In this week's episode, Coach Kaila Allen MWSCC takes listeners on a deep somatic dive into the relational architecture of our lives, revealing that our friendships, romantic partnerships, and family dynamics all share identical core blueprints. We examine the painful paradox of why so many seekers maintain smooth, congenial interactions with distant acquaintances yet deeply ache for authentic intimacy and vulnerability in their closer circles. Guided by the protective strategies of the nervous system, Coach Kaila unpacks how core deficiency beliefs and hypervigilant survival responses—Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn—silently act as internal security guards that dictate who we let into our inner rings and how we protect our energetic peace. Listeners will learn to map the distinct somatic profiles of low-vigilance sanctuary connections versus the exhausting, bracing weight of high-vigilance relationships where we walk on eggshells. We explore how to cultivate absolute somatic congruence—the body's ultimate love language—by aligning our heart, guts, and vocal expression to stimulate vital vagal toning. Drawing on the trauma-informed integration frameworks of Dr. Arielle Schwartz and Dr. Glenn Doyle, this episode provides actionable coaching strategies to help you stop codependent fixing habits, establish clean boundaries, and reclaim your sovereign power as the active weaver of your ongoing life story. In today's episode, Olivia is joined by Abimbola Olajide, serial social entrepreneur and Chief of Play, to explore tactile, hands-on facilitation and what it means to work with the whole person in the room. With a background spanning community convening, grief support, and corporate consultancy, Abimbola shares how she found her way into facilitation and why embodied, kinesthetic approaches are at the heart of everything she does. They talk about: ● paying close attention to embodied feeling when listening to stories ● how personal experience led to founding a CIC supporting people through life transitions ● her consultancy grounded in human-centred work, congruence, and her àjọṣe ("let's do it together") practice, using tools like LEGO Serious Play & modelling wax ● how metaphor, play and physical materials open up focus, emotion and better decision-making, even in corporate spaces. Quote highlights "The power of metaphor, but also using tactile with that, just allows people to go from 'fine'to actually 'this is what this model is saying today'... it gets from zero to deep really quick" "A decision doesnn;t have to be 'I need all the data, and then I need to be stressed... I can play about this'. FREE RESOURCE: Try our Burnout Archetype Quiz: https://twc-jqgxs.involve.me/archetype-quiz In this episode of Wild Medicine, Dr. Michelle Peris explores the themes of self-trust, the Wild Woman archetype, and the impact of good girl conditioning on women's emotional awareness and relationships. She discusses the importance of understanding sensory data, setting boundaries, and recognizing incongruence in relationships. The conversation emphasizes the need for effective communication skills and the cost of overanalyzing interactions. Dr. Peris also introduces the concept of the fawn response, highlighting how hypervigilance can lead to disconnection from one's own needs and desires. In this conversation, Dr. Michelle Peris delves into the complexities of overthinking, the impact of good girl conditioning, and the importance of setting boundaries. She emphasizes how the nervous system plays a crucial role in our responses to perceived threats and how societal conditioning can lead to self-doubt and compliance. Through personal anecdotes and insights, she encourages women to trust their instincts and recognize the data their bodies provide, ultimately advocating for a more empowered and authentic way of living. Takeaways The Wild Woman archetype encourages women to embrace their true selves. Good girl conditioning can lead to a lack of self-trust. Understanding sensory data is crucial for setting boundaries. Congruence in relationships is essential for emotional health. Overanalyzing others' behaviour can lead to confusion and resentment. Effective communication skills are vital for expressing needs. The fawn response can cause disconnection from one's own emotions. Rewilding involves reclaiming one's emotional awareness. Self-trust is foundational for healthy relationships. The cost of not addressing incongruence in relationships is high. Your nervous system is trained to protect you from perceived danger. Good girl conditioning leads to a deep association between compliance and self-worth. Setting boundaries can feel threatening due to past conditioning. Overanalyzing relationships often stems from a desire for safety. The discomfort you feel is a signal of an imbalance, not a betrayal. Honesty in relationships fosters intimacy and connection. Women often struggle to set boundaries due to fear of conflict. Recognizing the mismatch between words and actions is crucial for self-trust. Small adjustments in behaviour can lead to healthier boundaries. Trusting your own data is essential for personal empowerment. https://enlighteninglife.com/april-2026-energy-report/This is my birthday month and maybe that is why I have been so distracted in recent weeks. I feel that this birthday is different, special, and brings in some big changes. I do not know what they are yet, but I know they are important. And for you astrology fans – I also have a lunar return on the same day as my solar return. That doesn't happen very often. April 2026 is a 5 numerology and that is the number of pivots, possibilities, and the transition phase. 5 represents the bridge between the stability of 4 and the descension energy of 6. 