He brought a cautionary tale about Facebook ads, cold leads, and a £9,000 lesson in what happens when you trust the algorithm more than your instincts. Key Points from the Conversation with Robin Waite Even Experts Trip Up Robin isn't new to marketing—he ran an agency for 12 years. But when it came to Facebook ads for his own coaching business, he got caught in the allure of automation and scale. What started strong eventually crashed, all because the warm audience he'd been nurturing for years dried up. Your Audience Isn't Infinite Facebook ads worked—until they didn't. If you can, try to find a mentor or coach who can support you, because otherwise, it can be a struggle. I had a great business in web design, and while we eventually became successful, it took us seven or eight years of struggle to get there. If I had sought out books to read, spoken to mentors, and involved business coaches in our operations earlier, I think we would have achieved success much faster. On today's episode of the podcast, I'm going to be talking about one of the easiest ways to figure out how much to charge for your products or services. Welcome back, everybody. It's your host here, Robin Waite, founder of Fearless Business, author of Take Your Shot. It's been a little while since I did a podcast. You're probably wondering why there's been several months of a hiatus. So before I dig into my simple formula for working out your products or services, I thought I would just update you as to why I've been away for a little while. Yeah, quite simply, I just found that I fell out of love with doing podcast episodes. I don't know why, and I know that it's very selfish of me, but sometimes I find when you're doing building marketing assets, you do have to find things which you are, where your energy is kind of like, without getting too woo, in the right sort of place. So going for that, answering that question around how do you set your coaching prices when you're starting out? Well, there are a number of different ways, but I'm going to share one specifically with you, which is, I call it goal focused pricing. And it is possibly the simplest way to set your prices for your services. It does involve a bit of math. So you probably didn't wake up this morning thinking you were going to get some kind of a math test, but it's simple math, folks. Just get out a sheet of paper and just do some basic calculations or use a spreadsheet.
