This episode was actually recorded during the first 40 minutes of the previous Episode #37 when Cole shared his trip to Churchill in the Arctic Circle photographing Polar Bears. We got sidetracked and had an interesting discussion about some of the amazing "Wild West" type characters that lived here in our part of Montana and how those wild and often violent times weren't really that long ago. Instead of leaving this sidetracked session on the "cutting room floor", I thought it might be interesting to fellow amateur historians and maybe even inspire some to "go down some rabbit holes" to learn more about the likes of "Wildcat" Bill Hamilton and "Colonel" Allen. The title of Bill Hamiltons amazing life story is, "My Sixty Years On The Plains: Trapping, Trading And Indian Fighting"
Wildlife Photographer Cole Waltner of “Chasing The Wild Outdoors” shares his experiences and gallery from his adventure to the Arctic Circle where he was invited to accompany other renowned photographers and members of the “Beyond The Wild Podcast” to photograph Polar Bears in their element! This local power couple recently purchased and moved into the location formerly known as Big Fat Headquarters! Their passion shows in their food! We were able to learn more about what drives them, and we explored all the reasons why Columbus is a terrible place to live and raise a family! (That was a joke...) This was recorded at Big Fat Studios at the Uncle Sam's Complex in downtown Columbus Montana. Enjoy

Ned Solomon was the Director of Business License in Las Vegas from the late 70's until his retirement in 1995. He witnessed first hand the explosion of a small desert gambling town in the 1940's into the entertainment capitol of the world that it is today. He walked a tight rope between politicians, mobsters, judges, and even the FBI & IRS as he helped shape Las Vegas by guiding some (and roadblocking others...) of the most powerful developers, entrepreneurs, and celebrities through the infamous Clark County bureaucracy. And, he did all that while being a dad, to me and my 4 older siblings. We also get a treat glimpse of my mom, Georgiana, in studio as she sat in on this conversation.
