chelseacoachesyou.comchelseacoachesyou@gmail.com Hello, and welcome to the vitality feed today, we have a very special guest Chelsea Weiner. Chelsea and I are friends on a Facebook group called Women, Helping Women Entrepreneurs. What drew me to Chelsea was her mission on how to lead with your strengths and make that a habit. Habits and routines are definitely a worthy topic of discussion as they are a top priority for me and I hope that they will be a top priority for you as well. Please help me welcome Chelsea Weiner. Thank you so much for having me. I'm super excited to be here today. Tell our listeners a little bit about your background and how you got into the whole entrepreneurial space. Sure. So, uh, thanks again for having me, my name's Chelsea. And I say that I am a leadership and communication coach and consultant, mostly for different businesses, focusing a lot on nonprofits and boards. But my overall goal is to help people see the potential that they already have within themselves and just help them reframe that thinking. And like you mentioned, make it a habit. To help them lead with their best life. Uh, so with that, I have a few certifications under my belt. So I'm a Myers-Briggs type indicator, certified practitioner. So, you know, the Myers-Briggs assessment, that's one of the most popular ones that tells you if you're extroverted or introverted, uh, how you make your decisions, how you. Trust information, different things like that. And I'm also a Clifton strengths, which used to be strengths quest or StrengthsFinder coach as well, which is the one I'll focus on mostly today. Um, but I was able to use those trainings, really see the value that different companies and entrepreneurs were able to have by knowing their different strengths and by knowing their personality styles. So that's a little bit about my background. I've been a leadership advisor and in the leadership world for around eight years, but have focused a lot on my own business and company in the last year and a half. Very neat. There's a gentleman that I follow named Ray Dalio and he's in the finance world and he's been doing personality tests, and he takes those results and he actually makes his teams accordingly. What do you think about that? I think it's interesting when people use it to almost put people in a box. I, I think that there's definitely pros to that because we can see which types of teams might work more cohesively together. And that's my whole goal is to help a team with those team dynamics and help improve communication. But I also think that there's so much more to us than. Just a personality. So I like to see us as holistic people, so incorporating our personalities, plus our strengths, plus a few other, you know, workflow type of areas. Um, so I think it can be. Dangerous. If we do it for people that we don't know, uh, or say, you know, based off this personality style, you should be a doctor. You should be a teacher because there's so much importance of bringing in new thoughts and new creativity to those spaces. I think it can be helpful if you know the team already and know the different personalities on your team in order to. Figure out how to make the most successful. So don't use it solely as to base a decision on, but he's a collectively with other criteria. That makes sense. How do you feel about the validity of the them? Do you think some people answer the question to what they think that they should do versus should yes. Versus what they really are? Right, we get stuck. We say "shoulding" on ourselves. Right. So what we should do. Um, and so with that, I mean, you can obviously manipulate the, the assessment if you want. So if you want to be more organized, you can choose the answers that. We'll give you that more organized type. But then when I work with my clients, they say, you know, I answered it, who I wish I was and not who I currently am. So the information won't be as useful. So I always tell people, try to take the assessments when you're in your most clearest mindset. Uh, you know, when you don't have a ton of different stressors that are coming onto you. So when I work with students, for example, I say, let's not take this during. Finals week when you probably have so much additional stress on your plate, let's take it in a more typical week in your life. Um, so I do think people can manipulate it. I try to tell them not to, cause it'll give you the personality of who you wish you are versus who you are, but regarding the validity. I am very happy with the two assessments that I focus on because they are very valid and reliable. Uh, they are some of the most widely used Myers-Briggs is the most widely used assessment worldwide. And there's so much validity behind it. Where again, like you mentioned, if you take it correctly, you actually should get the same results over and over again. Uh, unless you have a really big life change. So something like a near death experience or, um, becoming a parent or maybe a pandemic can be a new life experience that we add to the list that we didn't know about before. Um, so they are pretty valid and reliable compared to a lot of the other ones that are out there. That's interesting that you mentioned that because I was thinking about that. I've taken the Myers-Briggs a long time ago. But I know I've changed and I should probably take it again. It's kind of the fun, I think, to take it again, to see if I've really had to, because I've had some big events happen from my life. I would love to give you the assessment and guide you through your, your different personality types, your results. That would be fun. We should do that next time. Totally, let's do that. I'm so on board with that, that sounds really fun. Um, Tell us a little more about the lead with your strengths. You know, I heard something about this once about, I'm big into efficiency and time management, and they were like, don't spend a lot of time trying to develop those things that are not natural to you, you don't like... trying to hire those things out and I'm thinking that you're on a similar page. Tell us more about leading with your strengths and how they become a habit. I think what you mentioned is so great of what the Clifton strengths assessment really tries to get at is let's see what we do well. So it came from an era of positive psychology. I have my master's in educational leadership and my bachelor's in psychology. So I love combining the psychology aspect with the leadership aspect. Um, so