We look at all the news around the league, review the games in depths, and look forward to the big matchups in week 4. We look at the controversy around the expedite review system, talk injury bug and who might be in the market come trade deadline, and kicker woes for the Atlanta Falcons. All this and much more in your one-stop shop for news, views and overreactions to all things NFL, the All Four Quarters podcast!

Juan Soto missed a game tying home run by inches as it went foul in the Mets' loss to the Padres. Manny Machado hit a grand slam. Dave Sims and Suzyn Waldman got into a disagreement about saves in NY vs saves in Pittsburgh. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about ABC suspending Jimmy Kimmel indefinitely. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees beating the Twins and the Padres beating the Mets. A number of coaches have commented, and don't seem worried, with Tom Brady's relationship with the Raiders. Aaron Glenn said ‘big ships turn slow' and they are ‘chopping wood' to get the defense improved. He also said Tyrod Taylor is not a ‘celebrity quarterback' and is just ‘one of the guys'. Baker Mayfield also talked about working with Taylor on the Browns. Gio thinks Baker is already penciled in for the NFC offensive player of the week. Kyler Murray apologized for wearing a Michael Vick jersey while posing with his dog. The Moment of The Day: Suzyn Waldman & Dave Sims battle on saves in Pittsburgh vs saves in NY. In the final segment of the show, a Bucs fan said that Tyrod Taylor has been a ‘Buccaneers Killer' every time he faced them. We did some research. He's 2-0 against them and last played them 8 years ago, so let's relax. We talked about kids laughing at ‘6-7' and tried to figure out why. A guy named Brady Cook will back up Tyrod Taylor on Sunday for the Jets.

Sal dives into a variety of topics, beginning with a fiery take on the Jets and Giants' struggles. He expresses his disappointment with Justin Fields' concussion, acknowledging it's a predictable consequence of his play style, and speculates on whether Tyrod Taylor can salvage the Jets' season. He then shifts to the Giants, who are staring down a daunting schedule, as Sal considers attending their Sunday night game against the Chiefs, weighing the pros and cons of the in-person experience against the comfort of his couch. He also briefly touches on the Mets' and Yankees' frustrating seasons and the NL East race, expressing a sense of exhaustion with the regular season and a desire for the playoffs to finally begin.
Sal broke the news that Jets quarterback Justin Fields is officially out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, raising concerns about the team's ability to compete. While the news is a significant blow, Sal pointed out that Tyrod Taylor is a capable backup who might be able to manage the game effectively. However, the update also highlighted the Jets' ongoing struggles with quarterback stability and the challenge they face in maintaining momentum with yet another change under center.

Yesterday was one of the more entertaining Giants games in a long time. Justin Fields is in concussion protocol and it looks like Tyrod Taylor is going to start this week for the Jets. Gio is taking an early look at the spreads for this week's games. Joe Burrow is getting surgery so Jake Browning will be their QB and we remembered his girlfriend wearing a skintight dress at a game once. Maybe the Bengals will want to trade for Jameis Winston. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Gio tells us his wife was bit by a spider. We heard post game sound from the Giants players after their OT loss to the Cowboys. Aaron Glenn talked about the Jets loss. Donald Trump doesn't like the new NFL kickoffs and called it ‘sissy football'. Ben Johnson was asked about the Lions running up the score on the Bears. The Moment of The Day: Gio's Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco impression. In the final segment of the day, we have two Monday night games tonight.
Hour 1 Here we are again, 2 weeks into the NFL season and the Giants and Jets are both 0-2. The Giants played prevent defense which didn't make any sense with the Cowboys having one of the best kickers in the league. Cowboys fans should be concerned that they gave up all that offense to a Giants team that normally can't seem to score. Gio wonders why they put Jaxson Dart in for a few plays when Russell Wilson was having a career game. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and we heard the TD from Wilson to Nabers with :25 seconds to play. We also heard the call of the Cowboys game winning FG. We then heard the sounds of the Jets losing to the Bills as they couldn't stop James Cook. We heard Joe Burrow go down with a serious turf toe injury. Aaron Judge homered again, but the Yankees lost to the Red Sox. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer has a stat-pack stat regarding Daniel Jones and the Colts. Gio thought the Browns and Bears would cover this weekend and both got blown out. Hour 2 Gio called the Jets performance, ‘embarrassing'. So much for Aaron Glenn and the accountability. Yesterday we watched the Justin Fields that struggled in Chicago and got benched in Pittsburgh. This was probably his worst game in the NFL. We talked about Aaron Glenn as a rookie head coach. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Russell Wilson interception in overtime. Brian Daboll sounded disappointed after the game. Aaron Glenn had a message to the team after the loss. The Colts beat the Broncos on a FG after a penalty on the previous FG that was no good. The Mets finally won a game as we heard Pete Alonso's 3-run HR in the bottom of the tenth. In the final segment of the hour, there may be an LIRR strike during the Ryder Cup. James Hudson of the Giants was flagged on four plays in one drive to start the game. Boomer said there were a lot of great throws and catches for the Giants yesterday. Hour 3 JJ McCarthy struggled last night but Boomer loved the performance by Bijan Robinson of the Falcons. A caller said Tony Romo did a great job of calling out the Jets defense during the broadcast. A Cowboys fan calls in to call the Giants the ‘g-strings'. Boomer told him his defense stinks, so stop crowing. A caller wonders how it feels to have to talk Giants and Jets every day. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the game winning kick as the Cowboys beat the Giants in OT. The Giants had over 500 yards of offense. Brian Daboll said they have to move on to next week. Malik Nabers talked about all the penalties they had. We heard Nantz & Romo on the call as the Jets lost to the Bills. Aaron Glenn talked about beating themselves. We got breaking news that Joe Burrow will need toe surgery. The Lions blew out the Bears and Ben Johnson. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is going to see Dua Lipa on Thursday at MSG. After the news of Tyrod Taylor's knee scope, BT discusses the Jets' increasingly precarious quarterback situation. With Taylor out for the rest of the preseason and his Week 1 availability in question, the Jets are left with an unproven backup crew. BT questions if the team should look outside the organization for a more reliable option, highlighting the slim pickings and the risk of relying on backups like Nathan Peterman and C.J. Beathard. He also ponders if the Giants might cut Jameis Winston, making him a potential, albeit unlikely, target for the Jets to shore up their depth.
In this segment, BT dives into the complex and often harmful world of youth sports, fueled by calls from listeners. He and his callers discuss how overbearing parents and coaches are stripping the joy from sports, leading to burnout and even mental health issues for young athletes. The conversation touches on whether natural athleticism is an innate gift or a product of hard work and ends with a quick but relevant take on Tyrod Taylor's knee injury, highlighting the importance of a solid backup quarterback in the NFL.
