Did November creep up on anyone else?! There are just two months left in 2023, so it's time to end the year strong and intentional! In this episode, I share a year-end review process that you can use to celebrate your past accomplishments, identify life lessons, build self-trust, and make the most of the next two months! Year-end review questions: What intentions/goals/resolutions (if any) did you set last year? Did you stick to your resolution or intention? Did you reach your goal? What worked last year? Challenge yourself to think of 10 – 15 accomplishments and other things you can celebrate from the past year. What didn't work? Why didn't these things work? What thoughts or beliefs led you to this outcome? What life lessons did you learn? You can find the full show notes here. Have you constantly been told that comparing yourself to others is a bad thing? I disagree. We human beings are wired for comparison, so trying to banish it from our lives is a losing battle. It's natural, neutral, and not a problem unless we use comparison to put ourselves down or inflate our egos. In this episode, I share how we can instead use our brain's tendency to compare for good and as fuel for our personal growth. If you often compare yourself to others and feel bad about it this episode is for you! Reflection Questions: What, exactly am I comparing here? In what ways, specifically, do I feel like I don't measure up? What does this person have or achieved that I want? What actions did they take to achieve this or get this? What thoughts caused them to take those actions? I'm currently reading (and loving!) In this episode of High Theory, Eram Alam talks with us about shortage. A political tool, rather than a natural lack, the concept of a shortage changes the flows of goods and people across borders and space. The concept of a doctor shortage was used in the US immigration reform of the 1960s to recruit discount elite labor from newly postcolonial nations, creating the downstream effect of shortages in their countries of origin. These recruiting practices remain in effect, with a US physician workforce that is approximately 25% international medical graduates, while domestic and international doctor shortages abound. Eram Alam is an assistant professor of the History of Science at Harvard University. Her book The Care of Foreigners studies the enduring consequences of post-colonial migration from Asia to the US. We're so excited to read it when it comes out! We are each born with a unique, perfect balance of the 5 elements of nature in our bodies. Many nature-based cultures and traditions, including Ayurveda, have identified these five elements as ether, air, fire, water, and earth. As we grow up we're exposed to different challenges, climates, relationships, seasons, etc. that cause our bodies and minds to go out of balance. These imbalances lead to physical and emotional health issues. So in this episode, I talk about how to reconnect with your true nature and return your body, mind, and spirit back to balance. This week, I chat about the first two elements (ether and air) and next week I'll cover fire, water, and earth. Find the full show notes here. Fasten your Liberty Tool hardhat thinking helmets and enter at your own risk, because we're uninsured but also because Science Kristin is here to RAIN KNOWLEDGE DOWN UPON YOU. She's bringing yet more heat into ADHD learning corner as she dives into the pre-frontal cortex and how our “fickle attention” leads to the ‘If You Give a Moose a Muffin' effect, a newly-coined concept we know many ADHDers will relate to when it comes to cleaning the house. Then we're two Productive Marys as we share our super-normal quirks, almost make a new Hobby Collectors song, dish out ill-advised interview tips, and somehow still find the time to pitch a few sitcom concepts and lay the groundwork for a steamy romance novel rife with forbidden love and complicated coitus. Hello everyone, Mimir here, November 11, 2021 marked the 10 year anniversary of one of my favorite games, Skyrim. We decided to do it justice by covering the event and talking about the other great hallmarks of the Bethesda games. Also joining us is a surprise guest, Algy, who much like me loves the Elder Scrolls and Fallout Universes. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the show because this is a long one (even by our standards). What is the difference in a Baptist and a Lutheran? Is the bible infallible? What about infant baptism? In this episode, Corey and Lutheran Pastor Eric Johnson discuss the theological differences in the two denominations and find common ground. This episode has limited editing and is the most raw version of a recording SSP has ever released. The flow of this conversation was so good, we felt the organic quality of the episode had to be retained. Enjoy!Music: Epic by Twisterium via Pixbay.com

The List family was active in the small town of Westfield, New Jersey. A suburb of New York, where some of Wall-streets biggest players lived to get away from it all. The List's lived in the largest home, in one of the nicest areas of town. After an extended trip to North Carolina, the lights in the windows started burning out, and the grass was over grown, leaving the house looking abandoned. Neighbors began to wonder if the List's were ever going to return from their impromptu trip. There was even talk that something sinister had happened… Show notes Research Books Death Sentence: The Inside Story of the John List Murders, by Joe Sharky Articles and Internet Sources Newsday (Suffolk Edition) (Melville, New York), 13 Dec 1971, Mon, Page 11, 14 Daily News (New York, New York), 30 Dec 1971, Thu, Page 2, 12 The Ithaca Journal (Ithaca, New York), 04 Jan 1972, Tue, Page 25 Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, New York), 29 Jun 1972, Thu, Page 15 Daily News (New York, New York), 31 Aug 1972, Thu, Page 63 Daily News (New York, New York), 10 Nov 1976, Wed, Page 25 Daily News (New York, New York), 04 Mar 1979, Sun, Page 12 Daily News (New York, New York), 09 Dec 1980, Tue, Page 22 Daily News (New York, New York), 04 Dec 1983, Sun, Page 13 The Herald Statesman (Yonkers, New York), 21 Dec 1986, Sun, Page 40 Star-Gazette (Elmira, New York), 11 Jun 1989, Sun, Page 7 New Star-Gazette (Elmira, New York), 11 Jun 1989, Sun, Page 7 Daily News (New York, New York), 11 Jul 1989, Tue, Page 21 Newsday (Suffolk Edition) (Melville, New York),16 Aug 1989, Wed, Page 4, 5, 6,7, 17 Newsday (New York, New York), 05 Apr 1990, Thu, Page 7, 34 Daily News (New York, New York), 10 Apr 1990, Tue, Page 7 Daily News (New York, New York), 02 May 1990, Wed, Page 7 The Post-Star (Glens Falls, New York), 02 May 1990, Wed, Page 7 1971 Family Killer Breaks Silence, By, ABC News, January 6, 2006 Daily News (New York, New York), 20 Apr 2008, Sun, Page 48 Daily News (New York, New York), 25 Mar 2008, Tue, Page 16 Music Courtesy of Pixbay Intro - Airy Bells, by mariokhol Background music – Oceumene Sleeps by Kai Engel 00 officina zanchi synt bells by officina27 Cancion Triste by enrique27naveda Outro – Clip 04 intro by sscheidl Inrolude – Epic Darkness by – mariokhol6 Art by dimpledollme

Hello Darlings and Darklings! Today I bring you an affirmation meditation inspired by Athena, the Greek Goddess of wisdom, war, heroic action, weaving, and pottery. You can use these deity meditations as a way to connect with the deity it's about, as an offering to that deity, or to just invite a particular energy into your life if your practice is secular. Enjoy!Music from Pixbay.comMore from Simply WitcheryYoutubeInstagramTwitter