seeing the world of psychology used to be very. Negative. And there still are some psychologists that practice that of let's go dive deep into your past, figure out all the trauma you may be had. And, you know, sometimes it can be triggering to relive this. And then there came an era of positive psychology. So saying, this is who we are. Let's focus on that and let's use it to our advantage and let's focus on what we do well versus focused on what we want to try to change. So with that, the Clifton strengths. It fits that, that model perfectly. So if you take an assessment, it's really fun, you know, you get to say, um, what different types of answers you feel more drawn to? You know, it's all about you and the assessment. So when you hear that word, sometimes it sounds so boring to people, but it's fun to learn about yourself. So you take a little inventory or survey about yourself and it tells you your top five strengths out of a list of 34. So a lot of research went into what those 34 words are. You know, figuring out the most common strengths that people can have, and you get a list of your top five. And then what, so anyone can have access to that assessment. You pay for it, and you can have access as a coach. I try to take it a step further. So you can read that you are good at communication communicators. One of your number one strengths or relaters, one of your number one, and you can read about it. And that's great. What the assessment doesn't really tell you. And what I like to. To talk about with my clients is this is actually a talent that you have, and we need to work to make it into a strength. So what I mean by that is naturally, if communication is your number one, strength, which communication took the Clifton strengths assessment means that you like talking, you like storytelling, you like being verbal with how you explain things. Yeah, I don't mean to have me do it. Right. That's why we were drawn to the podcast world versus writing blogs, probably. Um, but if that is your number one, strength, according to this, the assessment, it means that you naturally do it well. It's a talent that you have. We actually have to work every day in order to take that talent and make it a strength. So strengths have what they kind of call a dark side of a strength. So for example, If you don't actively work to develop that talent into a strength, it can go awry. So you can be a rambler or you can over-communicate or overexplain something, uh, or you're not getting your message across clearly and effectively and concisely. So you can see that's one example. Another great one is empathy can be a strength as well. So if empathy is an overdrive, We feel those emotions of someone else so much that it becomes somewhat stifling to our own, you know, our own development. So it can be some somewhat of that dark side. So I help my clients say, this is what you do. Well, let's make sure that we can productively apply it to your life. I've always heard that empathy is the number one emotion that's most needed out in the world today. And that's probably true more than ever right now. Do you feel that's correct and it's probably gotten worse from the pandemic. Is that a fair statement? I think it is. I think it is one of those the personality traits that we value a lot in some of the top leaders. So I don't think it's the only of course leadership trait that someone needs. But I do think seeing where other people are or seeing how a decision might impact or affect someone is a trait that's really helpful. Again, I think being empathetic, but knowing. Where to draw the line of not being overly empathetic, because sometimes that can staple our decision making process because we care so much about how everyone's gonna react, that we feel like we can't make a decision. It paralyzes us. Sometimes I do think during the pandemic, people have both become more and less empathetic about specific topics. So I think people realize that a lot of. A lot of the world is experiencing hardships, whether financial or emotional, or, you know, literally experiencing deaths of some of the people that might be closest to them. So we approach different scenarios with kindness and compassion, but I think the pandemic has also made us agitated and annoyed and want to get out and get answers. And sometimes that frustration can bubble up more negatively around other people too. I think patients ,has really gone awry just because there's so much stuff not being produced and, and so many changes. And I just think people are having a harder time with the empathy because they just are lacking the skilled. How do people go about maybe trying to find their strengths and then use that to lead? So I love working with clients so I can work with anyone to help them find their strengths through the Clifton strengths and then figure out how we can incorporate those into all aspects of their life. So it works really well aligning in the business world. So I, I work with individuals, managers and whole teams in businesses to figure out how can we align your job duties with your strengths? And there's a great research that Gallup who's the organization that oversees the Clifton strengths assessment that they've done showing workplace retention, employee satisfaction, employee relations those percentages are so much higher when a company does encourage their employees to lead with strengths. So I love that. And there's the 34 different options as I mentioned, but those 34 words are organized into four. I like to call them larger buckets. So people are either executing, strategic thinking, relationship building or influencing. So all those 34 words are then categorized into those four areas. And kind of like what you said is, should we create teams that are, you know, more diverse and have different personality types or different strengths on the team? Or should we hone in and say, you're going to work well together. Let's create a team in that way. I do think that the diversity of thought can be really helpful in this way. A lot of times we'll see the CEOs or some of those top managers be really great with strategic thinking. That's like some of those words that are very futuristic or very visionary figuring out where the company is going to go. And then we see that they like to bring on people that are. Executing. They actually get the work done. They enact the vision, they carry out the vision and then the relationship building person on the team is going to, of