5 is pivot point. It's a transitional number that is a temporary stopping point while we decide what to do next. That's why it's so fitting for this month. With a 5 vibe April is already set to be a month where change, insights, new potentials, and energy movement will be happening. With a new moon on April 17 that features 8 planets in Aries, action is on the agenda. We just need to make sure that it is aligned, purposeful, intentional action. Preparing to Meet Your First Client - Humanism vs Person-Centred Therapy In Episode 371 of the Counselling Tutor Podcast, your hosts Rory Lees-Oakes and Ken Kelly explore three key topics relevant to counsellors and counselling students. Firstly, in ‘Ethical, Sustainable Practice', they introduce the emerging conversation around AI in counselling, exploring whether therapists are being left behind and how practitioners can engage with AI ethically. Then in ‘Practice Matters', Rory speaks with Jessica Wing about preparing to meet your very first client, sharing insights to help students transition from classroom practice to real therapeutic work. And finally, in ‘Student Services', Rory and Ken clarify the difference between humanism and person-centred therapy, a common area of confusion for counselling students studying theoretical models. AI in Counselling – Have Therapists Been Left Behind? [starts at 03:07 mins] In this section, Rory and Ken explore the growing role of AI in counselling and why therapists cannot afford to ignore the conversation. Key points discussed include: AI is already embedded in many tools therapists use daily (email systems, video platforms, and software), even if practitioners do not actively use AI themselves. Counsellors don't need to become technology experts, but they do need to understand the ethical implications of AI in practice. Clients are increasingly using AI tools themselves, sometimes discussing personal struggles with chatbots and bringing those experiences into therapy. Therapists can respond with curiosity rather than resistance, exploring how AI interactions affect a client's experience and meaning-making. Practitioners may fall into different camps regarding AI: the enthusiast, the resistor, the anxious middle, or the pragmatist. Ethical frameworks and professional bodies in the UK (such as BACP and NCPS) are already beginning to address AI in guidance and policy. Preparing to Meet Your First Client [starts at 27:55 mins] In this week's Practice Matters, Rory speaks with counsellor and trainer Jessica Wing about preparing to see your first client as a counselling student. Key points from this conversation include: The transition from classroom triads to working with real clients can feel daunting because real clients bring richer and more complex stories. First-session anxiety is normal; leaning on support from supervisors and placement teams can help ground and reassure students. The first session is not about solving everything – it is about building trust, establishing rapport, and beginning the therapeutic relationship. Focusing on relational presence rather than getting everything “right” allows counsellors to be more authentic and effective. Maintaining self-regulation before sessions (for example through breathing exercises or grounding techniques) helps create a calm therapeutic space. Supervision plays a vital role in early practice, offering reassurance, reflection, and professional support as students begin their client work. Humanism vs Person-Centred Therapy [starts at 49:34 mins] In this section, Rory and Ken unpack the difference between humanism and person-centred therapy (PCT), a distinction that often confuses counselling students. Key points include: Humanistic psychology is a broad philosophical approach to understanding people, emphasising growth, free will, and personal meaning. It emerged as the “third force” in psychology, alongside psychoanalysis and behaviourism, influenced by thinkers like Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers. Person-centred therapy is a specific therapeutic model that applies humanistic principles in practice. PCT is built on the belief in the actualising tendency – the idea that people naturally move toward growth and fulfilment when the right conditions are present. Rogers identified the core conditions (empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard) as essential elements for therapeutic change. While many modern therapies incorporate humanistic values, person-centred therapy places the therapeutic relationship and client-led growth at the very centre of the approach. Here is a full handout on this topic: Humanistic Psychology vs Person-Centred Therapy The terms humanistic psychology and person-centred therapy (PCT) are often used interchangeably, but they refer to different levels of theory and practice. Humanistic Psychology (Humanism) Humanistic psychology emerged in the mid-20th century, associated with figures such as Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers and Rollo May. It became known as the “third force” in psychology, following psychoanalysis and behaviourism. Humanism proposes that people are fundamentally oriented toward growth, meaning and creativity when the right conditions are present. Key Ideas People have an innate drive toward growth and self-actualisation Subjective experience is central to understanding the person Individuals have free will and personal responsibility Therapy focuses on the whole person, not only symptoms In therapy, humanism is an umbrella term that includes several approaches, such as: Person-centred therapy Gestalt therapy Existential therapy Transactional analysis These approaches share a focus on human potential, authenticity and lived experience. Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) Person-centred therapy was developed by Carl Rogers as a specific approach within the humanistic tradition. Central to Rogers' theory is the actualising tendency - the natural human drive toward growth and psychological health. Rogers described several conditions necessary for therapeutic change. Three key therapist attitudes are: Congruence – genuineness and authenticity Unconditional positive regard – acceptance without judgement Empathic understanding – sensing the client's internal frame of reference Person-centred therapy is intentionally non-directive. The client leads the process while the therapist provides the facilitative relational climate for change. Key Differences Level Humanistic psychologyA broad philosophy about human nature and helping. Person-centred therapyA specific therapeutic model developed by Rogers. Scope Humanism influences therapy, education, organisational work and personal development. Person-centred therapy describes a specific way of practising counselling, centred on the relationship and the core conditions. Practice Humanistic practitioners may integrate techniques while maintaining a humanistic philosophy. Classical person-centred therapists prioritise the relational conditions and tend to avoid structured techniques or therapist-led agendas. A Simple Way to Remember Humanistic psychology The broad philosophy that sees people as growth-oriented and best understood through their subjective experience. Person-centred therapy Carl Rogers' specific, non-directive therapeutic approach built around empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. https://enlighteninglife.com/march-2026-energy-report/ March is the only month whose name is an action word. It is also the natural start of the new year, which begins on the spring equinox, March 20 this year. That is the day when the Sun reaches the Zero Point, at 0 Aries. And what is happening at the point right now? Yes we have Neptune there and we did have Saturn there too just recently . And in March we'll have other planets at that point. Plus a game changing eclipse. This is the annual starting line, the reboot, and the astrological birthday, so let's celebrate. March is the 3rd month of the year and in 2026 it is a 4 year. 4 is the number of stability, structure, and grounding. There are 4 elements – water, fire, earth, and air. There are 4 seasons, 4 quarters in an annual cycle. 