NAD, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is essential for key functions in the body, including DNA repair, cellular metabolism, and the regulation of circadian rhythm. Through NAD injections, you can significantly boost metabolism by enhancing your body's ability to convert food into energy more efficiently. Not only does this help with weight loss, but it also aids in insulin regulation and cellular health, making NAD injections a powerful tool for those with insulin resistance or metabolic concerns.Dr. Kristen explains how NAD injections improve brain function by clearing brain fog, reducing inflammation, and even offering neuroprotective benefits that may help prevent diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia. Although relatively small, the eyes are the first area of the face to show changes, and have a big impact on one's appearance. When considering which procedure to have for the eyes, first identify your specific concerns: is it volume loss, crepiness underneath the eyes, crow's feet, low brow position, or fat bulging causing bags beneath the eyes? There's no meaningful substitute for eyelid surgery, but non-surgical treatments are useful for certain concerns around the eyes. Botox and fillers, for example, can raise the brow and treat crow's feet and frown lines, and chemical peels can treat crepiness around the eyes. But when you notice the upper eyelid skin hooding, a lower brow position, or bulging fat pads, it's time for a surgical approach. Facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Bloom joins Dr. Bass to discuss the full range of treatments for these changes around the eyes. Working on the fabric of the skin itself does a lot to improve and rejuvenate our appearance when we're in our fifties, sixties, and seventies. Preventive measures when we're in our twenties, thirties, and forties delays when we have to address the big aging features and preserves our skin at its youthful best. We're back this week with an industry visionary who has spent the last 10 years leading marketing and training efforts in the Aesthetic Industry. After business school, Drew Fine spent 10 years at Eli Lilly honing his craft in Diabetes marketing before moving to Galderma, where in the course of his nearly 7 years there as VP of Marketing, he led multiple launches of new FDA approved products, played a major role in the development of GAIN, and in many ways, masterminded the rise to dominance of the Restylane, Dysport and Sculptra brands under the ownership of Nestle Skin Health. From there, he moved to Allergan as VP of Marketing for the Facial Injectable Portfolio for nearly two years where he had his hands in Juvederm, Botox and AMI marketing efforts. But now, he's taking on a whole new challenge…. At the start of 2023, Drew was named the Chief Commercial Officer at Advanced MedAesthetic Partners. Since its inception in October '22, AMP has experienced rapid growth, scaling from 7 to 21 practices in only a few short months. Why? Some may lump AMP into the same category as traditional “Private Equity,” but as Drew can attest, their model is different. They come alongside successful practices and partner for the long haul. His analogy of the Marriott Autograph collection is a good one- great practices get to keep the very essence of what makes them successful and unique in their local markets, much like the Autograph hotels, but they get to reap the benefits of having a sophisticated, structured corporate partner in the background who oversees the legal, technical, compliance and HR operations much like Marriott. It's truly the best of both worlds! AMP is led by Nicole Chiaramonte, a veteran entrepreneur who was a multi-Aesthetic clinic owner prior to taking the CEO reins. She and Drew share a similar vision to create a culture of appreciation, maintain a strong focus on the people who make up the business, and to be a source of value for both owners and their staff as they transition to the AMP family. AMP has assembled a leadership team with the right balance of aesthetic experience and outside perspective, and their vision for the company stays true to the goals of the industry: putting patients, people and practices ahead of profits. Drew has been an advocate for solid training, something he focused on at both Galderma and Allergan, so it's no surprise that a key part of AMP's strategy is offering best-in-class training to both Providers and Staff. From the AMP fellowship to protocols and processes, employees at any AMP-owned practice have access to learn and grow within the organization. From Drew's perspective, one of the benefits of partnering with AMP is the opportunities for staff. As the organization continues to scale, it unlocks the potential for regional directors and trainers, corporate and field positions that just aren't an option in a privately-owned practice. To hear Drew talk about the industry and where it's headed is part of his magic. He sees the chess pieces before others know a game is even being played. What's missing in our industry? In his opinion (and we share it here at FTR!), it's about technology. First, it's automating the lead gen to booking process so that patients can find