A UN report is warning that one species - us - is threatening a million other species with extinction. Today, we’ll explain why biodiversity matters for humanity and how we can mitigate the damage. Meanwhile: the US and China were supposed to be close to a trade deal - but there are some new hurdles. We’ll tell you how the trade war is impacting folks here. Also on today’s episode: NBA center Enes Kanter is breaking fast for the playoffs and the Royals are celebrating new Baby Sussex.
Royals: Minutes 2.5 to 8 In this episode of Gossip with Celebitchy, we talk about the rumors that Duchess Meghan already had the baby, which convinced me for a little while. Then we got reports from Buckingham Palace that the baby had not been born yet. We talked about hoping they release the baby’s name soon, unlike when Kate and William had Louis and didn’t announce it for five days. Plus we talked about a story we didn’t cover on the site, The Sussex Royal Instagram unfollowing everyone except mental health accounts. We wonder if we’re going to have to update the podcast with baby news but obviously we didn’t have to! Game of Thrones: Minutes 8 to 15 The Long Night, episode 3 of this last Game of Thrones season, was the first episode I’d watched live in five years. Chandra recommended two better battle episodes for me to watch, Hardhome and The Battle of The Bastards. We also talked about the very dark cinematography which had so many viewers complaining and the cinematographer getting quite defensive about it. Taylor Swift: Minutes 15 to 20 We talk about what a regression ME! is for Taylor Swift’s look and sound. We both love the video where she falls in love with a little ragdoll kitchen and realizes its for adoption. We also discussed the controversy over Taylor Swift using a drumline in her Billboard Music Awards Performance which was evocative of Beyonce’s performance at Coachella. Helena Christensen and our boobs: Minutes 20 to 23.5 Former British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman wrote a horrible critique of Helena Christensen’s fashion using Helena’s age and body type. We discussed how ageist this is and talk about whether we’d wear bustiers as outerwear. We also both wanted to know what it’s like to have each other’s boob type. Oprah’s fabulous interview: Minutes 23.5 to to 25.5 Chandra loved Oprah’s interview with The Hollywood Reporter and was fascinated by Oprah’s thoughts and how she’s grown. We talk about the sexism Oprah experienced at 60 Minutes and why she left CBS. We laugh about Oprah shooting down Beto O’Rourke’s Presidential run. Anjelica Huston’s batsh-t interview: Minutes 25.5 to 30 Anjelica Huston, 67, gave an awful interview to Vulture where she trashed Penny Marshall and Carrie Fisher for doing drugs, defended Roman Polanski and pretty much said that statutory rape was ok in Europe when she was growing up so it’s no big deal. Chandra knew about Anjelica’s terrible childhood and how she might have ended up this way, although she doesn’t get a pass. Ghost stories with Hecate: Minutes 30 to 43 When Hecate/Kat covered Sting’s ghost story she shared one of her own stories, opening a fascinating and chilling discussion in the comments. I talk to her about some of her experiences and they scare me so much. She grew up with a Baptist ghost and has another creepy story about a little girl haunting her family’s cabin. Talk with my mom: Minutes 43 to 48 When I talked to Hecate I remembered an incident from my childhood. I called my mom to see if she remembered it and her answer surprised and moved me. The blind item from last week and user feedback: Minutes 48 to 52.5 We talk about the blind item from last week about a 90s icon Chandra spoke to and whether anyone got it right in the comments. We got really nice feedback about our Amazon posts and our Royals coverage. Thanks to everyone on Twitter who retweets and likes our podcast posts! Comments of The Week: Minutes 52.5 to 55 My comment of the week is from Hanahk on the Game of Thrones is too dark story. Chandra’s comment of the week is from GenericUserName123 on the Taylor Swift cat adoption story. The stories and photos we talk about can be found at https://www.celebitchy.com/podcast/ and https://www.celebitchy.com/?p=619877
Baby Sussex is here but details are sketchy about the birth.Harry and Meghan's baby boy was born just before 4.30 yesterday afternoon New Zealand time, about a week overdue. The infant tipped the scales at 3.2 kilograms, or 7pounds, 3 ounces.Royal correspondent, Charlie Proctor, told Kate Hawkesby we don't know where the Duchess of Sussex gave birth. He says the birth was so private, on the notice on the ceremonial easel outside Buckingham Palace, there's a space left blank where the doctors are supposed to sign it."We have been told that the Duke and Duchess don't want anyone to know who was in the room when she gave birth. So they are being private about this and I wouldn't expect much detail to be released."He said it is most likely that Meghan gave birth at Frogmore Cottage, surrounded by family. The speed of the announcement has taken the public by surprise, Proctor said."We didn't think Prince Harry would come out and speak to the media, especially because he wants this to be so private. But I think that was a happy compromise - there's not going to be any photos today and we aren't going to get any more information, so he's come out to speak to the press."The infant is seventh in line to the British throne and Queen Elizabeth II's eighth great-grandchild. Harry is the younger son of Prince Charles, heir to the throne, and the late Princess Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997.Prince Harry told media they will show the baby off in a couple of days time."It's going to be a quiet and intimate affair, there is only going to be one photographer and one TV film crew there," Proctor said.He said there is no timeline for when the baby will be named, but it is expected to be within the week. The couple announced the birth on their Instagram account.