4 is the number of completion and of balance. With 4 we feel structured, grounded, and are standing on a stable foundation, , and it is fitting that we have a 4 month in March. The March energy theme reflects that with a theme of Rebirth, Reckoning, and Re-Structuring. We have rebirth with spring when all of nature returns to life after hibernating over a long, cold winter. We have a Reckoning as we make careful, deliberate, intentional choices about our life path. This includes where we are now and where we want to be, who gets access to us and our energy, where we spend our time, energy, and effort, and how we manage our energy resources. Re-structuring refers to how we will build our lives, and instead of choosing a random path, we have to become architects of our reality. With a focus on the path we can become victims to destiny, uncertainty, surprises, and unexpected events. As architects of our reality we have a design, a plan, and a vision of the outcome. There's room for course correction but far fewer surprises and upsets. Read the rest of the article on the blog at this link. https://enlighteninglife.com/greed-grift-graft-spiritual-industry/We are watching, in real time, the collapse of the guru era — the for-profit spiritual industry built on glamour, paid access, and manufactured enlightenment. This is not only about Deepak Chopra's infamous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, although that plays a part. For nearly two decades I've witnessed people pour their faith, money, and power into authors and teachers who positioned themselves as the sole keepers of truth. I knew it could not and would not last, something I have been saying for many years. I have been part of the spiritual world longer than most of the people who are now writing public apologies. While others built high-ticket empires and declared themselves enlightened, I did my work quietly, consistently, and with integrity. I turned down publishers, refused to share stages with those I thought were fraudsters, and never sold access to myself as a product. So this moment of reckoning does not surprise me. The truth always rises. And the collapse of the guru economy was inevitable. Now the curtain has finally been pulled back and people are left wondering whom to trust. My work as a spiritual mentor, teacher, and guide began by accident, first in 1991 when I started a spiritual group in Houston, Texas that quickly grew to include hundreds of members. Then in 2004, when I answered a calling that required me to give up a career I loved in business and technology. I never saw myself as a ‘leader,' I did not want to be a ‘guru,' I just wanted to help people find their own path and learn how to be in control of their own energy. Since 2004 I have written 8 books, all self-published, all best sellers. No ‘famous' author has ever written a promotional blurb for me, I was not part of their crowd. I have written over 5000 articles, started the first internet-based live weekly broadcast in March 2004 that I still host today. I started teaching online courses in March 2004, an early pioneer in online training. Identity congruence means every part of who I am is in alignment, and in this episode, I explain why that matters. When my thoughts, words, actions, and image don't match, it creates friction and confusion for me and everyone around me. Most people think they lack skill or knowledge, but the real problem is internal and external signals being out of sync. When everything lines up, trust, power, and presence show up naturally. Congruence focuses your energy in one direction instead of leaking it everywhere. Show Notes: [03:48]#1 Your thoughts. [06:59]#2 Your image. [12:46]#3 Your words. This message challenges us to go beyond just talking about faith—to actually living it out, with a consistency (“congruence”) between our beliefs and our everyday actions. Pastors and church leaders are entrusted with the mysteries of the Gospel and are called to faithfully serve rather than seeking recognition or power. https://enlighteninglife.com/february-2026-energy-report/What do you think is possible when a month starts with every personal planet in Aquarius and a full moon in Leo, and those aspects have only happened 3 times in 2500 years -- 85, 1300, and 1772, (since 500 BC which is when recorded astrology began)? And that is not all. We have Saturn entering Aries for the first time since 1996, a Saturn/Neptune conjunction at the 0 Aries Point – the start of the zodiac – and has never happened in recorded history. And there is an eclipse too.To add to the mix of energies in February, Mercury will be going retrograde in Pisces to establish yet another Alpha Omega Portal. It's going to be month to remember. You heard it here first.February is a 3 month – the number of creativity. February is the 2nd month (2) and 2026 is a 1 year, 2 + 1 = 3. 