052: spiritual foundations- your job as you

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 6, 2021 36:40

In this episode, we bring it back to basics: who are you and why are you here? We can get so caught up in the practices and the tools and the lessons along the way that we forget what's at the core of all of "the work": you. In this episode, I break down something we talk about a lot on this show: the soul & the true self. At the core of spiritual teachings is the understanding of "I", that you are not your mind, body, or emotions, you are something bigger. Then we take it a step further to your job to unfold into the highest and fullest expression of yourself and the understanding that has made that job a hell of a lot easier. This episode may push you out of your comfort zone. We brought on Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) Practitioner, David Taylor, to talk to us about hypnosis therapy and past life regression. David shares with us his incredible journey of how he came to QHHT and soul work through his own healing journey. After a bicycling accident at age 20 and a later diagnosed brain tumor, David went from traveling the world and working in finance to needing emergency brain surgery and eventually became addicted to the various painkillers he was prescribed. David tells us how it was through this journey that he began to ask what his real purpose in life was and began learning about past life regression. He tells us about some of the fascinating things he learned about his own soul's history, and more importantly, he shares why these lessons can be so powerful, like in his experience, how he learned about confidence, presence, and insight into his brain tumor. David breaks down what a Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique session actually looks like, he tells us about how it came into practice, and how and why we could all use QHHT, and other soul work methods to transform and grow as much as we can in this life we have now. As a QHHT practitioner, David has come to believe that navigating our incarnation in this human vessel is easier if we understand the reasons for our diseases, and he believes many diseases are linked to unresolved traumas from past lives. He has found past life regression to be one of the best ways to uncover one's ancestral traumas, so they can then be worked on in a focused manner. In David's case, the past life traumas and their lessons were connected to his purpose in this life. He believes his clients can combine the revelations of a QHHT session with taking action on a personal level in order to transform their lives. As a QHHT practitioner, his aim will be to leverage his experience and understanding of how we uncover ancestral traumas into facilitating a session you will benefit from. As you'll hear in the episode, David is a wonderful and fascinating person and I highly recommend anyone interested in QHHT and past life regression reach out to David. In today's episode, we sat down again with Intuitive Business Coach, Chrissy Dee, to continue our conversation on spiritually approaching business and our work in the world. Today's conversation focused around your unique purpose and of course…money. Chrissy and I talk about the energetics behind money, how you can identify your hidden beliefs about money that may be blocking you from abundance, and how you can shift out of the lack mentality and into a place where you see money as the tool that it is. We talked about how we “find our purpose”, how we can get stuck in thinking that there's only a few options for our purpose and mission, and how to open yourself up to all possibilities you didn't know were possible. I love this episode because I believe we learn through stories and through real experience and exposure, so Chrissy and I shared a lot of personal examples of the ways we've been caught in lack mentality, what we do to move out of it, and even how we deal with debt. Chrissy Dee is a certified intuitive business mentor for lightworkers and healers. She works specifically with spiritual mentors, tarot readers, energy/crystal healers, astrologers, psychic mediums, and content creators to help them expand into greater levels of service and income so they can do their soul's work for a living! She also feels most alive when she's spending time with family, traveling the world, star gazing, and having deep conversations with interesting people. Chrissy started off in an engineering 'day job' that became stressful and unfulfilling after her first spiritual awakening. She was determined to create a life by her own design helping thousands of lightworkers become empowered and rise into their greatness. After becoming certified in September 2019 and moving through all the crazy ups and downs of life and entrepreneurship with her soul guides never far away, she finally resigned from her 9-5 and went full time as a thriving intuitive business mentor in September 2020. She now spends her days teaching mission-driven spiritual entrepreneurs who have big hearts and big dreams how to get rich in their soul, their purpose, and their bank account - because we truly get to have it all! 049: how to embrace uncertainty

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 15, 2021 37:09