Welcome to another round of The Sussex Set. Shout out to Katie Kindelan for highlighting the Sussex Squad this week. It's important to have articles out there that tell a different side and allows their fans to speak. In this ep, I shine a light on The Little Village. They are a great London-based organization that donates quality, much-needed items (clothes, toys and equipment) to mothers of small children who've hit some financial challenges. They have over 150 volunteers and can be found in 3 boroughs of London. With child poverty on the rise in London, they can use all the help they can get. Find out what you can do to contribute or volunteer your time. Harry will soon visit The Hague, Queen is giving out Big Dawg awards and I shared a special letter to Baby Sussex while we await the arrival. Make sure you leave a 5-star rating on iTunes and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss an episode! I appreciate each of you. In this episode, I recap some of the craziness of this week. From Rose bushes in the country to smear campaigns in London. There's some foolery going on in the ghetto, and I need for them to leave Meghan alone! Have you heard of the Lunch Box Fund? it's one of the DDoS's chosen charities they'd like you to consider donating to in honor of their first born. They help food-insecure school children in South Africa succeed by providing a nutritious meal every day -- when a child isn't hungry, she can learn, and in the long-term, stay in school and give back to her own community. LBF's goal is to provide meals for children all over South Africa. When you donate, 100% of your donation goes to providing meals to these wonderful children. In the name of Baby Sussex, consider giving a donation to the Lunch Box Fund. Make sure to visit my YouTube channel for additional content beyond the podcast. And follow me on Twitter and Instagram @sussexsquad on both platforms. Peace and Love.

Hello Sussex Squad! Today we have 2 special guests Nicki and Mary and we chatted about updates on globalsussexbabyshower Harry’s engagement in Dagenham, his collaboration with Oprah and Apple TV and finally the news around the birth of Baby Sussex. Updates on Globalsussexbabyshower going to may 12th how much was raised So The Duke of Sussex visited an OnSide Youth Zone in Dagenham, as a continuation of his longstanding work in supporting young people and the belief that sport can change and sometimes even save lives. OnSide Youth Zone creates state of the art ‘Youth Zones’ for disadvantaged communities to provide children and adults aged 8 to 19 (and up to age 25 with a disability) with a safe and inspiring place to be for mentorship, support, and guidance.Participation in youth zones is proven to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour by half or more. Earlier this year, The Duke was joined by The Duchess of Sussex in opening an OnSide club in Birkenhead. On April 10, it was announced that Prince Harry is collaborating with Oprah Winfrey and AppleTV on a mental health series that is going to be released in 2020. Both Mrs Winfrey and the Duke are co-creators and executive producers on the project. They’ve been working on it for several months already and had several meetings in London. On April 11, the arrangement around the birth of Baby Sussex was announced by Buckingham Palace.Talk about the press notes that the reporters received. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are about to become parents for the first time - but there is still plenty to do before the baby's arrival. Their new household is set up, they've moved into their Windsor home and already have their social media accounts up and running. And it has not yet been revealed where Baby Sussex will be making an appearance. Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper is joined by Mirror royal editor Russell Myers, style director Amber Graafland and writer Zoe Forsey to discuss what we do and don't know about the next royal arrival. They also discuss the pros and cons of royals' perfect poses on the hospital steps, what their life will be like in Windsor and what the baby might be called. A virtual “baby shower” is being held by the Sussex Squad; a group made up of men and women from different countries, who have never met each other in person, but communicate via social media. This event is a celebration to welcome Baby Sussex. It will begin on Sunday, March 31st through May 12th, 2019. “We wanted to do something special and enduring to honour a couple who has already started to make a very positive impact on the world, and to celebrate the birth of their first child by helping causes that are close to their hearts.” All well-wishers of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are invited to join. In lieu of sending baby gifts, the group kindly asks donations be made to one of three charities associated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex: Camfed, Mayhew and WellChild. Camfed- Educating impoverished girls in rural Africa. CAMFED is an international non-profit organization tackling poverty and inequality by supporting girls to go to school and succeed, and empowering young women to step up as leaders of change.