course it makes sure that the team is happy, that people feel wanted and included, and the influencing team, a lot of times it's marketing and how can we get our message out there and get our message across and drive up those sales. So in this scenario, having someone on the team in each of those areas can be really helpful. And I think the best leaders know their own limitations. So they say I'm very good at coming up with a vision, but I'm not good at actually enacting that vision. I think removing that ego, so saying, let me hire someone. Who's going to be really good at enacting that vision is where the best leaders I, you know, I can see both sides of the coin there. I can see where like, if you have very opposing personalities where that might be a little frictional. But then I can also see where if everybody has a different shrink, how that would make the ball roll better. So , I never really thought about that before. That is super interesting. And what do you think, if you find that your strengths, what are maybe some helpful ideas about how to take those strengths and make them a habit? When I work with my clients, I try to ask them what in your day-to-day life do you really enjoy doing? So it can be any aspect of your life. It doesn't necessarily have to be about work, so it can be, do you enjoy interacting with other people? Do you enjoy researching different things on the internet and going down those rabbit holes and you realize, wow, you know, three hours have passed, whether that's good or bad, do you like. Coming up with larger concepts. Do you like being creative? What, what do you do where you, the time passes? And you're like, I can't believe I just spent this much time doing something. Right. And that's a great way to start with your strengths. So I know I mentioned, I worked a lot with businesses. I also work a lot with students and this is a great way for students to figure out how, you know, how do you help figure out your major and what you like doing what comes naturally to you? So seeing how we can then incorporate those into our everyday tasks. So of course there's some job duties that we just have to get done, whether we like them or not. Right. But you know, some of those may be more administrative tasks or some of those things that we have to do, but how can we focus on incorporating the strengths more so into those job duties that we like doing. And how can we make sure that we're utilizing ourselves the best? My number one tip is to talk with your manager. So I work a lot with managers to figure out how to empower the people on their team, to lead with their strengths. So I also encourage team members to talk with their managers and say, I really enjoy creating presentations, or I really enjoy public speaking or whatever that might be. And I don't feel like I do it as much in my job, but is there some way I can do that. So figuring out how you can try to incorporate some of those additional tasks into your day-to-day jobs, which will make you enjoy your job and feel like they're utilizing your abilities even more. Absolutely. I, that is exactly my philosophy on, employees is that if you find their strengths and you utilize them, if they enjoy that, they're happier employee. And then they'll take that happiness and they'll transfer it to the customer. You know what I mean? It's like, I, it's not customers first and mine world. It's happy employees first. And then that parlays into the happy customers and it just a trickle down effect. And I think it works really good, but, um, that's interesting that you have the same kind of concept there. I have a little deep question here if there's one thing in this world that you could eliminate, completely, what would it be and why? I love that question because it helps us, you know, figure out what do we like and what do we don't like about the world, which is obviously a huge question to me, the concept of imposter syndrome, which if your listeners don't know what that is, I'll give a quick explanation, but I wish I could eliminate that. So imposter syndrome is wondering if you really deserve the accolades or deserve the job position. Deserve what you've been getting in life. Uh, and a lot of times we second guess it. So maybe you got a position or you got into a grad, a grad school program, or you got an award at work and you wonder, did they really mean to give this to me or did they make a mistake? A lot of times. We don't know that there's really a term called imposter syndrome or the imposter phenomenon. That's affiliated with that. And I worked so much, especially with entrepreneurs to say, you earned your seat at the table. You earned this spot. Let's. Let's take away some of that insecurity, which is easier said than done. Right. But let's try to figure out how you can realize that you really earned this position. You're here. Let's validate you. Let's empower you to know that you have a seat at the table. So I wish I could eliminate that. Cause I feel like if, if we don't have that imposter syndrome, we would feel like there's so much more that we could accomplish. And of course that's where. All these creative ideas come from and how we make our world a better place. So I wish I could eliminate that imposter syndrome. I definitely think I had that when I first started my entrepreneurial adventure and I've come full circle because I got into the health arena and then that took a hold of my brain and then I got out and then I'm back. It is, um, paralyzing because you, you just, but there's some really cool people out there who are like, you know, no, one's going to say your message like you, um, and so you need to voice it from your experience and you never know like who that can help. Um, that actually happened to me. My very first podcast. I had somebody reach out to me and was like, you've inspired me so much. And I literally was floor. It just reiterated the fact that I need to have better communication in between my ears. Um, I love transformation of vocabulary. I'm very big incident, but it is even being aware of that it's still gonna happen. So it's, it's, it's definitely a thing that would be really cool to eliminate. So tell our listeners where they can get ahold of you. Is Chelsea. Yes, I would love to work with any and all of you, whether it's an individual setting or more for a team building activity for your jobs or your corporations and companies. So you can reach me at my website, which is Chelsea coaches, you.com. And on