3 represents creativity, communication, first stage expansion – beyond limitation, and a new level of awareness. So if you are feeling creative, do something about it. Take an art or a dance class, take up photography, make something, cook, bake, or explore new places.February will feel like the real beginning of 2026. And if 2025 was a limiting year for you, then 2026 will be expansive – at least it has the potential to be. How and if that happens is up to you. And if you didn't feel it in January, don't worry, that is not what the rest of the year will be like. January was still holding dense energy from 2025 and with a heavy Capricorn signature, it was not going to be a very fun month.Read the full article on the website blog at this link. https://enlighteninglife.com/november-2025-energy-report/This year has been a struggle for me and I know for many of you. For me it was the first year in 7 years that I have not been in constant, horrible pain. That finally ended in December 2024 but getting back to a normal daily routine has been a struggle. I was dealing with the pain for so long that my normal routine had to be abandoned for what I could do. So this year has been a catch-up and I am finally getting to the point where I can feel productive and motivated again. And how fitting that it happens in this November with its double 11 vibration. It's the 11th month and 2025 + 11 = 11. This means more emphasis on new beginnings, new pathways, and exploring new potentials. It doesn't mean having to do your life over as we never start from zero. It means learning to let go of what you can no longer serve and start serving your own needs. What do you want? What would bring joy to your life? What does a joyful, stress-free and challenge free life look like? The karma cycles that have kept us in energetic bondage for lifetimes are unraveling as we see in the end of relationships that are now well and truly over, rather than in the way you have been trying to get them to go.That especially includes the relatives you call ‘family' and have been trying to create your definition of family with. How many of you now realize that you can no longer get these people to become the family you want to have? Once you release your expectations you can see if a new type of relationship can be created – but don't hold your breath. And remember that your mother, father, siblings, and close relatives are your first line of karma partners. Keep that in mind if you see an implosion happening with them, when you learnRead the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. https://enlighteninglife.com/toxic-family-new-energy-community/ For 15 years I have been talking about how we are creating space for our energetic family and we have been seeing examples of that happening. Whether it has fully happened for you yet, is just a matter of time. Like a slowly approaching tide, the truth that we have been trying our best to avoid is here. For decades and lifetimes we have been working hard to bring our karma group to the light. These are the people you can ‘family' in this lifetime. And for decades and lifetimes they have resisted our efforts, often in devastating ways. But we are at an energetic crossroads and it is time to make a decision that will change our lives from this moment forward. The karma ties that bind us to the people we call our family, the biological ties that we assume to also imply emotional commitment, are unraveling and with it, the dawning realization that we can no longer bring light to people who prefer to be in the dark. The illusion of family that we have held for so long through our sole efforts is crumbling beneath the weight of the darkness we thought we had to endure to fulfill this mission. In its place we will form energetic families, our 5D communities, people who are aligned with us energetically, who truly ‘love, honor, and respect' us. People who can appreciate us and who value who we are, our light, and our efforts. On an emotional level this can be difficult. On an energetic level, though, it is something whose time has come.If you have been frustrated, saddened, and even traumatized by people who do not value you, who dismiss, betray, abandon, and reject you, a change is coming. It means that you will have to abandon some dreams and goals while simultaneously welcoming others. It is not a time to grieve – you have done your best to achieve the impossible. Instead, celebrate your release from the commitments that have bound you to lifetimes of sacrifice while enjoying the change that will come from having relationships that are easy, fun, fulfilling, and joyful.read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. https://enlighteninglife.com/octobe-2025-energy-report/The first thing I noticed about October is the double 10 energy. October is the 10th month and October 2025 is a 10 (10 + 2025 = 10). Remember in numerology you break numbers down to single digits between 1 and 9. After the double 9 of September, which created completion, closure, and release, October's 10 energy means action, movement, and reclamation. 10 is the staff of action, 1, with the 0 of potential. 0 is not ‘nothing', it is no thing, pure potential waiting for us to set an intention for energy to manifest. And one more thing about October, in the midst of the action, the month opens with the moon in Capricorn, harkening back to the heavy Capricorn action we had from 2020 to 2024 with both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and the infamous Saturn/Pluto conjunction of March 2020. This is not a dire prediction of bringing back the restrictions, evil, and 3D energies of that time. Rather it's time for reckoning, not reconciliation and I believe that in October we are going to see many examples of reckoning and retribution.October's full moon on the 6th is a call to action, taking us from the heavy lessons of Virgo and Pisces in August and September to the bold, brave action of Aries with some cautions. It is not the time to go blasting off into the stratosphere; rather, it's time to make careful plans and focus on elevation, rather than escape. Take the careful planning of Virgo, together with the highest potential of Pisces and use that to plan deliberate, intentional action. Dr. Rick and Forrest explore humanistic psychology, the mid-20th century movement that redefined how therapists relate to clients. It challenged the pessimism of Freud and the mechanism of behaviorism, offering a more hopeful alternative: that our nature is fundamentally good, and our job is to let it shine through. They discuss Carl Rodgers' work, including self-actualization, conditions of worth, unconditional positive regard, trusting your experience, and the central role of the therapeutic alliance. Throughout, they focus on what you can take from these ideas into your life. Key Topics: 00:00: Intro 03:40: Humanism as a response to psychoanalysis 09:53: Humanism's core principles: inherent goodness, wholism, self-actualization, agency, and subjective experience 21:35: What does humanistic therapy actually look like? 32:46: Congruence, conditions of worth, and authenticity 40:54: History and context: post-WWII and the civil rights movement 56:09: Critiques of humanism 1:02:40: Lessons we can all take from humanistic psychology 1:13:41: Recap Support the Podcast: We're now on Patreon! https://enlighteninglife.com/disappoint-inconvenience2/When talking to clients who are preparing to make big life