should be another fine product from Sugarhill Foods...)On other fronts, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new Succotash theme from Scott Carvey. And it looks like my friend Joe Paulino is interested in stepping up as the Executive Producer of this show. He's got a kickass studio here in town and has some great ideas how to tweak not just the sound of the show but also some of the features you'll be hearing once we go live. That's about it. As before, love to hear YOUR comments and feedback on the test shows. The more I can course corect now, the less there will need to be later. Please email me at marc@SuccotashShow.com.
