Season TWO Episode FOURTEEN of the Your Story Our Fight® podcast welcomes Cambria Francesca. Life plans were sidelined when she woke up one night to an excruciating pain. A constant pain that she has now grown so accustom to that she no longer remembers what it felt like to be painless. Having a sister with SLE and a father with Discoid, Cambria's mother knew that there's 11 criteria for a Lupus diagnosis and that a low white blood cell count falls under one of them. They ran tests and confirmed, she has Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. While recovering in the ICU, after other illness had threatened her life, she used her trauma and pain as inspiration to pursue a career as a plus size model. Fast forward a little over a year and Cambria has become Plus Model Magazine's Model of the Month for their March 2016 issue. That same year, she was chosen to walk for Full Figure Fashion Week. Now, 6 years later, Cambria gets to work with brands who are inspired by the diversity of the world we live in.

How To Live In Your BLISS In this episode Lyn is in conversation with Nekisha Michelle Kee who believes when a woman lives in her BLISS (Beauty, Love, Intuition, Sensuality, Significance) she doesn’t have to sacrifice her success or happiness, she can have it all! Nekisha inspires positive change in relationships with women in leadership, from the boardroom to the bedroom. Increasing personal achievement while diminishing burn-out, conflict and overwhelm. Listen in to find out more about how to achieve BLISS and the benefits of living in your BLISS. KEY TAKEAWAYS What is BLISS? Nekisha reveals that BLISS is the code for being able to radiate high levels of attraction into your life. 'I gave up on love because I started to feel all men were the same because I was attracting the same type.' I changed my prayer from ‘send me a good man’ to ‘make me the type of woman a man will desire, be completely attracted to and want to make his wife'. When something in your BLISS is not filled up or secure it makes you doubt yourself, you will then attract someone who is of equally low energy. At the top you have BLISS at the bottom there is depression and in between there is anger, boredom, complacency and happiness. Beauty – have you found your ideal image? does it reflect who you are? You must be completely satisfied with how you look both with your clothes on and off (regardless of your shape or size) Love - the challenge with love is that most women don’t know how to receive it. It is the ability to give it in the right doses to the right people and the ability to receive it on a daily basis. Intuition - is the anchor, it’s your ability to be divinely connected and the ability to trust yourself and your intuition. Sensuality - how well are you at being a sensual woman? If you want to co-exist with a healthy masculine man you have to be the sensual feminine woman. Sensuality is how well you communicate in his language. Men don’t have sensuality; women do and it’s how well you use it. Significance - women who don’t understand their significance, don’t understand their purpose and so lack significance. You need to find out where and who you should be. When you have found your purpose, you can seek a man who is aligned with your purpose. BLISS takes work to get to but when you get there you don’t want to be at any other level. BLISS will not allow you to be where you shouldn’t be. BEST MOMENTS ‘When you don’t have anything to stand for, you will fall for anything’ ‘He wants to make you his because you are so rare’ ‘When you are radiant on the inside, there is a match between who you are on the outside and who you are on the inside ‘ ‘We begin from the inside, then you put on your BLISS clothes’ VALUABLE RESOURCES Heats Entwined Podcast The Ready Woman book by Nekisha Michelle Kee ABOUT THE GUEST Nekisha Michelle Kee Nekisha Michelle, creator of “The Ready Woman Lifestyle Brand” and the only matchmaker in the dating industry that specializes in finding soulmate relationships for professional curvy/plus-size women. She also shares valuable advice about: How our self-limiting beliefs stop us from taking action – and how she helps people overcome these beliefs How fashion can help you be confident and powerful – and how she helps women feel happier when they see themselves in the dressing room mirror The constant battle that every entrepreneur has: being in their business vs working on their business -- and the key questions that every entrepreneur should be asking themselves to ensure their businesses continue to grow How being a strong communicator as a business owner can make you more money Natasha also shares how Long Island Girl Talk, where young women collaborate to create all aspects of their own television shows, is a huge boost to their levels of confidence and self-worth. We also talk about how the WokeNFree podcast invites listeners to think about issues from different viewpoints and engages