Easter – You'll Never Walk AloneAccepting or not accepting the risen Jesus is a personal choice. But one thing's for sure: only He defeated death. That's the core of our faith — without it, everything else falls apart. Two disciples were walking to Emmaus, heartbroken and confused. They didn't even recognize that Jesus Himself was walking right beside them. They had hoped for a victorious Messiah, but instead saw Him crucified. Their expectations didn't match reality — and that's why it's so important to build our faith not on what we expect, but on what God has promised. The message? You're not alone. Jesus walks with you — even when you're going the wrong way. He draws near in hard times, not just in the good ones. And He's not just looking for people to believe in the resurrection — He wants to transform lives. When they invited Him to stay, their eyes were opened. Sometimes healing comes in the breaking. And once you recognize Him, everything changes. With the risen Christ in your life, you receive:Confidence – You're forgiven, and nothing is truly lost.Hope – For both the present and the future.Peace – Even in the middle of life's storms.Joy – That doesn't depend on what's happening around you.Victory – Because the ending has already been written. So live today as if Jesus really did rise from the dead — because He did. And remember: you'll never walk alone.

Exploring Neurodiversity with Adina Levy from Play. Learn. Chat
Self-advocacy is not as simple as just learning one skill or one isolated thing. In the neurodiversity affirming world and in the therapy world, we love talking about self-advocacy, but what is it and how do you get there? I like to think of the components of self-advocacy is being broken up into four main sub parts: Supportive Environment & Community - Safe people and spaces that encourage, believe you, facilitate and offer support Self-awareness of Needs & Preferences - You need to be aware of what you like, need, and don't like or don't want Self-worth & Confidence - You need to believe you're worthy of support, and feel confident and secure enough to ask for what you want/need Ability to Communicate - You need to be capable of communicating your preferences, choices and protests in a way that others around you understand In this episode, I outline what each of those parts are, why they're so important. And some ideas and examples for how this can look in practice. Keep learning with me! Confidence: “You don't become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are. Outwork your self-doubt.” Work: "The work works on you more than you work on it." For anyone debating whether to marry a partner. These 2 lenses were useful: How have my stats changed since they entered my life? (wealth, health, time) Would I go to war with them? They flow from what Alex wants: Growth Hard goals Document your life more. Otherwise, you'll forget the details. And the details are what make it worth remembering. (homework for life) Alex shared a vulnerable story about not wanting to live anymore when he was 21. He had graduated from Vanderbilt in 3 years (manga cum laude), had a great consulting job, and was on his way up the corporate ladder. And he hated it. He was living his dad's dream, not his own. So he quit. And didn't call his dad until he was well on his way to California to start over. "A leading indicator that someone is not an independent thinker is that they agree (or disagree) with every single point of a political party. Also applies to seeing no fault (or 100% fault) in particular leaders." “Volume negates luck” What makes a great sales professional: Clear communication Conviction Be honest... And have a desire to help your customer Life Lessons Alex wishes he had learned earlier: Talk less, listen more… (He messed this up earlier in his career by talking too much) The hardest respect to earn is one's own If you want to control what people think, control what they say – “Equip people with simple language so that they can communicate what you do.” “You get more out of reading 1 book that's great 5 times, than out of reading 5 mediocre books.” – “If your behavior doesn't change as a result of reading the book, then it means you've learned nothing.” You are going to die – 2 weeks after you die, most people will have forgotten about you. Extraordinary accomplishments come from doing ordinary things for extraordinary periods of time. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well Be willing to negotiate everything except for your values Humility - Sacrifice for the group. Give more to the company. Give to the group. Hormozi Law: The longer you delay the ask, the bigger the ask you can make. The longer the runway, the bigger the plane that can take off. "At your funeral, friends and family will argue over who gets what. People will want food to eat. The topic will shift from your life to their lives. They'll drive away thinking about their looming to-do list. Some people won't be able to make it because "something came up." A reminder of the heavy weight we place on things that matter little." "There's no greater waste of time than justifying your actions to people who have a life you don't want." "The easiest way to change behavior is to change your environment." Alex's great-great-grandfather had 400 children. "Never skip dessert." "My life has never gotten worse by removing mediocre people."