practices anytime from anywhere, keeping the store front open 24-7 without the expense of human capital. It's offering capabilities for patients to assess their own needs, buy what they want, book and come in without human intervention. Second, it's data mining. It's using data in sophisticated ways to make solid decisions for the practice, and at the scale of AMP, their access to large data sets across all geographies creates a serious advantage when it comes to Amplifying the Aesthetic Industry! Hello, and welcome to Beauty and the Biz where we talk about the business and marketing side of plastic surgery, and what happens if something happens to you. I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of Your Aesthetic Practice – What your patients are saying, as well as consultant to plastic surgeons, to get them more patients and more profits. Now, today's episode is called "What Happens if Something Happens to You? — with Lawrence B. Keller, CFP". Life happens. Your house can burn down. You can tear your ACS in a skiing accident. You can fall off a ladder and be off your feet for 6 weeks (those are just a few things that have happened to other surgeons I know). So, to get you clearer answers for how to protect yourself when you're not able to generate revenues like you used to, I interviewed an expert. In this week's Beauty and the Biz Podcast, Larry Keller, founder of Physician Financial Services, offered straight forward advice for you to set yourself to win no matter what happens. For the past 31 years, he has worked with surgeons and physicians on income protection, wealth accumulation and asset protection. He offered great pearls for covering yourself if/when life goes sideways. I think you'll find this helpful on what happens if something happens to you. Visit Larry Keller's Website P.S. In today's episode, we're doing a deep dive into the world of dermal fillers. There are many FDA-approved dermal fillers available at medical spas, including the Juvederm family, Restylane family, RHA collection, and more. Not all dermal fillers are created the same. There are fillers made with hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA, Belotero, Revanesse Versa), calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), poly-l-lactic acid (Sculptra), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) (Bellafill), and autologous fat (Renuva). They all have different characteristics and have been created to restore volume, balance the face, and provide a more natural and rested look. Join us in today's episode as we talk about the science behind dermal fillers, the difference between the FDA-approved dermal fillers currently available, and how we feel about them as licensed naturopathic doctors. In this 2nd Floor throwback episode, Kenny talks with Eveline Charles; she is a Canadian hairdresser and businesswoman in the beauty salon and day spa industry. Eveline Charles enrolled in Beauty School immediately after high school in 1973. She began cutting hair professionally in 1974, and ten years later opened her first salon, 'Bianco Nero' in Edmonton. During the 1980s and early 90s, Charles established Bianco Nero as a premier Edmonton beauty salon. At the forefront of the day spa movement, in 1995 Charles expanded the location to include a full service day spa. A second Bianco Nero salon and spa was opened in West Edmonton Mall in 1998, and it was during this period that Charles stepped out from behind the salon chair to focus entirely on developing the business. The business was then rebranded to 'EvelineCharles' in 2000 and has since expanded throughout Western Canada. Today, EvelineCharles Salons & Spas has 4 locations in Edmonton and Calgary. A complete range of beauty services are offered, including modern hairstyling, colouring, highlights, manicures & pedicures, facials, massage, hair removal (waxing), and wedding packages. Specific locations in Edmonton and Calgary offer their Beauty MD services of laser hair removal, Botox, Restylane, chemical peels, photo rejuvenation, skin resurfacing, leg vein treatments, lip enhancements and more. Furthermore, In 2005 Charles opened her first EC Academy a beauty institute in Edmonton, Alberta offering Cosmetology, Esthetics and Makeup Artistry courses. In 2010, she opened her second Academy location in Vancouver, British Columbia, which was closed due to funding. She was set to open a third EC Academy location in Calgary in early 2011. Phrases like “50 is the new 30” are popular these days but is there basis in fact? Dr. Bass discusses how lifestyle changes in the past few decades and the ascendance of non-surgical techniques in plastic surgery –often termed aesthetic medicine –have transformed how we look at a given age. These changes have also transformed our expectations of how long we will be able to stay looking young. Botox, injectable fillers like Restylane and Juvederm, energy based devices like lasers and advances in skin care (cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical skin products) comprise the bulk of what's been happening in aesthetic medicine. Dr. Bass discusses the role of each, what age is a good time to start and what a combined program of care can produce.
