To get a gallon of the freshest olive oil, you could grab your passport, pack a suitcase and fly more than 5,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from the Sunshine State to Tuscany.Or you could drive to Brooksville—as in, Brooksville, Florida. The quiet Hernando County town is prized for its bike trails and camping sites. Brooksville is also home to The Olive Grove—yes, that's the official name. It's a property owned by husband and wife Cambren and Dede Davis. The Zest's host Dalia Colón and brand manager Alexandria Ebron recently visited The Olive Grove for a tour. As you'll discover if you visit, olives are only the beginning. In addition to selling freshly pressed olive oil and other olive products, The Olive Grove is also an event space, concert venue, Airbnb and farm. If you're lucky, you just might get to name one of the resident chickens. The Davises' property is among a growing number of olive groves in the Sunshine State. The August mix in recent years (excluding Covid) has become the Suncebeat mix as it's the first mix after the festival.  This year marked the last time Suncebeat will be held in Croatia, or the Tisno Gardens at least.  It was the fourteenth event which is incredible and shows the quality of the week long soulful house spectacular. It was the quietest in terms of numbers that I've been to and this was my fifth one.  What that meant though was the DJ/Punter ratio was awesome.  Seemed everywhere you looked legends of the scene were connecting with everyone and were really accessible. The highlights for me included meeting Martin Atjazz and Osunlade (both whom had a huge influence on the c2eMusic sound over the years), grabbing a picture with Osunlade, Spen and Rich Medina, catching up with The Journeymen, Joe Cox and Andy Ward and connecting with Danny T.  I was also encouraged to see the youngsters representing, having met the Coughlan Brothers, Ryan and Jay, as well as Noah Herel (yes Ronnie's son) on the Deep Into Soul boat party.I was lucky enough to then catch Noah put down a killer set for Mi-Soul later that night alongside his very proud dad.  The pair smashed it with Noah only having a few months of DJing under his belt!  Kenny Dope smashed it at the Olive Grove for Terry Hunter's Chosen Few night.  It's funny I was always a Louie fan growing up, but more recently Kenny has blown me away everytime I've heard him.  I think it says more about my own personal musical journey moving from the more soulful to a deeper more twisted sound.  Not to be outdone, Spen put on his own night of magic at the Olive Grove with Dawn Tallman and Aaron K providing a performance to remember together at the end of the night.  It was one of those "I was there" moments that you knew was special as it unfolded in front of you.Biggest surprise were Analog Soul out of NY, playing on the Beach Stage on Friday night. I'd never come across them before but there set was amazing.  The flow was great, but their tune selection was second to none, at least for my taste and preference anyway.  They certainly found a new fan right here.Back to the mix and I have to say it doesn't sound like a regular c2eMusic mix.  It's very laid back and chill for the most part.  I was worried it might not have enough energy but I can't sit still listening to it.  It has a very grown up mature feel to it which feels alien to me (I am after all just a big 48 year old man-child in many ways).I initially wasn't going to release this mix, some of the transitions aren't quite what I'd have liked and I couldn't find a track to end on that brings us back down safely!  However, after listening through a couple of times it feels wrong to hold it back when the tunes themselves are cool af. Tracklisting:1: Atjazz - Wutchbender2: Jimpster, Rich Medina - This Thing (Vocal Mix)3: Glass Slipper - Unification Vibration (Atjazz Main Mix)4: Donnie, Kai Alce - Olmec Save Us (Yoruba Soul Mix)5: Kx9000 - Sub Fatima6: Franck Roger - Les Emotions7: AirBorn Gav, Hurricane - Work (Atjazz Extended Mix)8: Dan Tenor-City, Tom Funk, RICOH - Close To The Source (Art of Tones Remix)9: Timothee Milton - I MIss Your Love (Rocco Rodamaal Underground Mix)10: Crackazat - Freddies Groove11: Jon Dixon, Kasan Belgrave - On My Own ft Moodymann12: Tuccillo - The Waves13: Col Lawton - I'm Not Rushing (Original Vocal Mix)14: 2Sleep - I Feel The Same15: Flabaire - The Bee's Boos16: Folkness - Fly High17: Criss Korey - One For Change18: Soledrifter - Love Is Here19: Lalo Leyy - Deeper20: Folkness - Fly High21: Greg Paulus, Terry Bence, Big-exy - Marino22: Clu Polar - Signals (Audiojack Remix)23: Shortcut - Raw Meat24: Kink - Existence25: Mark Henning - TrojanEnjoy!