them in interesting conversations. Connect with Natasha via email, her website www.dressingroom8.com, or on social media on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. You can also listen to the WokeNFree podcast at www.wokenfree.com. Natasha’s full bio: As a New Yorker, born and raised, Natasha is used to bumping into people from all walks of life daily, which makes it easy for her to accomplish her goal of meeting someone new and learning something new each and every day. A licensed attorney by trade, Natasha held various stints in the corporate world prior to making a foray into fashion and writing. Having been a victim of bullying as a child growing up, Natasha learned to seek out fashion as a source of strength early on and actively uses it as a personal means of empowerment; because of her own experiences with bullying and her strong desire to help others within the plus size community, Natasha started Dressing Room 8 to provide a web-based resource where women can gain personal and professional empowerment through her fashion and lifestyle focused blog, consultation and coaching services. Dressing Room 8 helps women learn how to think with clarity, dress with confidence, and live with purpose. Not one to stay idle, Natasha loves to keep a full calendar. Aside from running Dressing Room 8, Natasha is an Adjunct Professor at Nassau Community College where she teaches Introduction to Women’s Studies. She is the Lifestyle Editor for Plus Model Magazine. She is also the Program Coordinator for Long Island Girl Talk, a Long Island community-based start-up program that teaches teenage girls of color how to produce, direct and star in their own television show about women’s issues in their communities. Recently, she partnered with her husband to create the new podcast WokeNFree and she is the host of Our Voices on 90.3 WHPC. Prior to starting Dressing Room 8, Natasha created the WST Feminist Blog, an open forum for sharing original content, links and creative work addressing cutting-edge women’s issues. She is also an animal lover and a big film buff. When she’s not traveling or juggling multiple projects, she likes to spend time with her husband Kahlil, cat Toby and dog, J.J. And, she always finds time to indulge in her obsession with elephants.

Madeline (Maddie) Jones is the editor-in-chief of Plus Model Magazine (PMM) and one of the pioneers of the plus size fashion industry. She is sometimes referred to as the Anna Wintour of plus size, and through her work has blazed a trail that many of us have the pleasure of following in. Maddie’s presence in the industry pre-dates the social media crazed world we live in now. From the beginning, Maddie has been using her voice to create a space for plus size women in the fashion industry. All along, she and her husband, photographer Lucas Jones, have been documenting the faces of plus size women and challenging society’s expectations of how plus size bodies should be photographed. In my own journey as a plus size model, Maddie has been there since the beginning. I did my very first test shoot with Maddie, and along the way she has supported me and guided me at every turn. Maddie has so much wisdom to share with models at any stage of their career, but she’s got an especially great perspective for women looking to launch their modeling career. Maddie’s advice is hard-hitting, straight talk about what it really takes to build a successful modeling career for yourself as a plus size woman. It’s not always an easy road, but it can be incredibly rewarding! And regardless of whether or not you wind up getting signed by an agency, Maddie has advice for all of us about how to use our voices, how to conduct ourselves in business relationships, and how to create our own opportunities as women. Key takeaways: The early days of Maddie’s advocacy for plus size women, and how PMM got its start What it takes to build a brand like PMM, and how Maddie put her publication on the map Maddie’s journey of coming out from “behind-the-scenes” and putting herself out there as an influencer Maddie’s journey as an Autism Mom The importance of being authentic (don’t try to be “the next Ashley Graham,” or anyone else!) Why you should never take things personally in your business The importance of having your own, unique point of view when creating content as an influencer How we can make a greater impact when we work together with other women, rather than just trying to advance our own image The essential steps you must take if you want to launch a successful modeling career Some reasons that you might not actually want to become a plus size model--it’s not just about being a pretty girl! Why you don’t need to become a plus size model to validate your worth, or to make a positive impact in the world Mentioned in this episode: Plus Model Magazine Maddie’s personal brand Maddie’s husband, photographer Lucas Jones Maddie’s journey as an Autism Mom Share the Body Love!