Welcome to episode 12 of Understanding Crypto, the podcast where James Burtt and Paul Abercrombie demystify the world of Web 3.0 and cryptocurrency, as well as what it means for you and your business. In this episode James and Paul explain creator coins and social tokens, including the basics, and how to properly utilize them within your communities. Rare Use Case Social Tokens and DAOs are the hot topics being discussed in the crypto realm at the moment, however proper use case adoption, and successful use cases have yet to be seen. A survey was done in a room of 40 and of those 40 people only two said they use DAOs. The rarity of DAO usage can be attributed to two factors: it's used by community administrators, or a layperson heavily involved in the world of Web 3.0. [Listen from 3:03] Creator Coins and DAOs A creator coin is an individual, group business or entity issuing their own cryptocurrency. They are designed to be specifically used between creator and community, to be used for payment of services between the creator and their community, or to unlock access or benefits. They act almost like a membership card, and a community is built from holders of the same creator coins. The DAO aspect comes into play when creators begin to merge all the technologies together. "The creation of a social token with the creator, or the creator coin giving access to voting rights within the DAO that makes certain decisions within the community," Paul adds. "When you start to overlay all of this stuff, you really start to supercharge an offering and a stack of tools that you can use if you're a creator to really help you drive your community forward," he remarks. [Listen from 5:22] You shouldn't launch a social token or a coin to create a community. Rather, you should build your community and fanbase so that when you create your coin or token, you further ignite your community. It drives engagement and gives people a sense of belonging and identity. People crave tribes, and as that tribe grows, so does the value in your community. Creator coins however, cannot be used as investment mechanisms. The value of a coin depends on the popularity of a community so there is high risk, and constant fluctuation. Creator coins can increase in value if the community is buoyant, but they are not financial instruments. [Listen from 8:55] Incentivize and Strategize Getting people within your community to create something for the community is a good way of incentivizing the community. Creators can do this by positioning coin rewards and what this will inevitably do, is drive the value of the community, thus driving the value of the coin. It's a cyclical reward as these individuals give value to the community, whilst also getting paid for the value they bring, and ultimately driving up the value of the entire initiative. Paul and James' coins aren't released to them all at once, but rather they are vested over time, and what that does is that it keeps them in the game for a long time. It keeps them incentivized to grow their community. "You want to incentivize people to stay in the community… give them a utility map of usage for that coin that allows them to stay in the community because the more people that hold the coin the stronger the coin is going to become," James says. [Listen from 12:02] Minting your own tokens serves no purpose if there is no liquidity pool, and no ecosystem to make it work. It's a full-time job, and the buyers have less protection. You end up going down the road of having a cryptocurrency, and you're going to be treated differently by the regulators. Also, if you take full control and do it on the open exchange and not via a third party, it's going to be very hard to drive traffic because you have no community around your coins. "If you've already got a community it's a good way to monetize and to galvanize the community into all walking forward for a particular benefit or purpose, but you do so with the responsibility of creating an economy that other people have brought into," James says. [Listen from 18:14] Community and Confidence You have to have a purpose for doing creator coins. What are you trying to do, what utility are you trying to drive, and what value are you trying to bring to people? Paul and James stress these points, while expressing their own excitement at what they can do with their own creator coin. They've been building their community for more than 18 months. One of the downsides of creator coins however, is that a creator can simply stop what they're doing and the value of the coin will plummet because people will sell their coins. In this case, there has to be confidence between creator and community. [Listen from 23:07] Key Takeaways The value of a coin depends on the popularity of a community. You should build your community and build your fanbase so that when you create your coin or token, you further ignite your community. You have to have a purpose for doing creator coins. One of the things I learned early on in my 145 lb. weight loss journey is that if I don't