One of the Observer's 10 must-read debut novelists of 2022. Sayon Hughes, a young Black man from Bristol, dreams of a world far removed from the one in which he was raised. Far removed from the torn slips outside the bookie's, the burnt spoons and the crooked solutions his community embraces; most of all, removed from the Christianity of his uncaring parents and the prejudice of law-makers. Growing up, Sayon found respite from the chaos of his environment in the love and loyalty of his brother-in-arms, Cuba; in the example of his cousin Hakim, a man once known as the most infamous drug-dealer in their neighbourhood, now a proselytising Muslim and in the tenderness of his girl, Shona, whose own sense of purpose galvanises Sayon's. In return, Sayon wants to give the people he loves the world: a house atop a grand hill in the most affluent area of the city, a home in which they can forever find joy and safety. But after an altercation in which a boy is killed, Sayon finds his loyalties torn and his dream of a better life in peril.

Tony Jones is best known as the host of ABC TV’s tightly controlled, agenda-setting and sometimes combative political panel programme, Q&A. Having presented the programme for almost ten years, Jones has learned a few things about tension, intrigue, complex plots and surprise attacks. Those years of experience – not to mention the preceding decades as an ABC investigative reporter and foreign correspondent – have prepared Jones perfectly for his latest incarnation as a thriller writer. His debut novel, The Twentieth Man, tells an electrifying tale of crime, terror and international conspiracy and is set between the corridors of power in 1970s Canberra and the harsh mountain ranges of former Yugoslavia. Jones has a long-standing interest in the Balkans, having covered the Bosnian conflict in the 1990s during his stint as the ABC’s Europe correspondent. In conversation with Jason Steger at Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove, this veteran of Australian journalism discusses his foray into fiction and the experiences in Australia and overseas that have inspired it.

In previous Quarterly Essays, David Marr has turned his merciless pen to powerful men of the establishment: George Pell, Kevin Rudd, Tony Abbott and Bill Shorten. In his new biographical essay, however, Marr's subject is a self-styled populist outlier and a woman: Pauline Hanson. As Australian political figures go, they don't come much more colourful than Hanson. Her divisive speeches and curious catchphrases are etched into the memories of many Australians, from the maiden speech to Parliament (‘we are in danger of being swamped by Asians') to the famous response to the question of xenophobia on 60 Minutes (‘Please explain?'). Then there was the prison stint, the Dancing with the Stars stint, and the extraordinary recent comeback. The former fish-and-chips shop owner is both loved and loathed. And she's a serious threat to both major parties, with climbing national approval figures. Today, Hanson has much in common with other anti-immigration, protectionist and populist political figures gaining traction across the world. Join David Marr, one of the finest minds in Australian journalism, as he discusses Pauline Hanson and the uniquely Australian strain of the politics of resentment. Alex Miller is the author of an astounding ten novels – and the owner of a swag of literary awards, including two Miles Franklins (for Journey to the Stone Country and The Ancestor Game). His beautifully wrought, intricately thoughtful, novels excavate the heart of the Australian psyche, including the complex relationship between indigenous and settler Australia. Miller’s work is often informed by his early experience working and travelling in outback Australia, as a stockman and various other jobs, after emigrating from England at the age of 16. Coal Creek, his much-praised latest novel, sprang directly from that time. Miller inhabits the inarticulate character of Bobby Blue, a stockman’s son who becomes deputy to the local constable – an outsider with cosmopolitan views that don’t fit with the land he has arrived in. It’s a novel of love, betrayal, and what happens when cultures clash and lines are crossed. Presented in partnership with Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove.
