This week we make our way through the atmospheric forests of North America to take on the latest screen adaptation of 'Last of the Mohicans'. There have been some really wonderful bits of feedback from the interview episodes with Louise Aubrie and Rick McMurray with people checking out Louise's music which I'm really happy about. The second single off Louise's album 'Antonio' is out on Wednesday 23rd June (two days from this episode going live). Called 'Ours', it's a slightly darker song in tone from 'Last', but is another masterfully arranged song with killer vocal hooks. The Ash livestream was really good fun, there were a lot of the fans tweeting along with the action, but I still have an issue with livestream gigs. There's just not the atmosphere in your living room that there is at a live gig in a room full of people. (54:15) Six Fairly Cheap Products That Make the Pandemic a Little Easier What's your best pandemic purchase so far?  And is there anything small you've bought that's made things easier?  Here are a few we've seen that people swear by, that all cost $30 or less . . . Anti-fog spray for people with glasses.  You spray it on, and it keeps your glasses from fogging up when you wear a mask.  There's a brand on Amazon called Fog Gone that costs 10 bucks a bottle.  Mask extenders, so your ears don't hurt.  They fit around the back of your head, so your mask won't pull on your ears all day.  You can get a four-pack on Amazon for $7.  An electric milk frother.  So you can make fancy coffee without going to Starbucks.  They're easy to use and only cost about $15.  Soundproofing strips that fit around the edge of a door.  They're a cheap way to get a little more peace and quiet in your home office.  You can do one door for $9.  A mask with a clear plastic window, so people can see your mouth.  You probably don't need it all the time, but they make it a little easier for people to understand you.  So they're good for work.  You can get them on Etsy for $25.  6.  A selfie ring light.  They're the easiest way to light yourself and look better in video calls.  You can get a cheaper one for about 25 bucks. Michel Paradis is a scholar of international law and human rights who has worked for more than a decade for the U.S. Department of Defense Military Commissions Defense Organization, where he has worked on a number of the landmark court cases to arise out of Guantanamo Bay. Most recently, he is the author of the book "Last Mission to Tokyo: The Extraordinary Story of the Doolittle Raiders and Their Final Fight for Justice." It's the story of two military commissions that arose out of the first U.S. bombing raid over Japan during World War II: One, the trial by the Japanese of a number of Americans who participated in the raid, and the other after the war, of the Japanese who conducted the first trial for their conduct of that trial. Benjamin Wittes spoke with Michel about the extraordinary history he uncovered, how he came to be interested in these cases and how they relate to the ongoing U.S. experiments with military commissions.
