Today on the Fusionary Health Podcast, we're diving deep into the story behind why I embarked on this health journey, with a very special guest—my little sister. Our conversation sheds light on the origins of my passion for health and wellness, rooted deeply in our family's history and my personal health challenges. My journey into health was sparked by my own struggles with sickness and the desire to overcome them. I've experienced everything from molloscum contagiosum to constant motion sickness, leading me to adopt a full-time approach to health. This pursuit was encapsulated by the philosophy "Your Mess is your Message," leading to the establishment of my company focused on inflammation reduction and tailored health strategies. Our family's history with diabetes, deeply influenced by our Indian diet, has been a significant part of my health journey. I've worked diligently to reverse these conditions, not just for myself but for my family, especially our mom who has faced her own health battles. These experiences drove me to explore extreme detox methods, both for myself and my family, as we sought to regain control over our health. The foundation of my sister's educational and professional journey was laid at Rice University and UPenn, where she pursued a Master's in Educational Entrepreneurship. My sister, Neha Gupta, founder of CollegeShortcuts.com, and I inherited our thirst for knowledge and innovation from our parents, who embarked on their own entrepreneurial journey from India to the United States. Their success in establishing a thriving electronics business from humble beginnings instilled in us the values of hard work, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. embarked on entrepreneurial ventures, starting with my engagement in social entrepreneurship at Babson. This experience, coupled with an inspiring internship at Canyon Ranch alongside Dr. Mark Hyman, catalyzed my ambition to create a health-centered company. Our collaborative venture together, Sama Baby Organics, embodied our commitment to ethical practices and quality, reflecting my detail-oriented nature and Neha's pragmatic approach to getting things done. We dive into why I'm the best person to formulate a product that you ingest. Now, as a PhD focused on the science of turmeric and the founder of Fusionary Formulas, I've settled into my dharma. I'm dedicated to creating profound health shifts through Ayurveda, sharing my knowledge at medical conferences, and helping individuals achieve vibrant health through lifestyle shifts. My commitment to walking my talk and pushing the boundaries of health is unwavering, driven by the belief that good health is priceless and must be actively worked for. In this episode, we illuminate the deep-rooted reasons behind my health-focused endeavors, from my family's entrepreneurial spirit to my personal health challenges and the transformative power of Ayurveda. Join us as we explore these stories, highlighting the importance of consistency, routines, and the holistic alignment of body, mind, and spirit in building vibrant health. #FusionaryHealthJourney #HolisticWellnessTransformations #AyurvedaForVibrantLiving #EntrepreneurialSpiritHealth #InflammationReductionStrategies #OvercomingHealthChallenges #FamilyLegacyOfWellness #DetoxAndRevitalize #HealthInnovationThroughAyurveda #PersonalJourneyToWellness

In this episode, Neha Gupta introduces us to the art form known as mandala, which has deep roots in the meditative and spiritual practices of Buddhism. Mandala art involves creating intricate designs as a form of prayer and devotion to deities. The repetitive nature of creating mandalas has a calming effect on the mind, similar to the sensation of holding an ice cube. Initially, it may feel uncomfortable, but with time, it brings a sense of peace and tranquility. The episode explores the spiritual and meditative aspects of mandala art, as well as the scientific reasons behind its therapeutic benefits. For episode 48 of 17 Minutes of Science we talked with Neha Gupta about her science research in addition to how she is lifting and inspiring other girls to pursue STEM. Since she was 12 years old, Neha Gupta has been competing in science fairs and exploring STEM topics related to biology and health sciences. Since 2017, her participation in the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair has led her to compete in national (Canada-Wide Science Fair) and international level fairs (International Science and Engineering Fair). Her current research uses C. elegans to test for toxicity, and required her to develop a method of quantitatively modeling C. elegans behavior - something that had never been done before. While participating in these science fairs is fun and inspiring, Neha noticed a theme among her fellow female science fair participants - there were not enough of them, and they all had stories about how if it had been just a bit different, they probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to pursue STEM. Because of these conversations, Neha actively seeks to encourage young girls to participate in science fairs and STEM fields, as science is not a subject restricted to one population of people. This has inspired her to found STEMpowerment, a nonprofit run through Twitter aimed at creating more visibility around women and girls in STEM to empower youth to make strides in scientific fields and Dimensions Magazine, a science-based student-run magazine aimed to engage high school and undergrad students in science by publishing student-written articles. Neha also runs a blog where you can check out her most recent updates. Tune in to learn more about Neha's research and her drive to make STEM more accessible.