Injectable fillers like Restylane, Juvederm and others are a mainstay of facial rejuvenation and have many additional uses for enhancing the youthful face –lip augmentation, cheek augmentation, chin augmentation and liquid rhinoplasty being a few examples. Dr. Bass and guest expert dermatologist Dr. Michael Gold discuss the role of fillers along with some of the trends in new fillers coming to market. Of course, they review the history of fillers to start so you know where we're going and where we've been. With so many fillers available, how should you choose the right one? More important, how should you pick the right doctor for your injectable treatments? What should you look for? Stream the episode to find out how to get the most out of fillers now and as new fillers become available. Be sure to check Dr. Bass's blog for more detail about fillers, the history, trends in new fillers and how to pick a doctor for injectable filler treatments: https://drbass.net/so-many-new-fillers-so-little-time/
Injectable fillers are not surgery, but plastic surgeons use injectable fillers every day for facial rejuvenation and enhancement. Dr. Bass discusses the history of fillers and shares where we've come since the beginning of the modern era of injectable fillers. Starting with Restylane and Juvederm along with newer FDA approved injectable fillers, there is a growing role for correction at all stages of facial aging. The progressive volume loss that occurs in the face with aging is mostly treated with injectable fillers. What specific features are treated with fillers? What is the role of liquid facelift and non-surgical rhinoplasty? Will I look distorted or unnatural? How should I select which filler to use? What should I look for in an injectable provider? Let Dr. Bass's common-sense perspective empower you to get the most from injectable fillers and understand the playing field. _____ FALE CONOSCO . _____ CONTRIBUA COM O MAMILOS Quem apoia o Mamilos ajuda a manter o podcast no ar e ainda participa do nosso grupo especial no Telegram. E baixar o e-book do Prêmio. Our faces communicate so much – contentment, glee, sadness, fear, and excitement. Yet so many of us agonize over the way our faces look. We might wish for a smaller nose, different colored eyes, fuller lips, or a better complexion. There are many industries devoted to preying on the insecurities we have about our face – some that offer invasive treatment, some that are scams. Dr. Mark Lim, a doctor at Halley Medical Aesthetics, shares more about Halley's Baby Skin Healer Trio, and how this 3-in-1, anti-ageing treatment can help to rejuvenate our skin, making us look more youthful. There are a variety of treatments available on the market to help improve our skin quality. Each treatment has it's pros and cons, and hence it makes sense to combine them. Halley's Baby Skin Healer Trio is a combination of the Restylane Vital Light Skin Booster, the Rejuran Skin Healer, and a bit of micro-Botox. The Restylane skin booster volumizes and hydrates the skin, with a more immediate result while the Rejuran Skin Healer stimulates tissue regeneration and wound healing, with delayed and sustained effects. The micro-Botox works to tighten pores and reduce oil production. Putting these three treatment methods together is sure to give you superior results In this podcast, Dr. Mark Lim also covers the following: • What the Baby Skin Healer Trio is • Is there downtime after the Baby Skin Healer Trio • Are there any side effects to the Baby Skin Healer Trio treatment • Is it okay to be exposed to the sun post-treatment • Who is the Baby Skin Healer Trio for For more information on medical aesthetic treatments, follow Halley Medical Aesthetics on: • Facebook • Instagram • YouTube Learn more from the doctors at Halley Medical Aesthetics! Aesthetic injector Julia shares her deep expertise with plumping and reshaping the lips with fillers, which of the Juvederm & Restylane products are her favorites, and why you shouldn't be afraid of getting your lips injected if you're in the care of a trained, experienced injector. She covers the latest trends including the Instagram-famous Russian lip technique (spoiler alert, it's not a thing), the “lip flip,” how to avoid the “duck lips” look, and the refreshing new direction toward natural definition instead of just volume. Hear why Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Vollure, and Restylane Kysse are Julia's favorite products to use and how she uses them differently to achieve the results her patients are asking for. She takes us through potential side effects, the ways she helps “swellers” avoid swelling, and the secret trick the LJC team uses to stop bruising before it starts. You'll learn what a typical lip filler treatment will cost, things to avoid the night before your appointment and the day after, and what to expect during the procedure. Julia answers the number one question about lip injections and details the innovative options available at LJC for preventing pain, including ProNox, numbing cream, nerve blocks, or the handheld vibrating device used to distract your nerves from sending a pain signal. Whether you are just considering lip injections or don't know what you'd do without your routine lip filler fix, this conversation with Julia is essential listening for anyone interested in lip injections. Most people focus of the facelift when they think of plastic surgery, and rightly so as it is still the main reset for facial aging. Still, there are several decades of facial aging before a facelift is indicated. During this time, a plan of treatment is needed to correct the earlier aging changes taking place, as well as to maintain appearance and prevent or slow the onset of facial aging. In fact, non-surgical treatments of the face have become by far the predominate treatments being provided these days. There are non-surgical modalities that are used in concert to create the desired anti-aging and rejuvenation appearance goals. Medicated skin products, laser and energy based treatments and injectables like neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau) and fillers (e.g. Restylane, Juvederm and a growing list of others) are mixed and matched based on what features are aging and the preferences and lifestyle limitations of the individual to prevent and restore early facial aging. Given all the options and the range of aging changes encountered in people aged 30, 40 and beyond, Dr. Bass explains how a plan should be constructed in partnership with an experienced plastic surgeon who has a full range of options, surgical and non-surgical, available to patients.
