Dr. Bass wraps up his “Lifting Without Cutting” series with a summary of non-surgical skin lifting and tightening options. For those who aren't quite ready for surgery, this series delves into non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments for milder degrees of skin laxity. While these treatments can delay surgery, they aren't a substitute for a facelift or neck lift if you have significant sagging. Explore the variety of treatments based on aging stages and areas of concern, keeping in mind that some are repeated for more noticeable results. Find out if these treatments suit you or if a facelift is the better option. Catch all episodes of our “Lifting Without Cutting” series: Episode 1 dives into how energy based skin heating creates remodeling and tightening. Episode 2 focuses on MyEllevate, a procedure performed through needle punctures for sharpening the neck, and jawline without incisions. Episode 3 discusses Ellacor, a micro-coring technology that removes a portion of the excess skin, reducing laxity while leaving no scars. Episode 4 highlights FaceTite and AccuTite, treatments that use radiofrequency energy to stimulate tissue remodeling and tightening. Episode 5 covers Sofwave, the latest advancement using ultrasound energy to tighten face and neck skin. About Dr. Lawrence Bass Innovator. Industry veteran. Sofwave is the newest generation of non-surgical tightening for the skin in the face and neck. Ideal for younger patients who aren't quite ready for a facelift, Sofwave delivers ultrasound energy to tighten skin without the need for a long series of treatments. Unlike previous energy-based treatments, Sofwave gets the job done with fewer sessions and minimal discomfort. Radiofrequency treatments typically involve a series of several treatments. While also using sound energy, Ultherapy has a different exposure pattern compared with Sofwave. Dr. Jason Pozner joins Dr. Bass in this 5th episode of our series “Lifting Without Cutting” to discuss the unique history of Sofwave and how it works. Federico, Isabel y Teresa de la Cierva hablan con Jaime Tufet, director médico de la Clínica Tufet.
Lifting the face and neck without surgery is the holy grail of aesthetic medicine. While there's no meaningful substitute currently available that can give the degree of laxity correction in the face, neck and jawline as the facelift, there are good non-surgical skin lifting and tightening treatments for mild to moderate signs of aging. Non-surgical skin treatments started with various smoothing treatments such as chemical peels. As doctors noticed the more aggressive use of these treatments created some tightening as well, the idea of developing a standalone skin tightening treatment in and of itself piqued their interest. In the 1990's, there were attempts to use lasers and other infrared light sources to tighten skin, but it wasn't until the early 2000's with the introduction of Thermage and fractional laser treatments that the modern era of non-invasive skin treatments emerged. Through trial and error, doctors discovered that it's safer and more effective to treat with these energy devices over time rather than do one really aggressive treatment. More recently, the FDA has cleared ultrasound treatments Ultherapy and Sofwave for lifting and tightening the skin. Today, energy can be applied beneath the skin, too, with treatments like FaceTite, which delivers radiofrequency energy. About Dr. Lawrence Bass Innovator. Industry veteran. Although relatively small, the eyes are the first area of the face to show changes, and have a big impact on one's appearance. When considering which procedure to have for the eyes, first identify your specific concerns: is it volume loss, crepiness underneath the eyes, crow's feet, low brow position, or fat bulging causing bags beneath the eyes? There's no meaningful substitute for eyelid surgery, but non-surgical treatments are useful for certain concerns around the eyes. Botox and fillers, for example, can raise the brow and treat crow's feet and frown lines, and chemical peels can treat crepiness around the eyes. But when you notice the upper eyelid skin hooding, a lower brow position, or bulging fat pads, it's time for a surgical approach. Facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Bloom joins Dr. Bass to discuss the full range of treatments for these changes around the eyes. About Jason Bloom, MD Located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Dr. Jason Bloom is a double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. As we hit the big 4-0, we start to notice subtle changes to our bodies, our skin, and our faces. Our lines and skin tone don't lie – even if we do! Whether we're raging against aging or choosing to ‘age gracefully' we must admit, age is more than just a number to us. We've tried treatments, facials and lotions & potions but it really comes down to facial structure to really support our aging skin. Andrea Fairborn – R.H.N, has been in the wellness industry for over 20 years. She is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Certified Holistic Facialist, Reiki practitioner and a Face Yoga and Pilates instructor. She's joining us to talk about the subtle and not so subtle changes we can experience by doing a little face yoga and an ancient practice called Gua Sha. It does take time and practice but for those who want a natural approach to tighter skin, you'll want to tune in. Our lines tell us something about our past and about what's happening in our body. It's important to understand that because they are a map to our health. But we don't want to erase our lines completely. We want to look healthy, not impossible. Have a listen and if you're interested in learning more and experiencing how facial yoga and Gua Sha can work for you.

Today, we have Clint Carnall, CEO of HydraFacial to share an extraordinary story of resilience, creativity, and action in a very short period of time. Clint’s company was one of the many companies that were amassing tens of millions of dollars in revenue, pre-pandemic. Now at zero revenues, they opted to go radically generous and thoughtfully aggressive. This is a legendary and inspiring example of how an entrepreneurial team scaled to meet any challenge, even the greatest challenge frankly that any of us have faced in our lifetime. The HydraFacial Ecosystem HydraFacial, as Christopher described it “is a company that is a part medical procedure, part beauty spa-like experience.” Clint, on the other hand, describes their company as a company built on “partnership.” They are not a “or” company, rather an “and” company, considering hotels, spas, medical physicians as partners rather than competitors. “Absolutely, no matter how good the painter they are, everybody needs a clean canvas. They think about HydraFacial like giving these physician med spas a clean canvas.” - Clint Carnell Clint continues to describe how their company operates in an ecosystem of physicians and nurses and consumers spas, hotels, etc and how this business model helped them to drastically grow the business. From Top-Tier to Zero Revenues A few weeks ago, Clint’s company HydraFacial were on a growth tier, serving different regions worldwide. They were on their A-game until Covid-19 struck their business. Clint shares how he witnessed their markets in China, Japan, Taiwan, and the rest of the world shut down. However, Clint shares why this is an exciting time to be creative and to brush it off and take off. “I say it is a creative time. You know, it feels like an ambush. You are walking along and things are fine and then something hits you out of nowhere that you couldn’t expect. We are a little stunned. We have to brush ourselves off, were up and back, and ready to go.” - Clint Carnell Finding Opportunities Amidst Crisis Clint believes that good companies and executives, as well as creative entrepreneurs, have the capacity to make today as ‘creative times.’ CEOs all over the world have to make hard decisions, especially when you go from that kind of growth to almost zero revenue overnight. “The things that made us good executing the way up were the same things that are serving us during these challenging times and so strategy, but more importantly, solid execution.” - Clint Carnell To hear more about how a category queen company created three new lines of business in a matter of weeks after their core category collapsed to no fault of their own and for more information about Clint, download and listen to this episode. Dr. Diamond talks about his different facelift techniques and what is the new 2015 lift. We also discuss misconceptions about fat and some of the common problems people have after procedures such Kybella, Thermage and other skin tightening devices used in the neck area. Eliminating fat will make you have a facelift sooner, according to Dr Diamond. The area under the chin and neck is a misunderstood area. A common problem he sees after liposuction,Thermage or Ulthera is that the patient's necks is more wrinkled and creppy. Most people with aging faces do not have any excess fat. Consumers need to be very careful about these treatments.
