 MF Doom 1971-2020 1/4/2021 - In a crazy election year with  Covid lurking behind every door,  we, unfortunately, lost a true champion in the lyrical arena. When Yassin Bey does a tribute in your honor giving shots up for your contributions to hip-hop you know you've done a lot. It's your favorite Emcee's favorite Emcee MF Doom, who passed away suddenly on the day historically known for mask-wearing, Halloween October 31st, 2020. The year the pandemic started. With a gifted style of delivery, full of double entendres and multisyllabic rhymes, Doom was able to layer a story between multiple characters and be quirky, reflective, funny, and engaging without the need for fake promotional bullshit to usurp his many talents. Thom Yorke of Radiohead said on his tweeter account "the way he put words was often shocking in its genius, using a stream of consciousness in a way I’d never heard before". Did you know that MF doom dropped an album with the alchemist in September 2020? Here's the link to Masked Mouth.  And, I don't know the dates but there is talk that there WILL be a MadVillain part two coming. At some point.  Let's keep our fingers crossed it's sometime soon. They have led 88% of all laps here! Basically, they have conquered the Yas Marina Circuit in the hybrid-turbo era. Mercedes have been so competitive and dominant in the 2020 Formula 1 season that they even won a race with the W10 (last year's car) last weekend in Sakhir. Ya casi en fin de semana de Gran Premio, de nuevo, el equipo del Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 (hoy con John René Montes, Abel Caro e Iván Fernández) analiza a fondo, en el segundo episodio de la semana, todo lo que dio de sí la segunda carrera en Austria, que fue mucho y bueno. Una carrera muy distinta a la de la semana anterior, a pesar de que la pista era la misma y las condiciones climatológicas, muy parecidas. La salida y la primera parte de la carrera. La salida fue una de las diferencias. La clasificación con lluvia dejó una parrilla muy distinta y la propia salida también lo fue. Si la semana pasada la salida fue limpia y los abandonos, 9 en total, se produjeron por fallos técnicos en su mayoría y a partir de la vuelta 17, en esta ocasión 2 de los 3 abandonos de la carrera se produjeron en la salida, y por un toque, entre los dos Ferrari, que debieron abandonar. Este choque provocó un coche de seguridad, el único de la carrera, que se marchó en la vuelta 4. Sainz, que había luchado en la salida con Verstappen, no consiguió superarle y, tras el coche de seguridad, perdió también la posición con Bottas y Albon. No había posibilidad de igualar el rendimiento de esos coches. Sin embargo, durante toda la carrera, mantuvo unas interesantes luchas con los Renault. Por cierto, que el tercer abandono de la carrera, por fallo técnico, fue uno de los Renault, el de Ocon. Una gran estrategia de Mercedes. La primera parada en la cabeza de la carrera la hizo Verstappen, en la vuelta 25, quizás un intento (fallido) de undercut a Hamilton, que se mantuvo en pista hasta la vuelta 28. Aunque desde el equipo dijeron que fue para salvar un posible intento de undercut de Bottas al propio Verstappen. Bottas, por su parte, alargó aún más su stint, hasta la vuelta 35, para asegurarse de tener gomas más frescas que Verstappen para el final de la carrera. Estrategia que dio sus frutos, pues finalmente pudo pasarle en la vuelta 68, con un adelantamiento por fuera que demuestra la calidad del finés y el ritmo imparable del Mercedes. Norris, un piloto que (esperemos) dará mucho que hablar. Lando Norris, que firmó un tercer puesto en la carrera de la semana pasada, puede estar también más que satisfecho con su quinto puesto de esta semana, tras los Mercedes y los Red Bull. Su trabajo, sus excelentes últimas vueltas, le valen comentarios largos y tendidos de los analistas del Podcast. Las actuaciones de ambos pilotos del equipo McLaren pero, en especial, hasta ahora, las de Norris, han conseguido que los de Woking se coloquen, tras dos carreras, en el segundo puesto del mundial de equipos. Lo cierto es que, siga como siga este Campeonato, nos estamos aficionando a ver la última vuelta del piloto británico, siempre épica por su capacidad de apretar y ganar posiciones en los últimos segundos. Memorable también lo de Sainz que, a pesar de sus problemas técnicos, terminó en zona de puntos y logró la vuelta rápida de carrera y el punto que otorga. Con neumáticos recién cambiados, sí, pero también acababa de cambiarlos Verstappen y no pudo conseguirlo. Pérez, muy fuerte en Styria. Racing Point, reclamación de Renault admitida a trámite. Para la carrera, Sergio Pérez salía con su Force India desde el puesto 17. Pero había prometido una gran remontada. Y cumplió: en la vuelta 15 ya pasaba a Norris, demostrando el gran ritmo del Racing Point y el excelente estado de forma del piloto. Sin embargo, un toque con Albon en las últimas vueltas, que dañó su alerón delantero cuando aspiraba incluso al podio, provocó que Norris le pasase en la última curva. Terminaría la carrera en sexta posición, justo delante de su compañero Stroll. La verdad es que el Racing Point, al que han apodado el “Mercedes rosa” por su gran parecido con el coche del año pasado de Mercedes, se ha mostrado muy fuerte desde la pretemporada. Sin embargo, su enorme parecido, como decimos, con el W10 ha molestado al resto de equipos de la zona media. Ahora ha sido Renault quien ha elevado una queja contra Racing Point. Una reclamación que ha prosperado. Los franceses argumentan que, entre otras partes, Racing Point ha copiado los conductos de refrigeración de frenos delanteros y traseros, partes que no se pueden copiar ni comprar dentro de la F1. Si finalmente se da la razón a Renault, el cambio, previsiblemente, terminará afectando también a las suspensiones delantera y trasera… es decir, casi tendrán que hacer un coche nuevo. Un movimiento muy inteligente por parte del equipo galo. Así que, en espera del Gran Premio de Hungría, tendremos noticias para no aburrirnos. Esperemos que todo sea por el bien del espectáculo.