that, you'll see the information to contact me. I do free, uh, consultation or kind of onboarding calls with people to see if I can help you meet your goals. Cause my. My overarching goal is to make sure that you're able to achieve your goal. So I want to know that I can help you along the way. Uh, and then I have access to the Myers-Briggs assessment and the Clifton strengths assessment. So I could administer those out at and provide the coaching that follows it. So my website, Chelseacoachesyou.com or you can email me at Chelseacoachesyou@gmail.com or my Instagram is Chelsea coaches. You tried to keep it pretty consistent and easy. (۱۰) وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنَ السَّاجِدِينَ ﴿۱۱﴾We created you then We shaped you, then We said to the angels: 'Prostrate yourselves before Adam. ' They all prostrated themselves except iblis he was not among the prostrated. (۱۱) قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ ﴿۱۲﴾He (Allah) asked: 'What prevented you to prostrate, when I commanded you? ' 'I am better than he, ' he replied. 'You created me of fire and You created him of clay. ' (۱۲) قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَنْ تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ ﴿۱۳﴾He (Allah) said: 'Descend from it! This is no place for you to be proud. Begone, you are of the humiliated. ' (۱۳) قَالَ أَنْظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿۱۴﴾he replied: 'Respite me till the Day of Resurrection. ' (۱۴) قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ ﴿۱۵﴾Said He (Allah): 'you are among the respited, ' (۱۵) قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ﴿۱۶﴾he answered: 'Because You have caused me to go astray, I will waylay them as they walk on Your Straight Path, (۱۶) ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِهِمْ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ ﴿۱۷﴾and come upon them from the front and from the rear, from their right and from their left. Then, You shall find most of them ungrateful. ' (۱۷) قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَدْحُورًا لَمَنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿۱۸﴾'Begone! ' said He, 'despised and outcast. (As for) those of them that follow you, I shall fill Gehenna (Hell) with all of you. ' (۱۸) وَيَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنْتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿۱۹﴾'O Adam dwell with your wife in Paradise, and eat from whatever you please; but never approach this tree or you shall both become harmdoers. ' (۱۹) فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِنْ سَوْآتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ ﴿۲۰﴾But satan whispered to them, so that he might reveal to them their shameful parts which had been hidden from them, he said: 'Your Lord has prohibited you from this tree lest you both become angels or become among the immortal. ' (۲۰) وَقَاسَمَهُمَا إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ ﴿۲۱﴾he swore to both: 'Indeed, I am to you among the advisers. And when they had tasted the tree, their shameful parts became apparent to them, and they both covered themselves with the leaves of Paradise. (Then) their Lord called to them, saying: 'Did I not prohibit you to approach that tree, and did I not warn you that satan was your clear enemy? ' (۲۲) قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ ﴿۲۳﴾Both replied: 'Lord, We have harmed ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the lost. ' (۲۳) قَالَ اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ ﴿۲۴﴾He said: 'Descend, each of you an enemy to each other. The earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time. (۲۴) قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ ﴿۲۵﴾He said: 'There you shall live and there you shall die, and from there you shall emerge. ' (۲۵) يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْآتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَى ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ﴿۲۶﴾Children of Adam! We have sent down to you clothing that covers your nakedness, and feathers. But the clothing of piety that is better. That is one of the signs of Allah, in order that they remember. Do not let satan tempt you, as he brought your parents out of Paradise. He stripped them of their garments to show them their shameful parts. Indeed he and his descendants see you from where you cannot see them. We have made the satans supporters of those who do not believe. (۲۷) وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آبَاءَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۲۸﴾When they commit an indecency, they say: 'This is what we found our fathers practicing, and with it Allah has ordered us. Turn your faces to Him in every place of prayer and supplicate to Him, making the religion sincerely to Him. As He originated you, you shall return. ' (۲۹) فَرِيقًا هَدَى وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلَالَةُ إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ ﴿۳۰﴾Some He has guided, and upon some justly is the straying; for they had chosen the satans for supporters instead of Allah and suppose themselves to be guided. (۳۰) يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿۳۱﴾Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. Eat and drink, and do not waste. He does not love the wasteful. (۳۱) قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۳۲﴾Say: 'Who has forbidden the adornment that Allah has brought for His worshipers and the good provision? ' Say: 'They are in this life for those who believe, and purely theirs on the Day of Resurrection. ' As such We distinguish the verses to people who know. (۳۲) قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَالْإِثْمَ وَالْبَغْيَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَأَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۳۳﴾Say: 'My Lord has forbidden all indecent acts whether apparent or disguised and sin, and unjust insolence, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has never sent down an authority, or to say about Allah what you do not know. ' (۳۳) وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ ﴿۳۴﴾To every nation a term; when their term comes they shall not delay it by a single hour, nor yet hasten it. (۳۴) يَا بَنِي آدَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي فَمَنِ اتَّقَى وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿۳۵﴾Children of Adam, when Messengers of your own come to narrate to you My verses, those who are