know my why, it's much harder to bounce back onto the right path when we've gone off the rails for whatever reason. I used to teach men and women in the prison system how to find their why, and I'm telling you what, nothing made my heart smile more than when you saw the light bulb come on in their eyes and they realized they still had a reason to keep going. I would see grown men full of tattoos weep. Those are some of the most cherished moments in my career. But finding our why isn't just reserved for people in prison, corporate CEO's, or super-focused high achievers. No, finding our why is critical for all of us, especially as we continue on the journey of weight loss and health and finding lasting freedom. My hope for you is that by the end of this episode, you're going to cling to your why like your life depends on it, because your life might just really depend on it. “You lose your way when you lose your why.” Those are nine of the most powerful words I've ever heard, spoken by my friend Gail Hyatt. Have you ever stopped long enough to ask yourself why? And not the why you might be thinking I'm referring to. Not “Why did I gain all the weight back that I lost?” Not “Why can't I get my crap together when it comes to getting healthy?” Not “Why can't I be like those other moms that can do all the things?” Not “Why am I still single? Those are important questions to ask at the right time, but those aren't the why questions I'm talking about. We're going to process through some more empowering why questions in today's episode. You don't want to miss it. I may shed a tear a or two. So, click here to listen and let's figure out your why together. Dave Lukas, The Misfit Entrepreneur_Breakthrough Entrepreneurship
This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Dylan Blau. What does dog training have to do with massive success in entrepreneurship? A lot actually. Dylan is the founder of Epic Dog Pros and a professional dog training expert and behaviorist. He has rehabilitated thousands of dogs; training some of the most challenging cases from extreme aggression to dogs scared of everything. His consistency & dependability is incomparable allowing him to do what others cannot. Aside from that, he is a Public Figure, Mentor, Life Coach, and social media/PR wizard who used these tools to create all of his businesses and grow exponentially. In fact, hacking social media was the key to showcasing his talents in dog training to the world and making him known selling millions’ worth of dog training programs. Nowadays, he works with Celebrities, YouTube Influencers, Facebook Public Figures, Authors & other Social Media Celebrities to help them maximize their selling potential on social media. So, going back to my question at the beginning. What does dog training have to with massive entrepreneur success? Dylan’s shares how he used everything he knows about dog training to create a massive brand and business. @WeAreDogTraining on Instagram Dylan has been training dogs for 13 years and never expected to be in that business. He originally went to school for musical theatre and even did standup comedy for a while. He thought he was headed into acting. He ended having an opportunity in Arizona to work with dogs and learn lessons from watching Cesar Milan. This inspired him and a friend to rescue dogs and train them. And he did. He found he understood it almost intuitively and continued to develop the skill. He felt that he needed to share his knowledge and what he learned to help others learn it. As he went down the entrepreneur path, he found people like Tai Lopez and others. He immersed himself in learning top minds. This let him to fall in love with social media as it became an amazing stage for him to share everything he was doing. It began to take off. After training thousands of dogs and being known for really helping problem dogs and aggressive dogs, his teachings have been adopted by many throughout the world. “Training a dog is solving a problem. And working with animals is almost more fun than working with people as they don’t give you excuses. They only show you their limitations. The problems to solve.” Humans put up barriers and resistance. People can go to therapy for years and never solve their problems. And several years ago, Dylan doubled down on his brand on social media as a dog trainer and he now has hundreds of thousands of followers across many platforms and ways to get to his teaching and training. His whole business literally runs on social media and has allowed him to sell millions in his programs. During Covid, he offered to help others with the strategies he has used to grow online and now his latest business, The Blau Agency has grown tremendously. What are the principles that make for successful dog training that relate well to entrepreneurship? Consistency – Training a dog is all about creating a consistent day to day routine of actions that will help the dog to grow and progress. It is the same with an entrepreneur. Every day you work on the same things and trying