changes, especially those who are kind hearted, gentle, forgiving, and compassionate empaths (which includes many of you), they will inevitably say that they don't want to disappoint someone in their life, who may not like or appreciate the changes they are considering. It can be disappointing to someone who is very connected to us and who counts on us and our presence in their lives to have that suddenly disappear when we are unavailable to meet or serve their needs. But are they really disappointed, in the real sense of the word, or just inconvenienced because now what they depended on you for has to be done by someone else, or they have to do it themselves?Disappointment or inconvenience -- there is a huge difference that you should know so you make choices that serve you and your intention from an empowered, guilt-free and shame free perspective with your energy resources intact and standing on the firm platform of your energy boundaries. What is the difference between disappointment and inconvenience? For example, if I invited you to attend an event with me, was looking forward to spending time with you, thought that you would enjoy yourself, and knew that we would have a great time together., and you couldn't go, I would be disappointed because I really wanted to spend time with you. But, if I had an invitation to an event, needed someone to go with, asked you because I thought you would be available and then you cancelled, I would be inconvenienced (but say that I was disappointed) because now I need to find someone else to go with me or go by myself.Read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. https://enlighteninglife.com/september-2025-energy-report/Some months carry such a big energy signature that they announce their arrival days or weeks before they begin. I have been feeling the shift in energy as September approaches for the past two weeks. It's the reason I moved all of the furniture in my office around, move the supplies and fulfillment for my Peau D'Ange Skin Care to a bigger space, decided to paint my dining room, and make some significant life changes. Those are fitting actions in a month whose number 9 invites endings, closure, release, replacement, all to make way for beginnings. The 9 of September in the 9 of 2025 is a 9. Did you know that one of the properties of the number 9 is that any number that is a multiple of 9 always adds up to a 9? It's the only number with this property. The powerful 9, which is the anchored energy of the 8 expresses itself on September 1 which is a 10 day, new beginnings. All month we are invited to consider new potentials, allow new possibilities, be open to new perspectives, and to explore new horizons. And if this inspires and motivates you to get out of the long-term energetic doldrums you may have been in, I urge you to remember what I always say, ‘It's for now, not forever.'With the vast potential of September the one thing that can stop the expression of its energy is our quest to find the perfect solution, the one perfect thing that we can count on to work and endure forever. Nothing does that. Small steps achieve big goals and part of the small step is to do what is right and best for today, and change course when necessary.Read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. https://enlighteninglife.com/august-2025-energy-report/As August enters we are reminded that it is nearly the end of summer (in the northern hemisphere). I am glad because I am not a big fan of hot weather. But it also means that we are moving quickly towards the end of the year and for some people that can be a reminder of everything that has not happened yet or everything that they have not done. But don't despair, there's plenty of time for taking action – aligned action, that is – and August is a great time to get started. While the Universe can be the source of frustrating delay, it can also create time warps and very fast action when that's appropriate. We start August with Mercury retrograde in Leo. 2025 started with Mars retrograde in Leo and the strong Pluto/Mars opposition in Leo/Aquarius. Think of how this year began – Mars the planet of Action and ruler of Aries, the first zodiac house, opposing Pluto, the great transformer in Aquarius, the 5D sign. That was a marker for what we would be seeing all year, the light/dark challenges, the 3D/5D integration in full force, and the ongoing ascension path.August is an 8 month in a 9 year, and 8+9=17, 7+1=8. So we have a double 8 vibe this month and that's going to bring more multi-dimensional work, more material/spirit integration, more 5D energy, and more energy expansion. The number 8 is associated with money, wealth, and power, as well as rejuvenation, restoration, and balance. The key to success in August is balance – alignment and integration, intention and action, purpose and expansion. It's time to take off the rose colored glasses and be honest about your real motives and motivation. No more bland mindset theories that do not take energy into consideration. It is time to be congruent, whole, and energetically sovereign. August was named after Caesar Augustus – the great Roman emperor. If July felt stagnant and slow for you, and the heat and weird weather did not help, then August is going to feel much better, especially if you like action. 8 is the number representing infinity but it also represents the integration of human and divine, the balance of energies between material and spiritual, the action path of intention to manifestation. This is about flow, not force. The number looks like 2 circles but it also represents the torodial mobius that is the true structure of the Universe. It is not some vast open and endless plane, it is a tightly organized structure that expands and contracts under its own energetic impulses.read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. The Healing Power of Honesty: Trauma, Truth, and Relationship Repair Episode Summary: In this episode of The Human Intimacy Podcast, Dr. Kevin Skinner and MaryAnn Michaelis take a deep dive into the role of honesty in trauma recovery and relational healing. The conversation begins with MaryAnn recounting a personal traumatic experience of being held at gunpoint and how it changed her sense of safety and interaction with the world. Together, they explore how honesty with ourselves and others helps reprocess trauma, fosters emotional congruence, and sets the foundation for mental and relational well-being. The discussion expands to topics such as the danger of minimizing experiences, the impact of secrets in