cautious and mend their ways will have nothing to fear neither shall they be saddened, (۳۵) وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ ﴿۳۶﴾but, those who belie and grow proud against Our verses shall be the inhabitants of the Fire, and there they shall remain for ever. (۳۶) فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ أُولَئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُمْ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوا أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِينَ ﴿۳۷﴾Who is more harmful than he who invents a lie about Allah or belies His verses? Such shall have their share of the Book, and when Our Messengers come to take them away, they shall say to them: 'Where now are those whom you invoked, other than Allah? ' 'They have forsaken us, ' they will answer, and will bear witness against themselves that they were unbelievers. (۳۷) قَالَ ادْخُلُوا فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ فِي النَّارِ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا حَتَّى إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُولَاهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَؤُلَاءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَآتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِنَ النَّارِ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَكِنْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۳۸﴾He will say: 'Enter the Fire and join the nations of jinn and humans that have gone before you. ' As they enter, every nation will curse its sisternation, and when all are gathered in the pit, the last of them will say of the first: 'These, Lord, are those who led us astray. Give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will answer: 'For each double, although you do not know it. ' (۳۸) وَقَالَتْ أُولَاهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ ﴿۳۹﴾Then, the first will say to the last: 'You were no better than us. ' So taste the punishment for what you have earned. (۳۹) إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿۴۰﴾The gates of heaven shall not be opened for those who have belied and grew proud against Our verses; nor shall they enter Paradise until a camel shall pass through the eye of a needle. Rivers shall flow underneath them, and they shall say: 'Praise be to Allah who has guided us to this. Had Allah not given us guidance we should not have been guided. The Messengers of our Lord surely came with the truth. ' Then they are called: 'This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you did. ' (۴۳) وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَنْ قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿۴۴﴾Then the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire: 'What our Lord promised we have found to be true, have you too, found the promise of your Lord to be true? ' 'Yes, ' they shall answer, and a Caller will announce between them that the curse of Allah is upon the harmdoers, (۴۴) الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ ﴿۴۵﴾who have barred others from the Path of Allah and sought to make it crooked, and who had no belief in the Everlasting Life. To the companions of Paradise they shall call: 'Peace be upon you! ' Yet they did not enter it on account of their eagerness. (۴۶) وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَاءَ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿۴۷﴾And when they turn their eyes towards the companions of the Fire, they will say: 'Lord, do not cast us among the harmdoers! ' (۴۷) وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُوا مَا أَغْنَى عَنْكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﴿۴۸﴾And the companions of the ramparts call to men whose marks they recognize: 'Neither your amassing nor your pride have availed you. ' (۴۹) وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿۵۰﴾The companions of the Fire will call out to the companions of Paradise: 'Pour upon us some water, or some of that which Allah has provided you. ' But they shall reply: 'Allah has forbidden both to the unbelievers, (۵۰) الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ ﴿۵۱﴾who made their religion an amusement and play, and who were beguiled by their worldly life. ' On this Day We will forget them as they forgot the meeting of that Day; for they denied Our verses. On the Day when it is realized, those who have forgotten it will say: 'The Messengers of our Lord have surely come with the truth. Have we then any intercessors to intercede for us, or shall we be returned to do other than that we have done? ' They have lost their souls, and that which they invented will have gone astray from them. He throws the veil of night over the day. Swiftly they follow one another. The sun, the moon, and the stars are compelled to His order. His is the creation, His is the command. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. (۵۴) ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ ﴿۵۵﴾Supplicate to your Lord with humility and in secret. How can I grieve for the unbelieving nation? ' (۹۳) وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا أَخَذْنَا أَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ ﴿۹۴﴾We sent no Prophet to a village but seized its inhabitants with misfortune and adversity in order that they might be humble in supplication. (۱۲۵) وَمَا تَنْقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ﴿۱۲۶﴾You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Lord, pour patience upon us and let us die as submitters (Muslims). ' (۱۲۶) وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَى وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ ﴿۱۲۷﴾The assembly of Pharaoh's nation said: 'Will you allow Moses and his nation to corrupt in the land and to forsake you and your gods? ' He replied: 'We will put their sons to death and spare their women, indeed we are conquerors over them. ' (۱۲۷) قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿۱۲۸﴾Moses said to his nation: 'Seek help from Allah and be patient. The earth belongs to Allah; He gives it as a heritage to whom He chooses amongst His worshipers. The outcome is for the cautious. ' (۱۲۸) قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا قَالَ عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۱۲۹﴾They replied: 'We were hurt before you came to us, and after you came to us. ' He said: 'Your Lord may destroy your enemies and make you inheritors in the land. Then He will see how you conduct yourselves. ' (۱۲۹) وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ﴿۱۳۰﴾We