In my latest Broncos podcast presented by Hoggatt Injury Law, I discuss how the Broncos pulled the lever on a quarterback. No Whammies! No Whammies! Broncos coach Sean Payton fell in love with Bo Nix and the Broncos have their next quarterback. Why is he such a good fit? We hear from Payton and general manager George Paton. My pod is made possible by the great folks at Mile High Sports and RBJ Glass.
We have officially entered 'silly season' of NFL Draft week where rumors are rampant and everything must be taken with a grain of salt. Fear not, Matt Harmon and Fantasy Pro's Thor Nystrom are here to cut through the smoke. Concluding our 'teams that will shape the Draft' series, the two look at the QB needy teams outside the top ten - Minnesota, Denver, Las Vegas - as well as teams inside the top ten that could be wild cards - New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and New York Jets.To start the show, Harmon and Nystrom dive into the Minnesota Vikings and what possibilities exist for them to jump in the draft to take JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye. The duo looks at how the top QBs could fit in Kevin O'Connell's offense and Justin Jefferson. The two then try to make sense of the Denver Broncos after they acquired Zach Wilson from the New York Jets in a trade. Given that Denver might have the worst QB room in the league, the duo try to figure out which rookie QB is the most realistic option and best fit for Sean Payton's scheme. The two discuss Bo Nix's potential in Denver and if they can trade down and still acquire the Oregon QB later in the draft.Harmon and Nystrom have a similar conversation about the Las Vegas Raiders QB room and if they could be a dark horse team to trade up for QB. After the break the two try to predict what the New York Giants, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans do with their top ten picks.1:20 - Programming note: Yahoo Sports is going BIG for Draft Week coverage 3:40 - Minnesota Vikings: Do they have the ammunition to land JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye?22:25 - Denver Broncos: What are they doing? Who are they? Are they really that bad?35:50 - Las Vegas Raiders: Are they a dark horse to trade up for a QB? 39:15 - New York Giants: Do they take a top WR or swing for a QB? 46:30 - New York Jets: Rome Odunze, Brock Bowers or OL?50:27 - Tennessee Titans: What's the best move to help Will Levis in this new look offense?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Welcome to the latest episode of The Real Forno Show - SKOL Search edition, with Tyler Forness, your go-to hub for all things NFL! In this episode, we're delving into the heart of the NFL Draft prospects, particularly from the lens of the Minnesota Vikings. As we embark on our SKOL Search series, we aim to bring you a comprehensive guide to the 2024 draft class. Our goal is to provide you with detailed scouting reports, mock drafts, and a thorough exploration of various potential scenarios. The star under our microscope in this episode is the exceptional quarterback Bo Nix, who hails from Oregon. Nix, a fifth-year senior, is a 4-Star recruit who transferred from Auburn. He boasts an impressive track record, having started 61 games after the Pac-12 title game, which is an NCAA record. We've watched his performances in games against Texas Tech, Washington, and USC in 2023, and we're excited to share our insights. In our in-depth analysis, we bring you a balanced perspective on Nix, discussing not only his strengths but also his areas of improvement. We delve into his strong points such as his accuracy, which is mostly positive with a completion rate of 77.1%. We also talk about his dual-threat ability, which makes him an elusive and dynamic weapon on the ground. His sack record is commendable as well, having taken only six sacks in 2023. However, we also take a critical look at areas where Nix could do better. We discuss how the Ducks' offense system often masks the deficiencies of the quarterback and how Nix sometimes struggles with progressions and making consistent decisions. We also touch upon his footwork and arm strength, which, while adequate, could be improved upon. We wrap up with an overview, rating Nix on various aspects such as arm strength, accuracy, mechanics, decision making, and more. Nix's overall grade stands at 74.9/100, placing him as a potential Fourth Round pick. Despite these areas for improvement, we see immense potential in Nix. His talent is undeniable, and with 61 starts under his belt, there's a world where Nix could improve enough to be a starting quarterback in the National Football League. So, join us on this journey as we uncover the future of the NFL, one player at a time. Whether you're a fan of the Vikings or just a football enthusiast, this episode promises to be a fascinating deep dive into the world of the NFL Draft prospects. FAN WITH US!!! Fired up to close out another week with robust sports chatter and passion as the latest edition has arrived. On deck: (3:09) It was a rather quiet MLB Winter Meetings period down in Nashville this week, until last night when a major deal took place as the Yankees acquired Juan Soto from San Diego for prospects. Does this make the Bronx Bombers World Series contenders? Is there more work to be done if you're GM Brian Cashman? Then there's quite a bit surrounding the biggest free agent in the sport, Shohei Ohtani. Has he hijacked and suffocated free agency from his counterparts? And how his silence is affecting him in negotiating with other teams? I'll have all of the up to the minute deals to this point as I continue to monitor where Ohtani and the like (i.e. Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger, Matt Chapman, etc.) may be headed. (20:45) The NFL has another ordinary week on the schedule, but there is one heavyweight matchup that's ultra important to the NFC playoff picture. Philadelphia is at Dallas on Sunday night. Why this game is imperative for the Eagles, more so than the Cowboys? And what effect this'll have if Philly loses? I'll break down some of the other games that have postseason implications as we inch closer to the final stretch of the regular season. As an addendum, what is Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis doing by wanting to sue the committee for snubbing Florida State out of the college football playoffs? Really?! (32:40) Hoops fans, the NBA Cup semifinals begins tonight, with the championship on Saturday night. Indiana will face Milwaukee in the first game, followed by New Orleans-LA Lakers. It's easy to point out which matchup the NBA does NOT want to see in the Final. Plus, whatever else is going on throughout the Association as we get past this first ever in-season tournament. (40:50) Former Blackhawks great, Patrick Kane has found a new home in Detroit as he attempts to resurrect his career in Motown. What kind of impact with all of his experience, winning and resume will he have on a young team looking to take a leap in the Eastern Conference? Also, what else is happening in the NHL as teams continue to stay hot or get back on track, almost a third into the season. (49:35) The Heisman Trophy for the best college football player takes place on Saturday. I'll tell you who I think should win as Washington QB, Michael Penix Jr., Oregon QB, Bo Nix, Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU QB Jayden Daniels are the finalists for this years award. Bo Nix made national headlines when he announced his transfer from Auburn, and he's headed to Eugene as the splashiest acquisition the new staff has made on the roster. How should Duck fans react, and what's the current state of the Oregon QB room?Plus, many Oregon fans prefer a "home-grown" quarterback as opposed to one who transfers in...but the reality is it's never that simple. When dealing with college-aged athletes, there's no surefire way to know who's going to be good and who isn't.
