They discuss how front desk staff are more than just taskmasters—they are the directors of first impressions, crucial to patient retention, satisfaction, and overall clinic success. Hunter shares actionable insights on how to empower front desk teams, improve patient experiences, and leverage tools like NPS (Net Promoter Score) to track and enhance clinic performance.  Key takeaways from this episode include:  1. The Power of the Front Desk: Front desk teams are the backbone of patient experience and retention. They are the first and last point of contact, making their role critical to the success of any clinic.  2. SANGUINE DEPOSIT, 15min., USA Directed by Robert Del Campo Mac is a violent, train hopping, drifter who has found himself wandering from small town to small town during the Great Depression. He is a sadist with no compunction about using robbery, or even murder, to survive. Although he seems happy-go-lucky, he can become annoyed or angered easily. To Mac, the world, and everything in it, are up for grabs to someone who is not afraid to use violence as a tool. https://www.instagram.com/sanguine_deposit/ Get to know writer, executive producer, and lead actor (Mac), Dr. Greg McWhorter. What motivated you to make this film? Without getting into too much detail, I basically saw that I had an opportunity to work with a director to create my vision of a black-and-white, silent, horror, film, and I approached him with it and luckily, he agreed to work with me on it. I always wanted to make a silent horror film that would've been like the first slasher film ever made but also like a lost film from the 30s that we're just discovering nowadays. And I wanted it to be violent, but also fitting with the times and I knew I had the chance to use a lot of great sets and I have an eye for buying the right pieces for the costumes and props. Basically this was in my head for years and I saw the opportunity to work with the right director to get this done. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video? I was actually pleasantly impressed and excited by how much they seem to like the story and the acting, which was my doing. But I'm glad they also talked a lot about the cinematography which was my director's doing. We made a good team and this film never would've been made if it wasn't for both of us bringing our talents to it. I am always thrilled to learn when an audience likes our film as that is what it's made for… Entertainment! In Episode 74, Kathryn and Theresa talk to Berry McWhorter about how his deep dive into Japanese music education transformed his approach to teaching. After discovering the impressive performance of Japanese middle school bands during his studies, Berry embarked on a journey to understand the unique student-led structure of Japanese music programs. He found that these programs place significant responsibility on students to lead rehearsals, manage performances, and even handle administrative tasks, all with minimal direct supervision from teachers. Inspired by this model, Berry applied similar strategies in his own high school band teaching. He encouraged student leadership by implementing student-led sectionals and allowing students to choose and conduct their concert pieces. This shift toward student ownership, influenced by the Japanese approach, created a more engaged and motivated classroom environment. Berry emphasizes that this method not only improves students' musical abilities but also instills valuable life skills such as independence, responsibility, and collaboration.  Connect with Berry and learn more: Instagram: @berry_mcwhorter_drums Bravo Music: https://bravomusic-inc.com/ Learn more about Pass the Baton: Pass the Baton website: https://www.passthebatonbook.com/ Join the Coffee Club: https://buymeacoffee.com/passthebaton/membership Support Pass the Baton: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/passthebaton Amplify student voice with Exit Tickets for Self Reflection! April 7, Palm Sunday, police used dogs to attack Black people at a march. the dramatic photos appeared on front pages around the world. Then, 4 Black girls were killed at a church bombing, and then Congress passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Diane McWhorter wrote the definitive history of that crucial campaign--her book is called “Carry Me Home: Birmingham, Alabama, the climatic battle of the civil rights revolution." The Parent/Teacher Conference

The day before St. Patrick's Day, I taught a lesson about Irish discrimination in the U.S. Students had never learned that before. Is it because some in our culture have widened the net of what is racism. And widening the net of these definitions places people who do not agree with these expansive new definitions as unjustly complicit and guilty of those terms.  Coach denounces all forms of racism and shares why he has personal "skin in the game", reviews the changes in American culture, first looking at the changes when people of different ethnic backgrounds marry each other to the future as more people of different racial backgrounds will be getting married as well (including Coach's own daughters) only to further strengthen the continued use of the word "colorblind", and offering black voices (Sowell, McWhorter, Steele) that are just as concerned of these progressive ideas that seek division by their labeling others rather than finding common ground on what unifies us as American --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ptcpodcast/message

Jen is joined by Pulitzer Prize winning author Diane McWhorter to discuss the civil rights movement in the South that arose to defeat the fascistic alliance between industrialists, the wealthy, and their enforcers in the Klan.  They lay out how Black activists, labor unions, and their allies put aside their differences to overcome them and make civil rights a national issue.  During the conversation, they look at the internal dynamics of the civil rights movement, the role of Martin Luther King Jr., and the nefarious actions of government, Bull Connor, and law enforcement.  Perhaps most importantly, what will it take to honor and advance the legacy of those who fought so hard for freedom and equality? Today's episode is borrowed from the feed of the great podcast The Fifth Column. Usually hosted by Kmele Foster, Michael Moynihan, and Matt Welch, this episode, which aired in July of 2022, features Kmele and two guests who have become elder statesmen around the persistent issue of race in America: John McWhorter and Glenn Loury.  Over the past few years McWhorter, Loury and Foster each have written, discussed and lectured exhaustively on anti-racism, the role race plays in America, and the changing meaning of the word “racism” itself. In this episode, they talk about the inadequacies of regarding people solely by their racial category, the dignity of the individual and what a future might look like if we were to abolish race all together. While all three men bring a contrarian streak to this discussion, you'll find that they have disagreements when it comes to questions of race abolition and the so-called “Racial Reckoning” of 2020.  Loury is an economist and professor of social science at Brown University. You can listen to his interview with Bari here. McWhorter is the author of numerous books, including Talking Black and Woke Racism. He's also professor of Linguistics, Philosophy and Music at Columbia University, and a columnist at The New York Times. Since 2015 Kmele Foster has been a prominent voice in a number of discussions about race in America, including his reporting challenging the mainstream media's verdict on Amy Cooper, better known as the Central Park Karen.