seized Pharaoh's people with years of drought and scarcity of fruit so that they might remember. (۱۳۰) فَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا لَنَا هَذِهِ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوسَى وَمَنْ مَعَهُ أَلَا إِنَّمَا طَائِرُهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿۱۳۱﴾When good things came their way, they said: 'It is our due, ' but when evil befell them they blamed their ill fortune on Moses and those with him. Indeed their ill fortune was with Allah, though most of them did not know. (۱۳۱) وَقَالُوا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ مِنْ آيَةٍ لِتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۱۳۲﴾They said: 'Whatever sign you bring to us, to cast a spell upon us, we will not believe in you. ' (۱۳۲) فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُجْرِمِينَ ﴿۱۳۳﴾So We sent upon them floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood. (All these were) clear signs, yet they were proud against them, for they were wicked people. (۱۳۳) وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ لَئِنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ﴿۱۳۴﴾And when the plague smote them, they said: 'Moses, pray to your Lord for us invoking the promise He has made with you. If you lift the plague from us, we will believe in you and let the Children of Israel go with you. ' (۱۳۴) فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ إِلَى أَجَلٍ هُمْ بَالِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنْكُثُونَ ﴿۱۳۵﴾But when We had lifted the plague from them for a term which they had to reach, they broke their promise. (۱۳۵) فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ ﴿۱۳۶﴾So We punished them and drowned them in the sea, for they had belied Our signs and gave no heed to them. (۱۳۶) وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَى عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ ﴿۱۳۷﴾We gave the persecuted nation dominion over the eastern and western lands which We had blessed. So the Word of your Lord, the finest, was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their patience; and We destroyed the edifices, and towers of Pharaoh and whatsoever they manufactured. (۱۳۷) وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَامٍ لَهُمْ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ ﴿۱۳۸﴾and We moved the Children of Israel from one side of the sea to the other, and they came upon a nation zealously devoted to the idols they had. They said to Moses: 'Make a god for us, as they have gods. ' Moses replied: 'You are indeed an ignorant nation. (۱۳۸) إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۱۳۹﴾That which they are engaged upon shall be shattered and all their works are vain. (۱۳۹) قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۱۴۰﴾Should I seek any god for you except Allah? He has exalted you above the nations. (۱۴۰) وَإِذْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ وَفِي ذَلِكُمْ بَلَاءٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ ﴿۱۴۱﴾And that We saved you from Pharaoh's family, who had oppressed you cruelly, putting your sons to death and sparing your women. Surely, that was a great trial from your Lord. ' (۱۴۱) وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَى ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَى لِأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿۱۴۲﴾We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and We completed them with ten more; so that the appointment with his Lord took forty nights. Moses said to Aaron, his brother: 'Take my place among my nation. Do what is right and do not follow the path of the corrupt doers. ' (۱۴۲) وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَى لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَنْ تَرَانِي وَلَكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَى صَعِقًا فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿۱۴۳﴾And when Moses came at the appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: 'Lord, let me see, that I can look at You. ' He replied: 'You shall not see Me. But look at the mountain; if it remains firm in its place, then shall you see Me. ' And when his Lord was revealed to the mountain and caused it to be crushed and leveled whereupon Moses fell down senseless, and when he recovered, he said: 'Exaltations to You! I repent to You. I am the first of believers. ' (۱۴۳) قَالَ يَا مُوسَى إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي فَخُذْ مَا آتَيْتُكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ ﴿۱۴۴﴾He said: 'Moses, I have chosen you from all mankind with My Messages and My Words. Therefore, take what I have given you, and be among the thankful.' (۱۴۴) وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ فِي الْأَلْوَاحِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا بِأَحْسَنِهَا سَأُرِيكُمْ دَارَ الْفَاسِقِينَ ﴿۱۴۵﴾We inscribed for him upon the Tablets all kinds of exhortation and clear explanations of all things. So take it forcefully, and order your nation to take what is best of it. I shall show you the home of the wicked. (۱۴۵) سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كُلَّ آيَةٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الْغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ ﴿۱۴۶﴾From My signs I will turn away the unrightfully, arrogant in the land, so that even if they witness every sign they would not believe it. If they see the path of righteousness, they shall not take it as a path; but if they see the path of error, they shall take it for their path because they belied Our signs and were inattentive towards them. (۱۴۶) وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿۱۴۷﴾Vain are the deeds of those who belie Our signs and the Everlasting Life. Shall they not be recompensed except for what they used to do? (۱۴۷) وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَى مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّهُ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا اتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ ﴿۱۴۸﴾In his absence, the nation of Moses made a calf from their ornaments, a body with a hollow sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor guide them to a path? Yet they took it in worship and were harmdoers. (۱۴۸) وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ ﴿۱۴۹﴾But when it landed in their hands and saw that they had strayed, they said: 'If our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we shall be lost.

