collect call from a dead lion, will you accept the charges? the charges are nuclear apocalypse btw If your child ever says to you: “Mommy/Daddy, what's a cult movie?” you can pop out a Blu-ray of Miracle Mile. Like so many other movies we've talked about on Destroy All Culture, Miracle Mile largely takes place over the course of a single night, as Harry Washello (Anthony Edwards) attempts to flee the city with the girl of his dreams, Julie Peters (Mare Winningham). Why are they trying to get out? That's both a spoiler and a twist that turns Miracle Mile from a meet-cute LA rom-com into a dread-soaked nightmare. Or it may just be a misguided tourism video for the La Brea Tar Pits. Who knows? Listen below or do the Apple Podcasts thing you do so well.

It never ends. So here is your challenge this week:- Turn what is normally irritating into a bonding experience- Turn that which normally separates you into that which brings you closer. In the podcast, we used the example of the dawdling daughter who tries on several pairs of PJs at night before getting into bed. It could be the way your teenager procrastinates. Or the way your child reacts to your instructions. The same principles apply. Now I know what we all want: your kids get their bath/shower, brush their teeth, and go potty promptly, then lie in bed waiting for you to read to them (or go to bed before midnight without screens if a teen!). Then they say, “Mommy/Daddy, thank you for reading to us calmly before bed. It makes us feel safe and we sleep so well.”But that NEVER happens. Instead, your kids find 18 ways to procrastinate and delay this process when you are most tired and just want some peace. So your tone quickly gets very short and clipped with them. “Honey, honey, just put your PJs on and get in bed. Now.” You're not yelling…yet. But your anxious, irritated, impatient tone is enough to create a wonderfully negative feedback loop….that ultimately ends in more resistance, yelling, idle threats, and tears. You are perfectly justified in being angry and frustrated and giving consequences. But that doesn't mean it's helpful or effective! And now you and your child go to bed separated emotionally, with hurt feelings, with conflict between spouses (one's too soft, the other too hard on the kids). And this becomes a recurring pattern you dread every night. So try this instead:(1) Anticipate this. This is the nightly dance (for now). Stop wishing for what isn't and deal with the situation you've been given. So begin the bedtime routine a little earlier to build in some cushion. And reset your expectations.(2) Stop fighting it, slow down, and lean into it. When you are hellbent on completing your agenda, ticking off the boxes, that's when your kids resist most! Maybe you say, "That's a good idea, Lucie. Could you come help ME pick out something more comfortable to put on?” Kids LOVE helping or showing adults things. Maybe she gets dressed in your room. Sometimes mixing it up works.(3) Be curious. Ask her, "I'm curious why you like those PJs. Are they softer? Do you sleep better in those?" Acknowledging rather than fighting and pushing often works better. This week, choose one situation that usually irritates you. Be patient, be creative, and I bet you can turn that into a bonding routine. Take what usually separates you and let it bring you closer to your child. The goal isn't to get your kids to behave. It's to build a relationship so they follow you out of a deep sense of respect and trust. Isn't that what you really want? The quickest way to change your child's behavior is to first control your own. Lead your child to a calm place and model how to handle your own frustration. You're teaching your child life-long skills now.
Welcome to the inaugural episode of Automation Explanation, an Agile Thought Podcast, where you will learn about quality through automated testing and its place in modern software development. This week, your hosts, Antwan Maddox and Greg Burdick are starting this series of shows to discuss some of the challenges and areas of improvement related to quality engineering. Today, they are diving deep into the history and role of Quality Engineers, their place in Development Teams, and how they fit into Agile. Key Takeaways A brief history of test automation. Test automation has existed for more than two decades. At the beginning of automation, users reached a point where the time to do automation outweighed the benefits. There were also some environmental issues, where some development environments were incompatible when running Scripts. The next generation of automation tools replaced the previous generation. What is a quality engineer? What are their responsibilities? The acceptance of Agile methodology has played a role in changing the role of a tester. A Quality Engineer is someone with a strong foundation in manual testing and test framework development Are clients looking for quality engineers? There is a big need for Quality Engineers currently in the market even though there is always going to be a need for a manual tester. Modern DevOps plays a big factor, emphasizing continuous innovation and delivery, leading to more frequent integration of code and deployments to the production environment. What should a Quality Engineer focus on learning more about DevOps or Agile? First, a Quality Engineer has to learn a programming language. Second, he needs to learn how to automate the front end. Third, a Quality Engineer needs to have more intimate knowledge of the back end. Stage four is about DevOps automation, and every Quality Engineer should know about it. How do Quality Engineers fit in Agile? Quality Engineers fit into the Development Team very intimately and they are part of the cycle from the beginning to the end. Quality engineers are key to creating testable and automatable software. They need to know about the application roadmap. Quality engineers have to be included in the software development process. Everyone should be involved in automation. The organization needs to be ready for automation. To deliver an application is not just delivering a bunch of features, it is also delivering a testable and automatable code, quality is a must when delivering software. What is Quality Engineering about? Quality Engineering is not about velocity or defects, it is about how software is put together and organized for the development effort. A Quality engineer assures that there will be a low stress and anxiety deployment. A Quality Engineer is constantly growing and learning. Quality engineers should be hired in pairs. EPISODE FUCKING 50!!! We made it WE did it!! HUGE milestone for myself and The Slob on The Pod podcast! Thank you all for getting this far in my podcast/journey! Why I am the way I am. Why I strongly despise playing monody. How my mom deals with my dad. What makes a long lasting relationship. How the way my parents raised me lead to become the person I am today. The time someone broke into our car and my dad beat the shit out of him in shorts and just a TV controller. If they could give each other an HYPOTHETICAL hall pass who would it be. And so much more!!! Thank you for watching/listening! I love you, I love my parents! CHEERS to many more!!!
So many things happened this week. I had a crazy realization about my mommy and daddy issues that I did not know was self sabotaging me. I had an anniversary. I did a cooking class. I figured out how to share boundaries and have tough conversations with people close to me.