This episode is probably my favorite solo show I've had in a while. As I explain in the episode, uncertainty as an umbrella of issues, is by far the biggest challenge I've faced forging my own path. If you listen to this show, my strong suspicion is that you are someone who wants to follow your own light, to create a life that authentically lights you up, to forge your own path. I believe that is the best and most important decision you can ever make- and embedded in that decision is uncertainty. Very simply, you can't possibly know how it's going to go because it's never been done before! YOU have never been done before. In this episode, I break down why uncertainty presents us with such a challenge, the different issues from insecurity to stress that fall underneath that challenge, and of course, how to reframe it so that you can actually learn to embrace uncertainty for the magic that is is, instead of do everything you can to try to avoid it (which btw is impossible). This episode is at the heart of not only what I do, but who I am, and it is my deepest honor to be able to guide others through this process of forging your own path- despite all of the uncertainty and the challenges that follow. If you're on this path, whether you're just starting out or you're years down the road and you're looking for guidance, I would absolutely love to connect with you! Chrissy and I talked about one of the questions I get asked, and ask myself, the most: how do we know if something isn't for us or is just hard because it's uncomfortable? Especially when it comes to being brave leaders in our careers, there are going to be plenty of times where you feel uncomfortable. How do we know when the discomfort is because of growth or when you're on the wrong track? 046: awareness to improve relationships

In this episode, I break down one of the most life-changing things I have ever learned. This episode is a little different. It is less of a step-by-step and more of an understanding; if you can begin to work with and embody this concept, I promise you, you will see major improvements in all of your relationships where this is applied. We are all operating off of our own scripts. The problem is: we don't know other peoples' scripts and they don't know ours and all scripts are different. With most of our actions being driven by the subconscious, it is easy to see how there can be so much conflict in relationships. As with everything, I'm asking you to slow down, keep an open mind, and invite in space and a higher level of awareness when you engage with people in your life. This concept can be challenging because in order to fully embody it, you have to accept radical self-responsibility for your own state- a very empowering, but difficult thing to do. Bringing this level of awareness and alignment into all of your relationships is something I work on with my 1-1 clients. If the relationships in your life aren't going well, there is a great opportunity for you to look at what is not working within you. I would absolutely love to support you in this. In this episode, I sat down with professional Human Design Analyst and Astrologer, John Cole. Whether you're just starting to understand Human Design, or you're looking for a grounded approach, this episode is just what you need. John brings us back to basics and explains what Human Design is, where it comes from, and how we can use it as a practical tool in our lives. We talked about how Human Design and Astrology is not a belief system or another dogma you have to learn and mold yourself to, they are tools that can help us to grow into our unique self, our true self. John broke down what each auric type means and what some of the very first things you can start to work with are that can have the most impact in your life like your specific strategy, authority, and profile. I had a foundations reading with John and I could not recommend it more. You can learn more about John, Human Design, and book a 1-1 reading at https://metamorphichumandesign.com/. For Human Design Courses, go to: https://courses.humandesigncollective.com/ More about John Cole: I was introduced to astrology at a young age by my mother, an astrologer who began her studies in order to better understand her two boys. At the age of 22, after an initial period of reluctance towards the subject, I agreed to do a consultation with a professional astrologer. I was so impressed by the depth of insight shared with me during the session that I began a study of astrology, taking classes, and reading just about every book and article I could get my hands on. My explorations started with modern psychological astrology and led me into an extended period of exploring Jyotish/Indian Astrology until I was introduced to the ancient Western traditions in Hellenistic and Medieval astrology. The practicality and clarity of the traditional forms of astrology provided a more solid grounding in astrological technique – and at the same time, I continued to explore more modern forms like Uranian/Symmetrical Astrology. In early 2015, I was introduced to the Human Design System by a friend and fellow astrologer. My first reaction to seeing the system was something along the lines of “Oh, no – what is this? Another system to learn?”. I discovered that in Human Design, my auric type is a “Projector” which very specifically described how my energy was designed to work along with many patterns and characteristics of my experience that no other system had identified or had an explanation. I began experimenting with the system daily and soon booked a reading with a professional Human Design Analyst which carried quite an impact, driving the knowledge in deeper. I entered into formal Human Design training and enrolled in the program to become a professional analyst. I completed the three and half year program in December of 2018 to become a Professional Analyst certified by the International Human Design School. Since then I have continued my studies and training with the Degree Differentiation Program (DDP) which combines the Primary Health System (PHS) and Rave Psychology, as well as teacher training for Living Your Design and Rave ABCs. As a Projector energy type with over two decades of astrological study and full immersion in the Human Design System, I feel well prepared to meet the needs of my clients wishing to experiment with this knowledge. I meet each person as the unique individual that they are, knowing that they are in fact the expert on their own life. My role in a consultation is to share this system in a practical and straightforward way, initiating the client into a deeper relationship with their true-self and inner authority.