WHAT HASN'T CHANGED IN OUR EVER CHANGING WORLD?1. Our Mandate hasn't changed. 2 Our Master Hasn't changed. 3. Our Message hasn't changed. 4. Our Method hasn't changed. 5. Man hasn't changed. SIX KEY INGREDIENTS OF EVANGELISTIC CHURCHES 1. THERE MUST BE ACCORD / UNITY Acts 2:1 "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all with one accord in one place."2. THERE MUST BE AUTHORITY AMONG OUR LEADERSActs 2:14 "Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd."1 Peter 5:1-2 "To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder. Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care."3. THERE MUST BE AN ALLEGIANCE TO THE WORD OF GODActs 2:15-16 "These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel." 4. THERE MUST BE ACTIVITY OF WITNESSINGActs 2:32 "God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact."5. THERE MUST BE AN APPEAL TO BE SAVEDActs 2:40 "With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."John 4:28-30 "Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 'Come, see a man. Could this be the Christ?' They came out of the town and made their way toward him."6. THERE MUST BE THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE FOR ADDITION TO OCCURActs 2:42-47 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
Who or what is holding you together when everything seems to be falling apart around you? Where do you turn when all of your sure-things have crumbled? In episode 114 of the All of Life Show, we discuss the way that many Christians are being awakened to the reality that their faith can only truly rest in Jesus Christ. The only hope we have, whether things are great or terrible, is the hope of the promise of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our Message doesn't change! No, we are to press further into the grace and hope of the gospel! If you're feeling overwhelmed and without hope, it's a strong indicator that you've had your hope in the wrong place. Scripture referenced in this episode:Colossians 1:9-29
efore you ever existed, there was a plan already in place for your life, AND, you were engineered and wired to make a powerful and specific difference in a targeted, specific arena. Last week we talked about identifying what deeply moves you, excites you, angers you, or even breaks your heart. I'm driving home the idea you are created, uniquely designed, and specifically wired to make a difference in this world. Perhaps you've already identified your passion or cause, and you want to share it strategically to make a maximum impact for others. Now what? Today we're taking a deeper look into how to find your voice and deliver your message effectively and confidently. Feature Presentation: Finding Your Voice The convergence of your unique wiring and deep passion brings about the possibility of a real mission, a real purpose, a course of action you can take in order to make what is on the inside of you really count. But will you take that course of action? Hesitancies are born out of: Lack of confidence Fear Deep insecurity Don't know how to speak or deliver a message Don't know how to find the people who want to listen How have we become so programmed to believe that the very thing we are BORN to do is unattainable? Here is the greater issue … The people we are called to serve with OUR MESSAGE are not getting the help, support, or information they desperately desire because we have yet to engage our calling in life. In our upcoming WORKSHOP, we're going to take time to help those who attend to get past the hang-ups, find their voice, and absolutely get in the game! Delivering Your Message It is widely stated one of the greatest fears most people have is public speaking. Here's a dirty little secret: Most of the great communicators, spokespersons, advocates, and leaders you admire and respect are just as normal, unassuming, and down to earth as YOU are. They will tell you that their early presentations and speeches were terrible. Here is the DIFFERENCE: Their passion, pain, and their recognition of the needs of others were stronger than their fear, insecurities, or lack of confidence. What About The Technical Stuff? Things like: Defining and clarifying your core message Techniques for preparation and delivery How to book yourself as a speaker or trainer How to connect with your audience and command a room Here is the bottom line: Your message is important. Your voice needs to be heard. You can (and must) make a difference in the area and with the people you've been called to serve. It's not enough to simply have a passion. YOU are the difference maker! You are uniquely qualified, and you are READY to take your cause, your message, your passion to the world.