We then read the social media hot takes, by baseball fans. We laugh, we cry and then feel odd that these people are posting about baseball. We finish up chapter 2 from 'The Last Boy" Mickey Mantle. Any dad has heard one or all of their kids tell them, “that’s not how mommy does it” at least once, but probably multiple times a week. But it is not just the dad’s who come under the firing line, earlier this year we had Noxolo Grootboom on the show and she shared this story about how her husband always had to take care of the children while she was at work, and the one day she cooked pap for the children See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
When the new “girlfriend” of your ex comes in like a wrecking ball and changes everything about your co-parenting with her influence and boundaries, how should you handle it? How to deal when your kids are all over her social media and you’ve never even met her yet?! How to process your ex forging a relationship with your estranged father between him and your children? When you hear from your kids they have been seeing “grandpa” at Dad’s and you haven’t had any relationship with him for YEARS! How to deal with “Mommy/Daddy” said type of stuff with the kids? When your step kids are coming home from their other house and it’s always what “Mommy said or Mommy says”; do you correct incorrect information?, do you ban it?, do you ignore it?, do you set boundaries? If it’s happening in one home, you know it’s also happening in the other home with “Daddy says”. How might you address this if you don’t want to hear it, but also don’t want the kids making up stuff about your home to their other parent? Marriage and the name change; do it or not? Use your maiden name as part of the last name for the sake of the kids? Does changing your name make you feel separated even further from you children? Is it offensive to want to keep your shared name with your children? What issues may arise when you make the decision to have a different last name than your children?

Instead of them going into the foster care system, she is trying to adopt them alone. They are ages: 12, 10, 8.5, & 5 and altogether, they live in a two bedroom apartment. Tina is 58 years old and works outside for a living locating electric and gas lines which is extremely hard work, especially in this weather! Despite the situation she is in, she never complains and she knows she is blessed because they are all together. In their house, she is teaching them about the Lord and the kids are just soaking it up! The kids are praying for their Mommy & Daddy to get better and despite the decisions that they have made, Tina continues to be a wonderful mother to these kids as she never puts their parents down. Being a fantastic role model for these 4 girls and raising them the best that she can, on what she can, I really would love to see her Monday get made! Of course, as you know, school has started back up and the shopping process has been hard because she has no means to get them all the items they need. That's why we here at KCBI decided to Make her Monday to see how we could help!
In this episode I sat down with a fellow Baby Momma Tahrita to discuss Mommy and Daddy issues. We dig into our own past to pin point the causes of our own issues and how to recognize and address them so that we don't pass those same issues to our children.
This episode talks about the transition of becoming an adult and having to be in charge of your health. Understanding that Mommy & Daddy will no longer be making those doctor's appointments for you, and oh yeah you better get you some health insurance while your at it. I also talk about how often you should go to the doctor, and some of my crazy experiences with this new life change.Follow me on Instagram @_brittstagramFollow Me on Twitter @brittsayssSubscribe to my Youtube channel: Brittsays

As the Bachelor season finale comes to an end next week, Shev and Schab revisit this past season and make their predictions for the semi finale and finale. Schab is a more experienced bachelor fanatic than Shev and has many strong opinions about the Gerber baby Colton Underwood. Shev and Schab analyze the first official full video of the fence jump and see if there are any spoilers. This could be a busy episode for Colton, he WILL jump the fence and he MAY lose his “virginity” in the fantasy suites.

Buckle up, Neighbors! We've got a lot of biz to take care. Margo shares stories of hallway creepery; Erin relates a night well spent at Joe's Pub; we also breakdown our beloved Real Housewives, Below Deck, 90 Day Fiancee; and welcome Lock After Lockup to our TV garbage fire. We also have a fun book rec, as well as 2 podcast recs, and Erin talks the first 2 eps of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Why are we in Paris?!) and the problem she has with "Mommy & Daddy" people; & Margo tells why you don't want Kevin Costner to eulogize you at your funeral. Sounds like a bummer but it's not-I swear!

Surrender your sweet, gentle earbuds to the surprisingly bitting, yet disarmingly sweet, Rachele Friedland! This week's episode is a very intimate slumber-party-like conversation, just L.A. comedian Rachele & Haley in her L.A. apartment (since Mommy (Haley) & Daddy (Christie) can't see each other as much as they'd like due to their work schedules). Don't worry, Mommy & Daddy aren't getting a divorce. Rachele & Haley discuss divorce, expectations within relationships, when to say "I LOVE YOU AHHH I'M SORRY", and how to tell when you're being a BITCH or not -- it's a giggly good time (obviously channeling Christie's spirit energy). Enjoy the soothing sounds of the hilarious & charming, Rachele Friedland and follow her on Twitter at @Rachele_F and on instagram at @rachelefriedland WE LOVE TO LOVE LOVE!
