My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Francine Pozner-Ehrenberg, author of the book America's Candidate. Francine is an attorney and the owner of Ehrenberg & Associates Consulting Group. She is the author of the suspense novel, “America's Candidate,” which is available on Amazon. Francine was a Major in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General's Corp. serving for over 12 years. During a deployment to Albania in the war-stricken Balkans, as part of Operation Cornerstone, she served as the advisory liaison between civilian officials and multinational military forces involved with the operation. Ehrenberg graduated from Rutgers Law School and is also a graduate of the Civil Affairs Advanced Course at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg. She has experience in Civil-Military Operations (CMO) and extensive work as a liaison between civil and military authorities in foreign international affairs. Additionally, she was an Assistant Prosecutor in Bergen County, NJ. She has handled numerous high-level, complicated Major Financial Crimes, Securities Fraud, Money Laundering, Medicaid Fraud, Health Care Fraud and Mortgage Fraud cases. In her book review, Tina Hogan Grant, guest-host for Online for Authors stated: America's Candidate was an enjoyable read written from multiple points of view which I liked. Each character was well defined and had their own unique voice. I found the synopsis for this book intriguing and wanted to know if Annie and Amir's idea would be successful. What I didn't expect, were the many twists and surprises along the way which added to the story. This was the author's debut novel and I think she did extremely well. I'm looking forward to her next one.  Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1 Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Francine Pozner Ehrenberg IG: @enrenberg_author All Author: allauthor.com/author/ehrenberg1/ Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/book/show/211030608-america-s-candidate X: @jagdag33   Purchase America's Candidate on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/40hHRDL Ebook: https://amzn.to/3ArCwiq   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   #francinepoznerehrenberg #americascandidate #politicalfiction #mystery #terimbrownauthor #authorpodcast #onlineforauthors #characterdriven #researchjunkie #awardwinningauthor #podcasthost #podcast #readerpodcast #bookpodcast #writerpodcast #author #books #goodreads #bookclub #fiction #writer #bookreview *As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Hello, and welcome to Beauty and the Biz where we talk about the business and marketing side of plastic surgery, and offsetting your overhead. I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of Your Aesthetic Practice – What your patients are saying, as well as consultant to plastic surgeons, to get them more patients and more profits. Now, today's episode is called "Offsetting Your Overhead — with Jason Pozner, MD". It's common for surgeons to take out a huge loan and do a build out of their dream practice but then the bills to pay for all of it start coming in. They quickly notice when the OR is idle and the exam rooms are empty, that's costing them money. It's an uncomfortable feeling. Should they bring on another surgeon to help cover the costs? Should they hire a nurse injector to bring in more revenues? Should they get more creative? In this Beauty and the Biz Podcast episode, I interviewed Dr. Jason Pozner, a board certified plastic surgery with 30 years experience of learning and training on the world's most advanced plastic surgery procedures, laser treatments and skin rejuvenation treatments. Dr. Pozner is the founder of Sanctuary Plastic Surgery and co-owner of Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center in Boca Raton, FL. He has experienced all the above scenarios. From expanding to almost going bankrupt to bringing in others to help (some good, some horrendous) and he finally found a balance that works. Dr. Pozner dropped so many pearls, you want to hear this. This episode of “Is that a Fact?” is part two of a two-part episode marking the 10th anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on Dec. 14, 2012, when a gunman murdered 20 first graders and six adults. If you haven't listened to part one, in which we interview New York Times feature writer and author of the book, Sandy Hook: An American Tragedy and the Battle for Truth, we highly recommend that you do that first. In part two, we speak with Lenny Pozner, father of Noah, the youngest victim at Sandy Hook. Pozner knew early on that the hoaxers' movement would be widespread, lasting and harmful. So, he chose to fight back on behalf of his child and other victims. “Noah's story will always need to be told because there'll always be someone misusing it,” he said. “I knew that I needed to do everything that I'm able to do to help debunk, to help clarify, to tell my story as best as I can, which really is just telling Noah's story.” Over the two episodes we explore the aftermath of Sandy Hook and how what seemed an aberration of untruths would instead be a bellwether for a shift in the country's public discourse, where conspiracy theories are a common element of tragic events. We also discuss how victims' families have fought back against the lies and harassment and brought about lasting change.Additional Reading:HONR Network

From the big lie to Bill Gates's supposed Covid vaccine microchips, the internet loves a conspiracy theory. In this conversation, Kara Swisher revisits one that is almost a decade old: that Sandy Hook was a hoax. After a shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary School killed 26 people, including Noah Pozner, his father, Leonard Pozner, began seeing online musings that the tragedy was a production of crisis actors and part of a scheme to attack Second Amendment rights. The conspiracies were rampant on Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, WordPress blogs and YouTube videos — and they were amplified in particular by the far-right broadcaster and conspiracist Alex Jones on his media outlet Infowars.Kara asks Pozner why he “respected the possibility that people had questions” about the massacre and how he engaged with Sandy Hook deniers. She and Pozner cover the lawsuits that he and other Sandy Hook parents are pursuing against Jones. And they discuss the responsibility borne by platforms like Facebook and Twitter, which hosted Jones for so long. As Pozner points out, “The focus for all of these platforms is growth and expansion. They really don't want to deal with the cleanup at all.”You can find transcripts (posted midday) and more information for all episodes at nytimes.com/sway, and you can find Kara on Twitter @karaswisher.

In Francia è pubblicato dalle eleganti edizioni Verdier, Gallimard, Lettès e La Fosse aux ours. Things began to unravel in the late 1980s -- the momentum built after President Ronald Reagan delivered these words at the Berlin Wall: The wall did come down two years later, and two years after that, the Soviet Union came to an end. Watching it all, from a front-row seat, was high-profilpe Soviet journalist and broadcaster Vladimir Pozner, who was also a freqeuent guest on American television, largely because in his youth, he spent a lot of time in tghe U.S. abd vecame fluent in English.

Jennifer Pozner comes out swinging as she takes aim at the ''Reality TV'' industry and its ever-growing universe of so-called ''harmless'' shows in her book REALITY BITES BACK: The Troubling Truth About Guilty Pleasure TV, published by Seal Press. Pozner uncovers sexism, racism, classism, stereotyping, violence against women, phony psychological help and what really drives the content of TV we passively consume for entertainment. This is an important book, fun to read, and what Library Journal has determined ''an essential read.'' Pozner's research and analysis are mind-blowing, but you really have to hear Jennifer Pozner in person to understand the passion and knife-sharp wit she brings to her work.

What is the true cost of Chevron?  At http://truecostofchevron.com/, we read that "Chevron shareholders were given a full account of the true costs of Chevron's global operations by a delegation of representatives of Chevron affected communities from the across the nation and around the world. Outside supporters filled the entryway, closing Chevron's front gate with a vibrant rally. Representatives from Nigeria, Ecuador, Richmond and the Philippines, were joined inside by those representing communities from Burma, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Alberta to present to shareholders an alternative annual report, The True Cost of Chevron." On this edition of Tell Somebody, I talk with Antonia Juhasz, principal author of the alternative report. And, in a blog on the Women in Media and News website, WIMN founder and Executive Director Jennifer L. Pozner asks Will Media Report Dr. George Tiller’s Murder as an Act of Terrorism?  http://www.wimnonline.org/WIMNsVoicesBlog/?p=1264 I talked to Pozner about media coverage of Dr. Tiller's murder last week and about media coverage of related domestic terrorism generally.