This is such an important and beautiful time to be alive, but it's also deeply uncomfortable. I know a lot of the discussions around astrology just leave you feeling more confused or turned off. This workshop is around visioning and goal setting. I'm recording this episode on December 14 as we have a New Moon and Solar Eclipse making it a potent time to set intentions not only the next month but the next year. This year has been full of feelings of restrictions and constraint. It's been uncomfortable, but transformative. The invitation today is to venture deep into ourselves so that we can uncover our truth and create a life that is authentic and in alignment with our soul's mission. The themes of this time with both the solar eclipse and the new moon occurring in Sagittarius are freedom, moving beyond restraints; adventure, wandering; and aiming high and dreaming big. This workshop is different from others because instead of using your head, I'm challenging you to drop into your heart to uncover your true desires and focus on qualities and feelings rather than material items. I'm also challenging you to go big. Instead of setting a goal of "being healthier", why not set the goal of being the most vibrant person in the room! The poem I read was The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. If you haven't listened to the episodes on following your bliss and manifestation, I highly recommend you go back and check those out to help embody your dream version of yourself. In today's episode, I sat down with someone who has been a big inspiration for me, Jeddy Azuma. Jeddy and I covered a LOT. He shared his story of how he came to connect with truth, ancient practices, and doing work that is aligned and meaningful, and how we all are working to leave a legacy. We talked about the difference between a boy and a man and the difference between the "initiations" we see in modern hazing and the traditional initiation ceremonies that have been practiced for thousands of years and that Jeddy works with today. We covered topics like asking for help and why it's so hard, being process vs. results oriented, what the point is of ceremony, and how we can practice and develop our relationship with challenge. This episode was dense, maybe one you want to go back and listen to again. Jeddy Azuma is the host of “The Rising Man Podcast” (Top #150 in Educational Podcasts) and Creator of The Rising Man Movement, Jeddy has been in the field of Men's Leadership and Empowerment for the past 10 years. As a Rites of Passage Guide, Mentor, and Leadership Coach, Jeddy has impacted the lives of hundreds of men on his mission to initiate an entire generation of men into power and purpose-driven service to the world. He is a Founding Father of Conscious Man Brotherhood and a lead coach in Man Cave, Unleash the Beast, and King's Court. Despite his many roles and contributions to “Men's Work", Jeddy considers his most important jobs to be Father and Husband. “I always knew I wanted to make a major impact on the world, I just had NO idea how to do that in my 20's. After numbing myself with substances and fear-based behaviors for years, I finally found a path in men's work and rites of passage that fed my soul. And, I knew it was only a matter of time before I would give this medicine back to the men around me. NOW, I'm clear that the gift I have for my people is to prepare the next generation of men to lead their families, communities, and themselves powerfully and confidently into uncertain times." This may be my favorite episode yet. Living a spiritual life does not have to look like you becoming a monk in the Himalayas, wearing crystals, abandoning your corporate career, or whatever stereotypes you had in mind. The old paradigm might have been that you either are "super spiritual" and you lock yourself away and dedicate your life to God OR you crush it in your business, drive a Tesla, wear Lululemon, and pick up girls at bars...but not anymore. My friend, fellow Aubrey Marcus' Fit For Service Fellowship member, David Cruz is the perfect example of this. Living a spiritual life means tapping into your true self, your soul, your inner knowing, and aligning everything you do with that. You were created perfectly unique, so that means you get to be something that's never been done before. You don't have to fit into a box so that people understand you- your only job is to be your soul's highest and most expressed version of yourself, and only you can know what that looks like. In this episode, David and I talk about achiever mentality, realizing external validation will never make you truly fulfilled, identity crisis, and so much more. David read us a poem from Matthew McConaughey's new book "Greenlights". If you're like me and have been procrastinating downloading Audible, now is the time to do it. David is that successful, Lulu-wearing, Tesla driving, physical specimen that has ladies cranking their heads at the bar (he's gonna kill me for that line). But you'll also find him at 5AM leading meditation and breath work sessions, writing in his journal, and diving deep in meaningful conversation about soul and life. This is the episode for when you feel like you've been