to get better at them. Clarity – Clarity is one of the biggest reasons why dog trainers and dogs, and business owners and entrepreneurs will succeed or not. Things must be clear, easy to follow, and understand. The opposite of clarity is confusion and when we and dogs get confused, we shut down. Dylan uses the example of ordering a black coffee vs. trying to figure out Starbucks’ men. Black coffee is easy and universal. Confidence: You need to build confidence in your dog just as you need to build confidence in yourself as a business owner or entrepreneur. Fear is a terrible motivator. Building confidence builds motivation and confidence comes from healthy communication that is clear (clarity) and consistent. Patience: You must be patient with the process as you put in the work in the other areas with a dog and as a business owner or entrepreneur. At the 21-minute mark, we discuss these and my DCP formula in more detail and get into overcoming the challenges that happen even if you are doing well. We also discuss structure. It’s best to just listen. When you hit a roadblock, your ability to adapt, evolve, and problem solve comes down to your mantra (your battle cry) and your confidence/clarity in that you can work around it. Talk to us about hacking social media to grow a business, what should we know? Social media are free platforms where you can show people who you are every day and get attention to your brand and your business. With the right strategy, it can seem effortless. Dylan explains social media using his father, who is a successful, old school entrepreneur who never used social media. These business can and will continue to succeed. But Dylan said that social media is “Missed Potential Income.” Instagram is one of the best platforms to be on. .Tik Tok is now a must and has taken over social media. LinkedIn is still good. Parler is a new one. Dylan focuses the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Youtube. Dylan learned that the more he showed people, the more they responded and connect with him. If you can use social media to make your customers feel like they know you, the more successful you will be. If people see you consistently with confidence and clarity talking about a topic that you know, they will come to you because you are always there when the time is right for them. Every day, Dylan wants people to see him, engage with him, and have an opportunity to interact with them. Dylan was not originally a fan of Tik Tok, but now in his mind, it is the #1 place to be currently. It is a goldmine for anybody and Tik Tok will allow you have to fund with social media – it is all about being relatable and vulnerable. How are you able to put yourself across all these platforms, how much time are spending a day, and what is your strategy to monetize? How do you manage it all consistently every day? First, you need to present yourself in a way that gives you credibility. People judge your social media pages the way they judge a book cover. You want to develop your brand to be credible. It could be with PR, features, etc. Then you need to generate an outflow – a way to connect and develop a relationship. Relationships create opportunities. Connect with people – Dylan does this through Direct Messaging Opportunities create sales. Collaborations are important such as going on podcasts or with other social media influencers. You can certainly hire people to help you like VA’s or direct hires. Focus on what you are good and get help for the rest. At the 40 min mark, Dylan talks about how creates content and documents what he is doing as he goes. Documentary style content is the easiest to make. Show people the inside look at things. To collaborate – Dylan will go onto someone’s page and like 10 photos that he thinks is meaningful to the creator, then comment on 1-2 posts, then follows them. Once they respond and follow back, he direct messages them with a simple message to connect. He and his assistants send messages connecting every day. “The more you know yourself the more you can show yourself.” Any last thoughts? Have fun. Enjoy your life. Money is a result of doing what you love to do. Play the long game. Don’t think short term. Best Quote: Training a dog is solving a problem. And working with animals is almost more fun than working with people as they don’t give you excuses. They only show you their limitations. The problems to solve. Dylan's Misfit 3: Taking responsibility. You are wherever you are in life, because of everything you’ve done. You are in control. Ask for help. Life is more fun with people. Surround yourself with great people to help you grow. Have fun. Enjoy life! Believe in yourself to be yourself. You are a sexy snake. Before you can grow, you must shed your old skin. "Your skin" is old beliefs, habits, fears, and thoughts that would otherwise be holding you back, aka "your baggage." Click here for glowed-up show notes: https://badbitcheslosingweight.podbean.com/ Today we are talking about 3 types of baggage: They can be interwoven. Physical: An old pair of jeans A thought: “I’ll do this later.” A belief: A belief that isn’t serving you is a constriction of energy. It is brought on by a thought or a belief about yourself A thought: You think a thought. 