If you've kept up with the Seat Time videos, you know the Astra Offroad Handlebars I had on the Sherco were one of the parts that truly changed the way I rode the two stroke. When I got on the GasGas, I knew I also wanted to ride with the low-rise Astra handlebars. I learned the hard way that the weight and rotating mass of a four stroke changes the handling characteristics of the motorcycle, creating the need for a higher rise handlebars than I previously thought. In this video, I discuss the testing I did to find the right handlebar position for the Astra Gemini 38mm rise handlebars I'm now running on the EX 350F. I also added a few podcast snippets from Jörli at Astra on more specifics of four stroke handlebar positioning and handlebar sweep. I learned a lot during this process, and I hope you do too.The handlebar video is on the Seat Time Youtube channel and the article will be on the Seat Time Substack SOON. Liam talks about his recent FireWire seaside session and how he's been finding it on our home break - he then goes on to share his quiver, how he wants to upgrade it, and why! Will goes onto share his journey on mids and what they can do for our surfing - in having to work on slowing things down, lengthening compressions and therefore improving our style, hand positions, posture and therefore carves. “Step up” performance mids get discussed too and why they can be rad for trips or bigger days at home. We then talk about how easy it is to slip into a negative mindset around your surfing - whether it be junky waves / crowds / old injuries etc…but in coming out of those funks from looking in the mirror, appreciation and therefore flow comes back in abundance! We then share insights about how to stay motivated to be fit, well and well trimmed downstairs - that so much of it is about being kind to yourself when things slip and then, when we simply choose to - get back into what we know we can do to make our surfing lives more fulfilling all round and remind ourselves (hopefully) why it's so important to remain consistent - because surfing is worth it! Stay stoked!  Will & Liam

Ricky Russell and I first got to hang out WAYYY back in 2013 at the Big Sky XC National Championship. Crazy reminder that I've been doing this for A LONG TIME!Ricky grew up in the Pacific North West, and I REALLY want to ride my dirt bike there one day. It sounds like he's down for a guided tour. Let's see if we can talk him into it. As a professional racer, he's not extremely picky, but he does have some small adjustments that make his bike his setup. He also recommends not flipping your YZ450F upside. Solid advice if you ask me. Nutrition on race day, and leading up to it, is being talked about more and more by dirt bike racers and I'm here for it. This was a great rabbit hole for Ricky and I go down. Being properly fueled isn't as simple as grabbing the closest supplement and hoping for the best. Every riders body is different, and you have to figure out what works best for you. Hopefully you took away some nutrition nuggets, and that you want to ask more questions. And this Sunday, we'll start stoking the fires for missions and outreach by exploring how the first followers of Jesus began to spark passion for the Good News in their own communities. I can't wait to introduce you -- or re-introduce you -- to the joys of a good GIC. So ... what's your spark? What lights you up? Think on it, and I'll see you Sunday!

There's no denying that Trystan Hart is now one of the top Hard Enduro racers around the world. He's been riding for the FMF KTM Factory Offroad Racing Team since 2020, all while steadily gathering podiums, building confidence, and winning high profile events. It was fun to hear him describe himself as steady, and someone like Billy Bolt as Flashy. I very much agree! This podcast episode dug a bit deeper in the back story of Trystan and his early motocross journey. It was cool to hear that Loretta Lynn's Amateur National Motocross was once on his family's radar. An unfortunate femur injury kept that from happening, but it did give us some humorous discussions about full-body casts. Something that's also cool to see is that he recently launched a book, Hard Enduro Hero, that's now available on Amazon. I hope this book gives younger audiences a way to see they can accomplish whatever dream they have with some hard work, dedication, and staying focused on being authentic to themselves. Thank you Trystan Hart for your time! It's been a pleasure to watch you grow through the ranks of Endurocross and Hard Enduro. I've heard about the perfect rider triangle for too long these days across social media. I knew it was time to dig in and start a deeper discussion.  We also discuss what training, hydration, and nutrition looks like for a professional racer. I was deeply excited about this part of the conversation. We then wrapped up with my traditional Bike/Body/Mind questions.John Short is a super cool dude, and very down to earth. We also dive into his 2023 race program, and how he was able to put together such a cool program and schedule with Enduro Engineering, GasGas, and other sponsors. It isn't easy to jump back and forth between Hard Enduro and more traditional dirt bike racing, so it was cool to hear Toth's perspective on the different disciplines. This week The Stoked Pod goes down a rabbit hole. We have a long look at the state of New Zealand’s racing industry and learn about a community of young people trying to make a difference. They’re Boys Get Paid, the self proclaimed ‘people’s racing club’. Who are they and why are they different at all? Have a listen and find out. An open mind is recommended, especially if this isn’t typically your type of thing. Stay Stoked!

Episode 5 is here and it sits head and shoulders above the rest. We say that in no uncertain terms because it contains a real life guest. That guest? MARCUS LUSH; talkback maverick, broadcasting legend, and all round great New Zealander.Things covered range from south facing ports to drone racing and, of course, Marcus' illustrious career.Give it a listen as we try to get some momentum behind the pod. You'll hopefully find us on iTunes next week but for now, Soundcloud's the best you'll get so don't be ungrateful.Cheers as always and Stay Stoked (on talkback).