relationships, the importance of safe disclosure, and the difference between radical honesty and emotionally responsible honesty. They address the nuances of when, how, and why to tell the truth—whether in moments of betrayal or in everyday interactions. Drawing from clinical experience and research, the hosts emphasize that honesty isn't just about facts—it's a healing process that reconnects us to ourselves and to those we love. Key Themes Covered: Trauma and the importance of finding safety after harm Emotional congruence and the danger of self-deception How dishonesty (even subtle) erodes trust and mental health The role of disclosure in healing betrayal trauma How to be honest without overwhelming or harming others The neuroscience of honesty and emotional regulation Rupture and repair as foundations for resilient relationships Balancing rigorous honesty with emotional responsibility Resources Mentioned: Quote by David Viscott: “If you lived honestly, your life would heal itself.” Book: Facing Codependence by Pia Mellody Explores how early life experiences shape adult behavior and emotional health. Book: Dopamine Nation by Dr. Anna Lembke Highlights how honesty activates the prefrontal cortex, aiding in emotional regulation and reducing compulsive behavior. 12-Step Traditions: Emphasis on "rigorous honesty" and the adage “We are as sick as our secrets.” Peggy Vaughan's Research on Disclosure: Found that 86% of couples who openly talk about the details of betrayal stay together, compared to 55% who do not. Clinical concept: Rupture and Repair Healthy relationships aren't free of conflict; they thrive through honest repair. Therapeutic concept: Congruence (from Carl Rogers) Healing begins when our internal experience aligns with our external expression. Story from Patrick Carnes: A family laughing about a traumatic event illustrates the confusion caused by cognitive dissonance and emotional invalidation. Call to Action: Take a moment to reflect: Where might you be avoiding honesty with yourself or someone close to you? Are there unspoken truths or emotions that need a safe space to be acknowledged? Consider journaling or speaking with a trusted person or therapist about your experience. Being honest doesn't mean being harsh—it means being real. And in that reality, healing begins.

Doc, I'll just say it straight: if your sales have slowed down, plateaued, or never really started, there's a good chance this is the real reason—and it's not your strategy, branding, or follower count. In this episode, I'm teaching one of the most overlooked truths in the coaching industry. And trust me, I didn't learn this in a course—I learned it in the school of Coaching Hard Knocks. We're talking congruence. Not the kind you can fake. The kind that sits in your gut, that shapes the way your audience feels you (even if they can't articulate why they're not buying).I tell a behind-the-scenes story of one of my biggest flops—when I launched a beautifully branded offer I didn't even want to sell. Open rates? Fire. Webinar? Packed. Sales? Crickets. Why? I wasn't being what I was selling.
What happens when the life you planned stops matching the truth you're being called to live? This honest and grounded reflection is a soul-level invitation to pause, reassess, and let yourself shift. Seryna shares what it looks like to surrender to a new direction, release timelines that no longer feel aligned, and stay rooted in radical self-honesty—even when it means letting go of goals you once held close. This is about honouring what's real, not just what was written on a vision board in January. It's a reminder that rest is not a reward, truth can evolve, and you are allowed to change your mind. This Episode Is Perfect For You If... You feel disconnected from the goals you set earlier in the year You're struggling with guilt around pivoting, pausing, or slowing down You're learning to listen to your body instead of the pressure to push through You want to lead your life with clarity, not just commitment You're ready to trade hustle for honesty and choose what lights you up "Let's ask ourselves the questions about if the things that we are pursuing... are actually the things that we want to do, or if we need a little nudge and a little course correction.” In This Episode (00:58) – Why mid-year check-ins matter more than goal setting (02:14) – The difference between giving up and telling the truth (03:37) – Updates on Seryna's community space and what's being reimagined (06:28) – Summer fatigue, nervous system needs, and collective grief (08:59) – The inner dialogue around rest, shame, and productivity (10:49) – Naming burnout and reclaiming presence (12:11) – When doing the work means pressing pause instead of pushing through (14:15) – Releasing what no longer fits and choosing congruence over commitment (20:34) – A soulful invitation to check in, realign, and lead yourself forward "Congruence is such an ugly word and it is like the highest praise for me, because congruence is something that I am looking for, for myself as a standard—more than joy, more than happiness, more than success." About The Unshakeable Self The Unshakeable Self is your guide to building unwavering confidence and authentic self-trust. Success nearly killed her.Roxanne Chaput was chasing corporate glory until her SUV plummeted 90 feet off a frozen cliff. What flashed before her eyes wasn't a highlight reel, it was a haunting question:“Am I living the life I chose... or the life I was told to want?”She survived. But she didn't return the same.Summary:In this raw, soul-waking episode, Roxanne Chaput joins Yuval to unpack her journey from burnout and near-death to spiritual teacher and modern-day shaman. What does it mean to lead with both purpose and integrity in a world that often separates the spiritual from the professional? In this thought-provoking episode of the Spirituality in Leadership podcast, host Andrew Cohn sits down with John Mitchell, a leadership development consultant, coach, and fellow "recovering lawyer," to explore the intersection of spirituality, faith, and effective leadership. John shares his unique journey—from growing up in a military family with broad exposure to diverse faiths, to his current work helping leaders align their actions with their deepest values. The conversation explores the challenges of congruence—ensuring one's behavior aligns with one's stated beliefs—and the importance of interconnectedness as a guiding principle in leadership. John offers practical insights for leaders across sectors, from corporate executives to faith