knocked off your center. How do we get back into alignment when we feel stressed and overwhelmed? How do we get grounded when we feel stuck in the chaos? The major keys of this episode are awareness, space, and recognizing that living in alignment is a verb. Balance is a verb. We're always going to be stepping on and off, leaning and course correcting. The first step (as always) is awareness. In order to get centered again, we have to realize we fell off. Get in the practice of asking yourself how you really feel. Then, when we recognize that we're stressed or overwhelmed, our job is to take a step back. Give ourselves space. If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's likely that you have a lot on your plate- so taking space is going to be a challenge, but it's the only way to get back into aligned action. We are so inundated with so much all of the time. So many of us are still running in that rat wheel, checking the boxes. You have everything you need to live a life of alignment, of ease, of bliss, but you can't access that inner knowing because the noise of everything else is blocking it. So you need to tune everything else out to tune into you. Ask: what does my body need? What does my Spirit need? I used to be stuck in the constant rush and push and stress of life, now I am actually in love with my life. Moving into this place of alignment and authenticity is my specialty. Psychedelics have unfortunately been bastardized by our Western culture. Plant medicines were not intended for you to use to trip at the club (though no judgment). They are actually a powerful spiritual tool and guide to invite us into our truth and highest self. I can't think of anyone better than Alex Nelson, entrepreneur, life transformation coach, retreat facilitator, and my friend, to walk us through a grounded introduction to how and why we can consciously engage in plant medicines. We talked about the 3 essential components to a safe and transformational ceremony: set, setting, and sitting. We talked a lot about intentionality versus escapism. This is the perfect episode for anyone just starting to be interested in working with plant medicines. We covered the importance of the container you set before and after the ceremony, and Alex gives us his recommendation for a healthy and supportive progression. One of my favorite lines from the episode is, "This isn't the psychedelic Olympics. You don't need to win the title of most drugs done." Plant medicines are a sexy topic, and sure, it sounds cool to drop into a major Ayahuasca ceremony right out of the gate, but this episode is here to remind you that psychedelics are a spiritual tool, and should be treated as such. All of the things we covered, from inviting more joy into your life to acting with high intentionality are also just great spiritual strategies for life in general. Alex said it perfectly, "Life's a ceremony. Treat it as such." Alex Nelson was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is an entrepreneur, life transformation coach, retreat facilitator, and the host of the Through The Veil podcast. After selling his asphalt business in early 2017, he embarked upon a journey which led him through various corporate management jobs, finally landing in his current role as a full time personal coach and transformational experience specialist. He has spent the last 7 years working closely with coaching clients, a calling he felt deeply after curing himself of alcoholism in 2012 through deeply intentional ceremonial work. His deepest commitment is to help people to uncover the tools and skills they have within themselves for healing so that they can live their best life unburdened by trauma. This shit-show of a political scene, all of the hate, and dysfunction we are seeing right now are all symptoms. They are not the problem. We want to point to a person, a party, a policy and say, "There! That is the problem. That is what is to blame." And then create Team Them and Team Us, and fight against each other. That would be easy. It's what we've always done. But where has that lead? This episode will challenge you. It's not the easy way out. It's not spiritually bypassing. In this episode, I explain that the root problem that has lead to all of the chaos in our world is this false sense of separateness that has become our reality. We don't know our neighbors, we hate people who we perceive to be different, we are disconnected from the Earth, and this reality is a huge deviance from our Truth. The most basic, fundamental spiritual Truth is oneness. We are all one. I introduced the term, Tat Tvam Asi, which in Sanskrit translates to "thou art that" or "I am that too". It's time we flipped the lens. As Lion, as Leaders, as people who want to live aligned, authentic, alive, wild, and free, it is our job to own that what we see in the world exists somewhere in us too. We have to practice radical compassion and love - especially for those we disagree with. This week is going to be hard. I am offering free coaching calls if anyone needs extra support. I've talked about social media and technology a lot on this show. This episode is a deep dive into why it is absolutely crucial that we get conscious about