How does that look like when you're scaling and bringing on those team members and how should other people look at that when they're bringing on team members? {6:49} I'm the kind of person that I really think that I can do anything and so I'll just start doing it and then of course, correct and troubleshoot later on. {7:02} I have kind of developed my own system for how I want to do things and I really do notice the difference, if you're missing certain pieces in the onboarding process then you're really losing the value that you could be gaining from a particular person. {8:04} The gist of what I do to just kind of put it all in a nutshell, is I have set up my application in an air table base and they apply through there. {9:04} That's really nice to kind of have that front end of things set up because sometimes that's what really makes the most amount of time. {9:35} If people wanted to have that template, is that something that you can implement for them as well? {9:45} Yes absolutely and I've actually thought about creating you know taking all of my data out of the one I'm currently using and basically making it a template that can be sold and just plug and play. {10:04} It has really been a game-changer. {10:31} That was something important to me too, to implement is just that person would you bring that personal connection component back into the process. {10:50} What about when those team members do start working with you what does that look like what does that process look like for onboarding and distributing tasks? {10:58} I use click up. {13:00} What are the top technologies that you see your clients using and you use in your business that entrepreneurs need to have as they scale? {14:11} I would say for any business owner, it really depends on like what are the core components of your business. {15:08} I would recommend for sure a tool like Dubsado. {15:49} I know you use it for task management things, is there something that people use click up for in their business that isn't task management based is there something that people should be using click up for that you haven't seen people use click up for? {16:22} I've seen some really cool things happening with click up I've I know I've seen real estate agents using click up to kind of manage you know as a CRM for real estate processes. {16:56} There really isn't a limit to what you can do with click up. {17:40} What do you think has been the thing that has really helped you grow and scale your business is that do you think there's one thing that's helped you get to this point in your business so far or what does that look like for you? {17:54} I mean it's definitely bringing on a team like bringing on people to help and taking the time I would say like stepping back for me to have like alone time to just reflect and strategize like look at big picture. {19:17} As a business owner, I cannot give my biggest problems to other people on my team I am the business owner I have to solve the biggest problems, and realizing that was kind of a game-changer. {23:43} Have you ever worked on mindset has mindset been a thing that you've worked with when you're scaling your business? {23:56} There's definitely been some mindset work, I mean I think it looks different for every person. {25:22} What is next for you? {25:54} I'm working currently to really streamline what we're doing. {26:20} I also am working with new virtual assistants in either coaching or a program. {27:13} My goal is to really fine-tune the operations on the system side of all those things. Ep 026: The Importance Of Market Research

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 17, 2021 17:12

In this episode, we talk about the importance of Market Research! Why is it that in the online space we forget about everything we were taught in any business class and think that it will be ok because there is no large investment or money behind it. I dive into when to do market research, how to do it and what to do with the information. If you want to find out more about Attract Dream Clients and how you can get your hands on the market research questions I use then head here: www.deashawaddup.com/attract-dream-clients Here are the highlights: {2:23} Why when we turn to the online space, and the online market do people suddenly stop offering this market research they just suddenly think that creating an online business is the easiest thing in the world. {2:56} Market research is such an important tool to make sure that the market is ready for your offer. {3:29} Market research is so valuable before you create any offer for anything in your business make sure that you have done the market research. {3:58} You should be doing it at any point in your business. {4:16} Every time in business you should be looking at your market research whether that is the language that people are language change people's opinions and views of the world change as we grow so make sure that you are constantly. {5:03} This is market research done simplified and there are so many different ways to do it but you should be doing it consistently throughout your business. {5:33} This is what I get asked a lot and inside of Attract Dream Clients which you can join as a self-study program you will get access to a whole bunch of different questions that you can ask and a systemized process to go out and do this market research. {5:12} There are many many ways we can do it, the first is one of one way of offering this market research is getting on a video call. {6:32} By getting on a call with somebody I can really build that bond that no love and trust factor. {7:42} If you want to go and meet people in real life in person then absolutely go and hang out at your local coffee shop, Vince has done this and had amazing results.  {8:07} Another way of doing it is just sending out a form. {8:37} Use a survey tool use a way of collecting that data through emails, through questions and you can connect with people that way there is absolutely no need for you to get wildly outside of your comfort zone. {8:57} Another way to do market research is just listening. {9:13} I do my market research is by just watching and listening to the words and the language that people are using when they are interacting with others. {9:33} I will also make a note of the language that they're using so the language and tonality that they're using are going to impact the way that I would market to that person should I wish to sell them. {11:29} I'm using the language that they use I am repeating it back to them so they feel heard. {12:52} Whatever method of market research you have used you need to collate all that data. {13:06} One of the most powerful ways that work for me is drawings. I have a stick man drawing that I absolutely love where I put the language that people are using. {14:34} Every time you come to create content you are reminded about the market research they've conducted you were reminded about the language your ideal clients are using. {14:56} So you can then structure your offer structure your content or structure your sales conversation around those keywords that you know are going to trigger that person into taking action and actually buying. {15:16} Market research is super super powerful so make sure that this is something that you are exploring. You are standing in your own way definitely if you're not doing that. {7:11} How did you find all your clients? How did you get like build that brand awareness for yourself? (8:45} The biggest one has always been around just having that self-belief. {9:24} If everybody could make seven figures online you know nobody would be in a job would they'd all be doing that so it does take hard effort sometimes and it does take hostility it does take long hours but for me personally, it's been worth it. {9:42} Do you think there was where you thought I can do this I can build the agency was there something that went that just clicked for you that you knew that okay I am going all-in? {11:25} My husband is coming out of teaching and he's starting his business in January so that's probably one of the biggest moments I've had where I've thought ah okay are actually doing this now. {12:50} Do you think podcasting of your podcast specifically helped you attract clients and build that business or has it been something else? {13:03} It's been a combination so one of the things that I find with my own podcast but also with my client's podcast, in particular, has been this sort of bonus. {13:59} That's sort of a benefit that we don't often think about when we start a podcast we think about it as oh you know I'm going to put out weekly content I'm but you don't think about that return on the investment necessarily where you start to get clients based on the fact that they've heard your podcast. {15:35} What do you think is the key if somebody's listening along and thinking I need to start a podcast? {18:11} Two things, the first one is to be on a podcast and again I'll share some resources and secondly have a strategy have a reason for starting your podcast if it's something you want to do. {19:36} So that was something that really made a difference to me is hiring somebody. {20:18} What do you think is the basic equipment that people need if they've not got a huge budget to kick off their pockets? {20:55} if you're gonna spend money anywhere with your equipment it's on your microphone. {22:45} The next thing you'll need is a pair of headphones. {24:37} What about editing a podcast is that hard work? {24:50} It's not hard necessarily but it's a skill. {25:12} It's just about knowing how to polish the sound up in the best possible way how to make it sound as rich and fantastic as your voice can do, the mic helps with that quite a lot but the editing is a big thing. {25:52} Even if you're thinking to yourself I'm not techy I've not got a clue you absolutely can, you can start a podcast and edit it perfectly well it just takes a bit of time and practice. {27:03} Don't let the tech get in the way of starting because it's really simple for somebody else to pick it up and do it for you. {27:12} What do you think is the number one thing people need to know about podcasting? {27:57} When you're thinking about where you can make a name for yourself where you can get seen and heard where you can offer a lot of value a podcast is definitely the way to go.   Connect with Deasha at www.deashawaddup.com Join the Scaling With Deasha Facebook Group at www.deashawaddup.com/community

In this episode, I dive into the behind the scenes that helped me quit my job and make more money in my business than my full time job. It is a super simple strategy with just 4 steps! If you need help implementing this strategy then make sure you head over and join Attract Dream Clients here: www.deashawaddup.com/attract-dream-clients If you have any questions, or want to share your wins with us then please join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/getvisiblest   Here are the highlights: {1:20} It took me a while to figure out the roles, the how to do this, and how to get and attract all those clients that allowed me to double my corporate income {2:07} What Facebook groups should I be in and where should I be and how do I find them? {3:30} There are literally thousands of facebook groups out there that you could be in that your ideal clients in and connecting with them {3:49} Make sure that you find where your ideal clients are and go and hang out in those groups {4:11} Just be a human, human in business is so much more connected and it's so much easier to relate to people than somebody who is trying to copy a system or a process. {4:31} This takes time and yes it is a strategy that i teach to be