leaders, on how to navigate hypocrisy, foster inclusivity, and make decisions rooted in integrity. Whether you're a corporate executive, faith leader, or purpose-driven professional, this episode offers powerful, practical wisdom on navigating ethical dilemmas, embracing inclusivity, and making value-aligned decisions in complex environments. Listen now to discover how spirituality can be a strength—not a side note—in leadership. Key TakeawaysFaith and spirituality aren't the same—but often overlap.Congruence matters. Leadership credibility stems from living your values consistently, not just preaching them.Leaders need mirrors. Coaches can help by reflecting back a leader's own values—especially during moments of self-doubt or hubris. The best leaders check themselves. High-integrity leaders actively ask, “Are my actions aligned with my beliefs?”Inclusiveness grows from spiritual awareness. A belief in interconnectedness leads to more inclusive and effective leadership.Discernment is not judgment. Leaders must evaluate situations with clarity without falling into prejudice or rigidity. In This Episode:[00:00] Introduction: Faith vs. spirituality[03:00] John's childhood, military upbringing, and multifaith exposure[06:00] Spirituality through the lens of connection and nature[10:00] Diversity, integration, and spiritual evolution[13:00] Coaching faith leaders and guiding them through their own frameworks[18:00] The danger of ego and the pedestal problem[24:00] Leading with integrity—lessons from a transportation executive[30:00] Self-checks and internal congruence as a leadership discipline[36:00] Discernment vs. judgment in decision-making[39:00] Leadership in law firms and the challenge of tough decisions[41:00] Closing reflections and where to find John onlineResources and LinksSpirituality in Leadership Podcasthttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/spirituality-in-leadership/id1713365406John MitchellLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thepurplecoachAndrew CohnWebsite: https://www.spiritualityinleadership.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewcohnusa/Music: Kodiak: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4rURKtnJr3jeHvZ0IVRQCe
htps://enlighteninglife.com/june-2025-energy-report/Although May was a long and eventful month, it feels like I just finished writing the May Energy Report and it's time to write the energy report for June. I have been writing these monthly energy reports for nearly 20 years and each month is a new chapter on our ascension journey. Some of those chapters have been so challenging and others we just breezed through. You can read the monthly energy reports from 2011 onward at the blog page at enighteninglife.com/blog I will often refer to past energy reports when they are part of a new energy cycle, which is what we have this month.June is a 6 number vibe (June is the 6th month and 2025 is a 9 year, 9 + 6 = 15, 5 + 1 = 6). And we have another phenomenon this month, which we will have 4 times this year, March, June, September, and December. We have the 3-6-9 energy expansion which is what Nicola Tesla referred to as the ‘secret to the workings of the Universe'.6 is the number of service, health, well-being, and where we express our soul mission. 6 is also the number of descension, energy coming down to us, that we will use as we continue our ascension path towards enlightened mastery. Now this is not a one-time journey, it is one that we repeat many times in our lifetime. Every lesson we learn, every new understanding we align with, integrate, and embody, , is the completion of a soul mission and another step on our ascension path.I have said many times that we do not have a single ascension path; we have many smaller paths that are part of a much larger path. When we ignore our smaller successes and discount our progress because we think that we will eventually achieve ‘the ascension' where everything works out and we are finally happy, we miss the entire purpose of the process. With descension we are receiving energy that we will need to complete part of our learning, healing, growth, and enlightenment. But this is not like a chauffeured limousine ride. It is more like the box of mystery ingredients on the TV show ‘Iron Chef' and we have to try to make a meal out of substances that do not really go together. And our hero's journey begins.June's the beginning of the ‘better things on the way' that I mentioned in the May Energy Report and the karma showdown. This is not the prescribed end to karma but an opportunity for us to decide to end it. We have all of the energy tools and resources to do it this month, we just have to use them.Read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. This episode of the podcast is Chapters 16, 17, and 18 of Dancing the Tightrope, the last of the self-awareness chapters, or as I call them the “C” chapters. In these chapters, we cover courage, congruence and clarity. Over and over again, I come back to these chapters to find what's missing when I find myself stuck. My favorite quote from the Courage chapter is this one: “The beautiful thing about welcoming pressure as a catalyst is that we no longer allow the end goal to define us. Winning the game is nice, but it's not the point. The point is the opportunity to cultivate our courage, or perhaps a better word is to unleash our courage.” I've even come to call the process of raising the pressure threshold “couraging” because we are building our courage. From Chapter 17 on Congruence, I like this quote: “Like a tangled ball of roots, Rules wind their way into our guidance system, blocking the pathways to our personal truth. The interference makes it very difficult to find our voice. And here's the strangest part of all of this. We are not aware that our Rules are interfering. Because all of these Rules have been with us for so long, they feel like a part of us. As they direct us out of our awareness, our Rules feel as if they ARE us.” This quote sums up Chapter 18 pretty well: “Clarity starts with removing that which does not belong. Whether creating a simple picture for how my day is going to go or a picture for the horse on a trail or a vision for my life, the art of subtraction makes room for what is real and true. I can only afford to remove my protective armor when I've come to own my true inner strength and acknowledged my true nature.” We are nearing the end of the book! Next week, I'll share the last two chapters of Dancing the Tightrope. Because I tackled this project Frame by Frame, step by step, it's actually been fun. Hard to believe I dreaded it!
