In this bonus episode, we're saying goodbye to Dean Stockwell, the Oscar-nominated star whose career stretched over seven decades in Hollywood who passed away on November 7th. From his earliest days as a child star in the 40s to his work with David Lynch, his Golden Globe-winning turn on Quantum Leap and his many memorable screen turns, Stockwell was always a compelling presence in a film or TV show. While he never made a visit to Suspense, Stockwell did appear on other radio anthologies, and we'll hear two of them: "Hans Brinker" from Family Theatre (originally aired on Mutual on November 8, 1950) and "Home's Not a Place" from Stars Over Hollywood (originally aired on CBS on June 7, 1952).

Yes, there is a new Dune, but it doesn't mean we have to throw the old one down the toilet. Directed by David Lynch. Starring Kyle MacLachlan, Sting, Sean Young, Brad Dourif, Everett McGill, Paul L. Smith, Kenneth McMillan, Patrick Stewart, Dean Stockwell, Alicia Witt, Jose Ferrer and Jack Nance. Music by Toto. How is the world wrong about this movie? From Bryan: Disowned by a director who didn't get final cut. Hated by fans who thought it strayed to far from the book. Brushed off as a faiulre and a mess by those who haven't even seen it. I love this movie and Lynch fans should embrace it as opposed to dismissing it. The Lynchian stamp is all over this film from the design, the themes and the actors. Happy Birthday! Ok, not your birthday, unless your birthday is on November 11, and you just hit 10 years old. Cause WE did, just the other day! And now we're going to wax a bit poetic about a history of talking about movies together. A Sampling of the Original Crew Pete Wright, Andy Nelson, Steve Sarmento, and Tommy Metz III join the crew this week to share a peek into the wayback machine. We talk about those first rocky Movies We Like episodes, the first Film Boards, and the community that has come up around this show. But don't worry, it's not all about the good ol' days. Steve brings news of this weekend's launch of the IMAX aspect ration on select Marvel movies on Disney+. Twenty-six percent more pixels! We lost Dean Stockwell so we take a podcast knee in his memory. And the first Rust lawsuits are filed, shedding a little more light on the conditions that led to the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Four trailers this week run the table from horror to comedy to cowboys, and also the one Steve brought. Steve's Trailer: *C'mon C'mon Tommy's Trailer: The Power of the Dog Pete's Trailer: Silent Night Andy's Trailer: 8-Bit Christmas THE LIST! It's the list pick that couldn't be stopped! Questionable accents has been picked twice before but never delivered… well, not until now. The twist: hosts had to demonstrate their picks in the appropriate accents. Steve's List snatch. The Highlander The Dark Knight Rises Tommy's List Django Unchained Thirteen Days Rounders Pete's List Blood Diamond Varsity Blues Captain Corelli's Mandolin Andy's List The Dark Knight X-Men The Beguiled

The tremendous Katie Walsh returns to help Christy review "Belfast," which lots of folks seem to be excited about as an Oscar front-runner. Christy is far more enthusiastic about another black-and-white film, "Passing," which is glorious and available right now on Netflix. She and Alonso review that as well as "Red Notice," also on Netflix if you need something on in the background while you fold laundry, and "Home Sweet Home Alone," which is part of the Home Alone Cinematic Universe. It's on Disney+. And speaking of the streamer, Disney Plus Day is one of our big discussion topics in news. Also: Britney Spears' conservatorship ending, repercussions from the deadly Astroworld trampling, Paul Rudd is People's Sexiest Man Alive, Taylor Swift releases a do-over on her "Red" album, celebrity Covid news with Aaron Rodgers, Matthew McConaughey, Letitia Wright and Stone Temple Pilots, plus we remember the legendary Dean Stockwell.