December 1, 2019 – Pastor Guy kicks off a new message series “Our Heart is People, Our Message is Jesus, This is Christmas” with a mission statement. He teaches how this streamlined phrase can apply to you and others in every day life.
Sometimes we reduce the Good News. It is a message about both a King and His Kingdom. Not one or the other, but both. Let's explore both.
Paul did not see ministry as an ordinary job. He did not peddle the gospel for for his own self-interests or gain.Is it "What can the church do for me?" or "How can I serve in the church?"Is the church here to worship and minister? Or is it really all about "me"?Our Message and Motives matter.Don't hide behind a spiritual mask. Be sincere, honest, and transparent. It's about "Who We Are In Christ" Live life according to WHO YOU ARE IN CHRISTLive Sincerely IN Christ. You can't out sin the grace of God.We all have flaws-our identity and sincerity come from God.Learn to forgive ourselves and others.

We want to keep our mess hidden. It’s human nature. We don’t want anyone else to see what we don’t think is “perfect.” We were taught that people judge by appearances and that its important to LOOK like we have it all together. But what if we were taught that the MESS is where the JUICE is? It’s our passion. It’s our path. It’s what we incarnate for… What if the MESS is where all the good stuff is? This week we talk about EMBRACING OUR MESS, and letting it become OUR MESSAGE!!
Our Message today comes from 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. This morning we studied Agape Love. It is a POWERFUL message about loving others as God first loved us. Message brought by Rashad Cunningham.
During Advent this year, we'll be going through Colossians 1 and learning more about who Jesus is... This week, Tom dives into how Jesus is Our Message
“How do we talk about ourselves in business without giving up our power, or asserting too much power?” In this week’s episode, Sonya and Laura discuss the importance of building confidence in speaking about self within the context of business. Too often, women struggle to speak about themselves, without feeling that they are being arrogant or cocky. This becomes a huge issue in the way of success. If you can’t clearly articulate your value, it is hard to create financial success in your business. Some of the struggle has been built into our culture through years of suppression. We were conditioned to “sit quietly and look pretty”. Business has always been a masculine dominated field and women still struggle to have a voice in it. Sonya and Laura talk about how important it is for women to speak up and learn to talk about themselves with confidence. Business is one of the greatest paths to finding our voice and owning our authority. “When we own our experience without making anyone ‘wrong,’ that is authority. When we believe our experience is the only wisdom out there, and everyone else is wrong, that’s arrogance” Sonya and Laura explore the pain that many women feel as they recognize the ways that their voice has been suppressed. We may feel a sense of anger and this feeling is ok! It is important to process this pain, in our pursuit of wellness, in order for us to find success in life and in business. This is the path to owning who we are and what we have to bring to the world. It is a rite of passage for learning to talk about ourselves authentically. “Igniting our power often brings up a lot of the pain we’ve experienced from denying our power” Many times, our story influences our desire to build our business. However, our story cannot be the foundation of our business. Our story adds flavor, but the foundation of the business must be the desire to address the need of the consumer. As we focus on developing our wisdom and authority, the internal validation we experience will give a sense of power. We don’t have to put our authority out there for someone else to validate. Seeking external validation will lead to a sense of incongruence with self. Being true to self will foster confidence, authority, and give us a voice in our business. Some Topics we talk about in this episode: Introduction - 0:56 Congruence in Our Message- 4:20 Why Is it So Hard for Women to Speak to Our Expertise- 7:45 The Importance of Having a Viewpoint- 11:50 The Pain of Denying our Power- 15:16 The Value of Talking About Yourself in Your Business- 20:20 Developing Your Authority- 27:20 Self-Assessment and Realignment as You Develop Your Authority- 35:00 Wrap-up and Takeaways - 41:25 How to get involved Join the Women in the Business Arena Group on Facebook and continue the discussion starting next week! https://www.facebook.com/groups/womeninthebusinessarena Reach out to us - we’d love to hear more about where you’re at in life and business! Our summer series entitled "Rebooting Church" continues with guest speaker Chris Keezer. Our church has ten core values that will be explored and peached on throughout the summer. This week, Chris teaches on the value that "Jesus is Our Message" and challenges us with, "What Jesus are you presenting?" Sermon from August 13, 2017.
Our Message is more important than the environments we create. What is that Message?
John 1:1-141. Our Message is the Cross2. Our Calling is from God3. Our Boasting is in the Lord