Get clear on what's fueling or draining you. Download a free energy audit: https://www.brendawinkle.com/audit In this solo episode, Brenda shares a powerful metaphor from her years as a music teacher—tuning ukuleles—to explore the deeper meaning of congruence in life, business, and leadership. Through storytelling, vulnerability, and her signature energetic lens, Brenda reveals the subtle ways we get out of alignment with ourselves and how to come back home to our truth. She opens up about: The real reason congruence creates ease Why your body gives you clues before your brain catches up How tuning your energy is like tuning an instrument—daily work, not a one-time fix The moment she realized she was out of congruence in her own business (and how she's fixing it) Her honest reflections on monetizing her gifts while staying committed to accessibility ✨ Plus: a big announcement about her brand new spiritual podcast, The Table of Woo, and an invitation to her upcoming chakra workshop!
https://enlighteninglife.com/march-2025-energy-report/March is a welcome relief from the challenging 11 energy of February. As I said in the February Energy Report, the 11 number is the spiritual initiate path and it is always challenging because we have to face our own shadows and deal with where we have been sabotaging our joy, limiting our energy, and not taking care of our needs. That awareness can be shocking and unsettling when we realize that our inability to say no, to want to get acknowledgment, and to not protect our interests is what has allowed us to become the targets for the critics, judges, toxic people, and chaos in our life. But it's time for a change and some creative being, thinking, and doing and March brings that energy into our sphere now. March is a 3 numerology (March is the 3rd month and 2025 is a 9, 3 + 9 = 12, 1 + 2 =3) and that is the number of creativity, companionship, positivity, and new connections. It's also a number that encourages more energetic integration, congruence, and learning to see ourselves as multi-dimensional beings in a multi-dimensional world. We're seeing more of that with this ascension cycle now, and this month will bring that to the forefront.March is also the end of the solar year as the Equinox on March 20 is the 0 Aries point and the beginning of a new year. While January 1 begins our calendar year, March 20 is the start of the astrological year and that is when the new year was celebrated for many millennia. This year the Equinox is a big Alpha Omega Portal, encompassing the entire zodiac from 0 Aries to 29 Pisces with all of the planets and signs represented in some form. It's a fantastic way to start our solar year with the full chorus of the universe supporting us.In March we continue the spiritual cornucopia I have been writing about for several months now with a big presence in Pisces that will see up to 7 planets and points in that sign. The expander, Jupiter, is going to make that aspect much more all-encompassing now and bring three things forward:How we interact with our spiritual energyHow we express our spiritual energyHow we use our spiritual energy in our lives especially for release and transformation, and entering our new 5D portals. And we can't forget Mars in Cancer is also going to encourage us to take action from our spiritual energy but not by becoming more spiritual. Instead, Mars wants us to use our spiritual energy to become more energetically integrated and empowered in the actions we are willing to take and to avoid getting caught up in our emotions. I know astrologers talk about Mars energy being diluted in Cancer but while that is not its best position, it is also making a strong positive aspect to all of the Pisces planets and that is helpful. And in Cancer Mars is focused on emotional energy, which is our biggest and most challenging life lesson.Read the rest of this article on the website at enlighteninglife.com Created, narrated, and produced by Jennifer Hoffman.Artwork by Jennifer Hoffman.Copyright (C) 2004-2025 by Jennifer Hoffman, all US and international rights reserved.Visit enlighteninglife.com for more information. Please note our policies regarding copyright infringement, content misuse, and theft of intellectual property. We tell our daughters to be brave, to trust themselves, to listen to the whispers of their heart… but are we doing the same? In this episode, we're talking about the tension so many of us feel—wanting to build something big, make an impact, and create wealth, while also being fully present and connected with our kids. And maybe, just maybe, the answer isn't choosing between the two, but realizing that our ambition is part of the lesson we're teaching our little ones. Inspired by Moana and Frozen 2, I'm sharing why these stories hit so hard, what they reveal about stepping into the unknown, and why we have to model courage for our kids—not just talk about it. Tune in to hear: From cringey to powerful - how modern-day Disney protagonists teach us what it means to trust ourselves against all odds The Hero's Journey story arch, the role it plays in shaping narrative, and the importance of embodying main character energy in life & business Why congruence—between what we say and what we live—matters more than anything as parents The bold moves you're resisting (and why they're EXACTLY what you need to lean into!) In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on leadership and sharing three powerful lessons I learned from a surprising encounter with a high-profile guest who revealed their true character behind the scenes. This experience challenged my perceptions of leadership and reinforced the importance of congruence, kindness, and responsibility in positions of power. Here's what I cover:Congruence is Key – Why the best leaders are consistent both on and off camera, and how authenticity builds trust.Power Dynamics Matter – How leaders can elevate or diminish others through their behaviour and why awareness of this is critical.Kindness is Leadership – The lasting impact of treating others with respect, regardless of the situation or power dynamic.Throughout this episode, I'll explore what this encounter taught me about leadership and the responsibility we all carry, whether in families, workplaces, or communities. I'll challenge you to reflect on your own congruence and the power dynamics in your life, urging you to lead with empathy and intention. If you found value in this episode, I'd love it if you could share it with someone who might benefit from these lessons.