On today’s episode of the Innovation in Compliance Podcast with host Tom Fox, we get to meet Neha Gupta, chief executive officer at True Office Learning who shares the importance of effective training within an organization. Tom first met Neha at a presentation where she was speaking on innovative compliance techniques for training and what he got was a much broader appreciation of behavioral science around compliance programs. From Business to ComplianceTom asks Neha how she worked her way up to the CEO chair. Neha explains how life is 50% serendipity and 50% plans that never quite turn out that way. She started her career in business, thinking of herself to be « not a lawyer by trade, a data science geek and engineer. For her, ethics and compliance are meaningful because she finds it amazing how infrequently business conversations are included in compliance. At Citygroup, she was in charge of their institutional technology and responsible for ethics and compliance along with employee engagement functions that she reported to the board. When she started work at True Office, she realized that it was possible to have a two-way-dialogue with people using technology and even predict how they will think and behave in certain situations. She took over the organization two years ago. Mapping Human Behavior Tom asks Neha how a training company is uniquely suited to map behavior, and why it can be a powerful tool that will allow an ethical organization to remain dedicated to integrity. Neha says our behavior is driven by the things we learn along the way. She adds that the reason why training is effective for mapping human behavior is that there are very few things in your organization that touch people at every level. It is a unique opportunity to have a captive audience, once a year where everybody interacts, but so many organizations approach training in an “empty-handed-one-way-I’m-just-gonna-push-out-information” manner instead of taking time to know how different teams within the organization would handle different situations. She says the best way to run a training is to use a simulation technique, to see how each person would act in different crisis situations. Utilizing Data Generated Through TrainingNeha believes you have to have both the training experience (regular HR training) and the data training (artificial intelligence used after training) as a continuous cycle in your workplace, because humans often forget what they have learned, but with technology, one can easily be sent reminders or nudges about said training. That is when the power of technology comes in, by using artificial intelligence to find each employee’s weakness and send them nudges about actions to take to strengthen those weaknesses. She calls this ´Adaptive Compliance Training’, which you can learn more about here. Tom has seen many examples of what Neha has shared, and believes that many of the strategies she talks about should be implemented by all HR departments to strengthen their training. You may have noticed that the college admission process has been in the news lately. Well, what you may not know, is there is a Founder & CEO named Neha Gupta that is leading the charge to ethically and responsibly helps students and their parents with this stressful process. In this candid interview, Neha shares her thoughts on the industry and what happened to her on the road from Founder to CEO.
The scandal around college admissions has received major attention recently. But the overwhelming majority of families eventually find themselves needing to help their child navigate the college application process, which looks very different than it did when we as unmillennials applied so many years ago. Experts say college admissions prep needs to begin long before the actual applications are due and likely involves taking stock of what the child is doing -- both in the classroom and out -- as early as middle school. In this episode, College Shortcuts founder and author, Neha Gupta, walks through the considerations that families -- even those with younger children -- need to consider now in readying themselves and their children for the college application process. In the show, we discuss: overall how the college admissions process differs today from year's past why grades get a child "in the door" for admissions consideration, but may no longer be enough when parents should start helping their children prep for their college admissions process what parents can do to help their kids build a compelling resume why it's important for children to pursue specific activities that are of interest to them, not necessarily "all" the activities how helping your child explore their interests imparts the type of resiliency and resourcefulness college admissions departments are looking for We also discuss the services that Neha offers through her organization -- College Shortcuts, including their monthly mentorship program that pairs students with an Ivy League graduate to help them both stand-out in the college admissions process and excite them about their future college life. I close out the show in the Odds & Ends ending with a detailed discussion about my recent quest for a high-fiber protein powder and why I developed the recipe I shared here on the blog in this recent post -- How I created My Own High-Fiber Protein Powder -- based on having tried the F-Factor 20/20 Protein Powder. I clarify how the fiber that I use in my protein powder -- hydrolyzed guar gum -- is not the same as guar gum and discourage listeners from using the two interchangeably. Smart Social Podcast: Learn how to shine online with Josh Ochs
Click Here to Hire Josh Ochs to speak at your organization. Do you have children that are in middle school or in high school? What preparations are you doing for their college application? Today's topic will help you discover the five biggest misconceptions and/or mistakes that parents make when they are helping their kids apply to college. Guest info: Neha Gupta, Founder & CEO of College Shortcuts Key Takeaways: Proximity is Power Starting early is the best way when it comes to the college admissions process One of the biggest parts of creating a unique angle is looking at the child from a third-party perspective Step One: Starting Early The problem is we're all starting too late in the process. The best time would be starting in eighth grade before they even touch foot in a high school. For example, if you want to buy a house, you wouldn't buy a house tomorrow. It's something you decide, you look at and you make decisions on. It takes time to make sure all your ducks in a row. The same investment can be made even in your child's education. Starting early is the best way when it comes to the college admissions process. Step Two: Building out the portfolio It's about thinking strategically to build a portfolio and help them to build their resume. One of the biggest mistakes we see over and over is people try to stuff the resume. It's not about stuffing the resume with a lot of activities. It's about finding a few things that they're actually passionate about and going deep into those things. Step Three: Take time to create that angle that makes us unique What is going to be your unique angle that helps you to get in or makes you different than the other student? This is where parents fumble because they think that what they're getting their kids into makes them unique. One of the biggest parts of creating a unique angle is looking at the child from a third-party perspective. It creates a unique edge to the person that they are not all one thing. They've got different aspects to them and it has to be highlighted in a very certain way in the application. Step Four: Solid Grades and Test Scores You've got to have solid grades and solid test scores if you're choosing to go to these types of universities. You have to be ready to have a solid work ethic and motivation. The only way to show that is through your grades and test scores in high school. That's the biggest problem we're seeing "Let me get my kid in." That's not it, "How do we get our kids to stay in?" Step Five: Get Outside Help Why do people work with people like us? It's our energy. That's what people buy. They love the fact that we're a mentor. Kids listen to us. It is really important to get an outside consultant.