how we engage with social media and technology and how you can start to do that today. Our brains have not evolved to keep up with technology. I talk about some of the ways our brain reacts to social and technology and how our devices and social platforms are designed and encoded with manipulation tactics to keep you on it. Therefore, when we're unconsciously using social, we're going to fall victim to these tactics and stay asleep and become a sheep. It's going to take an active effort to fight against that. But if you are listening to this show, I don't think you're a sheep. I think you're a lion who wants to be awake and alive and present for every moment of your life. I shared with you why I deleted social media, how I felt without it, and why I've decided to come back, as well as specific practices like setting intentions before you take out your phone or go to Instagram, taking breaks, unfollowing people whose posts you don't want to see, following ONLY inspiring accounts, and shutting off notifications. In Episode 019, we welcome holistic lifestyle coach, podcast host, and my friend, Delaney McGuire, to talk about the divine masculine. Delaney shares with us how the image and model of the masculine is formed and his journey to transforming his life step-by-step to fully embody healthy and divine masculinity. This episode is especially raw because we recap together for the first time an incredibly powerful experience with had with expert coaches Christine Hassler and Stefanos Sifandos. We covered a lot in this episode- from how the shadow sides of the masculine and feminine can creep up on us to how men can begin to recognize their own patterns and unconscious behaviors and shift them to come into clarity on your intentions for yourself and for how you show up with the feminine. Delaney McGuire is a Holistic Lifestyle Coach dedicated to helping the millennial generation cultivate wellbeing, fulfillment & confidence in their lives with an extremely practical approach focused around habits. Coming from the corporate world as a successful technology manager, Delaney quickly learned that success was not the key to life. What looked like the perfect life on the outside had actually led him to severe anxiety, substance abuse, and deep disconnection from himself and those around him. In his search for answers he spent time in India studying the art of yoga, traveled the United States for a year living out of a van, and sought mentorship from some of the greatest spiritual thought leaders of our generation including Aubrey Marcus & Preston Smiles. 013: manifestation: focus & surrender

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 5, 2020 33:01

In Episode lucky 013, I explain and debunk manifestation and how you can really use it to transform your life. The first principle we go over is "where focus goes, energy flows". Often times, we revert to negative thinking, focusing on what's going wrong, what could go wrong, and what we don't have. When we do that, we're sending out lack energy, and so lack is what we're getting back. Instead, focus on what you want and why and then embody that. If you want to call in wealth, focus on the abundance you already have in your life and do the things that make you feel like a baller. The second principle is surrender. When we cling onto our desires, we're again putting out the energies of lack and mistrust, and the truth is we can't control our outcomes and sometimes the Universe has better plans than we had for ourselves. So when we have a desire, we can set the intention and then hand it over, trusting that either that or something better is coming. Lastly, I touched on how your true soul's desires are the same as the Universe, God, the Divine (choose your higher power name). All of the tools in this and other episodes are to help guide you to step into the flow where you realize that you don't need to be begging God and doing some crazy rituals and chanting all day to get what you want because your authentic dreams for your life are the same ones that all of the Universe is working for you to make true. I do believe you have to decide to set the tone for the day by beginning with some practice of honoring your body and feeding your soul. The same goes for an evening routine. We all have stories and beliefs that we are holding onto and carrying with us every day. These stories and beliefs from our past are the obstacles standing in between you and your highest self. You cannot expect your outside world to change if you're not willing to change your inside world. When we exist in our stories, when we look through the lens of "how it's always been", we are blocking the flow and our ability to live in the present moment. If you want to become the person you're here to be, you have to let go of who you thought you were. Sadghuru says, "In order to take a leap, you have to be insane or have an incredible amount of trust in something". For me, it took both, but now I can confirm that when you take the leap of deciding to leave the past in the past in order to rise up into your highest self, you finally see the truth that you never needed to cling to control- there is no better place to exist than in the flow.
