We are back for another great interview in our Entelechy Series    In today's episode, we chat with Anita Gardyne, the CEO of Onēva, an in-home care platform allowing enterprises and government agencies to connect employees and their families with trusted caregivers and service providers. Onēva technology app connects FBI background check caregivers who provide in-home services like infant/child care, elder care, special needs care, pet care with individuals or companies offering their employees benefits such as these.  Anita grew up in the 80s when she went to UC Berkley to study economics & economics in Black communities.  One of the eye-opening lessons for her was seeing the disparity in neighborhoods & communities based on their color. A good example of this was despite growing up in Richmond California, which was next to Silicon Valley, her community never seemed to grow from it. She later got an MBA in economics & economics in the black community. While she studied, she also worked in technology for AT&T and later on moved up in her career to join companies such as Levi Straus, Bell & Seagate.  All along Anita had at the back of her mind how growing up, she was her family's caregiver. She had to take care of her niece and nephews who were autistic. Fast forward to years later, Anita had to stay home to raise her children while taking care of her parents, When it was time to go back to work, she tried to find a caregiver to fill her needs of taking care of her parents and her children but, she couldn't find a caregiver she trusted to look after her family.  Anita identified a gap in the homecare system and built Onēva to fill it. Onēva, brings a blend of technology (AI), emotional intelligence (EI), and Spiritual Intelligence (SI). Onēva means Trust. One of the benefits of using Onēva is that it's an employee benefits app. Through strong mentorship and partnership with Microsoft and Acrisure, Anita and her team have been able to build into the app a section where employers can add Onēva into their HR systems so that employees can benefit from having access to trusted care and in turn helps employers attract and retain employees. In addition to this, Onēva is bridging the gap between unskilled/skilled workers getting access to well-paying jobs in that the caregivers on the platform are able to set their own rates and hours, therefore creating new small business owners, and leveling the playing field.    In conclusion, Anita wants entrepreneurs to know that every founder has their own journey and every journey has lessons in the form of challenges.  You can find more information about Onēva on Onēva Website: https://www.oneva.com/ (Onēva.com) LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/agardyne/ (Anita Gardyne) Anita Gardyne Copyright (c) 2020-2022 Kirstin Gooldy

WELCOME BACK TO THE PODCAST! It has been quite some time since we have had some consistency on this podcast (and in life in general, amirite?).  I hope you are doing as best as you can, and even though quarantine is still haunting all of us, sending y’all some good ass energy. This episode is just an introduction to us.  You will get to know a few random facts about us on this episode, like who would Leslie would have on her talk show and what kinda music D had on his iPod in high school.  It was a molcajete of things man, we were really tryna give y’all a few ounces of who we are and we hope you dig it! SEGMENTS OPEN VENT: On this segment we open up about anything and everything, if we want!  We will be discussing the different things that either irked us or made us feel hella good!  Whatever goes on this segment, it’s an uncensored space to vent about anything you would like.  The vent is always open in the Sala. Today Leslie talked about some of the hurtles we all jump over when talking to lowkey ignorant family members talkin out their ass about racist shit on social media. Good shit Leslie.  Tell em how it is! Daniel talked about Adele and how she pulled up on the internets with bantu knots and Jamaican bikini top…. Mess!  She rly went all out when she could have chilled at the resort.  Smh. PUT ME ON: PMO is the segment where you get a notepad and your socials ready cuz we will be plugging everything black and brown that is dope as fuck to us!  Because if we know about dope shit, you should too! @lujotoothpolish - activated charcoal tooth polish.  Afro-Latina owned out of Newark New Jersey.  Teethwhitening services are available by appointment.  Follow @lujotoothpolish and @_sarahvega_ for more information.  TELL LUJO WE SENT YOU! @lemongals and @lupe_sweets - both based out of Richmond California, owned by someone we both know, Lupe! Please go support the pages and an entrepreneur within out community!  TELL THEM WE SENT YOU!  ;-P @dj_agana - Bay Area based graffiti artist that is changing the game up and showing us the visibility of women in the street art spaces.  Spray Queens is an international graffiti and  music festival.  UNFORTUNATELY due to the timing of the recording, the event is now over and registration is obviously closed.  Sorry about that but please follow DJ Agana and @fewandfarwomen to continue to see similar content of Bay Area women in the graffiti scene (and worldwide). LA SALA: Get comfortable cuz we will be chillin here during most of the episode.  La Sala is our virtual living room and we are out here talking about anything and everything we wanna talk about.  Every time we have a specific topic or two and will find ways of relating to each of you in some way shape or form, at least we hope so, lol!  Good energy only in our Sala, honest shit with uncensored conversation.  You love to hear it! In this Sala its just gonna be random questions about us going back and forth.  Quite the vibe. LA GAVETA: Everyone - at least everyone being us - has had a gaveta (aka, drawer) where we keep random shit that kinda doesn’t fit anywhere else.  And thats exactly what this is.  Random topics that don’t fit anywhere else. This was a short gaveta. The question was, “What was your first phone growing up? What kinda phone was it, and when did you get it?” THANKS FOR TUNING IN SUBSCRIBE HERE: https://anchor.fm/theplottwist SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram: @plotwistpodcast @diquemedia @leslietdeleon @dannny415 --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theplotwist/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theplotwist/support

Instagram- @donblak Donté Clark, born February 27 1990, a native of Richmond California, reigns as one of the most prolific writers and voices out of the Bay Area arts community. Donté is not only eclectic in the art of storytelling through the spoken word, his body language and musical presence in performance is poetry in itself. He captures the complexities of what it feels and looks like to be vulnerable within black masculinity while governed by a society of white supremacy and hyper violence amongst black youth. Graduating high school in 2008 he co-founded an arts collective called RAW Talent (Richmond Artist With Talent). Based in his hometown, Donté engaged young people in writing and performance workshops. Securing space for the youth to process their trauma and rewrite the narrative that has surrounded their community. In 2013, RAW Talent led by Donté Clark and his co-director Molly Raynor, published a written play titled, Té's Harmony. Which documents the shared experiences of Richmond youth while making parallels to the narrative of Romeo and Juliet. The writing process for Té's Harmony was published in the documentary Romeo Is Bleeding, executively produced by Russell Simmons on All Def Digital in 2017. Winning over 30 awards in film festivals all across United States, Donté has been able to travel the states speaking at high schools, college/universities and community forums about Romeo Is Bleeding and his experience with aiding young people to excel in the art community. Donté is featured in film titled Kicks, 2016, which is a tale of urban youth and the rights of passage to manhood. He has co-starred in two seasons of The North Pole show, a political comedy on docu-series about gentrification and its effects on communities of color in North Oakland Ca. October 2018 Donté published his first collection of poetry “KNOWFREEDOM” which is now available on Amazon. In this collection of original song lyrics, and short poems, Donté illustrates the struggles he experiences and observe as the black community journeys through America to Know freedom. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theactorslounge/support