inside those groups for a set amount of time and get out and move on to the next thing. {4:50} If you're listening and you're thinking I have no idea where these groups are what groups I should be in then I have a solution for you, Attract Dream Clients is my self-study and group program. {5:26} Once you have found the groups then you need to be a human and groups then you need to be a human and interact in those groups you need to be you. {5:35} Ultimately that is what is going to drive people to you if you are YOU. {6:20} What makes you unique is what is going to sell your offer or program. {6:32} When we look at two different offers and they're very very similar quite often it is the personality of the person and their individual characteristics that are going to make the difference between if that person is going to sign up or not. {6:45} Make sure that you are standing in your own power. {7:21} When I was a social media manager I worked with wellness entrepreneurs I became the person to talk to you as if you were a wellness entrepreneur and you wanted to start to scale your business using social media management. {8:08} I was there giving advice sharing my piece of knowledge saying if you want to jump on a call let me know, I have strategy calls that you can jump on. {8:20} This is something that is going to make you stand out when you comment on one of those posts and you say exactly what you do and how you help rather than saying I'll dm you or message you. {8:37} Really take the time to write down exactly what you do because it's not just that person that posted that post it's going to be going through those comments it is other people as well so I really took the time every time I wrote a comment to spell out exactly who I worked with how I helped them and what I could do for that person. {9:30} The next step in attracting clients using other people's Facebook groups is posting in those groups making sure that you're posting amazing content. {9:49} Make sure that what you are doing is really leveraging that space. {10:23} It's going to make a massive difference if you can share that value and stand out as that industry expert. {11:16} We have to toot our own horn, nobody is gonna toot our own horn for us. {11:36} It comes down to your positioning and that is what you can share inside of other people's groups that people know that you are the expert. {11:49} Make sure that it's coming across in your posting schedule now don't just post and ghost the group you want to be there actively engaging and posting regularly. {11:59} When I talk about regularly, it depends on the size of the group and the type of group how often you want to post in that group. {12:20} Inside of Attract Dream Clients, I give you a strategy to have that rotation of posts and to know where you've posted those things. {13:54} If you've been doing all of the three things that we've just discussed you've found the amazing groups you've been interacting in them and you've been posting in them then the missing piece is your personal profile make sure that your personal profile is inviting to those people make sure it shows them and directs them where they should be going make sure that your personal profile is really delivering people to wherever you want them to go. Ashley will be the first to admit that she's obsessed with avocados, sea turtles, and email marketing. (And won't ever pass up a good cup of coffee!) https://ashleykdeluca.com Get your free email audit: https://forms.gle/fz8wv8znUC4TU9jK9   {2:33} If people have no audience, where do they start with building up an email list and how do they get people to open their emails? {3:09} Intentional customer journey {3:44} Make sure your intentions are very clear {5:05} The standard for a welcome sequence across the board is five, but I've changed mine to eight {7:45} It's so important to use your email to actually pair that CTA {9:04} What is a good open rate and how do people increase their open rate? {9:23} Your open rate is actually 50% of your subject line and 50% of the relationship you have with your subscriber {9:28} The thing is when people are going through their inbox, they're either looking at the subject line or they're looking at the name of the person who sent it {9:37} So for subject lines specifically, I usually look for about 30% {9:52} Each and every single email list is completely different {10:11} I really focus on the relationship side more than just like trying to figure out the best subject line {10:22} If you are finding that your subject or your open rate is like tank, the first thing you want to do is clean your list. {10:40} Anybody who hasn't been opening your emails in the last 90 days, you should try to re-engage with them {11:23} The second thing is that conversational email subject lines always win {12:51} Is there some things that will always go into spam? Things that are no-nos in your subject line or in the copy of your emails? {13:13} The actual terms change quite often in terms of what kind of not or considered not acceptable {13:53} It's also really incredibly important to really take a look at your email marketing provider because a lot of times your deliverability it's 50% on you, and 50% on your provider. {16:00} The most important thing for you to do is to take a look and just have a discussion with your email marketing provider {18:00} What other things do people need to know about emails? What should people send and how often should they be sending? {18:37} I like to tell people that they need to send as many emails as they can actually do whatever is reasonable for you. {18:54} I would rather you send one really good email than 4 crappy emails {19:04} If you have a list that's over 3000 people, you will want to consider doing two emails a week but you'll want to segment them um specifically based on your audience or based