70,000-90,000 thoughts per day. A belief is a thought that you hold on to as a truth and operate from that place. The constriction of energy comes in when a belief that isn’t serving you is so strong and your identity is so wrapped in it that all action and inaction you take or don’t take comes from that place. Why Let Go of Baggage? Possible reasons you've avoided losing this baggage: Lack of time/not a priority: You consider other matters more pressing. Overwhelm: Don’t know where to start so you put it off. Out of sight, out of mind: You don’t see it so you don’t think about it. Not ready to let go: Maybe you don’t want to or maybe it has sentimental value. Waiting for someone to give you permission: You are waiting for someone else to tell you it is okay to let go. Didn’t know you were even holding on: You didn’t realize you were even holding on to it. Didn’t know how letting go would benefit you: You don’t see how letting go of it will positively impact your life. Lack of Worth: You think you might not deserve better than what you currently have so you keep what you’ve been given. “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” Fear of Loss: You are worried that you might not be able to find another you like more so you keep the one you have because it’s better than nothing. Lack of Confidence: You’re worried that if you let go you will need to show up differently. You are concerned about what that might look like and if you will be able to keep it up. Fear of Rejection: You are worried about what letting go might mean about you or what other people might think about it. This may also look like "a fear of hurting others." You would rather be unhappy than make other people unhappy because your fear of rejection and lack of self-worth are the dominant driving forces. Episode 26 From Doubt to Confidence You asked, I'm delivering. When I polled my audience recently about which topics this podcast should cover in the months to come, many of you said you wanted to work on mindset and confidence. This is a personal and important topic to me, and one that I work on almost daily. The value of understanding your own mindset and knowing how to use it to your advantage can make all the difference in growing your business. I decided to break this episode down into three parts, self-doubt, confidence, and moving forward with a confident mindset. By breaking down these elements into smaller chunks, we can see the big picture without feeling intimidated. This means the process of moving from self-doubt to confidence is much easier to accomplish. Part One: Defining Self-Doubt 1) I ask you how you define self-doubt, and how it shows up for you in daily life. Then, I share several examples from REAL women in my community who were bold enough to share their very personal negative self-talk stories (a.k.a. their inner critics). I am so grateful for their willingness to share their truths because I want you to see that if you ever feel this way, you are not alone! I also give you an activity that you can do to get clear on what your thoughts are right now. Later we look at how we can start to reprogram these thoughts. The biggest thing to note: All thoughts are a choice, including thoughts that result in a feeling of doubt, and thoughts that result in feeling confident. Part Two: Defining Confidence 2) Who will you be at your most confident self and how does that person feel? I share a visualization exercise that will help you to understand what confidence is for you. Clarity on this vision of yourself is the first step in knowing how to get there. Part Three: Moving from Self-Doubt to Confidence 3) I share a few strategies that you can implement right away (many on a daily basis) so you can address and reprogram negative, doubtful thoughts and begin taking positive actions that will result in more self-confidence. You will start building momentum, moving towards the confident vision of yourself we outline in part two. Want to know the secret that most productivity experts never talk about? Most people procrastinate on taking action or downright give up on their goals because they lack just one thing: CONFIDENCE You have lost the productivity game if you ever have to ask yourself the following question: “So...what am I supposed to be doing now?” Imagine for a second: You wake up in the morning (without hitting the snooze button twelve times) having intentionally designed your day in such a way that you have 100% clarity about the goals you hope to achieve not only today but in the next week, as well as over the next 3 months, 1 year, or even the next 5 years. Think about what it might feel like to have the utmost confidence that the next items on your daily to-do list are the right actions that will lead you to your destination (and ANY productivity app will work...including post-it notes).
