On this Episode... J.B. Mendez from "Dead, But Can Not Die" and Budro Partida from "PennyRock Productions" dropped in for a pretty cool episode, if I say so myself... We had a great chat about PennyRock's recent trip out to California for the induction of "Dangerous Toys" into the "Metal Hall of Fame" and future projects coming up... The main topic, for the evening, was the recent Music Video from "Dead, But Can Not Die" titled "Heart Deception" done by Budro and the PennyRock crew... We played that Music Video plus another one for the song "Know Deception"... For more info about "Dead, But Can Not Die". please go to https://www.facebook.com/DeadButCannotDie/ and for more info on Budro and "RennyRock Productions", please go to https://www.pennyrockproductions.com/ Much Love, Enjoy ;) Recorded on January 29th, 2025 Sponsored by Iron Wolf Ranch and Distillery https://ironwolfranch.com/

The Most Dangerous Toys (6/4/24) by 96.5 WKLH
This was such a fun episode. A band I really dug when I first started exploring music on my own was Dangerous Toys. The song "Scared" hooked me big time during the time when you find new music through Headbangers Ball. What a treat it was to interview Jason and learn all about his career. This is the longest podcast ive done but I feel like the conversation just flows and you lose track of time listening to Jason's amazing story. Lots of great stuff in the episode. Thank you Jason for being so gracious with your time and to learn more about where you can find where Jason is playing, merch, etc... click the link below... https://jasonmcmaster.net --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/eric-stangeland/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/eric-stangeland/support

He was so upset when he found out that she did that, that he canceled it. She says she was just paranoid and didn't know why he was being so secretive lately. She wants him to reschedule the party to another date so she can still get the “surprise”- Plus, he was going to have the party in three weeks and her birthday isn't for another three months! In Tyson's own words: “I have been playing professionally in clubs and venues all over the US and Globally since 1988. Originally from Kansas City, I migrated to Nashville to pursue my dream further to be in a touring act, Upon living here for three months, I landed the keyboard spot for 90s country superstar Tracy Lawrence. Previous to my tenure with Lawrence, I performed with Corey Taylor of the heavy metal juggernaut Slipknot and Stone Sour in the short-lived band Corey Taylor and the Junk Beer Kidnap Band. Essentially it's the prequel to his current solo outing CMFT. In 2017, I was hired as the keyboardist for late 80s hard rock all-female sensation Vixen and am still touring the world with them. In addition to touring work, I've been a Dueling pianist since 2012 working at venues like Howl At The Moon and currently The Big Bang in Nashville, TN. I've also performed on the Kid Rock Cruise. The KISS cruise. The Megadeth cruise. Monsters Of Rock, Shiprocked, The 80s Cruise, and the Rob Gronkowski cruise among others. I released a solo album in 2013. In 2016 I released a follow-up single titled “Cradle To The Grave”. In 2020, I produced a country album for Singer/Songwriter Dew Pendleton called “Might As Well Be Me”. And on New Year's Eve, I released a hard rock single called “Burning Time” which featured members of Queensryche, Vixen, Mr. Big, and Autograph. When I'm not on the road you can often see me performing between 6-7 nights a week on lower Broadway in Nashville or performing at a Dueling Piano bar somewhere in the country. I've also recorded for 80s sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat and David Ellefson of Megadeth, Enuff Z'Nuff, blues artist Amanda Fish, and numerous independent artist releases for artists of various genres. Did you ever hear about rock bands selling their souls to the devil, and if you listen to their music or play their albums backward you will turn into a demonic zombie??? PUBLIC VERSION. Singer/songwriter Jason McMaster (DANGEROUS TOYS, IGNITOR, WATCHTOWER, BROKEN TEETH) joins Adam and Arwen in the ArieScope Studio to share his hard rocking career journey. From forming his first band at 17… to the 40 years he's now spent playing in WATCHTOWER… to why religion is afraid of rock n roll… to what the true meaning is behind the slogan “keep Austin weird”… to the joys and success that can come from not having an agenda… to how quickly DANGEROUS TOYS found success and the very famous musician who warned “that may not be a good thing”… to why the name of the band was only supposed to be temporary… to what it was like making the jump from playing in clubs to playing in big arenas and having videos in regular rotation on MTV and radio… to why he never fell victim to the typical rock star party antics… to his extraordinarily positive attitude about being content just playing rock n roll… to his unique style of singing and his work teaching music to kids through School Of Rock… to his philosophy that true fans never grow out of the things they're fans of… Jason's message of “be who you are, love what you love, and do what makes you happy” is one that will lift up everyone in THE MOVIE CRYPT audience. Dr. Arwen provides “Hollywood Therapy” for a listener struggling with depression, Adam and Jason nerd out over their music collectibles, and Jason reveals how his early correspondence with James Hetfield wound up being included in METALLICA's incredibly comprehensive “Kill ‘Em All” and “Ride the Lightning” box sets! NOTE: This extended length episode also includes Jason's appearance during YORKIETHON 5 from December 2020! (Patreon only.)
This week we're joined by Jason McMaster to discuss the making of the 1989 self-titled debut from Dangerous Toys! As per usua with our Albums Unleashed episodes, we dig into many facets of this album as well as the circumstances around it. In this long-form discussion, Jason gives us the origin story of Dangerous Toys including how changes with his serious gig with progressive thrash band Watchtower would lead to him to moonlight with cover bands. One of these cover bands would turn into Dangerous Toys. The story behind how, basically, a party gig would turn into a major label band is pretty incredible. The chain of events, circumstances, and connections that would lead the band to being signed will surprise you. Additionally, Jason discusses the making of several songs on the album including 'Scared,' 'Sportin' a Woody,' 'Feels Like a Hammer,' 'Queen of the Nile' and more as well as what the studio environment was like with legendary producer Max Norman. Other interesting topics covered include the backstory of Bill Z. Bub, the band's mascot, hanging out on the Sunset Strip during the area's heyday, album photography done with Mark Weiss, a special promo jack-in-the-box item story that's crazy in and of itself and much more! If you love Dangerous Toys, this episode is a MUST-LISTEN! We thank Jason McMaster for being such a great guest with so many great stories! Be sure to check out Jason and co-host "Metal" Dave Glessner on the Talk Louder podcast as well! It's a great show!
