In this episode I was pleased to be joined by an integral part of Team USA's success at last week's Solheim Cup the 2023 US Women's Open Champion Allisen Corpuz who phones in from Las Vegas, Nevada took talk about in her own words 'the surreal week' at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia for Solheim Cup that saw Allisen win 3 points out of 4 available including win both Morning Foursomes matches with close friend Nelly Korda & a statement victory over the vastly experienced Anna Nordqvist in the Sunday Singles. We talk everything from Barack Obama being in attendance to Allisen watching Lilia Vu clinch the Cup for the US with a brilliant approach at 18 vs Valenzuela to 2 feet to win.  Allisen assesses life on Tour, her 2024 season which has been consistent including 9 Top 25s & a season best finish of T4th a couple of weeks back in Boston for FM Championship, we discuss the life changing week at Pebble Beach in 2023 for US Women's Open and Starting out as a LPGA Tour member in 2022 after finishing T16 in LPGA Q Series in 2021 to win her LPGA Card. Allisen was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii before enrolling at University of South California from 2016-2021 which included 2021 Curtis Cup win for US (went 3-0-0 that week), 2x Palmer Cup Participant in 2020 & 2021 as well as playing in 3x US Women's Opens as an Amateur while reaching a high of 7th in the World Amateur Rankings. In 2021 Allisen turned Professional and has never looked back since then having had 31 Top 25s since 2022 making 52/67 cuts since then. 2x Solheim Cup Participant for USA (Won 5 out of 8 Matches played) & in 2023 at Pebble Beach Allisen would defeat Charley Hull & Jiyai Shin by 3 shots to win US Women's Open which remains her sole LPGA Tour win.  A hugely consistent and accurate player with a great game. Surely only a matter of time before Corpuz wins more titles.  If you could listen in via Podbean, Spotify & Apple Podcasts that would be great. Appreciate the Support! Enjoy.

Allisen Corpuz is an American professional golfer and member of the LPGA Tour. She won the 2023 U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach, but before that, she was a student-athlete at the University of Southern California (just like Vic!) on the USC Women's Golf team. In today's conversation, Vic and Allisen talk candidly about the moments in their sports careers where they almost walked away, and what it took for Allisen to move past her doubts and fears to achieve her dream of becoming a title-winning professional golfer. They also get real about the mental work and mindset shifts required to compete at that level and beyond, and how she gracefully deals with stress and pressure. Allisen's outlook is not only inspiring but impressive, highlighting how putting in consistent work (she's played golf for 17 years!) is just one piece of finding success as a professional athlete. Whether you want to be best in your craft like Allisen, are grappling with the fear of not being good enough, or simply want to be able to show up at an elite level in life, she's sharing her recipe for success in this episode.  This week Sonja recaps her weekend at the Whitefish 4th of July Tournament. From her Pit Vipers, to her 13 on hole 13, to dipping mugs in a BFP at the Bulldog, she leaves no detail uncovered. Blakely went to Bull Bustin, acted as a mechanic, took her kid to nerd camp, and recapped their ladies night last week with their big horse and buggy win.  Allisen Corpuz won the U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach, and Blakely spit some amazing fun facts about Michelle Wie, Nasa Hataoka, In Gee Chun, Jiyai Shin and Charley Hull. Sepp Straka won the John Deere Classic, Mark Hubbard gave the finger to either his caddy or someone else (we will be doing a full investigation and keep you posted), and the big names in the PGA skipped out on the John Deere to head over to Europe to watch the Wimbledon and get ready for the Scottish Open! They also touched on the LIV drama between Brooks and Matt Wolffe, and Jay Monahan's health scare. The girls are preparing for ladies night this week, and playing in the RBC Open Scramble at GlenEagles in Cochrane. Don't forget to tag us in your twirls if you're out playing this week! Be sure to follow us on Instagram! http://www.instagram.com/clubtwirlswiththegirlsHosts: Sonja and Blakely Muse:Adam Scott

Andy and Brendan recap an eventful week in golf, but first there are some questions about the winning caddie now all of a sudden getting a trophy or award and how that is judged. This is a cause to talk about the massive weekend for Jay Monahans, one the winning caddie of the U.S. Women's Open and the other returning from his leave of absence. They discuss Allisen Corpuz's breakthrough win at that event, praising her and Charley Hull's Sunday rounds. There is time dedicated to Annika's sketchy drop on Friday night. They also discuss Pebble's place as a steward of the game, and whether its presentation and the USGA setup this week are a good example of that. There is great delight in the Sepptic Tank rumbling his way to a John Deere win, and what it means for Sqairz coming to the Ryder Cup. News closes it out with the announcement that Monahan is coming back to be Commissioner next week, and that Randall Stephenson has resigned his spot on the PGA Tour Policy Board. They ponder a motive for that and what it means in the elbowing to get the framework settled or scuttled.

On this week's edition of the podcast we reflect on a landmark U.S. Women's Open as the best women golfers in the world strutted their stuff at the iconic Pebble Beach. Aine Donegan was the star of the show from an Irish perspective, the Lahinch amateur lapping up every minute as she delighted the Californian crowds for four rounds at Pebble. It wasn't to be for Leona Maguire despite the Cavan star's name looming large early in a week that ultimately belonged to one of the home contingent as Allisen Corpuz collected the title. We discuss what the event might mean for the women's game and round up the rest of the action elsewhere from a big week for Seamus Power at the John Deere Classic to a busy week on the domestic amateur scene. As ever, we hope you enjoy the listen. Don't forget to subscribe and let us know what you think.
