In this episode, I talk about how fat advocate influencer Tess Holliday had come out a couple of years ago stating that she was anorexic. I don't believe her. In this video, we delve into the controversial claim made by a massive 45-year study involving 22,000 twins that suggests "Exercise is BAD for you," sparking widespread disbelief and debate. The study's assertion that regular exercise only marginally extends lifespan has been met with skepticism, prompting a closer look into its methodology, which categorized participants' physical activity levels through self-reporting, and used epigenetic clocks to assess biological aging. Despite criticisms regarding self-reporting accuracy, the study's nuanced findings reveal a U-shaped curve where both extremely low and high levels of activity could accelerate biological aging, challenging simplistic health narratives. The public reaction to the study highlights a broader societal trend towards health denialism and the search for easy health solutions, exemplified by movements like "healthy at every size." This response underscores the dangers of oversimplifying complex health issues into binary good/bad narratives, overlooking the importance of moderation and the interplay of various healthy behaviors beyond exercise alone. The video encourages viewers to adopt a holistic view of health, questioning popular narratives and considering genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors in shaping individual health outcomes. As we wrap up, the video emphasizes the importance of critical thinking in interpreting health studies and the need for a balanced, informed approach to health and fitness. It invites viewers to engage with the content, share their thoughts, and explore related topics in upcoming episodes, fostering a community of informed individuals who challenge misconceptions and advocate for a nuanced understanding of health and wellness.Support the show@andrewPFM @PrideFitnessandMovement

The 90s were no stranger to toxic ideas about what people's bodies should look like. While we may still struggle with anti-fat bias today, fortunately we also have icons like Tess Holliday. She's a businesswoman, activist, one of the world's most famous plus-size models, and Ricki's good friend! In a deeply open conversation, Tess, Kalen, and Ricki talk about the pressures that come when your weight is your brand. They talk about the visibility of being plus-size and having an eating disorder, Taylor Swift's scale scene in the “Anti-Hero” music video, and more. Plus, Tess talks publicly for the first time about a dream gig that almost happened but didn't. Please note, Raised By Ricki contains mature themes and may not be appropriate for all listeners. Today let's discuss why we have so many beliefs that don't serve us, and questions why that is. Like… The meaning of having or not having money How we make money What's the most money we think we can make What our limitations are, depending on our level of education and background, our social status We must start thinking how we can change our limiting beliefs… Like not long ago we used to think/believe that you had to be young, thin, and tall to be a model! Have a certain body type to be a ballet dancer? Take a look at Misty Copeland… she didn't believe that. Model ideals were the likes of Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell … then thank goodness contrast came along in the likes of… Tess Holliday , Colleen Heidemann, Lyn Slater and more Come on! What or who are we waiting for to break the mental mold keeping us boxed in? We're the ONLY ONES that can make things happen for us… you know why?? Because we're the ONLY ONES THAT KNOW what the hell we want? People are not mind readers that are going to come along and hand us our desires on a platter… we/YOU are the ONE that has the power withIN. Think of all the other things currently in your life (or not in your life) that you don't believe are possible for you, for whatever reason. I have some of these beliefs to work on as well, most of us do. Ask yourself this… if money didn't play a part in deciding what you could be, do, or have? What would your life be like? Go crazy here, it doesn't cost anything to imagine. Where would you work? What would your hours be? What would your commute be like, would you work from home? Where would you live, what city, state, near the beach, the mountains? What kind of house would you live in? What car would you drive? How would you dress? How much money would you make? Would you work for yourself? And IF so, doing what? Have you ever considered that? So get thinking and imagining what could be possible for you. Think of and be motivated by other women who've overcome things and broken the mold. So after we think all this up we're going to “make believe” it's already ours…. Why? Because what happens when we believe?????? Everything we want, that's what! The only thing getting in our way is our brain… so it's time to starting thinking and believing NEW things… believing what's possible for us! Look at things you've ALREADY created in your life… and just like that you can create new things, things you may have never thought were possible for you! Where would you start, what would your first step be in order to align with the true desires of your heart? You are not too nothing to go after what you want... Starting questioning and GO!! Facebook and Instagram will temporarily allow posts calling for violence against Russia and the assassination of Vladimir Putin. According to internal emails, the calls for violence against Russia and Russian soldiers will be allowed in context as proxy for the Russian military, but that won't apply for prisoners of war. Again, calls for violence are OK as long as they're only done against Russia in support of Ukraine. Plus-sized model Tess Holliday went on the "Tamron Hall Show" to discuss how her anorexia diagnosis has impacted her life. Apparently, morbidly obese people can also suffer from anorexia — which feels like a contradiction, but alas this is the world now. This week the boys discussed “plus-size” model Tess Holliday's anorexia diagnosis, Ukraine virtue signaling, and more… We started the show (00:49) with an elevator joke from Trevor & Eric's post-resignation fun. In the News (07:23) we covered Tess Holliday, a plus-size model, talking about her “battle with anorexia,” Sam Elliot's thoughts on the new Western “Power of the Dog,” and all the Ukraine virtue signaling nonsense going on. This week we're pissed off (53:52) at a woman who runs a “sex & gender” summer camp advocating for toddlers to learn about masturbation. Finally, this week in His Story (01:00:15) we learned about Thomas Paine's “Common Sense,” the Luddites, and Anne Frank's death. #mantools #remodelyourlife #makemenmanlyagain Contains paid promotion. This week join me and Arteluna Miami as we chat about how the year is going and she dives into some personal questions about me! Oh Boy!Want to make a shout out on the next video? Text to 1-833-4A-PINUPInsta: @pinnedpodcastofficial_________________About VivianCuban-American artist Vivian Estalella was born and raised in Miami, Florida in a family of strong independent women. As a little girl, she never played with dolls or toys. Instead, she preferred to spend her time coloring. She was always happier with a box of crayons or paints than a Barbie doll. Always creative, she enjoyed the arts from a very young age. At the age of 15, a trip to Mexico awakened her passion for painting. The intensely rich colors of Mexican art struck a cord and, together with her Cuban roots, formed a style that is both distinctive and uniquely vibrant. The sights, sounds, exotic tastes, and passionate people of the tropics, along with the sensuous female form, are all prevalent in her work________________For more information @artelunamiami across all social media www.artelunamiami.com________________PLEASE SUPPORTPODCAST: https://www.pinnedpodcast.comWEBSITE- https://www.misspinupmiami.com SHOP- https://www.misspinupmiami.com/shopThank you for all your support! I'm not going to sugar coat this, we took a year off to hide under our couches with our various gendered fully-legal sex workers and came back and screwed up the audio recording on our very first try. I think it may be the long-term impact of Covid, even though neither of us had Covid. That's how sinister the China virus is.Nevertheless, if you care you care to give it a whirl, Matt and I dive into the Covid lifestyle, Elliot page cutting off her breasts, err, his breasts, in order to write a screenplay, Tess Holliday claiming to be the world's first obese anorexic, SI Swimsuit diving faster toward bankruptcy with male models in its swimsuit edition, and Serena Williams next in a line of neverending self-serving documentaries about the struggles of being rich and famous and universally press-adored. It's actually good shinola, if you can make it through the intense record lag pops on the track. As always, we beg your indulgence for recording equipment and beer money via Patreon.com. On Friday afternoon, Niall spoke about plus size model Tess Holliday. She is on the cover of a glossy magazine and outspoken tv presenter Piers Morgan slammed the cover as 'dangerous and misguided'. He basically said that it was wrong to have someone who is obese on the cover in a bid to promote body confidence just as much as it is dangerous to have someone who is size zero. Tess is a US size 22 (size 28 in UK and Ireland) Do you agree with Piers? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