on the offers that they are interested in. {19:27) When do you think you should start adding those segmentations into your list? {19:46} It's really important to actually separate the two and to be able to start tracking from the get-go. {20:14} It's really important to tag them based off of the offer they get so that way you can then target that specific group of people for your next offer or for the next step. {20:23} Is there an automated way to do that or do you have to manually go in? {20:31} It depends on how you manage {21:51} It just is very extremely custom based {22:22} Let me make it simple so one email, one CTA unless it's your like first initial welcome email. {22:34} Generally speaking one CTA per one email and within this, what I like to do is when I'm outlining my emails I actually first take a look specifically at what the purpose is the three kinds of main points, and then the CTA. {23:06} Having an outline is so incredibly important that way when you're writing you know what to expect next but also within this as well too I like to actually integrate my CTA within the copy. {23:55} The most important part is making sure your segue works. {25:59} Share from a scar, not a wound. {27:04} At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, it's really again just about intention. What is the intention behind sending the email and when you're going through and even planning out for a launch or anything whether you know it could just be you know your monthly campaigns. {27:43} It completely changes the game within how your relationships show up in email, how they show up online, and how they all coincide together. {28:28} Sometimes the wins aren't necessarily because they opened or even clicked in the email the win comes from you sending the email and reminding them that you exist and that your offer is available to them. {29:27} The Email Strategy Lab. If you would like to find out more about the Elevate Mastermind which kicked off this week then head here and book in a call with a member of the team: https://www.elevateyourbrand.co.uk If you have not joined the facebook group yet and want to share your offer stack and numbers with the community then head over now and share. https://www.facebook.com/groups/getvisiblest Here are the highlights: {1:14} What is an offer stack? {1:54} An office stack is just a selection of offers {2:18} The idea behind an office stack is either people can work with you through your offer stack or the alternative or people can pick and choose where they are in their world {3:19} Start your offer stack with one-on-one offer {4:04} When do you scale up? {4:10} What I recommend is that my clients don't scale up to a complete offer stack until their one-on-one offer is booked out, whatever booked out looks like for you {5:05} Once you have booked out your one-on-one offer, then it's time to start creating that offer stack {5:22} What a good method is, is a group program {6:01} Creating an offer that is a group program that leverages your time {6:45} Being an entrepreneur when you're sat in your spare room in your office and you are talking to the camera all day, it can get lonely {7:09} When we created the elevate mastermind, was about creating that sense of community {7:27} We wanted to make sure that the elevate mastermind was a place where people could feel really supported {9:17} Now is the time to create that course {10:35} The power of having a self study program {10:44} A one-on-one, a group program and then a self-study course {11:03} Freebies and experiences {11:18} These are like almost cement blocks in the foundations of your business {11:52} It can look in different ways depending on your ideal clients {12:26] it is a great way to build that know love and trust factor with people {12:47} Let's go to basics {12:53} An offer stack would look from a triangle point of view at the bottom you would have your freebie, the next step up would be your experiences and then the top stack would be your one-on-one {13:21} That is when you would sign up for your group program {13:57} Price point wise, courses usually are cheaper than a group offering and cheaper than a one-on-one offering {14:38} Let's talk numbers {16:00} Make sure that you know your numbers {16:08} Get clear on what type of group program you want to run Connect with Deasha at www.deashawaddup.com Join the Scaling With Deasha Facebook Group at www.deashawaddup.com/community

What is the first step in this pr thing? How do you even start? {14:49) What we're passionate about is normalizing pr making it part of your overall marketing strategy so it's something that you do consistently so you can benefit from it in the longer term rather than this is kind of like one-off hit so that's something that is a mindset thing. {15:16} We always say the best place to start is understanding your pr personality and what we mean by that is where do you naturally feel comfortable? {16:04} We always say to take the stress out of pr lean towards the direction that feels most comfortable for you. {18:32} Don't put yourself in a situation that feels uncomfortable. We talk about it our, the way we teach it is you are all on a comfortability curve. {19:26} That's the secret formula, it really is you don't have to do something that doesn't if it makes you feel uncomfortable. You don't have to do it. {20:30} How do you find these people whether it's a blog or radio or tv, how do you find the people that you need to speak to, to submit your ideas or your pitch? {20:40} Two Types of PR {25:51} Journal Request {26:42} How do you decide what your story is? {27:07} Free download, 20 story ideas that are applicable to any business owner {27:50} Our golden rule with storytelling is to put humans first people first strategy {28:47} We know that people buy from people {30:42} How do you handle that side of things?
